The heat on the passenger does not work at all I was driving and the frost kept coming back on the windshield I almost had a wreck with another vehicle. The way the sunshine hit the frost on the windshield it shined to bright for me to see. How is this safe? I have seen where many people are having this issue online. It just blows cold air on the passenger side vents. No police were involved but I could’ve ended up in the hospital all because of a little part that won’t get recalled.
Car shuts off while driving, no warning, it will start back up after a few tries. Has happened multiple times
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while driving, a loud knocking sound was present coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was eventually towed to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the engine shaft bearings had failed and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V552000 (Engine). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The local dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,000.
The contact’s niece owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer; Phillips Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (3440 S Pine Ave, Ocala, FL 34471; (352) 644-7795) but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number 13V552000 (Engine). The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
The engine in our vehicle blew up, our safety as well as others on the road were affected, when the engine blew we were driving down the highway with traffic, it caused us to swerve into oncoming traffic. We had to pay out of pocket for a tow truck and had it moved to a safe location so as of today, November 02, 2021 at 9:45 pm, the vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer. There was a police man behind us who pulled over to help us, he did not inspect the vehicle, but, he did look to see what happened since he witnessed the incident. We have filed a claim with our insurance company,, however,, they are possibly going to deny the claim due to not covering engine failure even if it's a recall. There were absolutely no warning lamps, messages, or any minor or significant problems presented before the incident. We bought the car new in May 2013 and discovered the engines were recalled in December 2013 and we did not receive any type of vehicle recalls except for the airbags which the dealership replaced.
My heat seems to be blowing cold air when in fact it should be only heat blowing
While the car was parked the driver's seat headrest sprung open and will not click into place again. The car has not had any collisions or impacts recently. I went to check for recalls and realized this is a common problem with 2013 dodge avengers. Luckily, this did not happen while I was driving the vehicle.
No heat on passenger side causes fog to build up and reduce visibility out of the windshield.

Purchased this car 3 yrs a go about 2 weeks ago the airbag light remains on constantly the car was parked but remains on constantly. The car has 107K I search for recall on this site and nothing even though there are over 485 complaints for the same issue. What does it take to get this NOTICED by MOPAR this is obviously a safety hazard. I bet if one of MOPAR's dependents was driving a 2013 Dodge Avenger they would get it fixed TODAY for free via a recall are you listening MOPAR??? I am sure you read these complaints. I will contact a Chrysler dealer in the area and see if they will do the right thing and fix this safety issue for free but after reading all these complaints looks like a losing battle. MOPAR is you want to have customers buy your cars do the right thing a get a recall out on this airbag issue.
After backing out of the driveway in Reverse, I attempted to shift the car into Drive. However, the car kept moving backwards. I then shifted it into Park. At that point, I was not able to get the car back out of Park, yet I was able to push it forward and backward as if it was in neutral. I did some research and found a recall on similar car, the 2013 Dodge Dart: 2013 DODGE DART Report Date: April 11, 2019 Campaign Number: 19V293000 Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission. Consequence Summary: If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Summary: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V34.
Drivers side blows hot air but passenger side is cold. Had clicking noise coming from glove box and discovered bad blend door actuator. Replaced blend door and clicking went away but still no hot air on passenger side. Defrost struggles to defrost windshield which is a safety issue. I have read numerous complaints on here as well as the internet about people having the same issue yet dodge won’t issue a recall to fix this issue.

On Monday, July 19, 2021, the car started randomly blowing the horn while I was driving to work. When I arrived in my parking garage and turned the car off, the alarm system started going crazy with flashers and horn going off like mad. It only stopped when I opened the hood and slammed it shut - not really sure that's what stopped it, but I didn't know what else to do. Random horn beeping continued on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, no horn beeping, but the MOTOR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON THE BALTIMORE BELTWAY. I was lucky to be able to get the car off the road and onto the shoulder. I'm now afraid to drive it. Car has been at the mechanic all day Thursday, July 22 and today, Friday 23, 2021. The mechanic recommended I take the car to the dealer, but I was advised by the dealer that the part (the TIPM) is no longer available through Mopar. So now the mechanic is trying to figure out what to do.

