FIRST, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WIRING MELTS. I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND OUT THEIR IS RECALL ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND IT GOING TO TAKE 14 WEEKS FOR ME TO GET MY VEHICLE REPAIRED. SECOND, THE BATTERY SAVER MODE MESSAGE APPEARS. I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY CHECK THE BATTERY AND IT WAS DEAD, SO I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY ONLY TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TO STOP ON ME AGAIN. THIS TIME I'M TOLD IT'S THE ALTERNATOR BUT NONE ARE IN STOCK ANYWHERE! I ALSO FIND OUT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY 2011 DODGE CHARGERS. WHAT DOES CHRYSLER DO ABOUT IT - NOTHING, SAD. *TR
TL * THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V101000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHO DID NOT HAVE AN IDEA OF WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE REPAIR WAS NOT TAKEN CARE OF IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. THE CONTACT WAS EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED.

MY RADIO WENT OUT FIRST I DIDN'T THINK NOTHING OF IT, BUT WHEN I GOT CLOSER TO HOME MY CAR STARTED MAKING WEIRD NOISES AND THEN MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON MY STABILITY LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL THE AC WENT OFF AND CAME ON STARTED BLOWING HOT BURNING AIR, LUCKY I MADE IT CLOSE TO THE DEALERSHIP CAUSE THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED ON ME I COULDN'T STEER IT. I HAD NO POWER TO TURN, I'M HAPPY I DIDN'T GET HURT OR HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. *TR
A SAFETY RECALL (P08) WAS ISSUED STARTING 5/9/14. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR WIRING HARNESS INSEPCTION ON 6/25/14 BECAUSE RIGHT SIDE HEADLIGHT HAD JUST GONE OUT. DEALERSHIP INSPECTED, BUT DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK TO REPLACE BAD HARNESS. WAS PUT ON A WAITING LIST FOR PARTS AS DEALERSHIP STATES THEY ONLY GET ONE SET OF PARTS PER WEEK FROM CHRYSLER FOR THIS RECALL. AS OF TODAY, 9/2/14, I AM STILL ON THE WAITING LIST. IN THE MEANTIME, I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER AND TICKETED FOR A NON-WORKING HEADLIGHT. MY CONCERN IS DRIVING AT NIGHT AND WORRYING WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE OTHER HEADLIGHT GOES OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL AND I CAN'T GET MY CAR FIXED BECAUSE CHRYSLER ISN'T SENDING ENOUGH PARTS TO DEALERSHIPS. IS IT GOING TO TAKE A CRASH WITH INJURIES OR FATALITIES IN ORDER FOR PARTS TO BECOME AVAILABLE? I WILL REFUSE TO PAY ANOTHER TICKET AND I DON'T HAVE THE OPTION TO NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE ISSUE I AM REALLY COMPLAINING ABOUT IS THAT THE LUG WRENCH SUPPLIED BY THE DEALER DOESN'T FIT THE LUG NUTS. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO GET A RESOLUTION FROM THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAUSE WAS SWELLING OF THE LUG NUTS WHICH IS A "MANUFACTURER DEFECT" AND THAT I BETTER KEEP A 4 WAY IN THE CAR IN CASE I WERE TO BREAK DOWN. THERE IS ALSO ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSE THE RADIO AND DASHBOARD NOT TO LIGHT UP OR DISPLAY PERIODICALLY WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE. SINCE THESE ITEMS ARE FULLY INTEGRATED WITH THE SO MUCH WITH THE VEHICLE IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO TRAVEL SAFELY WHEN THIS OCCURS. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD NO MODIFICATIONS OF ANY TYPE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME AT HWY SPEED (70MPH) WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY AC START BLOWING HOT THEN THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON THEN THE ANTISLIDE LIGHT CAME ON. I SLOWED DOWN TO SIXTY THEN MY SPEEDDOMETER STARTED JUMPING FROM 0 TO 80 THEN IT STOPPED WORKING TOTALLY. AS I TRIED TO GET IN THE SLOW LANE, SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF SOMEWHERE. BY THIS TIME THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE AN ALL MY ELECTRICAL ITEMS WERE BLANK. THE CAR WAS PRETTY MUCH COSTING AT THIS POINT. I CALLED A TWO DODGE DEALERSHIPS AS I WAITED ON A TOW AN THEY IMMDIATELY SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR AN THE ISSUE IS COMMON WITH THE 2011 DODGE CHARGERS.. MY ISSUE IS, SINCE THE DEALERSHIP KNOWS THIS AN THEY ARE CONSTANTLY REPAIRING THE ALTERNATOR, THEN WHY HAVENT DODGE RECALLED THE PART..I KNOW THE DEALERSHOP HAS TO ORDER THE PARTS THROUGH THEM (DODGE).IF I WASNT ABLE TO COAST TO THE RIGHT BEFORE MY STEERING COLUM LOCK, THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN BAD. I AM A SINGLE MOM WHO NOW HAS TO PAY 500 PLUS FOR THE PART ON TOP OF LABOR.. PLUS BEING WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION FOR ALMOST A WEEK DUE TO A BAD ALTERNATOR ON A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD CAR. *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND ALTERNATOR IN TWO YEARS BOTH BURNED UP. CHARGER 2011 MODEL SUCKS BIG TIME. SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. CHRYSLER SHOULD RECALL THE ALTERNATOR. I KNOW OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM...UPDATED 07/23/14 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE DAY THE ALTERNATOR BURNED UP, THE VEHICLE WAS LOOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL. THE RADIO AND DASHBOARD GREW DIM AND THEN WENT BLANK. THE REAR TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED EVERY 2-3 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE THEY AGREED SOMETHING WAS WRONG, FOR THE TIRES TO BE WEARING PREMATURELY. SHE WAS TOLD, IT WAS THE TOW-BAR, AND THE REPAIR COST WAS $640. HOWEVER, THE DEALER PAID HALF OF THE REPAIR. