I ALREADY REPORTED LAST YEAR ON DECEMBER 2015 AND TILL NOW 4-27-2016 STILL DOING THE PROBLEM OF LIGHT AND AIRBAG AND WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO CALL ME. I GOT CONFIRM THEY GOT THE PART , MAY THE 3 WILL TAKE MY CAR. ONE OF YOU PERSONNEL HELP TO CALL THE DEALER AND GET IT FIX.
WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL WILL SPEW FROM THE FILLER INLET WHEN THE GAS PUMP STOPS FILLING. I UNDERSTAND THIS WAS A RECALL ON THE 2005 MODEL. DODGE WILL NOT ADDRESS THIS, STATING THAT MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS, IT WAS SEND TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED, REPLACED ...BUT IN APRIL THE FIRST I HAD AND ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
DURANGO IS SHIFTING INTO 4 LO BY ITS SELF. IT IS TRYING TO SHIFT INTO 4 LO WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MAKING THE 4 LO LIGHT FLASH AND CAUSING A WHINING SOUND. IF YOU STOP WHILE IT IS DOING THIS IT WILL SHIFT INTO 4 LO BY ITS SELF AND YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT SHIFT BACK.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS WELL AS NOT STARTING AT IRREGULAR MOMENTS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND AUTO REPAIR SHOP. EACH TIME TO HAVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT FIXED, FIRST TIME IT WAS BATTERY AND LEADS, NEXT IT WAS ALTERNATOR, THEN NEW BELT , AND AFTER EACH FIX THE PROBLEM WOULD COME BACK, FINALLY AN HONEST MECHANIC EXPLAINED THAT I HAD TO REMOVE LEADS TO BATTERY FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE CAR COULD CRANK AGAIN. THIS MAKES NO SENSE. HE CHECKED CAM SENSOR AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR - ALL GOOD TOO. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR OVER TWO YEARS. THE WORST TIME WAS WHEN I WAS NOT PRINCIPAL CITY STREET AT RUSH HOUR WITH 3 CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. OF COURSE, I WAS MORE WORRIED ABOUT GETTING THE CHILDREN OUT OF THE STALLED VEHICLE AND SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET BEFORE PUSHING THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY DODGE DEALERSHIP. IT SEEMS OLDER DODGE DURANGOS LIKE MINE FROM 2006 HAVE THIS COME PROBLEM. WHY HASN'T A SOURCE TO THIS PROBLEM BEEN IDENTIFIED AND A MANUFACTURER RECALL SOLUTION BEEN PROVIDED? TWICE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND NEW EXPENSES FOR DIFFERENT THINGS WERE PRESCRIBED, AND NONE FIXED THE PROBLEM. MUST THE PUBLIC WAIT UNTIL SOME DIES ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS PROBLEM WHICH LEADS TO STALLED VEHICLES HAVE MORE ACCIDENTS AND THEN DEATHS?
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A COUNTRY ROAD ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE DIED AND SHE HAD NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES AND HAD TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN SHE TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD LIGHT BUT THE STARTER WOULD NOT CRANK THE ENGINE. SHOP SAYS THE COMPUTER HAS FAILED. *TR
THE GASOLINE SPEWS OUT AT YOU BEFORE THE GAS TANK IS FULL. SO IF YOU ARE UNAWARE, NOT PAYING ATTENTION, OR JUST COMPLETELY FORGET YOU END UP IN A BATH OF GASOLINE. SO NOW POSSIBLY YOUR SHOES CLOTHES AND HANDS HAVE GAS ON THEM. HOPEFULLY YOU DON'T PLAN ON LIGHTING A CIGARETTE AFTERWARD. (I DON'T SMOKE) BUT I DO CARE NOT TO WEAR GASOLINE OR HAVE TO BREATHE THE FUMES IN MY REALLY NICE MOPAR. SUPER PROBLEMATIC FOR THE OWNERS AFFLICTED WITH THIS PROBLEM I HOPE CHRYSLER DOES THE RIGHT THING AND RECALLS THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.
BOUGHT A USED. 2006 DODGE DURANGO. FIRST TIME WIFE FILLED TANK FUEL ERUPTED FROM FILL SPOUT COVERING HER HEAD TO FOOT IN GAS. NEXT WEEK I TRIED FILLING TANK. AGAIN FUEL SPEWED FROM THE FILLER NECK. THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY THEN BOOM. 1/2 TO 1 GALLONS OF GASOLINE IS ON THE GROUND, SIDE OF VEHICLE AND MYSELF. WE CAN ONLY PUT PARTIAL TANKS OF GAS IN AT A TIME. AS WITH ALL REFUELING TRIPS THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, ENGINE OFF, SITTING BESIDE THE PUMP. THE 2005 DURANGOS WERE RECALLED. WHY NOT THIS YEAR ALSO. DEALER CLAIMS WARRANTY WORK WAS COMPLETED AND WILL ONLY LOOK AT VEHICLE IF THEY CHARGE A FEE. THIS IS A VEHICLE " CHECKED OUT " BY DEALER BEFORE SALE. APPARENTLY THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT OUR SAFETY OR THE HAZARD TO THE ENVIRONMENT WHEN CLOSE TO A GALLON IN FUEL GETS DUMPED ON THE GROUND EVERY TIME IT'S FILLED.
UPON FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH FUEL IT WILL SPIT BACK A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF FUEL AFTER PUMPING HAS STOPPED FULL. ITS AMAZING THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE 2005 DURANGO FOR THIS PROBLEM AND NOT THE 2006. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THE SCALE OF THE CONTINUED FUELING PROBLEM ON DURANGOS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS AT MULTIPLE GAS STATIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
GASOLINE OVERFLOWS FROM FILLER NECK WHEN FILLING FUEL TANK. A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE OVERFLOWS AFTER GASOLINE PUMP SHUTS OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE DASH PANEL. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION, AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COOL DOWN BEFORE RESTARTING THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RECALL NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V092000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