The contact was informed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated while driving at 40-50 MPH, the vehicle hesitated as it stalled. The contact stated that several warning lights illuminated such as the brake, air bags, and charging system warning lights. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road, where she jumped started the battery with some assistance, and the vehicle restarted. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The contact stated that she attempted to start the vehicle again however, the vehicle failed to start as several warning lights were illuminated and a burning odor was detected in the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 146,590.
The air bag light turns on and off while driving, along with a ding, indicating that there is a problem with the air bag.
MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHEN I WAS PARKING MY CAR
CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING NO WARNING WHEN IT DID
DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 TO 40 MPH AND HOOD WHEN FLYING UP. I HOOD WAS NOT OPEN FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS OR MORE WITH NO PROBLEMS.
ON APR 11,2021 I WAS DRIVING AROUND 35-40 MPH AND MY HOOD CAME FLYING UP IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE CALL CHRYSLER AND THEY SENT OUT INSPECTOR RON MARNESE, WHO INSPECTED THE CAR AND FOUND THE SECONDARY LATCH WAS NOT WORKING. CHRYSLER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX MY CAR DUE TO IT BEING OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL. INSPECTOR HAD TOLD ME THAT HE THOUGHT THAT ENGINEERING WOULD WANT THE LATCH AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD GET REPAIRED BY THEM DUE TO THE CAR BEING IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. CHRYSLER DID NOT SEEM TO CARE THE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT CAR SPUTTERED AND DIED. RESTARTED BUT ONCE ON ROAD THE SPUTTERED AND DIED AGAIN. HORN KEPT BEEPING ITSELF AFTER CAR DIED. BEEN READING THAT THIS IS COMMON OCCURRENCE IN THIS MODEL. WOTH NO CLEAR RESOLUTION FROM DEALER/MANUFACTURER
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 AND THEN THE CAR HAD NO POWER. WHEN I GAVE IT GAS IT WOULD NOT GO. IT DROPPED TO ABOUT 10 MPH. THE RED FLASHING ETC AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VERY SCARY. I COULD NOT MOVE OUT OF ANYONE WAY IF I HAD TO.
WHEN I START MY CAR WHICH IS STATIONARY THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON & DINGS (LIKE THE SEATBELT WARNING) IT DINGS LIKE 2 TIMES. THEN AS I DRIVE ON CITY STREETS & HIGHWAYS, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION THE LIGHT WILL COME ON & GO OFF RANDOMLY. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, HOWEVER IT DOES HAPPEN WAY MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. AND I'M AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY & THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS. WHAT IF THE AIRBAGS DO NOT DEPLOY TO HELP SAVE ANYONE? I HAVE READ OTHER CUSTOMERS COMPLAINING OF THIS EXACT SAME THING HAPPENING WITH THEIR VEHILCES, YET THERE IS NO RECALL? SUCH AS NHTSA ID # 11395069 INCIDENT DATE 01-31-2021 PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, AND PLEASE ADVISE OF SOLUTION - RESOLUTION
AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON, TURNS OFF AT RANDOM, TURNS BACK ON AGAIN. REPEATS CYCLE WHILE DRIVING FOR ENTIRE DRIVE.
PASSENGER SIDE HEAT IS INOP RESULTING IN WINDSHIELD FOGGING OVER WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSING AN ISSUE SEEING THE ROAD AS THE ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM IS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN PROPER CLIMATE CONTROL. THIS HAPPENS EVERY WINTER, AND WHENEVER IT RAINS. THIS IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM IN HIGHWAY, AND CITY TRAFFIC RESULTING IN NEAR ACCIDENTS. I'VE HAD THIS CARS SYSTEM FLUSHED AND THAT IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AS STATED FROM MECHANICS.