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE REAR TIRES STILL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, EVERY 2-3 MONTHS. THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKED FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS. THE DRIVER SIDE HEAD LIGHTS BURNED OUT EVERY TWO WEEKS. UPDATED 1/14/2015 *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO UNLATCH THE BUCKLE OF THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT. IN ADDITION, THE HORN FAILED AND WAS NO LONGER OPERABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM, TIE ROD END, AND WHEEL BEARING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN THE BATTERY MODE ICON FLASHED. THEN THE LIGHTS, RADIO, AIR CONDITIONER WENT OFF, IN THAT ORDER. I TURNED ON MY SIGNAL LIGHT SO THAT I COULD PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO START MAKING A WHIRLING SOUND. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID THE BEARINGS IN THE ALTERNATOR WERE GOING BAD. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE OF DODGE AND THE FACT THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM SHOULD BE A RED FLAG FOR THEM. MY CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD. DODGE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A WHINING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA AND SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE VENTS. THE CONTACT TURNED THE ENGINE OFF TO CHECK UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THERE WAS SMOKE EMITTING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS SMOKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,400.
WAS DRIVING OUR 2011 DODGE CHARGER ABOUT 45 MILES AN HOUR ON FLORIDA ROUTE 441/OBT AT 6:30PM ON SUNDAY JUNE 1 WHEN FIRST THE RADIO STARTED TURNING OFF AND ON, THEN THE ODOMETER STARTED MOVING WILDLY ON THE DIAL, FOLLOWED BY THE AC SYSTEM FAILING AND FINALLY THE ENGINE. IT WAS A SCARY EXPERIENCE, HAD TO PUT CAR IN PARK IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE DOORS TO GET OUT, THEN CAR WAS LOCKED IN PARK SO COULD NOT BE PUSHED - JUMPED THE CAR JUST ENOUGH TO MOVE IT TO NEUTRAL SO IT COULD BE PUSHED INTO A PARKING SPACE. BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY, AFTER 20 MINUTES DRIVING "VERY LOW" BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. SO KNEW IT WASN'T THE BATTERY. THEN BOUGHT A NEW ALTERNATOR, AFTER IT INSTALLED PAID FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AT THE DEALERSHIP WHICH IDENTIFIED 15 ERROR MESSAGES IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SINCE THEN NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR ANYWHERE BUT QUICK CLOSE-BY ERRANDS. SAW A NEWS REPORT THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM, SO I DECIDED WE NEEDED TO BE COUNTED TOO AND FILED THIS REPORT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2011 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY SAVER MODE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE OIL PUMP WAS FRACTURED. THE OIL PUMP WAS REPLACED, AND THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REFRAIN FROM UTILIZING THE FEATURES OF THE VEHICLE SUCH AS THE A/C, RADIO, AND BLUETOOTH AT THE SAME TIME. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE AND VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
ON THE ABOVE TIME, I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE ON MY WAY TO PICK UP MY CHILDREN FROM DAY CARE, WHEN THE BATTERY MODE ICON FLASHED. THEN THE LIGHTS, RADIO, AIR CONDITIONER WENT OFF, IN THAT ORDER. I TURNED ON MY SIGNAL LIGHT SO THAT I COULD PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO START MAKING A WHIRLING SOUND, STARTED SMOKING, AND THEN I COULD SEE FIRE. THANK GOD OTHER PEOPLE SAW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND ALLOWED ME TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER SAFELY WITHOUT GETTING INJURED. I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AND HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OF INCIDENTS LIKE THIS REPORTED. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 3, MY CAR IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD, THIS IS RIDICULOUS, NOW I AM OUT OF 850 PLUS 100 TO TOW IT. DODGE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. FIX THIS. *TR

THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE HIGH BEAMS AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V101000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VISIBILITY) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,712.

