ALTERNATOR FAILED DEALER SAID THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR ALTERNATOR RECALL AND YET THE CAR STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING ALMOST KILLING MY SON AND THE PROBLEM AFTER DIAGNOSING IS THE ALTERNATOR I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM HAS TO BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE I BELIEVE DODGE ARE REPLACING ALTERNATORS WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE ONES MY CAR IS NOW AT PRESCOTT DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ALMOST $900 TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT IS MY OPTIONS AND THANK YOU
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CONTACT REACHED DOWN TO ADJUST A DEVICE IN THE AUX CONNECTION. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT VEERED FROM THE LEFT LANE AND CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT LANE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THEN TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY VEHICLE IS AFFECTED BY THE FCA T36 RECALL, AND ACCORDING TO WHAT I CAN FIND ON THE INTERNET THERE WILL NOT BE ANY PARTS AVAILABLE UNTIL MAY OF 2018! JUST YESTERDAY MY WIFE WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE AWAY-ONLY TO FIND THE CAR WAS TOTALLY DEAD! IF THERE ARE NO REPAIR PARTS-WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? IT HAD BEEN SITTING OVER NIGHT IN THE GARAGE---!
TAKATA RECALL WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY STREETS THE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY STARTED LEAKING OIL ALL THE WAY FROM THE TOP WHERE ITS LOCATED TO THE TRANSMISSION AND EXHAUST PIPES CAUSING A LOT OF SMOKE COME OUT BECAUSE THE OIL BURNIG HAD TO STOP VERY QUICKLY THINKING THE CAR WAS GETTING ON FIRE. AT FIRST DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM AFTER INSPECTING I NOTICED IT WAS COMING OUT WHERE THE OIL COOLER ASSAMBLY IS.

THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (ST. CHARLES DODGE, 1611 E. MAIN ST, ST. CHARLES, IL) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
I WENT FOR A ROUTINEOIL CHANGE BY A REPUTABLE DEALER. I WAS NOTIFIED I HAD AN OIL LEAK. AFTER FINDING THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS NOTIFIED I WILL NEED A NEW OIL FILTER HOUSING UNIT. THIS IS STRANGE. AT THE TIME I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY OIL LEAKAGE. I WAS TOLD THE HOUSING WILL HOLD AROUND A QUART OF OIL BEFORE YOU KNOW ITS LEAKING. I COULD HAVE BURNED MY MOTER UP. NO LIGHTS CAME ON. I SPENT 450.00 GETTING IT REPAIRED.
POWER STEERING GOES OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING , WASN'T OUT OF FLUID COMPLETELY BUT ADDED SOME AND WENT OUT AGAIN AFTER , CAR WAS INSPECTED AND NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE PUMP OR RESERVOIR AND SHOULDN'T GO OUT . IT GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THEN COMES BACK ON , DOES NOT MAKE ANY NOISES OR ANYTHING ELSE , CANNOT TURN AND RANDOMLY COMES ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING
MY DODGE CHARGER CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS A TOTAL LOSS DUE TO THE ENGINE OVER HEATING... THE FIRE MARSHAL AND INVESTIGATOR STATED THAT THE ENGINE HAD A MALFUNCTION... ALL THE PARTS ON MY VECHILE WAS THE ORIGINAL.... I PURCHASED MY CAR BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT AND ONLY TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ANY WORK PRIOR TO MY TOTAL LOSS....MY CAR WAS SITTING PARKED WHEN THE FIRE OCCURRED WHICH STARTED UNDER THE HOOD AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY WORK DONE ON MY CAR PRIOR TO THE FIRE.
