MY 2012 DODGE CHARGER (BOUGHT NEW) WHEN TURNING SHARP TO LEFT, U TURN IT GETS STUCK AND HARD TO TURN. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL DODGE CHARGER OWNERS, DIFFERENT YEAR BUT SAME MODEL AND MAKE CAR OWNERS WHO HAS OR HAD SAME PROBLEMS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, IT COSTS THOUSANDS TO FIX AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WITH DODGE AND RECALL SENT OUT ON CARS IMMEDIATELY. THIS PROBLEM NOT TURNING AND STEERING GETTING STUCK COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT!
SEALED TRANSMISSION MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO ADJUST FLUID LEVELS THAT CAN KEEP TRANSMISSION FROM FREEZING AND LOCKING UP. CURRENTLY MY VEHICLE HAS A HORRIBLE BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND SHIFTING IS BECOMING IRRADIC WITH CAN CAUSE TRAFFIC ISSUES. IT OCCURS MOSTLY IN TOWN DRIVING AFTER STOPPING FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME (STREET LIGHTS). RECENTLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE P0208 CODE.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Charger. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V018000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact stated that she was approached by a door-to-door representative of the manufacturer to schedule a home visit by a technician to replace the air bag inflator however, the representative never returned. Parts distribution disconnect.
Had catastrophic engine failure at 100k miles doing 70mph. I believe it was timing chain failure. Replaced the engine with a refurbished engine and now have the exact same problem. It seems like the MDS system is the main cause for this to keep happening so why isn’t this a recall issue. These engines are not cheap to replace

DULUTH DODGE INC (4755 MILLER TRUNK HWY, DULUTH, MN 55811, (218) 720-6123) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V101000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
WAS PUTTING GASOLINE IN MY 2012 DODGE CHARGER AND IT WOULD ONLY TAKE A SMALL AMOUNT OF FUEL BEFORE SPITTING IT BACK OUT AT YOU WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS BUT NOT FOR THE 2012 MODEL CHARGER SXT 3.6 LITER. THE DEALER IS CHARGING ME OVER $1,700 DOLLARS TO FIX AND THE 2006 THROUGH 2011 HAVE THIS ISSUE. WE HAD THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE WITH OUR 2005 DODGE DURANGO AND IT WAS RECALLED AND FIXED TWICE. IT STARTED DOING IT AT AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE AS WE NOW HAVE ON THE CHARGER. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR FUEL TO BE SPIT OUT ON YOU AS YOU ATTEMPT TO FUEL THE VEHICLE.
CAR WON'T START SOMETIMES. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WILL BE ON WHEN I GET TO MY CAR BUT WONT RECOGNIZE MY KEY. THE LIGHTS WILL BLINK ON AND THE WIPERS WILL COME ON THEN STALL. I HAVE TO GET A JUMP CONSTANTLY. THE BATTERY IS NEW SO IT ISN'T THAT. I HAD THE CAR TESTED AT AUTO ZONE AND IT READ FINE. I WAS ADVISED TO GET THE FUSES CHECKED. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC HE SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. THE CAR IS ALWAYS IS ALWAYS IN STATIONARY WHEN IT DOES THIS. LUCKILY I HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS WHILE ON THE ROAD YET. THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING ALSO A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THIS PROBLEM. IT WOULD GLITCH ON AND OFF. THE SCREEN WILL STILL DO THIS BUT THE SOUND ISN'T WORKING AT ALL.
