TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE KEY ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT. THE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER DUE TO NOT HAVING THE TOOLS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, WITHOUT WARNING THE CAR SIMPLY LOOSES POWER, SHUTS DOWN IMMEDIATELY ON THE FREEWAY, IN TRAFFIC, ANYWHERE INCLUDING ON A SHORT DRIVE; THE CAR LOOSES POWER, THE MPH DROPS TO 0, THE CAR COASTS TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, IT LOOSES POWER STEERING, THE KEY FOB IS STILL IN IGNITION, LIGHTS GO OFF, AND I HAVE TO RESTART CAR; FORMER ALLEN SAMUELS DODGE SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, BUT IT WAS NOT DOING THIS UNTIL THEY CHANGED THE KEY FOB AND RESET THE IGNITION SWITCH FOR THE NEW FOB IN 2014, IT HAS NEARLY CAUSED US TO BE RUN OVER SEVERAL TIMES WITH GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR BY 18 WHEELERS ON THE HWY, SO WE HAVE HAD AUTONATION RUN DIAGNOSIS AND SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WHEN CLEARLY IT IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG - HELP, MY NEPHEWS DODGE CHARGER DOES THE SAME THING
WHILE DRIVING THE IGNITION DISENGAGES. I CAN PLACE THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART AT THE SAME SPEED. WE HAVE SEVEN KEYS ON THE KEYRING, A D-RING, SO IT IS NOT A HEAVY KEY RING MAKING THE IGNITION TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FROM SPEEDS VARYING FROM 10 MILES TO 60 MILES AN HOUR. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STREET WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE. I PULLED OVER AND FOUND OUT THE MY COOLING FAN HAD BROKEN OFF SENDING THE BLADES INTO MY RADIATOR CAUSING THE SYSTEM TO LOSE COOLANT. I SPENT OVER 400 DOLLARS FOR REPAIRS. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FROM WHAT I READ AND I FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE REIMBURSE FOR THE COAT OF THE REPAIRS AND HAVE CHRYSLER PERFORM A CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DAMAGES IT MIGHT OF CAUSED. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED ON INTERSTATE 264 AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MPH. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE IGNITION WIN MODULE HAD FAILED WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SELECTION MODULE TO FAIL. THE FAILURE PLACED THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE IN EXTREME PERIL BECAUSE IT WAS SUDDEN AND ON A BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO PLACE TO PULL OFF OF THE ROADWAY BECAUSE OF ONGOING CONSTRUCTION. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE AND THAT THE DEALER HAD REPLACED THOUSANDS OF THESE MODULES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH NO WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT PREVIOUSLY, THE FAN AND RADIATOR FAILED TO WORK DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND THE COMPONENTS CAUGHT ON FIRE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT BURNING FUMES EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE WIRES, STARTER AND IGNITION SWITCH WERE ON FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MERGE THE VEHICLE OVER AND IT WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS INCLUDED BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V567000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT. I RECENTLY BEEN DRIVING (CHARGER)TO WORK BECAUSE MY OTHER CAR WAS IN THE SHOP SO I WAS LEAVING WORK ONE DAY AND I HEAR A NOISE THAT WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR I HAD IT TOWED SO I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY TOLD MY IT WAS A ROD AND I SAID WAS THAT AND HOW DID THAT COULD OF HAPPEN THEY EXPLAIN TO ME SO THAN I TOOK IT TO TWO MORE SHOP AND EVERYBODY SAID THE SAME THING THAT MY VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAIN AND THAT THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

WE RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL P57/NHTSA 14V-567 ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO IN REGARDS TO THE CAR'S FOBIK AND AIRBAGS AND TO DATE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE DEALER REPAIR THIS DEFECT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR A REPAIR ON THIS ISSUE AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE.
MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH, CONTROL MODULE
THERE WAS A LOUD KNOCKING COMING FROM MY CAR, I THEN HAD PLACED CAR INTO BE SERVICE TO CHECK OUT KNOCKING. ONCE THE TOP OF ENGINE WAS TORN DOWN, THEY FOUND THE PIN TO THE ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY WAS CRACKED AND CALL DODGE DEALER TO ORDER PART AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A ON GOING PROBLEM WITH DODGE 3.5 V-6 ENGINE. PARTS WHERE AROUND 800 AND TOTAL BILL WAS AROUND 1200. UPON PICKING UP CAR LEARNED THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER DODGE IN THE REPAIR SHOP BEING FIXED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND SHOP OWNER INFOR ME THE AFTER THEY CHECKED INTO IT. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM FOR THIS ENGINES. AND STATED WHEN THE CALLED THE DEALER FOR THE PART, THE PARTS DEPARTMENT KNEW JUST WHAT PART THEY NEEDED AND DID NOT EVEN HAVE TO LOOK THE PART UP, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. THIS IS A EVERY EXPENSIVE FIX THAT DODGE SHOULD MAKE RIGHT AND REPLACE THESE PARTS THAT FAIL REPEATEDLY IN THESE ENGINES. THE WORSE PART IS DODGE KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM. THEY HAVE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PARTS DEPARTMENT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO LOOK UP THE PART OR PART NUMBER FOR ORDERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW I HAVE PLACE MY CAR BACK INTO THE REPAIR SHOP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. *TR
WAS PULLING INTO A GAS STATION AND THE ENGINE STALLED. WENT TO START IT AND WOULD NOT START HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE STARTER. AS SOON AS IT STARTED UP THERE WAS A KNOCK ON THE ENGINE. AS THE MECHANIC CLAIMED IT'S "ROD KNOCK" AND CLAIMED THAT THE OIL WAS NEVER REPLACE. THE PLACE THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM DID THE OIL CHANGE AND HAVE PROOF THEY DID IT. THE ENGINE RAN FINE BEFORE HAND AND NO LONGER OPERATES CORRECTLY. *TR

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT AND AIR BLEEDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
IGNITION ISSUE, WOULDN'T START. DODGE REPLACED THE MODULE, IGNITION AND ADDITIONAL FOB'S. I PAID $806.21 TO PAY FOR REPAIR. IN DECEMBER 2014 I RECEIVED A RECALL P57/NHTSA 14V-567 STATING RECALL OF A FOBIK. IT SAYS I CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL PARTS COME IN BUT IF I ALREADY HAD IT REPAIRED I THINK I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED.