EVIC FREQUENTLY DISPLAYS "OPERATING IN BATTERY SAVING MODE" AND SOMETIMES WILL DISPLAY A SYMBOL LOOKING LIKE A "TARGET OR BULLSEYE" WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY. OWNER'S MANUAL DOES NOT ADDRESS EITHER OF THESE WARNINGS OR SYMBOLS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND SWITCHING THE TRANSMISSION TO THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ERRONEOUSLY ROLLED BACKWARDS AS THE DRIVER STEPPED OUT. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A PARKING MEDIAN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE RPM GAUGES MALFUNCTIONED AND THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKE FUNCTIONALITY, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING MALFUNCTIONED, AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE PRESTIGUE CHRYSLER DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE, AND THEN NOTICED SMOKE COMING THROUGH THE CABIN WITH THE BATTERY SAVE MODE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY SAVER MODE HAD INTERMITTENTLY APPEARED ON AND OFF OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS, WHERE IT WAS CONTINUOUSLY INFORMED ( PER A AUTO SHOP THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE). THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER WHEN SHE OBSERVED MORE SMOKE AND OPENED THE ENGINE WHEN IT WAS NOTICED THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR AND WAS COMPLETELY BLACK. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER (MCKAY'S DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM, 2020 FRONTAGE RD N, WAITE PARK, MN, 56387) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL). THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED 2 WEEKS AFTER THE SPECIFIC RECALL DATES OF DECEMBER, AND THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN JANUARY. DODGE CHARGER WAS TAKEN IN TO CERTIFIED DODGE SERVICE CENTER FOR SAME PROBLEM 3 DIFFERENT TIMES BEFORE THE 4TH TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, WHICH RESULTED IN A CAR ACCIDENT. MAIN PROBLEM: GEAR SHIFT/LEVER STICKS AND HAS TO BE FORCED INTO DESIRED GEAR. ALSO, WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, CAR STAYS IN PARK AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. ON JULY 18TH, 2017, CAR WAS STARTED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON BUT CAR WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE. DROVE APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET TO STOP SIGN LOCATED AT HIGHWAY 70 AND AR-88. ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM THE LEFT (TRAVELING EAST) WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000 FEET BACK LEAVING ENOUGH SPACE AND TIME TO CROSS INTERSECTION. AS CAR WAS CROSSING INTERSECTION (I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GO WEST) THE CAR STALLED AND THE CAR WENT INTO PARK AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. BECAUSE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR ETC. , ONCOMING CAR TRAVELING EAST SLAMMED INTO DRIVER SIDE REAR END. ONCOMING CAR DID NOT REALIZE THAT OUR CAR (DODGE CHARGER) WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE AND ATTEMPTED TO SWERVE BUT STILL COLLIDED WITH BACK END OF CAR. HAD THE CAR NOT MALFUNCTIONED, THE ATTEMPT TO CROSS INTERSECTION WOULD HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL THEREFORE NO ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE OCCURRED. AGAIN, CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO A CERTIFIED DODGE SERVICE CENTER MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND MULTIPLES TIMES IT WAS CLAIMED "FIXED" OR "PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED". GEAR SHIFT ON THIS CAR HAS HAD PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING AND HAS ONLY WORSENED OVER TIME. DRIVER OF DODGE CHARGER SUFFERED BACK TRAUMA FROM ACCIDENT AND IS SEEKING MEDICAL CARE AS WELL. ALTERNATOR REPLACED TWO YEARS AGO UNDER RECALL. CAR DIED AGAIN WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WOULD NOT RESTART. DEALER SAYS FAILURE WAS THE SAME FAILURE THAT WAS UNDER RECALL. DISTRICT REP HAS NOT APPROVED REPAIRS YET, IT'S BEEN A WEEK. THIS WILL BE THE 3RD ALTERNATOR IN TWO YEARS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THIS CAR HAS 25,000 MILES ON IT THE BATTERY SAVER LIGHT CAME ON THE NEXT TIME I DROVE IT THIS LIGHT WAS OFF AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WAS AT 99 SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE OF COURSE MY 3 YEAR 36,000 WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED SO I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET .
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT LOCK IN POSITION. WHEN BRAKING OR STOPPING HARD, THE SEAT TRAVELS FORWARD IN ITS TRACK POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE PASSENGER'S KNEES TO HIT THE LOWER DASHBOARD. EVEN THOUGH THE SEAT ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM SEEMS TO LOCK IN POSITION WHEN SETTING THE POSITION, IT DOES NOT LOCK AND WILL SLIDE FORWARD UPON BARD BRAKING OR A SUDDEN STOP.

I WAS SITTING IN MY CAR IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE . I WENT TO START THE CAR THEN MY DASHBOARD WAS BLINKING WITH ENGINE LIGHT ,BATTERY LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT . THEN SUDDENLY I SEEN "SERVICE POWER STEERING " MY WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN . I TOOK IT UP TO THE STEALERS TO TELL ME IT'S A ELECTRICAL PUMP ISSUE THAT WILL COST ME 2,000 DOLLARS. THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE CAME OUT OF NO WHERE . AFTER I READING DIFFERENT CONSUMERS TESTIMONY , I NOTICED THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THEIR STEERING PUMP . IF I WAS OUT ON THE ROAD AND MY STEERING WHERE STOPPED ON ME , I COULD'VE BEEN DIED . IT SHOULD BE A LAW SUIT FILED ON THEM . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM DODGE.

IT IS REAL HARD TO TURN MY CAR WHEEL; I WAS TOLD IT WAS SOME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. BUT I'M REALLY NOT SURE; IT CAME OUT THE BLUE.

UPON LEAVING THE DEALER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DEALER HAD NOT PROVIDED HIM WITH THE WHEEL CHOCKS OR INSTRUCTIONS. THE CONTACT CHECKED HIS VEHICLE THOROUGHLY AND WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE WHEEL CHOCKS ANYWHERE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
LIFTERS WENT BAD WITH ONLY 37000MI ON IT CAUSING THE CAMSHAFT BE GET WORN.
