THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL ON MY CAR AND I DEMAND THAT THE MANUFACTURER BUY MY CAR BACK. THIS CAR COSTS ABOUT 30,000.00 AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A DEFECTIVE CAR. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT YET...I JUST WOULD LIKE THE COMPANY TO DO THE RIGHT THING.
TAKATA RECALL
I GOT A TAKATA NOTICE IN THE MAIL SAYING I'M A REGISTERED OWNER OF ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES WITH THE TAKATA AIRBAG AND MY AIRBAG ALERT IS RED ON MY DASHBOARD BUT THERE'S BEEN NO RECALL. PLEASE INVESTIGATE WHETHER THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL.
WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FAILURE: DISABLES TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, AND SPEED CONTROL. I JUST HAD A SECOND SPEED SENSOR FAIL IN 25,000 MILES. AS THERE ARE FOUR OF THEM IT IS PROBABLY JUST A MATTER OF TIME ALL WILL FAIL.... A CO WORKER OF MINE ALSO HAS A 2015 CHARGER SE AND SHE HAS HAD A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR FAIL AS WELL.. IN MY CASE BOTH INSTANCES OCCURRED WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OF STARTING THE CAR COLD AND DRIVING..
VEHICLE A/C WENT OUT. GOT IT CHECKED OUT, MECHANIC SAID NO LEAKS OR ANYTHING OUT THE ORDINARY. RECHARGED IT WITH 1234YF. THE A/C WORKS BUT SEEMS TO STILL MAKE A LEAKING SOUND. THERE IS A GAS LIKE SMELL THAT COMES OUT THE VENT. PRETTY SURE A/C UNIT WILL GO OUT AG AIN.
WHILE CRUISING IN 'DRIVE' IF THE OPERATOR PUTS THE SHIFTER IN 'NEUTRAL' IN ORDER TO COAST AND THEN THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY BECOMES IMMOBILIZED WHEN PUT BACK INTO 'DRIVE'. THE DASH THEN NOTIFIES THE DRIVER TO APPLY THE BRAKE AND CYCLE THE SHIFTER BACK INTO 'PARK' AND THEN BACK TO 'DRIVE' IN ORDER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE. NOW MY CONCERN HERE IS THAT IF A DRIVER WERE TO FIND THEMSELVES IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION (LIKE ON RAILROAD TRACKS WITH A TRAIN APPROACHING) THEY MAY PANIC AND NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THIS PROCESS FAST ENOUGH IN ORDER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY.
MY 2015 CHARGER IS HAVING POWER STEERING ISSUES. PROBLEM STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO, WHEN THE CAR WOULD JERK TO EITHER SIDE AND THE ABS LIGHT WOULD COME ON. TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW POWER STEERING RACK. CAR WAS A YEAR OLD WHEN PURCHASED, AND A YEAR LATER, IS HAVING THIS MAJOR ISSUE. NOT SURE IF THIS IS A DEFECT, OR IF SOMEONE TRIED TO MODIFY CAR IN SOME WAY, OR IF THE PROBLEM OCCURRED BEFORE IT WAS PURCHASED BY ME AND THAT INFO WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME. THE CAR WAS USED AS A PERSONAL VEHICLE BY THE MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM, AND WAS ONLY TOLD THAT INFORMATION AFTER I PURCHASED IT. I JUST WANT TO MAKE THIS ISSUE KNOWN, IN CASE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.AGAIN, IN MY OPINION, THIS CAR IS TOO NEW TO HAVE THIS KIND OF ISSUE, SO SOON. ONLY 2 YEARS OLD.
TAKATA RECALL. THE SEATBELT, ONCE BUCKLED, WILL NOT UNFASTEN UNLESS YOU REPEATEDLY YANK AT THE BELT ITSELF. THERE WAS REPEATED CLICKING IN THE ENGINE AND I COULD NOT EXCEED OVER 45MPH. WHEN THE HEAT IS TURNED ON IN THE CAR THE COOL A/C BLOWS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR AND WHEN I TRIED TO ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE ON DRIVER SIDE OF CAR I AM UNABLE TO DO THAT.
