EVERY NOW AND THEN WE WILL BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL STOP WORKING. I CHECK ALL THE FUSES AND EVERYTHING SEEMS GOOD BUT THEY STOP. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THEM BACK WORKING IS TO REMOVE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY POST FROM THE BATTERY FOR 10 MINUTES. I DONE RESEARCH AND THEY WERE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT THE TIPM MODULE. WE ARE CONCERNED FOR OUR SAFETY. ALL THIS HAPPENED IN BREVARD, NC PULLING INTO INGLES.
I'M NOT SURE WHAT IS HAPPENING. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WON'T KEEP A CHARGE. I HAVE PUT TWO BATTERIES AND 3 ALTERNATORS ON. ALL DONE BY MECHANICS. THEY SAID IT WAS SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. I HAVE RAN OUT OF MONEY DUE TO AN ILLNESS AND CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR. I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT FIXED BUT WILL HAVE TO WAIT A WHILE. I DO LIVE MY CAR AND IT WAS FINE AND JUST STARTED DRAINING THE BATTERY AND RUINING ALTERNATORS. MY CAR WAS JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS DEAD AND HAD TO GET A JUMP TO GO TO WORK. I GO MY 09 LOVED IT BUT NOW I HAVE NO DASH LIGHTS, MY TURN SIGNALS IN THE REAR DON'T WORK, MY DRIVERSIDE HEAD LAMP DON'T WORK. I'VE READ EVERYTHING THERE IS ON THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS. AN MOST OF THEM ARE IN WHOM EVER THE DESIGNERROR WAS OF THE COMPUTER BOARD IN THE DASH. AND THE TIPM FOR THE LIGHTS.
MIL LIGHT IS ON - TAKEN FOR SERVICE 3-TIMES - DEALER STATES THE TIPM BOX IS FAULTY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL OUT - WHICH IT DID WHILE I WAS DRIVING CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, AS THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A BUSY STREET, APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED.
IT WAS RAINING AND AS IT WAS RAINING MY CAR STARTED TO BLINK ALL LIGHTS AND STARTED SLOWING DOWN NO MECHANIC CAN SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON BUT AS I WAS DRIVING EVERY WARNING LIGHT STARTED GOING CRAZY THE TACHOMETER WENT CRAZY AND SO DID MY SPEEDOMETER EVENTUALLY MY CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN EVEN THOUGH IT THE ACCELORATOR WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. AND THAN EVENTUALLY IT JUST STOPPED ALL TOGETHER WHEN I TRIED TURNING THE CAR BACK ON.THE STARTED WOULDNT ENGAGE AND THE ENGINE WOULD START TILL I PUT UNHOOKED THE BATTERY AND HOOKED IT BACK IN. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS 12/25/2016 6/15/2017 AND AGAIN TODAY 11/3/2017 THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN MY FATHER OWNED THE VEHICLE AS WELL BEFORE I PURCHASED IT FROM HIM.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.

ELECTRIC FAULT STARTED A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD RESULTING IN ALL COMPONENTS TO COMPLETELY BURN. A BURNING SMELL STARTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, I CHECKED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE AND THE NEEDLE WAS UNDER THE COLD TICK. I CONTINUED DRIVING TO THE NEAREST PARKING WHICH TOOK ABOUT 1 MINUTE AND SMOKE WAS ALREADY COMING OUT VISIBLE FROM THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE AND FUEL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. WOULDN'T TURN OVER. LIGHTS AND RADIO WORKED. BATTERY, STARTER, ALT, FUSES ALL OKAY. REPLACED TIPM. WORKED FOR 2 WEEKS AND THE PROBLEM STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM OVER AND OVER SINCE 2014. WE WERE GIVEN A 'KEY' TO TRY TO START THE CAR FROM OUTSIDE UNDER THE HOOD WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT WORKED SOMETIMES, BUT NOT ALWAYS. IT'S BEEN TOWED AGAIN TODAY FOR THE SAME REASON(9/9/15). WE'VE OWNED MANY DODGE VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS AND NEVER HAD PROBLEMS LIKE WE HAVE WITH THE 2009 CALIBER. WE HAD GIVEN THIS CAR TO OUR DAUGHTER TO DRIVE FOR COLLEGE AND IT HAS LEFT HER STRANDED MANY, MANY TIMES. I'M CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS FOR 5 MONTHS. I TURN THE KEY AND THE CAR IS DEAD OR IT ATTEMPTS TO TURN OVER. USUALLY AFTER 6 - 8 TRIES IT WILL START, TWICE I HAVE BEEN STRANDED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I HAVE HAD WITNESSES IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN IT HAPPENS AND OTHERS WHO HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. CHRYSLER DEALERS REFUSE TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO FAIL AT THEIR SITE. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF SERVICE FOR OVER 20 DAYS SINCE JUNE. CHRYSLER GROUP SAYS THEY WILL REFUND PART OF THE REPAIR COSTS IF "I" CAN IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. THEY APPARENTLY CANNOT IDENTIFY IT. THE CAR NOW HAS 31,750 MILES ON IT. I NO LONGER DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT IS UNRELIABLE. SO I HAVE A $17,775 CAR WHICH I MADE PAYMENTS ON FOR 4 YEARS WHICH IS USELESS. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER. I AM DESPERATE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER NEW CAR RIGHT NOW. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW. THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO AT ABOUT 10000 MILES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 16,000. A MECHANIC SAID THE CODE INDICATED LOW VOLTAGE TO THE ABS MOTOR. THE BATTERY VOLTAGE WAS GOOD. THE DEALER AND ANOTHER MECHANIC SAID THE REPAIR WOULD BE AROUND $600 SO I DID NOT REPAIR IT.
I NOTICE A FEW AFTER MY CAR INSPECTION, WATER WAS IN MY DRIVER TAIL LIGHT HOUSING. HOUSING WAS DRAINED. THE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THE SEASONS CHANGE AND THE CAR IS WARMED UP. THE ALARM GOES OFF USUALLY WHEN IT IS WINDY. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS THE MOST COMMON. IT CAN ALSO GO ON WHEN PARKED AND CAR IS RUNNING. AS THE YEARS HAVE GONE ON, IT'S BEEN LESS PREDICTABLE. OCCASIONALLY THERE ISN'T ANY POWER WHEN I PLUG SOMETHING INTO THE CONSOLE, TOO. I'VE HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT IT MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY HAVEN'T FOUND ANYTHING. SOMETIMES THEY DON'T EVEN WRITE IT UP WHEN I'M HAVING SOMETHING ELSE REPAIRED. ALL THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME IS THAT MY AIRBAG IS DISABLED WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF, IT DOESN'T WANT TO BE SHUT OFF. IT TAKES A LOT OF TRIES SOMETIMES TO GET IT TO STOP.THE TRACTION CONTROL IS THE NEWEST THING. THAT'S BEEN ONLY FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO.
CAR ELECTRICAL HAS ISSUES FLICKERING INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS. ALSO HAS TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING ISSUES WITHOUT THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE GAUGE GOING OVER THE MIDDLE LINE OF THE GAUGE. NO SIGH OF OVER HEATING BESIDES TRANSMISSION LIGHT TURNING ON AND GOING INTO LIMP MODE. CAN NOT DRIVE LONGER THEN AN HOUR WITHOUT IT GOING INTO LIMP MODE WITH TRANSMISSION LIGHT ON. STARTED WHEN IT WAS BARELY AT 10,000 MILES.