WHILE DRIVING MY EVIC NOTIFIED ME THAT IT WAS IN "BATTERY SAVE MODE" .MY RESEARCH REVEALED THAT THIS IS EN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM INVOLVING THE ALTERNATOR. THERE HAVE BEEN 2 RECALLS FOR THIS DEFECT, HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD BE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DODGE ON 3-21. I THINK THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AT NO COST. KINDLY RESPOND.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I MADE A LEFT TURN.WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN I COULD FEEL THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING AND COULD HEAR A NOISE SOUNDING LIKE THE TIRE IS GOING TO FALL FROM UP UNDER THE VEHICLE.I BECAME SCARED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE AT DODGE.THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE TIRE RODS AND ALSO REPLACED THE FRONT BEARINGS ON VEHICLE.DAYS LATER THE SAME NOISE IS STILL THERE TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY TIGHTENED A BAR ON THE FRONT END.THE NEXT DAY SAME NOISE STILL EXISTS BUT IS NOW GETTING WORSE.WITH EVERY BUMP I GO OVER THE FRONT END SOUNDS LIKE IT IS GOING TO FALL APART.I REACHED BACK OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO.I ALSO WENT TO GET A 2ND OPINION AND SAME THING NOTHING FOUND. I ALWAYS BRING MY CAR TO RANCHO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE ON 8010 BALBOA AVENUE SAN DIEGO, CA 92111 REGARDING THE "BATTER SAVER MODE". I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AND HAVE GONE IN SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY/ALTERNATOR AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD AND THE "BATTERY SAVER MODE" STILL COMES ON. THE ISSUE IS IF YOU TURN OFF THE CAR IT GOES AWAY. I WAS INFORMED TO BRING IT BACK IN IF THE "BATTERY SAVER MODE" COMES BACK ON BUT IF THE PLACE ISN'T OPENED THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO DO SO. I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE FIXED, MY CAR CUTS OFF AT TIMES WHEN I START IT AND DRIVE OFF IN THE MORNING WHEN IT'S COLDER AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS WHICH THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE CAR COMPANY AS WELL.

BEEN TAKING IT TO THE DEALER SHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT NEW. BROUGHT VEHICLE IN TO HAVE EVERYTHING CHECK REGARDING "SHIMMY." $1,500.00 DOLLARS LATER TILL THIS DATE (10-24-17) DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. TOOK VEHICLE TO A "PRIVATELY OWNED STATE CERTIFIED SHOP" AND TODAY (10-24-17)...THEY FOUND THE "SHIMMY" PROBLEM. THE WHOLE ENTIRE "DRIVESHAFT / SLIP JOINTS ETC. ARE LOOSE AND COMING APART. VIA PHONE CONVERSATION. HAVE NOT PICKED VEHICLE UP AS OF TODAY YET FROM PLACE. WHEN LOOKED ON THIS SITE FOR "RECALL" REGARDING THIS PROBLEM USING MY VIN # NO INFORMATION CAME UP REGARDING MY VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAS LESS THEN 50,000 MILES ON IT. FOUND OUT "RECALLS" ON 2014 - 2017 DODGE / CHRYSLER AWD ARE ON THE WEBSITE. THE CAR HAD AN EXHAUST SMELL WEDNESDAY COMING THROUGH THE VENTS. THAT WENT AWAY. NO ISSUES WITH PERFORMANCE. NOTICE DAYS AFTER CAR WAS LOUD. FIGURED IT WAS JUST WARMING UP WITH COLD TEMPERATURE. LAST NIGHT CAR STARTS NO PROBLEM. DRIVE TO A FRIENDS HOUSE WAS MAYBE IN HER HOUSE 7 MINUTES. WE GO TO LEAVE USED THE KEY FOB TO UNLOCK THE CAR NOTICE INSIDE OF THE CAR IS COMPLETELY BLACK, WON'T START. THERE WAS A TICKING NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. WINDSHIELD WIPERS START MOVING. I TEST THE KEY FOB NOT RESPONDING. DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP, MESSAGE SCREEN IS WHITE, CAR PUTS IT'S SELF IN RUN BUT ENGINE NOT STARTING. YOU CAN MOVE THE GEAR TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. THE WHOLE TIME DASHBOARD AND ALL LIGHTS ARE KNOW BLINKING. TURN SIGNALS ARE ON OUTSIDE BUT DASHBOARD DOESN'T REFLECT. BATTERY TESTED FINE. I HAVE VIDEO OF WHAT THE CAR IS DOING. THEY COMPLETED A RECALL ON THE ALTERNATOR DUE TO NOT GIVING ENOUGH POWER TO THE CAR IN 2015. HOPEFULLY THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM. WILL BE TOWED TOMORROW TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 DODGE CHARGER SXT ON THE FREEWAY TODAY (11/02/16) THE ENGINE STALLED & I BARELY MADE IT TO THE RELATIVE SAFETY OF THE MEDIAN TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART MY CAR. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, IT EVENTUALLY RESTARTED, HOWEVER IT STALLED AGAIN SHORTLY THEREAFTER ON THE FREEWAY & 3 MORE TIMES ONCE I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY. I JUST GOT IT BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM (THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY "UPDATED" SOME SOFTWARE BUT COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM). IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP, BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SAFELY AVOID INJURY/DAMAGE IF THIS PROBLEM ISN'T FIXED & CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. WHEN DRIVING, I PRESSED BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE CAR AND HEARD A SCREECH NOISE, CAR TREMBLED A BIT AND CAME TO A STOP. ON AUGUST 29TH 2016 I WAS RETURNING(DRIVING ON US20) HOME FROM SOME OFFICIAL BUSINESS, WHEN MY DASH STARTED FLASHING, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD FLASH, THE SPEED DISPLAYED WOULD GO UP, AND DOWN , AND THE CAR STARTED CHANGING GEARS. THERE WAS A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM MY GEAR SHIFT, LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO SELECT GEAR. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT , AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE KEEP COMING UP AS WELL. I WOULD INTERMITTENLY LOSE POWER STEERING DURING THIS, AND POWER FROM THE ENGINE WOULD LAG ALSO. I HAVE A THREE MINUTE, AND THIRTY-FIVE SECOND VIDEO OF WHAT WAS OCCURING. I CONTACTED SOME MECHANIC FRIENDS THAT WORK ON INDIANA STATE POLICE CHARGERS, AND THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE BATTERY SHORTING OUT. THE NEXT MORNING I REPLACED THE BATTERY, AND INSTALLED PROPERLY WITH POSITIVE POST FIRST. THIS SEEM TO RESOLVE THE DASH FLASHING SYMPTOMS, BUT I THEN HAD NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. I TOOK TO OUR LOCAL DODGE DEALER IN LAGRANGE, IN THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS, AND DETERMINED THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING PUMP WAS NO GOOD. THE POWER STEERING PUMP WORKED PERFECTLY FINE WITH NO ISSUES AT ALL, EVER, BEFORE THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES OCCURED. THIS VEHICLE IS USED TO TRANSPORT THE US CONGRESSMAN, WHEN HE IS IN THE DISTRICT ON OFFICIAL BUSINESS, AND WE NEED IT REPAIRED ASAP. IT IS MY OPINION, THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS DESTROYED BY THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES CONCERNING THE RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. IT IS ALSO MY OPINION THAT FAC LLC SHOULD REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP AT NO COST PER THE CONSENT ORDER PERTAINING TO THIS RECALL. I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH FCA SINCE 8/31/16, SO FOR 28 DAYS NOW, THAT I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT POWER STEERING. I FILED MY FIRST COMPLAINT ON, OR AROUND 9/12/16. I EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS STATED IN NHTSA PE14022 WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPORXIMATELY 65MPH. EVERY WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF FLASHING, SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGE, SERVICE POWER STEERING , AND TACH, AND SPEEDO WOULD DROP TO ZERO , AND I WOULD LOSE ENGINE POWER, AND POWER STEERING. IN DEALING WITH FCA LLC, THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE ELECTRIC HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING PUMP THAT WAS FRIED FROM THIS INCIDENT OCCURING. FCA IS SAYING THAT IT WAS THE "2 YEAR OLD MOPAR BATTERY" THAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT, AND REFUSE TO REPLACE THE EHPS PUMP THAT WORKED PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE THIS OCCURED. I REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR PER NHTSA RECALL NO. 14V-634 A GREAT DEAL OF TIME PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT OCCURING. FCA IS TRYING TO CIRCUMVENT HAVING TO REPLACE THE PUMP BY CHANGING THE ORIGIN OF THE MEANS TO THE BATTERY, INSTEAD OF THE ALTERNATOR. I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH HOW FCA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THE PROOF GIVEN TO THEM. I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS, THERE HAD BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS FILED WITH SIMILAR RESULTS AS MINE IN DEALING WITH FCA. IT'S TIME FOR NHTSA TO DO SOMETHING TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE WITH FCA. FCA OFFERED TO REPLACE THE $1400 EHPS PUMP IF I PAY A $500 CO-PAY, I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS OFFER BASED ON THE PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER. THE TRUE ORIGIN OF ALL OF THE ISSUE'S I'M CURRENTLY HAVING, IS FROM THE ORIGINAL ALTERNATOR THAT WAS IN THE CAR FOR A YEAR AND A HALF INITIALLY, AND DURING THAT TIME IT WAS IMPROPERLY CHARGING THE BATTERY THAT POSSIBLY CAUSED THE BATTERY TO ULTIMATELY FAIL ON 8/31/16.
