THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS TO FOLLOW-UP WITH A RESPONSE TO THE DEALER AND VEHICLE OWNER. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DEALER DUPLICATED THE CREAKING NOISE AND DIAGNOSED THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL BUSHING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
THE ACCERATOR STUCK IN DOWN POSITION, WENT TO DEALERSHIP STATED MY PEDAL WAS DEFECTIVE REPLACED IT, WHEN I TAPPED ON PEDAL IN WENT ALL THE WAY DAY, MY CARE STARTED TO SPEED PAST 100MPH ON HIGHWAY,
2016 DODGE CHALLENGER 392 ENGINE. WHEN SHIFTING THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION FROM SECOND TO THIRD GEAR, THERE IS A SEVERE HESITATION THAT LASTS A FEW SECONDS. THIS HESITATION IS SO SEVERE THAT I HAVE NEARLY BEEN INVOLVED IN 2 ACCIDENTS. ONCE WHILE TURNING LEFT IN FRONT OF ON-COMING TRAFFIC AND ONCE WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE LOSES ALL POWER FOR ABOUT 3-4 SECONDS BEFORE RESPONDING. THIS PROBLEM HAS ALSO BEEN REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS ON CHALLENGER CAR FORUMS ON THE INTERNET. PROBLEM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED ON 2016 & 2017 MODELS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY. WHEN CAR WAS ONLY 3 WEEKS OLD, DEALER KEPT CAR FOR ALMOST A MONTH TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. APRIL OF 2016. PROBLEM WENT AWAY FOR ALMOST 18 MONTHS BUT NOW HAS RETURNED IN NOVEMBER OF 2017 WORSE THAN BEFORE. DEALER, LEE DODGE IN WESTBROOK MAINE UNABLE TO FIX THE VEHICLE EVEN AFTER THEIR EXPERTS DROVE THE VEHICLE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 54 MPH, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A CEMENT MEDIAN CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FLIP OVER MULTIPLE TIMES. DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEATBELT FAILED TO SECURE THE DRIVER WHO WAS THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED FRACTURED RIBS, A FRACTURED LEFT ARM, AND FRACTURES TO BOTH LEGS. THE 3-YEAR-OLD REAR DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY. BOTH RECEIVED MEDICAL TREATMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE LOCAL DEALER CURTSY DODGE (LOCATION UNKNOWN) WAS PREVIOUSLY NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
LOST POWER STEERING, LOST STABILITY CONTROL AND ABS BRAKES DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 695. SYSTEMS CYCLED ON AND OFF EVENTUALLY REMAINED OFF. CAR DIFFICULT TO DRIVE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTFIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,670.
THE CAR STARTED DOING A REAR WHEEL HOP IN SECOND GEAR CHANGE AS ALREADY REPORTED TO DODGE. DODGE HAS OFFERED TO REPLACE THE CAR PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT VIA A MR MIKE MACDONALD. THIS WHEEL HOP WAS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TO 3 DODGE DEALERS WHO SAID THIS WAS "NORMAL". ON THE OFFER TO REPLACE THE CAR I WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL THE REPLACEMENT CAME. I SHOULD HAVE NOT TAKEN THAT OFFER. THE CAR ALMOST KILLED ME. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN ME, AS MY HEAD SLAMMED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. MULTIPLE CASES OF AIR BAGS ON THESE CARS NOT DEPLOYING HAS COME UP IN GOOGLE SEARCHES. BOTH DRIVER SIDE TIRES RUPTURES WHEN THE CAR WENT SIDEWAYS FOR THE SECOND TIME AFTER WHAT I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WAS THE THROTTLE BEING STUCK. I CAN PROVIDE IMAGES LATER AFTER THE HOSPITAL OF THE TIRE HOP MARKS. DODGE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SELLING A COFFIN ON WHEELS. ODDLY, MR. 2016 Dodge Challenger. Consumer stated that when accelerating the pedal became stuck in the down position.