PASSENGER SIDE BLOWS COLD AIR AND WILL NOT DEFROST THE FRONT WINDOW WHEN DRIVING. WE LIVE IN MT AND THIS CAUSES VISIBILITY ISSUES AND SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS. ALSO, THE VEHICLE KEEPS QUITTING AT VARIOUS TIMES. IT HAS BEEN SEEN MULTIPLE TIMES AND OVER $5K DROPPED INTO IT WITH THE SAME ISSUES
THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF MAKING A DINGING NOISE. THERE IS RECALLS FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE THE SAME AS MINE YET FOR SOME REASON MINE IS NOT RECALLED. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THAT I START THE CAR AND CONTINUES WHILE I AM DRIVING.
WHEN I'M DRIVING AND COME TO A STOP THEN START DRIVING THE CAR STALLS AND JERKS ALSO SENDS OUT A HIGH SQUEAL EVEN AFTER HAVING ALL MAINTENANCE DONE ON IT
THE AIRBAG LIGHT DON'T GO OFF AT ALL UPON DRIVING WHEN ACCELERATING THE ENGINE JERKS VERY BADLY LIKE THERE IS SOME POWER LOST GOING IN WITH THE ENGINE I HAVE TO PRESS HARD FOR ACCELERATION THEN IT DRIVES SMOOTH THEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF ON MY AN MY HUSBAND FROM TRAVELING AN WHEN RAINING THE WIPERS GET STUCK AN MOVES LIKE A ROBOT SO WE HAVE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE WE CAN'T SEE DUE TO ELECTRIC PROBLEMS WITH THE WIPER AN THIS ISN'T SAFE AT ALL FOR NOBODY CAR STALLING OUT PLUS WIPERS GET STUCK AN THE MOVE LIKE A ROBOT NOT SAFE
MY 2013 LOW MILEAGE I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW FROM DODGE DEALERSHIPL ONLY OWNER IS FIRST TIME DRIVING THIS CAR THIS WINTER ALWAYS HAD A WINTER CAR. THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH HEATING SYSTEM ONLY DRIVER SIDE BLOW HOT AIR (HEAT) PASSENGER SIDE BLOW COLD AIR (NO HEAT) HAVE CONTACT CHRYSLER THEY SUGGEST FILL OUT THIS FORM ONLINE BECAUSE HAS BEEN ALOT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CARS.
ON JANUARY 31,2021, I WAS DRIVING HOME IN THE RAIN ON INTERSTATE 40. I HYDROPLANED AND LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR. I WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WA SIN THE FAR RIGHT LANE AND I SPUN OUT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND I CRASHED INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN AT FULL SPEED. MY AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. I HAVE MANY BRUISED ON MY CHEST, HIPS, LEGS, ARMS AND TORSO FROM THE IMPACT, AS WELL AS WHIPLASH IN MY NECK AND BACK.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WITH THE SECURITY LIGHT FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIPM WAS DEFECTIVE. THE FAILURE WAS LINKED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. SINCE THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO FIELDS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE SANFORD (750 TOWNE CENTER BLVD, SANFORD, FL 32771) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE TIPM AND REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.
THE LIGHTING INSIDE IS VERY DIM AND SOMETIMES BLINK ON AND OFF WHEN IN DRIVING MOTION. MY HORN STARTS BLOWING ON IT;S ON WITH OUT TOUCHING IT IN DRIVING MOTION. ALSO MY CAR MAKES A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE GLOVE BOX WHEN THE CAR IS OFF ON A CITY STREET AND ALSO WHEN IT'S IN DRIVING MOTION.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE POWER CUTS OUT. VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE. SEVERAL ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON. TPM ERROR COMES ON THE SCREEN. I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TURN OFF THE CAR TO GET POWER BACK TO DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY CEL LIGHT CAME ON. I BARELY MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD O INVESTIGATE IT. MY CAR WOULD NOT RUN, AND I HAD TO GET TOWED HOME...... TURNS OUT THE MY UPPER RADIATOR HOSE WAS BROKEN WHERE THE FITTING GOES INTO THE HOSE. AFTER TRYING TO FIND THE FITTING I WAS TOLD I HAD TO BUY THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY. CONFUSED AS TO WHY I HAD TO BUY THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY I LOOKED AT THE NEW PART AND IT HAD BEEN REDESIGNED WHERE THE FITTING IS NOW HELD ON BY A MORE PERMANENT HEAT-SHRINK LOOKING TUBE INSTEAD OF HOSE CLAMPS. WELL, SEEING THAT THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE RADIATOR I WAS ALSO A LITTLE CONFUSED AS TOO WHY YOU WOULD WANT CONSUMERS TO HAVE TO SPEND 100.00 FOR JUST THE PART , IF THEY ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE PARKED AND FIND IT, BUT IF THEY ARE UNLUCKY LIKE MYSELF THEN THEY ALSO RECEIVE A TOW BILL ON TOP OF THAT. SEEMS TO ME THAT IT IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN REDIESIGNED. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE UNDER RECALL BECAUSE IF/WHEN THE FITTING DECIDES TO BREAK NOT ONLY DID MY CAR CUT OFF BUT THERE IS A BIG LIKLEYHOOD THAT IT COULD LOCK UP OR EVEN DAMAGE YOUR WATER PUMP , ENGINE, ETC.