WHEN MY CAR IS IN PARK AND ENGINE IS OFF MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS , SHIFTER LIGHT & BLOWER FOR AC/ HEAT STAY ON. THEREFORE DRAINING THE BATTERY
AT 38,000 MILES THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR PANEL SEPARATED AND CURLED UP BY THE WINDOW. THIS HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT'S COMMON AS THEY SEE IT ALL THE TIME WITH CHARGER, IT WILL COST $950 TO FIX AS EVEN THOUGH IT'S COMMON THEY WON'T COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY.
VEHICLE ACCELERATES ON ITS ON, AND WHEN BARELY PRESSING THE GAS WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.
CAR WILL JUST DIE WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND RPM'S WILL JUST DROP OFF. SOMETIMES IT WILL COME BACK ON AS IT WERE IN NEUTRAL THEN GO INTO SECOND GEAR WHILE SHIFTER IS STILL IN DRIVE AND CAR JERKS AROUND AND LUNGES FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT 10MPH - 60 MPH. IT HAS BEEN DOING IT FOR A FEW MONTHS.
SHORTLY AFTER VEHICLE REACHED 36,000 MILES, THE SUNROOF STOPPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I WOULD HAVE IT IN VENT MODE, AND UPON PUSHING THE CLOSE BUTTON, IT WOULD IN TURN, GO TO FULLY OPEN MODE. ALSO, WHEN FULLY OPEN, IT WOULD NOT CLOSE ON IT'S OWN AUTOMATICALLY AS IT SHOULD, I WOULD HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING THE BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET IT TO THE POSITION WHERE IT WAS CLOSED AND SEALED. I FOUND A METHOD TO RESET/RESOLVE THE ISSUE, BUT A SHORT TIME LATER, IT HAS DONE IT AGAIN.
WHILE SLOWING DOWN FROM ABOUT 40MPH TO ABOUT 20MPH TO MAKE RIGHT HAND TURNS, ENGINE SHIFTS VERY ROUGHLY FROM 3RD TO 2ND TO 1ST AND AFTER COMPLETING THE RIGHT TURN REMAINS STUCK IN LOW GEAR AND DOES NOT SHIFT AS ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. ALMOST STALLS, BUT AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE NORMAL SHIFT PATTERN RESUMES. THIS HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY A FEW OTHER TIMES, SUCH AS APPROACHING A RED TO GREEN TRAFFIC SIGNAL. WHEN APPROACHING RED LIGHT, I DECELERATE TO STOP BUT DON'T MAKE COMPLETE STOP AS LIGHT CHANGES TO GREEN, CAR DOWNSHIFTS INTO 1ST GEAR BUT WONT UPSHIFT SMOOTHLY INTO 2ND/3RD GEAR WHEN RE-ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE.
THE VEHICLE IS A MARKED POLICE VEHICLE THAT WAS LEFT RUNNING AT THE SCENE OF AN INVESTIGATION. DASHBOARD CAMERA VIDEO SHOWS THAT APPROXIMATELY 14 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS PARKED THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO REVERSE AND DROVE OFF, DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND INTO A TREE. AN INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED BY FCA AND IN A LETTER BY MR. KON OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS IT WAS NOTED THAT THE "INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF A MALFUNCTION....". THIS WAS WRITTEN DESPITE THE FACT THE SITUATION WAS REPLICATED BY THE INVESTIGATOR IN THE PRESENCE OF ONE OF OUR CITY MECHANICS. FURTHERMORE, MR. KON QUOTED THE OWNERS MANUAL AND STATED "...YOU SHOULD NEVER EXIT A VEHICLE WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING" WHICH IS NOT AT ALL PRACTICAL FOR A POLICE VEHICLE.
AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING SIDE IMPACT CRASH THE OTHER VEHICLES AIR BAGS DID DEPLOY. ACCIDENT WAS IN A PARKING LOT BUT THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT SPEED, IMPACT AND DAMAGE. IMPACT WAS SUCH THAT IT PUSHED THE CHARGER SIDEWAYS OVER A CURB AND UP ONTO A GRASSY MEDIAN. DRIVER HIT HEAD ON DOOR AND SUFFERED MILD CONCUSSION AND IS STILL SUFFERING HEADACHES AND BODY PAIN. OUR CONTACT AT THE REPAIR SHOP EXPRESSED SURPRISE THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND ALSO THE SRS INDICATOR WAS NOT LIT.
DOOR PANELS AT TOP OF DOOR WHERE THE LOCKS ARE IS COMING UNGLUED, AND ALSO ON THE SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT. THIS STARTED HAPPENING NOT LONG AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED.IT LOOKS AWFUL.
AT ABOUT 12K TO 14K THE WHEEL MOTION SENSOR FAILED ON MY CAR CAUSING THE TRACTION CONTROL, ABS AND CRUISE CONTROL TO BE DISABLED.... IT WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTEE.. A CO-WORKER WHO PURCHASED A 15 CHARGER RIGHT AFTER I PURCHASED MINE HAS NOTIFIED ME TODAY SHE HAD A WHEEL SENSOR FAIL AT 14,000. THIS SEEMS TO BE CHRONIC.. IS THIS BEING LOOKED INTO...?
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AROUND 65-70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I WENT TO STEP ON MY BREAK PEDAL THE VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE LANES DUE TO THIS MY GS PEDAL WOULD NOT GO FASTER AFTER EITHER. A INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARED IN MY CLUSTER BUT I WAS UNABLE TO READ IT DUE TO MY PANIC OF LOOSING MY BREAKS AND GAS PEDAL. LATE THAT NIGHT I TOOK IT TO HUNTINGTON BEACH DODGE AND JEEP SERVICE AND SERVICE ADVISOR BOB SAID THAT THERE WAS A SYSTEM CODE THAT INDICATED LOSS SIGNAL TO BREAKS AND GAS PEDALS. THE REPAIR ORDER INDICATED THAT THE BREAK AND GAS PEDAL WAS NOT CALIBRATED PROPERLY CAUSING THE ISSUE. THIS IS GREAT CONCERN TO BEING THAT IT IS A SAFETY MATTER THAT CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT OR THAT CAN RESULT IN GREAT BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. I HAD TOW FRIENDS IN THE CAR WITH ME AT THE TIME TOO. *TR
SAMIE ISSUE REPORTED ON 8/24/16 FOR TRANSMISSION JERKS AND SLIPS AS IT RUNS THROUGH GEARS WHEN CAR IS COLD. ONCE WARM, IT DOESN'T DO IT AT ALL. THE JERKS OR SLIPS ARE NOT SLIGHT EITHER, THEY ARE HARD AND DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH ACCELERATION THERE IS OR ISN'T...THE GEAR CHANGES ARE VERY NOTICEABLE AND JERKY! DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE DRIVING STRAIGHT, TAKING A TURN...ANYTIME YOU ACCELERATE IT SHIFTS VERY HARD! I BOUGHT IT NEW ON 3/18/16 ALTHOUGH IT IS A 2015 SXT CHARGER...HAD LESS THAN 50 MILES ON IT BUT IS CURRENTLY SITTING AROUND 7000 MILES. IT HAS DONE IT SINCE I BOUGHT IT FROM THE DEALER. STILL DOES IT TO THIS DAY. EVEN AFTER RUNNING FOR A FEW MINUTES VIA CAR STARTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE SITTING IN THE PARKED VEHICLE, THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,700.