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE AN EXPECTED DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WAS TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DELAY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON CRASH AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
ON ENGINE START I HEARD A WHINE COME FROM THE ENGINE. POPPED THE HOOD AND IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS DEAD CENTER OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID THE BEARINGS IN THE ALTERNATOR WERE GOING BAD. IT'S A NEWER LOW MILEAGE CAR, HARD TO FIND A ALTERNATOR LOWER THAN $500. WHILE WAITING FOR THE ORDER TO COME IN I STARTED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE AND THE LANGUAGE ON THE SCREENS ARE IN GERMAN ABS AND TRACTION LIGHTS ARE ON AND NOW THE ALTERNATOR IS SMOKING. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE OF DODGE AND THE FACT THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM SHOULD BE A RED FLAG FOR THEM. *TR
DODGE DEALER IS REFUSING TO REPAIR A RECALL ISSUED: PO8 / NHTSA / 14V-101. THE DEALERS EXCUSE IS THAT CHRYSLER CORP. IS ONLY ALLOWING 2 SHIPMENTS OF RECALL REPAIR PARTS PER WEEK. CHRYSLER CORP. ALSO DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF RECALLS: 12V042000, 12V197000, 13V118000. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY 61 ON MAY 13,2014 I NOTICED MY WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAD NO WHERE TO PULL OVER SO APPROX., 10 MILES LATER THE BATTERY SAFE MODE CAME ON AND THEN I STARTED SMELLING SOMETHING BURNING. I PULLED OVER AND CALLED TO HAVE SOMEONE TAKE MY CAR BACK TO TOWN. I THEN NEEDED TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR BEFORE THE CAR WOULD RUN AGAIN. THEN ON 7/8/2014 THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM PROCEEDED TO HAPPEN AGAIN AD THIS TIME I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MEINEKE WHERE THEY ENDED UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY AGAIN AT ANOTHER COST OF $1,148.66 ON TOP OF THE FIRST $803.16 THAT I HAD PUT INTO THE CAR A MONTH EARLIER. THIS CAR GOT SO HOT AND YOU COULD TELL THERE WAS OBVIOUSLY AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEM BUT ALL ANYONE WOULD SAY IS THAT ITS STARTING AT THE ALTERNATOR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V101000(HEADLIGHTS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PARTS DELAY OR THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
A MESSAGE ICON APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING "POWER SAVER MODE" I DIDN'T DO WHAT IT WAS SO I WAS GOING TO LOOK IT UP AFTER I GOT OF WORK.I PARKED MY CAR AND WENT TO WORK. WHEN I CAME OUT TO GO ON MY LUNCH BREAK MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW ALTERNATOR AND I ASKS IF I WAS COVERED AND THEY SAID NO EVEN THOUGH I HAVE ONLY 42,200 MILES.I LOOKED UP TO SEE AND SAW SEVERAL PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE ALTERNATOR ARE TO SMALL FOR DODGE CHARGERS AND CAUSES THEM TO BURN OUT FAIRLY QUICKLY AND EVEN SOME HAVE CAUSED ALTERNATOR TO CATCH FIRE. *TR
I WAS SENT A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN MAY 2014. I CALLED THE GURNEE DODGE DEALER I MAY TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT AND MAKE SURE THEY HAD THE PARTS. FIRST THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR DIDN'T NEED TO BE REPAIRED. THEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS CAME IN. I HAVE BEEN CALLING AND THEY HAVE BEEN BLOWING ME OFF. MY CAR STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE HEADLIGHT WIRING. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V101000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED WAS UNAVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER THE RECALL. I RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR ON MY 2011 DODGE CHARGER AT A TOTAL PERSONAL COST OF MORE THAN $800. CONSIDERING THAT MOST PEOPLE THESE DAYS DON'T HAVE THIS TYPE OF MONEY JUST SITTING AROUND, IT WAS A VERY TROUBLING SITUATION. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE BEGAN SLOWING DOWN WITHOUT ME BREAKING AND THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYS STARTED FLICKERING. BATTERY SAVE MODE WAS DISPLAYED AND THE CAR STARTING MAKING A LOUD WHINING SOUND. THAT WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THROUGH THE FRONT VENTS. OF COURSE I WAS EXTREMELY ALARMED AND AT THE SAME TIME OTHER VEHICLES WERE HONKING AT ME BECAUSE MY CAR WAS GOING SO SLOW AND I WAS IN EVERYONE'S WAY. THE BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE WERE SO BAD THAT I JUST KNEW SOMETHING HAD TO BE ON FIRE. I STOPPED MY VEHICLE IN THE STREET AND SIGNALED FOR DRIVERS TO GO AROUND ME. I CALLED A TOWING COMPANY TO HAVE THE CAR TAKEN TO THE SHOP SINCE I OBVIOUSLY WOULD NOT BE CONTINUING MY COMMUTE HOME. THE SHOP INFORMED MY THAT MY ALTERNATOR WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THAT WAS NEWS THAT NO CAR OWNER WANTS TO HEAR. THE COST TO ME WOULD BE OVER $800 BECAUSE AN AFTERMARKET ALTERNATOR DID NOT EXIST FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL. THIS ENTIRE MATTER HAS HAD ME SCARED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT AND PISSED AT THE TIME OF THE BILL. I HAVE SEEN TONS AND TONS OF COMPLAINTS ON BOTH THIS WEBSITE AND ONLINE IN GENERAL REGARDING THE BAD ALTERNATORS ON THE 2011 DODGE CHARGERS. IT'S RIDICULOUS THAT DODGE/CHRYSLER HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR ALTERNATORS THAT WERE INSTALLED ON THESE MODELS SO THAT CONSUMERS CAN EITHER AVOID THIS SITUATION OR BE COMPENSATED FOR THE CRAZY AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE HAVE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED. AN INDIVIDUAL WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE FOR THE CONTACT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE AND SPREAD ACROSS THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE BURNED AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE ALTERNATOR WENT BAD AT 64,000 MILES IN WHICH IT COMPLETELY KILLED MY BATTERY. NOW I HAVE REPLACED THE HEADLIGHTS, BATTERY, AND ALTERNATOR. WHAT IS CHRYSLER WAITING ON TO RECALL THESE ISSUES? APPARENTLY THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. DO WE NEED TO WAIT UNTIL SEVERAL CONSUMERS HAVE ACCIDENTS OR MAYBE DIE BEFORE SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING ABOUT VEHICLES AND THEIR RECALLS? I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 35 MPH TO GROCERY STORE AND A 'BATTERY SAVER MODE' MESSAGE CAME ON. I MADE IT TO THE STORE AND WHEN I CAME BACK OUT, CAR STARTED FINE. WHILE TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE ROADWAY, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND I BARELY MADE IT OUT OF TRAFFIC. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, SAT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND TRIED TO START IT AGAIN --NOTHING. HAD TO GET DEALER TO COME TOW IT. WHEN I MADE IT TO DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY THE ALTERNATOR AS THAT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE CHARGERS. I ASKED HOW MANY HAVE THEY REPLACED AND THEY SAID LOTS AND LOTS. I WAS WITHOUT MY CAR FOR 2 DAYS TO GET IT REPAIRED. THIS COST ME NOT ONLY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, BUT ALSO CAR RENTAL FOR THE 2 DAYS. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW, ONLY 18 MILES ON IT AND IN 2 YEARS I'M HAVING THIS LARGE OF A REPAIR? I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY 2014 AND SAW LAMP REPLACEMENT DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM IN THE CARFAX SO 3 TIMES THIS BULB HAS BEEN REPLACED SINCE JANUARY. THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. I HAPPEN TO WORK FOR CHRYSLER AND AM AN ELECTRICIAN AND KNOW THE POTENTIAL OF THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS A LOOSE CONNECTION WHICH CAUSE EXCESSIVE HEAT. I PUT DIELECTRIC GREASE ON THE CONNECTOR TO HELP WITH THE CONDITION. TIME WILL ONLY TELL IF THIS HELPS.