AT UNDER 30,000 MILES MY VEHICLE STARTED TO MAKE ODD RUSTLING NOISE AND THE RPM NEEDLE WAS BOUNCING UP & DOWN IN LOW RPMS AND NEAR IDLE. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO BAYSIDE CHRYSLER DODGE AND THEY FAILED TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE, INFORMING ME THERE WAS NO ISSUE APPARENT. AT JUST OVER 49,000 MILES (2 YEARS LATER) THE ENGINE SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AND HAD TO BE DISMANTLED. THE SAME DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED THAT THE LIFTERS WERE SEIZED AND THE CAM WAS SCORCHED. NEW LIFTERS, A GASKET KIT, AND A CAM WERE INSTALLED, INCLUDING RESURFACING OF THE VALVES AND NEW TAPPETS. IN 2018 @ AROUND 71,000 MILES THE VEHICLE BEGAN SUFFERING THE SAME NOISE - MOST PROMINENTLY BETWEEN 900-1500 RPMS. THE CURRENT DEALERSHIP HAS CONDUCTED 8 DIAGNOSTICS AND CHANGED OUT THE TRANSMISSION, TRANSFER CASE, THE FRONT & REAR DRIVE SHAFTS, THE MDS, THE WATER PUMP, THE FRONT ARM AND OTHER COMPONENTS WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS IN REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE RUSTLING / PUTTERING / CLIPPING SOUND IS VERY PRONOUNCED AND EASILY DUPLICATED WHEN DECELERATING TO 20MPH. THE NEEDLE ALSO BOUNCES IN IDLE DESPITE A NEW TRANSMISSION BEING INSTALLED IN DECEMBER 2018 AND A NEW TRANSFER CASE IN AUGUST 2019. THE CURRENT DEALERSHIP (SOUTH SHORE CHRYSLER DODGE) HAS CONDUCTED OVER 8 SEPARATE DIAGNOSTICS BY A HANDFUL OF THEIR MECHANICS, BUT TO DATE HAS NEVER INSPECTED THE INTERNAL ENGINE COMPONENTS. I HAVE OPENED UP NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS WITH FCA AND AWAIT CORPORATE RESPONSE TO THE SHOP SINCE APRIL 2019 BUT THEY CITE COVID RESTRICTIONS HAVE CREATED THE INABILITY TO FURTHER ASSIST. MY CASE MANAGER STATES FCA ISSUES RECALLS BASED ON CUSTOMER REPORTS, AND LIFTER FAILURE IS UNCOMMON WITH 5.7L HEMI ENGINES - CONTRARY TO MY RESEARCH ON CHARGER, CHALLENGER, AND RAM FORUMS (SPECIFICALLY EQUIPPED WITH 5.7L HEMIS) TELLING OTHERWISE. WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, VEHICLE DISPLAYED WARNING LIGHTS AND STALLED. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE THE GEAR SHIFT WAS LOCKED IN PARK POSITION. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN HAD LOCKED UP. I AM AWARE THAT THERE WAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION SENT OUT BY CHRYSLER, BUT WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT IT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THAT MY VEHICLE DIDN'T FALL UNDER THAT NOTIFICATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 103,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM WORK ON 18 NOVEMBER 2018 MY VEHICLES RADIO BECAME INTERMITTENT ON ALL SETTINGS. BLUETOOTH, AUXILLARY, SATTELITE AND REGULAR RADIO HAD AN INTERRUPTION IN THE AUDIO AT REGULAR INTERVALS. I SMELLED AN ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL AND PULLED OVER. I POPPED THE TRUNK AND THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE FUSEBOX NEXT TO THE REAR TIRE. THE RADIO AMPLIFIER FUSE HAD MELTED ITSELF INTO THE FUSEBOX AND WAS CONTINUING TO SHORT. CHARGER HAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR ALTERNATOR SCHEDUALED FOR SERVICE 26 DECEMBER 2018
IT WAS IN DRIVE AND WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR IT REFUSE TO GET INTO GEAR AND WENT BACK INTO PARK AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO PUT IT IN GEAR OR REVERSE IT WOULDN'T DO EITHER AND THE SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT BOTH CAME ON AND I HAD TO LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 15 OR 20 MINUTES BEFORE IT WOULD GET INTO A GEAR FOR ME TO DRIVE IT....AND THIS WAS AFTER THE SAFETY RECALL FOR THE GEAR SHIFTER SO I FEEL THAT STILL HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY GEAR SHIFTER THAT THEY DID THE RECALL ON...IT DIDNT START HAPPENING UNTIL THAT SAFETY SHIFT WENT INTO PARK WHEN I OPEN MY DOOR AND IT WOULDNT GO INTO ANOTHER GEAR AFTER THAT....