CPSC: 2015 DODGE CHARGER: CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLLS, AND BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE WHILE MAKING A TURN. *SS
THIS MORNING AT 0710 (SUNDAY 8-07-2016) I WAS ON THE NORTH BOUND ROAD NAMED BRADSHAW (SACRAMENTO CA.), ABOUT 4 MILES SOUTH OF JFHQ (ARMY HEADQUARTERS 9800 GOETHE RD.) I WAS DRIVING AND OUT OF NOWHERE A MASSIVE EXPLOSION DROWNED OUT MY RADIO AND GLASS STARTED RAINING DOWN ON ME AND ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF MY CAR. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT ON MY FLASHERS, THE SOUND WAS SO LOUD IT MADE ME DEAF LIKE I HAD MY BELL RUNG IN IRAQ. I COLLECTED MY SELF BECAUSE I WAS SHOOKEN UP AND REALIZED MY SUNROOF JUST EXPLODED FOR NO REASON. I STEPPED OUT OF MY VEHICLE TO GET THE GLASS OUT OF MY EYES AND OFF MY UNIFORM, THEN I INSPECTED THE ENTIRE CAR LOOKING FOR BULLET HOLES. I WAS ACTUALLY THINKING SOMEONE WAS SHOOTING AT ME BECAUSE OF HOW IT EXPLODED WHEN NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE ON THE ROAD AT THAT TIME. WHEN LOOKING AT THE CAR THE GLASS WAS ALSO ALL OVER MY ROOF AND STUCK IN THE GAP OF MY TRUNK LID AND POOLED AT THE BASE OF MY SPOILER. THE LOCATION OF WHEN THIS HAPPENED THERE ARE NO OVERPASSES OR PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS WALKWAYS. MAJORITY OF THE GLASS BLEW UP AND OUT OF MY CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE PAINT ON MY ROOF AND TRUNK LID.
UPON ARRIVING HOME AFTER AN 800 MILE TRIP, (IN THE EVENING AROUND 10:30 PM) WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE TO BACK INTO DRIVEWAY, I EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE ECU CONTROLLER FAILURE AND EVERYTHING WENT BLACK. AND ENGINE DIED. AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT APPEARS THE COMPUTER REBOOTED ITSELF AND THE DASH CAME BACK UP AND THE CAR RESTARTED. IT APPEARS THERE IS A REAL-TIME PROGRAM BUG IN THE CAR AND THE FIRMWARE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE ROAD, IT WOULD HAVE CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH. I WAS THEN ABLE TO BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY. NO ERROR CODE WAS POSTED! I BELIEVE THAT THE REALTIME SOFTWARE IS EXPERIENCING FRAME OVERRUNS AND WE KNOW THAT CAUSES RUNAWAY CONDITIONS LIKE IN THE TOYOTA CAMRY. I BELIEVE THE NHTSA SHOULD REVIEW EVERY CAR FIRMWARE BEFORE RELEASE TO INSURE SPARE TIME REQUIREMENTS ARE MET AND RUNAWAY CONDITIONS CAN NOT EXIST. (YES, I USED TO DEVELOP REAL TIME SOFTWARE FOR CONTROL SYSTEMS)
THE 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION JERKS AND SLIPS DURING THE 1-2, 2-3 AND SOMETIMES IN THE 3-4 SHIFT. THIS OCCURS UNTIL THE CAR HAS WARMED UP. AFTER WARMING UP IT SHIFT AS IT SHOULD. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS COLD AND BEING DRIVEN. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TRIED TO CORRECT THIS MATTER AND HAS FAILED.
MY PASSENGER SEAT HAS FAILED IN THE LICK POSITION IN THE TRACK ADJUSTMENT. ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, WE HAD TO COME TO AN ABRUPT HAULT FROM 75 MPH, AND MY PASSENGER SEAT BROKE FROM ITS LOCKED POSITION, SENDING ME FIREARD TOWARDS MY DASH THEN JAMMED IN THAT POSITION, THE PROBLEM I FOUND ON THE SEAT TRACK , WAS THE SLIDER BEARINGS BROKE AND UNLOCKED THE TRACK, AND GOT STUCK WITH THE BROKEN PARTS IN THE TRACK, OF COURSE THIS HAPPENED AFTER THE WARRANTY, SURE WISH THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS, MAYBE YOU CAN HELP, ON GETTING SEAT TRACKS REPLACED.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM DODGE FOR SPARE TIRE JACK THAT COULD BEND BODY SIDE SILL DURING OPERATION. CONTACTED MY LOCAL DODGE DEALER IN REDLANDS FOR APPOINTMENT AND HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM. HOW DO I GET THIS RESOLVED IF THE DEALER WONT GET BACK TO ME?