WHEN I OPENED THE CAP OF MY COOLANT EXPANSION TANK, I NOTICED WHAT LOOKED LIKE RUST AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE CAP. I INSERTED MY FINGER INTO THE TANK AND FOUND RUST INSIDE THE COOLANT. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS AND CLAIMED THERE WAS NO RUST. WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SHOWED THE CAP TO THEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CAP WITH AN AFTERMARKET CAP. WHEN I WENT TO MY MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE, HE NOTIFIED ME THAT THERE SEEMED TO BE OIL IN MY COOLANT. HE PROCEEDED TO DO A HYDROCARBON TEST WHICH RESULTED 483 PPM WHICH WAS BAD FOR EMISSIONS. WE BROUGHT THIS INFORMATION TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP WHO CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AGAIN.

THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 DODGE CHALLENGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE STALLED. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT WATER ENTERED THE ENGINE MANIFOLD TROUGH THE COLD AIR INTAKE, LOCATED SIX INCHES FROM THE GROUND. THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.

DOOR WEATHERSEAL STRIP, BOUGHT CAR LATE 2016, SINCE 2017 I GET A LOUD SHARP SWISLE NOISE AT 70MPH IN OPEN AREA WITH SIDE WINDS, NOISE IT SO LOUD & SHARP & FAST THAT I HAVE ALMOST WRECKED BECAUSE IT COMES ON SO FAST & THEN GOES AWAY, DEALERSHIP HAS FINALLY DETERMINED IT'S THE WEATHERSTRIPPING THAT IS OBVIOUS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT BUT BECAUSE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY & MY EXTENDED WON'T COVER IT & THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE $300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,007.

DRIVELINE CLUNK NOISE IN REAR OF VEHICLE WHEN COMING TO A STOP BETWEEN 3 TO 6 MPH DOWNSHIFTING. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER WHAT THE ROAD SURFACE YOUR ON. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 500 MILES, AFTER I WENT TO MY COUNTY PROBATE OFFICE TO GET MY LICENCE TAG, THIS OCCURRED EVERY TIME I CAME TO A FULL STOP AT A SIGN, LIGHT OR BEHIND A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, SERVICE MANAGER CAME OUT TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS LOOSE IN TRUNK, SPARE TIRE,ETC. NO PROBLEM FOUND, I WAS TOLD TO BRING CAR BACK MONDAY MORNING FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS WHERE TECHS CAN FIND PROBLEM. I HAVE HEARD OTHERS COMPLAIN OF THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR CHALLENGERS BUT NO AVAIL, OR THEY WOULD TELL THE OWNERS THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. NO THIS IS NOT NORMAL IN THE DRIVELINE, PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE SO IT CAN BE RESOLVED WITH CHRYSLER WETHER A RECALL OR TSB NEEDS TO BE ENFORCED TO SOLVE THIS DRIVELINE ISSUE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE AND LOST SEVERAL TEETH, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2016 DODGE CHALLENGER. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CONDITION IN WHICH THE BRAKES ENGAGED WHEN NECESSARY. IN OTHER INSTANCES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS SLOW TO RESPOND RANDOMLY. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND DID NOT FULLY ENGAGE. THE CONTACT APPLIED FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ADVANCE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE APPROACHING TRAFFIC. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH AND A CONCUSSION DUE TO THE LACK OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND THE FORCE OF HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SEAT BELT ALSO DID NOT SECURE THE CONTACT, WHICH CAUSED NECK AND BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A LEFT KNEE, FINGERS AND RIGHT SIDE INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 850.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR AND AFTER I SIGNED THE PAPERS THEY LET ME INSPECT IT. I SAW SOME RUST ON THE JOINTS AND SCREWS THAT HELD THE TIRES. THEY SAID IT WAS SURFACE RUST. I TOOK IT HOME AND EXAMINED IT CLOSED. I FOUND THAT THE RUST IS VERY EXTENSIVE. IT INCLUDED THE METAL THAT HELD THE TIRE TO THE CAR AND IT GOES DEEP. THE RUST FLAKED OFF IN MY HAND. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK THE NEXT MORNING. THEY TOLD ME I COULD EXCHANGE IT FOR A SIMILAR VEHICLE BUT THAT ALL OF THEM HAD THE SAME RUST. I TOOK PICTURES OF SOME OF THE RUST. I TOLD THEM TO KEEP THE CAR AND I STOPPED PAYMENT ON THE CHECK. I THEN WENT TO THE DEALER IN ONTARIO AND I FOUND THE SAME EXTENSIVE RUSTING ON ALL OF THEIR CHALLENGERS. I BELIEVE THE DEFECT LIES WITH DODGE AND CHRYSLER. WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO SELL NEW VEHICLES WITH EXTENSIVE RUSTING TO THE PUBLIC? I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN HAVING RUST PROBLEMS SINCE AT LEAST 2007. I ALSO FOUND THAT MANY OWNERS DO NOT FIND THE RUST AS SOON AS I DID AND THEY SUFFER BECAUSE DODGE HAS DENIED RESPONSIBILITY. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION AND A RECALL TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I FEEL BAD FOR EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT THESE CARS WITHOUT KNOWING ABOUT THIS DEFECT. I TOOK SOME PICTURES.
MY 17 YEAR OLD SON'S 2016 DODGE CHALLENGER TURNS OFF WHILE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. THE IGNITION SWITCH USUALLY GOES TO ACC (SOMETIMES RUN). ALSO, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP, THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT, BRAKING IS DIFFICULT, HEATING/COOLING TURN OFF, AND ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL THE AIRBAGS BECOME INACTIVE IN ACC. MY SON HAS NEARLY HIT A TREE AND HE HAS CROSSED LANES INTO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL HAS LOCKED. THE PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING AT ABOUT 2500 MILES 04/2016. IT HAS HAPPENED FROM10 MPH TO 70 MPH. IT HAS HAPPENED 15 OR MORE TIMES AND SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN OVER 20 MILES, PARKED, AND THEN DRIVEN AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED ON ALL TYPES OF ROAD--RESIDENTIAL, CITY AND HIGHWAY. IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE BEING DRIVEN STRAIGHT AND WHEN TURNING, ON LEVEL ROADS AND UP HILLS. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER CONTACTED CHRYSLER DETROIT WITHOUT SUCCESS. THEY INSTALLED A SPECIAL DATA COLLECTING SWITCH WHICH WE MANUALLY ACTIVATED WHEN THE CAR STALLED. THE DATA WAS FORWARDED TO DETROIT FOR ANALYSIS. I HAVE ATTACHED SERVICE RECORDS. WE HAVE SUPPLIED PHOTOS OF THE INSTRUMENTATION AFTER THE CAR TURNS OFF. MY SON STARTED DRIVING WITH ONE HAND ON HIS IPHONE MAKING A VIDEO RECORDING OF THE CAR STALLING IN LATE SEPTEMBER 2016. THEY STATED THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE CAR AND HAD TO RELY ON CHRYSLER. THE NEW VIDEO WAS FORWARDED TO CHRYSLER AND A MASTER MECHANIC WAS TO REVIEW IT BUT NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. FURTHER, THEY RECOMMENDED THAT THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN AS IT IS TOO DANGEROUS. SINCE THEN, THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED. *TR

THE VEHICLE ALSO MADE A CLUNKING NOISE AS IF METAL WERE TOUCHING WHENEVER THE GEARS WERE SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND VICE VERSA, AS WELL AS WHENEVER THE CONTACT DROVE DOWNHILL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO POWAY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (13811 POWAY ROAD, POWAY, CA 92064; 858-218-2213) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBERS: 30285247 AND 31041577. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO VIEW THE BRAKES. THE INVESTIGATOR STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE NOT IN NEED OF REPAIR. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE POWAY DODGE REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBERS: 32657810 AND 32920890. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME POWAY DODGE DEALER REGARDING THE AIR BAG WARNING SENSOR, BUT THEY DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