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE POWER BLOCK UNDER THE HOOD WAS SMOKING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). CROWN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM CLEVELAND (511 S LEE HWY, CLEVELAND, TN 37311, (844) 367-4258) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
MY 2012 DODGE CHARGER IS HAVING THE SAME LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ISSUE AS THE RECALL POSTED 5/2/2014 FOR MY YEAR. HOWEVER, WHEN I LOOK UP MY VIN NUMBER, ITS SAYING THERE IS NO ACTIVE RECALLS.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON - AFTER SCAN, CODE P0128 APPEARS INDICATING THAT THE COOLANT THERMOSTAT HAD A FAULT. ACCORDING TO SERVICE TECH, MOST COMMON SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (ECT). THIS APPARENTLY IS VERY A COMMON ERROR ON ALL MOPAR ENGINES MODEL YEARS 2006-2012 OR SO AND THIS HAPPENS ON A LOT OF THEM. SINCE THIS IS APPARENTLY A MISTAKE ON MOPAR'S PART AND IS VERY COMMON FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL, IT SHOULD BE PAID FOR AT THE DEALERS EXPENSE. I WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR THIS WAS A SOMEWHAT KNOWN ISSUE BUT THAT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ENACTED FOR IT.
PASSENGER HID LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS OFF. AFTER A PERIOD OF THE VEHICLE BEING SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED THE LIGHT WILL COME BACK O BUT WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL ON THE WIRING HARNESS, BUT NOTHING IS SHOWING ON MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE FOR THE RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL ONE MORNING AS I GOT INTO MY CAR TO HEAD TO WORK, I STARTED HEARING THIS CLICKING NOISE. IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 1 MIN., THEN IT STOPPED. I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND AGAIN. I WAS NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS SEEING AS I BASICALLY HAVE HAD JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING REPLACED IN MY VEHICLE DUE TO ALL THESE RECALLS OVER THE YEARS. AFTER RESEARCHING, I NOTICED SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. I KNOW THE DODGE RAM ACTUALLY HAD A RECALL. FOUND OUT IT WAS THE ACTUATOR. THE AMOUNT OF TIME THE CLICKING NOISE LAST HAS GOTTEN LONGER AND IT WILL RANDOMLY START EVEN AFTER MY CAR IS NO LONGER RUNNING AND JUST SITTING IDLE. THIS IS SO ANNOYING CONSIDERING I KNOW I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO MY CAR TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE AND I'M SURE ITS A MANUFACTORY'S ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. THIS NOISE IS LOUD ,ANNOYING AND EMBARRASSING, AND I DON'T WANT TO PAY A TON OF MONEY TO REPLACE A $40 PART, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ISSUE IS HAPPENING TO MULTIPLE VEHICLES.
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN ECO MODE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. DEALER SAID THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED. SPEED WAS ABOUT 70-75 MPH
PDC AND AC WIRING MELTED TOGETHER. WIRE HARNESS IS PART OF HEADLAMP TO DASH HARNESS. AC WILL GO IN AND OUT ON IT'S OWN. WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP IT REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF PDC AND HEADLAMP TO DASH WIRING HARNESS. PDC AND WIRED SHOULD NOT MELT TOGETHER CAUSING EXPOSED WIRES
TAKATA INFLATORS WE BROUGHT OUR CAR TO LAKELAND DODGE IN FLORIDA AS SCHEDULED, TO HAVE THIS RECALL FIXED. AFTER 4HOURS OF WAITING THEY SAID THEY DID THE REPAIR TO CORRECT IT. WE CHECKED THE DATABASE ON THIS SITE AND IT SAID THAT THE REPAIR IS WAS NOT CONDUCTED. I NEED TO GET THIS FIXED AND I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO WASTE. I ATTACHED THE INVOICE SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT THEY DID.