FIRST WAS A/C ELECTRICAL ISSUES 3 TIMES AND EVEN HAD DASHBOARD PULLED APART ALONG WITH RADIO MAIN CONTROL SCREEN GOING IN AND AS OF 4/4/2018 IM NOW HAVING ABS TRACTION CONTROL WITH STEERING PROBLEMS WHEN STARTING TURNING DRIVING..ALL ISSUES SINCE BUYING MY CAR BRAND NEW IN 2016 (LEMON LAWS? PLEASE HELP) ONLY 44K MILES NOW AND DEALERSHIP SAYS ITS NO LONGER COVERED.
1/7/16 Unknown vehicle vibration reported to Dodge dealership soon after purchase, and several times thereafter. Multiple test drives/inspections performed at three separate Dodge dealerships. 7668 Miles On Vehicle 5/2/17 Multi-point inspection sheet completed. Dashcam video shows technician did not complete inspection as indicated. Started direct line of communication with FCA to find new dealership for vibration and inspection issue's. 7/26/18 Second dealership verifies a vibration at low speed, BUT co-owner of dealership caught on dashcam driving in extreme excess of the posted speed limit on country roads. 8/10/18 Third dealership VERIFIED CUSTOMER COMPLAINT and scheduled in depth inspection in four weeks later. Wrote DID NOT LIFT on final inspection sheet and blamed exhaust drone for kicking off MDS System. 4/22/2019 Vehicle towed to original dealership for leaking water pump with loose pulley. Multi-point vehicle inspection sheet completed. Performed? *Inspection sheets have a section under Vehicle Checkup Plus to inspect either u-joints/driveshafts. Depending on dealership. 8/24/2021 Fourth shop, not affiliated with FCA, allowed me to inspect driveshaft/u-joints and the CLUNK noise heard when driving in reverse was the driveshaft because the Driveshaft Center Support Bearing had failed. The car was purchased August of 2015 and now has approximately 63,6xx miles on it. The bearing began to fail at 7,668 miles. If I didn't drive as defensively as I do, the driveshaft would have been in the cabin by 25,000 miles. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. UPDATED 10/06/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO WARNING FOR WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPEN WHILE IN DRIVE. *JS
13 INCH BRAKES INADEQUATE FOR VEHICLE WEIGHT.
THERE IS RUST ON THE STEERING KNUCKLE NEAR THE U BALL JOINT NEAR THE FRONT SUSPENSION COILS NEXT TO THE FRONT TIRES. ALSO THE NAVIGATION AND UCONNECT ARE MESSING UP. *TR
FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, THE THROTTLE RESPONSE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE. IF YOU SLOW DOWN TO AN ALMOST STOP, OR STOP WITHOUT WAITING A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME, THERE IS A DELAY IN THE VEHICLES ACCELERATION. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES UPON TRYING TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, SUCH AS TRYING TO PASS ON THE FREEWAY, THE RPM'S WILL RUN HIGH BUT THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE, THUS HAVING TO LET UP ON THE GAS PEDAL AND PUSH IT AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY AND I HAVE HAD IT IN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE WITH NO RESOLUTION.
There is a manufacturing defect in the car, after it has driven 120,000 kilometers or 200,000 kilometers, it causes problems in the engine’s cooling systems, which causes the car’s temperature to rise. It is also possible that the engine is damaged and needs to be replaced after that. The cooling system needs to be checked, improved, and treated for better and higher quality Note : After researching this problem on websites, I found that the car breaks down frequently in countries like Saudi Arabia due to the temperature of weather reaching 50 degrees Celsius.