I I WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT OF A GROCERY STORE WHEN THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT EXPLODED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD REST. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING AND THERE WAS NO CONTACT WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE OR OBJECT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED YOU CAN NOT EVEN ORDER PARTS TO HAVE THIS FIXED UNTIL 05/01/2021. HE STATED HE WOULD TRY TO CLOSE IT BUT BECAUSE IT IS MADE WITH CHEAP PLASTIC IT WAS PROBABLY BROKE.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the throttle body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the A/C system and defrost system were malfunctioning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the three actuator motors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
THE HEAD REST POPPED APART WHILE CAR PARKED, WITH ALL THE INTERIOR MECHANICAL PARTS EXPOSES.
VENT DOORS KEEP FAILING, DRIVER SIDE VENT GETS HOT WHILE ONE OF THE VENTS IN THE MIDDLE IS WARM AND THE OTHER IS COOL. PASSANGER SIDE IS COLD AS CAN BE. THIS IS WHILE USING THE HEATER. I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE ONLINE TALK ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO SEEN REPORTS ON NHTSA ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. I ALSO HAVE REPLACED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE ON 10/07/2020 AROUND THE CORNER OF MY HOUSE THE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. NO ACCIDENT, NO SUDDEN STOPS THE HEADREST JUST DEPLOYED. I DID CHECK TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS ON IT BUT NOT RECALLS. I DID FIND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS AND HAD TAKEN THERE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE ABOUT REPAIRS. EVERYONE WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS AND THEY COULD FIX IT OR REPLACE THE HEADREST, BUT IT WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE TO THE CUSTOMER. I FEEL THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN INVESTIGATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT HERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE CASE REGARDING THE SAME SITUATION. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AN INVESTIGATION STARTED SO THAT IT CAN BE DETERMINED THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AND ISSUE A RECALL SO THAT WE CAN GET THIS FIXED WITHOUT COST. THIS IS A DANGER TO SOMEONE DRIVING AND THE FACT THAT IT HAS ALREADY DEPLOYED IF ANY OF THE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ARE IN AN ACCIDENT THEY HAVE NO MEANS OF PROTECTION SINCE THE HEADREST HAS ALREADY DEPLOYED.
I WAS VACUUMING CAR AT CAR WASH WITH VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND PARKED, I MOVED SEAT FORWARD AND THE HEADREST ON SEAT POPPED OPENED ON IT'S OWN AND WILL NOT CLOSE
DRIVER HEADREST DEPLOYED WHEN NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. VERY FRUSTRATED BECAUSE NECK IS STARTING TO HURT WHEN DRIVING BECAUSE THE HEADREST IS FORWARD BUT 50%. THIS HAPPENED 1 MONTH AGO, 10/01/2020. VEHICLE WAS PARKED, NOT OCCUPIED.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING STEERING LOCKS BRAKES LOCK THIS VEHICLE HAS 5 RECALLS BUT VIN ONLY REPORTS TWO RECALLS THIS IS DANGEROUS I DRIVE HIGHWAY TO AND FROM WORK PLEASE HELP
