6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION STICKS IN GEAR AND CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DOWNSHIFTED WHEN AND DOES NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT POWER TO ACCELERATE WHEN NEEDED. THIS SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN VEHICLE IS FULLY WARMED UP. VEHICLE NOW HAVE 16,000 MILES ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ODOR OF FUEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A FRACTURE AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRACTURE RESULTED IN FUEL LEAKAGE AT THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
MY TANK HAS TO BE LEAKING BECAUSE I REMOVED MY BACK SEAT AND FOUND GAS. RECENTLY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF A CHL AND THE GAS SMELL AND THEY CLAIM THEY COULD NOT FIND THE LOCATION OF THE GAS SMELL. THEY TOLD ME I MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE CANISTER IN WHICH THEY WOULD GLADLY DO FOR $$$$. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND THE GAS WAS UNDER MY SEAT. I'M AFRAID FOR MY WIFE AND SON .
DODGE CHALLENGER RT ALTERNATOR DRAINED BATTERY UNTIL THE CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS IN MOTION. LOST ALL POWER BRAKES AND POWER STEERING.
ALTERNATOR DIED SUDDENLY OUT OF THE BLUE WHILE DRIVING. A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE HOOD WHICH GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, AND THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. ONLINE THERE ARE REPORTS OF MANY ALTERNATORS DYING PREMATURELY IN THIS MODEL OF DODGE CHALLENGER.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND WAS WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AT THE INTERSECTION. MY BATTERY APPEARED TO BE LOSING POWER AND I LOST MY POWER STEERING. I BELIEVE THE ALTERNATOR WENT BAD WHICH LED TO THE BATTERY DYING WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING ME TO LOSE POWER. THIS WAS DANGEROUS AS I COULD HAVE LOST POWER AND MAY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I WILL BE TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC TO GET THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED. I SEE DODGE HAS SOME RECALLS ON ALTERNATORS BUT NOT SURE IF IT APPLIES TO MY VEHICLE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS FUNCTIONING INDEPENDENTLY AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN. THE WINDOW HAD TO BE CRACKED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE ENERGIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR IN THE WINDOW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE ON A TRIP FOUR HOURS FROM HOME THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY DEAD HAD TO BE TOWED WE HAD TO RENT A TRUCK TO RETURN HOME NO CAR RENTALS OPEN ON SUNDAY I KNOW HAVE TO RENT A CAR TAKE FOUR HOUR TRIP BACK TO GET MY CAR I WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT ALTERNATOR WAS RECALLED ON MY VEHICLE AND I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS KNOW COST ME OVER SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS BETWEEN VEHICLE RENTALS, TOLLS AND GAS DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE BEING I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF A RECALL

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,400.
ABS LIGHT ON DASH JUST APPEARED ALONG WITH ESP/BAS, ABS, BRAKE, TRACTION LIGHTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL SPEED AND TIRE SENSORS WERE FAULTY AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000.

I WAS DRIVING HOME ON 4/17/15 IN MY 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER WHEN ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH STARTED FLASHING, THE RADIO WAS GOING ON AND OFF, THE LIGHTS WENT DIM, BUT THE SCARIEST THING WAS THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER, IT WAS STILL RUNNING BUT IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS ON 2 CYLINDERS, ALMOST GOT RAMMED BY THE CAR BEHIND ME!! HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER, WILL CALL THEM TOMORROW.THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS FLAW IN THE SYSTEM AND WILL RESULT IN FUTURE LOSS OF LIFE IF NOT CORRECTED!!!! *TR
I HAVE 2 RECALLS PENDING ON MY DODGE CHALLENGER, ONE FOR FRONT AIRBAGS FAILING AND ONE FOR THE ALTERNATOR DIODES POSSIBLY CAUSING FIRE. DODGE WANTS TO TAKE MY CAR FOR 2 DAYS BUT I HAVE NO OTHER VEHICLE. I ASKED HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO GET HOME, THEY SAID A BUS OR TAXI. I AM NOT TAKING A TAXI AN HOUR RIDE TO GET HOME, THEN TO AND FROM WORK BECAUSE THEY WANT TO RECALL MY CAR, SO I ASKED FOR A LOANER AND WAS TOLD NO. I KEEP CALLING THEIR RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER, AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEIR SYSTEM IS DOWN AND TO CALL BACK AT ANOTHER TIME. HOW IS THEIR SYSTEM ALWAYS DOWN? WHY DO I HAVE TO SPEND MONEY OUT OF POCKET ON A TEMPORARY VEHICLE SO THEY CAN FIX THEIR OWN RECALL? I CAN'T AFFORD TO RENT A CAR OR USE A TAXI (BUSSES DON'T RUN THROUGH MY AREA). MY WINDOW CONSTANTLY GOES UP AND DOWN 1/8TH INCH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND 80 2011 CHALLENGERS RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM, I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ALL BE UNDER RECALL. THE SMART GLASS OPERATION IS FAULTY. EVERY 7 SECONDS MY WINDOW MOVES 1/8TH OF AN INCH UP OR DOWN. THIS DRAINS MY BATTERY AND MAKES MY CAR DIE. RECALL REPAIR WORK WAS DONE ON THE ALTERNATOR IN 2011 DODGE CHALLENGER. ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE EXACT THING HAPPENED AGAIN. ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, IT WAS UNABLE TO BE STARTED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED FOR THE 3RD TIME TO THE DEALERSHIP. NOW THEY SAY THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE IT'S NOT DOING IT NOW. DODGE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. DODGE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP WERE USELESS IN ATTEMPTING TO HELP. THEY BASICALLY TOLD US THAT SINCE IT WASN'T DOING THAT NOW, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) WAS RECEIVED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY MUSIC CUT OFF AND THEN MY BRAKE LIGHT AND OTHER LIGHTS SUCH AS THE ONES THAT COME ON WHEN YOU INITIALLY START THE CAR. THEY STAYED ON FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES OR SO THEN THE WHOLE DASHBOARD WENT OFF AND THEN THE WHOLE VEHICLE SHUTDOWN. *TR