I WAS LEAVING A MECHANIC SHOP AFTER A TIRE CHANGE I ENTERED THE ROAD N ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR JUST DIED ON ME I CALLED THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT'S THE ALTERNATOR HE CAME AND GOT IT ON HIS FLAT BED SO I CHECK TO SEE IF MY CAR WAS ON THE RECALL LIST FOR THE ALTERNATOR AND SURE ENOUGH IT WAS
MY VEHICLE IS GIVING A MESSAGE THAT SAYS 'BATTERY SAVER MODE.' THE BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, THE ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AND I AM STILL GETTING THIS MESSAGE. ACCORDING TO BLOGS MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE CAR IS AT RISK OF SPONTANEOUSLY CUTTING OFF WHILE IN BATTERY SAVER MODE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. IT MAY BE A SENSOR ISSUE IDK AND MY LOCAL DODGE IS ALSO UNSURE
MY POWER STEERING PUMP HAS WENT OUT ON ME TWICE WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. THE FIRST TIME WAS LAST YEAR AS I WAS DOING A LEGAL U-TURN ON A STREET. I WASN'T ABLE TO GET THE MY CAR STRAIGHT ALMOST WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. I GOT THE PUMP REPLACED AND THEN 4 MONTHS LATER AS I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN ON THE STREET, THE PUMP WENT OUT AGAIN. ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AGAIN. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RECALLS ON THE POWER STEERING PUMP.
THE OIL PUMP IS NOT GIVING ENOUGH PRESSURE FOR THE CAR TO ACCELERATE THEREFORE CAUSING PROBLEMS ON THE ROAD AND MANY TIMES DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. THERE IS ALSO A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. I REPLACED EVERYTHING THAT COULD BE WRONG WITH IT EXCEPT THE DUAL STAGE OIL PUMP. I'VE TALKED TO MANY TECHNICIANS AND THEY SAID THAT THAT IS THE ONLY THING IT CAN BE. PLEASE REVIEW THIS ON THE 2012 DODGE CHARGER SXT RWD 3.6L ENGINE. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, UPPER AND LOWER BACK, AND LOST A TOOTH. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL TOW LOT AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
LOW BEAM HID HEADLIGHTS FAIL (TURN OFF COMPLETELY) WHEN ON FOR PERIOD OF TIME REGARDLESS OF IF VEHICLE IS STOPPED OR IN MOTION. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL, RECALL NUMBER P08 DATED 04/2014 HOWEVER MY VIN AND OTHER VEHICLES WITH HID LOW BEAM LIGHTNING WERE "NOT INCLUDED" IN THE AFFECTED VINS FOR P08.
I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW DECEMBER 11, 2011 AND IT IS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER SXT PLUS. I HAD NO ISSUE WITH MY WHEELS, THEN IN JULY 2018 ISH. I WAS HAVING WHAT I THOUGHT WAS TIRE PROBLEMS. LES SCHWAB LOOKED AT MY TIRES AND IT WAS A BENT RIM. I PAID ALMOT $400 FOR A NEW RIM. THEN 3 MONTHS LATER I HAD ANOTHER BENT RIM, THIS TIME THE REPLAEMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MOPAR PART FOR OVER $600.. I WENT TO AN ONLINE STORE AND PURCHASED 4 NEW RIMS FOR AROUND $800, ALMOST THE EXACT SAME RIMS. I AM PERPLEXED THAT I CAN DRIVE THIS CAR FOR OVER 6 YEARS AND THEN HAVE 2 BENT RIMS WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THESE.