DODGE HAS A RECALL P57 NHTSA 14V-567 AND NO PARTS. IT HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE DECEMBER 2014. I FIXED MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE RECALL IN DECEMBER OF 2013. DODGE WILL NOT REFUND MY MONEY UNTIL THE PARTS COME IN.
I TURNED ON THE CAR AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON. IT DID NOT TURN OFF AND CONTINUED TO BE ON UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON. AND AS SOON AS YOU TURN IT BACK ON THE RPM'S ON THE CAR TOUCH 3000. THE COMPANY CLAIMS THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, I HAVE LOOKED ON FORUMS AND FOUND NO SOLUTION. THIS IS A MAJOR DEFECT WITHIN THE PRODUCT. *TR
CAR FAILED TO START. BATTERY WAS TESTED AND WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. ALTERNATOR WAS IN GOOD SHAPE AS WELL. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND THERE WAS A BACKLOG WITH OBTAINING A NEW SWITCH. HE COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE OF HOW LONG I WILL BE WITHOUT THE CAR. IT WILL BE AT LEAST FIVE DAYS UNDER THE BEST CIRCUMSTANCES.... THIS INCIDENT IS ONE OF A STREAM OF CONTINUED REPAIRS THAT HAVE BEEN COSTLY.... SEARCHING ON LINE IT IS APPARENT THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME TYPE ISSUES.... VEHICLE SHUT OFF/STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING OR MAKING A STOP. MANY OTHER PEOPLE OWNING DODGE CARS, CHARGER, CHALLENGER, AND SOME OTHER MODELS HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR YEARS. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME 4 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2012, THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE BRAKING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE CAR STALLED COMPLETELY ALL MY DASH LIGHTS CAME ON I HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE ENGINE. VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH IGNITION SWITCH, SOMETIMES AS SOON AS I START THE CAR THEN ENGINE WILL DIE. I THOUGHT INITIALLY THAT I WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG AND I LET IT PASS BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS NOT HEAVILY USED, BUT STARTED SEEING ONLINE THAT PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. I TRIED SWITCHING KEYFOBS BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. FORTUNATELY, I'VE NEVER HAD THE ENGINE DIE ON ME WHILE DRIVING, BUT SEEMS LIKE IT COULD HAPPEN. I NOW HAVE REMOVED EVERYTHING FROM MY KEY CHAIN FOR THIS CAR AND BASICALLY DRIVE THE CAR WITH ONLY A VERY LIGHT KEY RING ATTACHED TO THE KEY. I ALSO HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED SINCE THE RECALL NOTICE CAME TO ME. THAT WAS LAST YEAR! I'VE REPEATEDLY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CLAIM THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR THIS RECALL. A FEW WEEKS AGO (TODAY IS 9/24/2015) I GOT A NEW NOTICE TO TAKE THE CAR IN, CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, GOT THE CAR IN THE SHOP; SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED ME IN THE AFTERNOON STATING THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT HAVE PARTS!! AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY'LL BE AVAILABLE. THIS RECALL (P57) AND (R25) ARE ISSUES THAT CAN CAUSE LOSS OF FUNCTION WITHOUT WARNING. I STOPPED MY DODGE CHARGER IN THE GAS STATION PARKING LOT. I JUST FINISHED WASHING MY CHARGER AND WAS ON MY WAY TO A CAR SHOW. I READ THE NOTIFICATION AND LEARNED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THIS NOTIFICATION. MY DODGE CHARGER WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN FLORIDA AND I BOUGHT IT IN FLORIDA. MY CHARGER WAS MANUFACTURED ON 10/10/2007 AND MY CHARGER IS A 2008. I FELT LIKE MY CAR WAS COVERED BY THIS NOTIFICATION IN SEVERAL WAYS. CHRYSLER HAS A MAJOR BACK ORDER ON THIS PART AND HAS NO IDEA WHEN THEY CAN GET THE PART TO THE DEALERSHIPS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. THERE ARE OVER 1000 VEHICLES CURRENTLY WITH ISSUE ACROSS THE USA. I HAVE CHECKED WITH DEALERSHIPS FROM NJ AS FAR AS MO AFTER THEY CHECK THE DATABASE IN THE PARTS DEPARTMENT I GET THE SAME ANSWER NO PART IN STOCK. *TR