MY WIFE AN I WERE ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED, RUNNING 70MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BLINKED AND ALL INSTRUMENTS WENT DOWN THE CAR SHUT DOWN, THERE WASN'T ANY ELECTRICAL TO ANYTHING. I GUESS BEING A MANUAL, IT STARTED BACK UP AUTOMATICALLY. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS WHEN WE WERE ON OUR WAY HOME WE DECIDED TO TAKE A DIFFERENT WAY HOME BECAUSE THIS HAD HAPPENED, IT THEREFORE HAPPENED AGAIN SAME PROBLEM BUT WE WERE RUNNING 57. WE STOPPED AT A SONIC SHUT THE CAR OFF, WHEN WE STARTED IT BACK UP IT SOUND LIKE IT WAS STARTING OUT OF TIME, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO US AGAIN THE CLOSER WE GOT HOME. THE CAR IS PARKED AND HAS NOT BEEN MOVED. *TR
JUST GOT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION INSTRUMENT PANEL ALL LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING THEN CAR SHUT DOWN COULD NOT STEER HAD NO HAZARD LIGHTS NOTHING IT IS PART OF A CHRYSLER RECALL WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IT WAS DARK MY CAR IS BLACK AND I HAD NO WAY OF LETTING TRAFFIC KNOW I WAS THERE IF I HAD A FLARE IN THE TRUNK I COULDN'T GET TO IT AS LATCH IS ELECTRICAL AND SO IT DIDN'T WORK. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO SAID HE COULDN'T HELP ME FOR WEEKS AND NO COURTESY CAR WAS AVAILABLE TO ME AND IF IT WAS A RECALL IT COLD NOT BE FIXED BECAUSE THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE RECALL YET THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO GIVE ME PRIORITY SERVICE AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE RECALL CENTER BUT I AM TO PAY ALL CHARGES AND THEN TRY TO GET REIMBURSED FROM CHRYSLER. THE CHRYSLER CARE CENTER SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR THE NEW ALTERNATOR BUT NOT THE RENTAL OR DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE AND THAT THE SHUTDOWN COULD HAPPEN AGAIN, UNTIL THEY CAN COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THE ALTERNATOR ISSUE RECALL P60 THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE OF A FAULTY MANUFACTURED PART I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO INCUR ANY EXPENSE OR BE FORCED TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE CAR I BOUGHT THE CAR IN GOOD FAITH AND I EXPECTED IT TO BE SAFE. MY CAR WAS NOT LOOKED AT TODAY AS PROMISED HOPEFULLY TOMORROW I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY CALL BACK FROM THE DEALER. I THINK ITS CRIMINAL THAT OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES ARE EXPECTED TO DRIVE THEM UNTIL THEY CAN GET TO FIXING THE PART HAD I BEEN ON THE FREEWAY IN 70 MPH TRAFFIC I DOUBT I WOULD BE HERE TO WRITE THIS COMPLAINT. SEVERAL CARS AND SEMI TRUCKS CAME VERY CLOS TO HITTING MY CAR UNTIL A STATE TROOPER COULD GET THERE TO PROVIDE FLASHING LIGHTS WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK. AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AND OFF, SIGNALING MY AIR BAGS ARE NOT WORKING WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON. I FOUND ONLINE THAT CHRYSLER RECALLED 2011-2013 DODGE CHALLENGERS IN 2013 FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE, HOWEVER WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A DODGE DEALER, THEY SAY MY VIN IS NOT IN THE SYSTEM FOR A RECALL. BECAUSE IT'S NOT IN THE SYSTEM AS A RECALL, I AM TO PAY OUT OF POCKET? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE A FATALITY IF I AM IN A WRECK WHILE THE LIGHT IS ON. MY ALTERNATOR IS IN RECALL. IT IS SAID TO POWER DOWN WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR NOTICE, AND IT POWERED DOWN ON ME IN JANUARY. IT WAS TOWED TO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP OF PARAMUS. THEY DID NOT YET HAVE THE RECALL ALTERNATOR, SO THEY WERE AUTHORIZED TO GIVE ME A NEW ONE. THIS HOWEVER DOES NOT SATISFY THE RECALL, AND I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK WHEN THE RECALL PART IS AVAILABLE. I CAME BACK LAST WEEK, AND THEY DID NOT PERFORM THE RECALL. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PART PUT INTO THE CAR IN JANUARY IS "JUST AS GOOD" AND "SATISFIES THE RECALL". I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING BY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER, PARTS SUPERVISOR AND ULTIMATELY THEIR GENERAL MANAGER, DEAN REDMOND. EVENTUALLY, CHRYSLER CORPORATE FINALLY CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE, AND THE PART IN MY CAR IN FACT IS NOT AT ALL SAFE. FIVE SEPARATE "EXPERTS" AT THIS DEALERSHIP ERRONEOUSLY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR IS SAFE, AND LEFT ME WITH A POTENTIALLY DEADLY PART IN MY CAR. I MENTIONED THIS TO MY SON, WHO HAD THE CAR WITH HIM DURING THE TIME OF ALL THE ISSUES, HE STATED THAT HE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT, AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE "SMART WINDOW" AND OFFERED TO REPAIR IT FOR SOME CRAZY AMOUNT OF MONEY. BUT NEVER DID THEY ALLUDE TO THE FACT THAT THE SMART WINDOW WAS THE CAUSE TO MY ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY FAILURE.