P06DD ERROR CODE - AFFECTING V6 PENTASTAR ENGINE PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION AFTER ENGINE REACHES 3,000 RPM WHEN THERE IS A P06DD ERROR CODE. CAN'T ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AND CAR BOGS DOWN AND YOU NEED TO WAIT UNTIL RPMS DROP BELOW 3,000 TO ENGAGE ENGINE AGAIN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED OFF UNTIL OCTOBER 2019 WHERE I TOOK MY CAR TO AUTO ZONE FOR A FREE DIAGNOSTIC, BUT TO MY SURPRISE IT GAVE THE SAME CODE. I WORK BACK AND FORTH OUT OF TOWN SO THEREFORE I DIDN'T MAKE IT BACK IN TIME TO GET IT REINSPECTED AGAIN FOR THAT CODE. AS I EXITED THE FREEWAY MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN AND LOSE POWER. I WAS ABLE TO SPUTTER AT 10 MPH FOR ABOUT A QUARTER MILE TO A PARKING LOT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ON 01-22-18 AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS THE ALTERNATOR FAILING DUE TO THE RECALL BUT THERE WAS NO FIX YET FROM CHRYSLER. THEY STATED THE QUICK FIX IS REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK UNTIL THEY DISCOVER WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED ON THE RECALL. TODAY IS 01-24-18 AND MY VEHICLE IS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER IS WAITING APPROVAL FROM CHRYSLER TO INSTALL A NEW ALTERNATOR SINCE THERE IS NO EXACT FIX FOR THE RECALL YET. THEY TOLD ME IT MAY BE AN ELECTRICAL COMPUTER PROBLEM, WIRING PROBLEM OR ALTERNATOR PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THEY MAY INSTALL A NEW ALTERNATOR TODAY (01-24-18) AND THEY HAD TO ORDER IT. I HAVE BEEN WITH NO VEHICLE SINCE 01-18-18 DUE TO THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER NOT PROBLEM SOLVING THEIR MISTAKE. I'M GLAD I DIDN'T CRASH OR WAS IN THE FAST LANE OF THE FREEWAY WHEN I LOST POWER BUT MY SON WAS SCARED BECAUSE HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT GOES OUT AFTER TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IS ON AUTO OR MAUNUAL. SAME PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN RECALL P-08 FOR THE SAME VICHICLES BUILT 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO MINE. THIS PROBLEM PERSIST THROUGHOUT ALL VEHICLE OPERATIONS. I CHANGED THE BULB TWICE ALREADY BUT THE HEADLIGHT STILL GOES OUT.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT 30 MILES AN HOUR HITTING THE FRONT LEFT OF MY VEHICLE. I HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER, AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED RESULTING IN MY HEAD SLAMMING INTO THE WINDOW AND THE STEERING WHEEL. AS WELL AS THE BATTERY NO LONGER WORKING AND THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR SEVERAL FUSES WERE BLOWN. IT WAS 10 BELOW AND HAD LIGHT BLOWING SNOW AND NEW TIRES. THE RESULTING DAMAGE IS IN THE RANGE OF 5000 TO $6,000. I ALSO MISSED 2 DAYS OF WORK DUE TO THE HEAD INJURY WHICH WAS A CONCUSSION. MY CARS DISPLAY KEEPS FLASHING OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING AND AT A STOP SIGN OR SIGNAL LIGHT THE DASH FLICKERS AND AUTOMATICALLY PUTS THE CAR TO PARK. THE ONLY TIME THAT'S NOTHING HAPPENS IS WHEN THE CAR IS REVVED. THIS MODEL HAS HAD ISSUES BEFORE AND THAT WAS BASED ON THE ALTERNATOR ISSUE WHICH SEEM LIKE TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. The driver was able to coast to the side of the roadway and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the failure as an alternator diode-thermal fatigue in which the alternator needed to be replaced. The alternator was replaced along with the water pump, caskets, and thermostat. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the vehicle was overheating and was taken to the dealer where the same failure cause was determined, and a thermostat was replaced in January. The contact stated that the paperwork stated that an alternator was not available. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V435000 (Electrical System) in March 2018. The contact stated that the vehicle continued to experience overheating failure and the dealer was unable to remedy the failure, causing the water pump and head gasket to fail. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the dealer awaiting the repair. The contact stated that the dealer had the vehicle for months at a time. I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY TODAY BECAUSE THE BURNT ALTERNATOR DAMAGED CELLS IN THE BATTERY. TH WRECKER PICKED UP MY CAR AND BROUGHT IT TO BE REPAIRED. AT THIS TIME, I DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH DAMAGE WAS DONE TO MY CAR BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECTIVE PART.THE RECALL # IS P60.