WHILE DRIVING, MY VEHICLE IS SWITCHING INTO 4-LOCK ON ITS OWN. THE LIGHT COMES ON AND ALL WHEELS START TURNING TOGETHER. HAS ONE TIME MADE IT SO IT WOULDN'T MOVE. HAD TO TURN OFF AND RESTART VEHICLE. HAS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY ON CITY STREET. HAPPENED ANOTHER TIME, 4-LOCK LIGHTS FLASHING AND MOANING SOUND OF TIRES MOVING AT SAME TIME. DID SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN.
THE SUNROOF SHATTERED TODAY AT 0945 WHILE DRIVING 60 MILES PER HOUR ON I5 SOUTHBOUND AT MILEPOST 114. I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THEN THE GLASS SHATTERING.
EACH TIME I FILL UP MY GAS TANK WHEN THE PUMP KICKS OFF GAS SPILLS OUT OF THE TANK ONTO THE GROUND. DODGE SAYS THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS LISTED AS "RESTRICTED" IN THEIR DATA BASE THEY CANT TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT RESTRICTED MEANS ONLY THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN CLASSIFIED AS A TOTAL LOSS AT SOME POINT. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED BUT HAD NO ISSUES REGISTERING IT OR INSURING IT IN NJ. DODGE SAYS THERE IS A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THIS PROBLEM BUT BECAUSE IT IS NOT A RECALL THEY REFUSE TO MAKE THE REPAIR FOR ME BECAUSE OF MY VEHICLES "RESTRICTED" STATUS SO I GUESS IF I AM REFUELING AND GAS SPILLS OUT AND CATCHES THE PLACE ON FIRE DODGE WONT CARE I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND NOT JUST A WARRANTY ISSUE THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT CHANCE OF SOMEONE GETTING SEVERELY BURNED OR KILLED IF THIS SPILL HAPPENS NEAR AN IGNITION SOURCE. PLEASE ADVISE ME OF MY NEXT COURSE OF ACTION.

THE DURANGO GOES INTO 4 WHEEL LOCK FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE FOUR WHEEL LOCK LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF AND CLICKING. THE AUTO WON'T GO ANYWHERE UNTILL I SHIFT IT BACK AND FORTH - REVERSE - FORWARD - WHEN I FIRST TRY TO BACK IT UP THERE IS A NOICE UNDER THE HOOD THAT SOUNDS LIKE A CHAIN RATTLING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAVE HAD TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES. THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.
AS I BRAKED TO PARK THE DURANGO, THE ENGINE ABRUPTLY STALLED. NOT SURE WHY IT STALLED, BUT I KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2004-2005 DURANGOS WHERE THE ENGINE WOULD STALL DURING SHARP TURNS WHILE BRAKING.

WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK, THE PUMP DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF AND GASOLINE SPEWS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR LESS THAN A WEEK AGO AND HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN EVERY TIME I FILL IT UP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, AN ONCOMING VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUFFER ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING POWER STEERING SEEMS TO GO OUT AND THE VEHICLE IN UNABLE TO BE TURNED. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING, I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT. IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON IT WILL USUALLY START TURNING AGAIN BUT IS HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY WHILE ON THE ROAD SINCE THE FIRST OCCURRENCE.

THE DEALER NOTIFIED THE CONTACT OF THE AIR BAG SAFETY RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE REAR SEAT BELTS PERTAINING TO THE PLASTIC PIECE FRACTURING CAUSING A FAILURE IN WHICH THE SEAT BELTS WERE NOT PROPERLY RETRACTING AND SECURING. THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT PLASTIC PIECE WAS ALSO DETERIORATING AND TO THE POINT OF FRACTURING. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED TO DETERMINE WHAT PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED THERE IS A NOISE FROM TRANSMISSION SWITCHING IN AND OUT OF ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND SWITCHING BACK TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE BY ITSELF. ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING. THIS HAPPENS WHEN PARKED ONLY SO FAR. I'M AFRAID COULD SWITCH DURING DRIVING. IT HAS HAPPENED ALSO WHEN HITTING THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB. I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT ANOTHER CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING BESIDE MY TRUCK. I SOON REALIZED IT WAS MY VEHICLE MAKING THIS NOISE ISSUE?
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO LIGHT UP WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION BEING THAT THERE IS A RECALL IT CAN BE KINDA SCARY NOT KNOWING IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING. MY CONCERN IS IF WHILE DRIVING AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS SHOULD THE FRAGMENTS DISTRACT MY VIEW OF TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING MAY CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. AS OF TO DATE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE AIRBAGS WHAT DO A DRIVER OF A RECALLED VEHICLE DO???

SINCE JULY 2015 MY DURANGO HAS BEEN STALLING. WHETHER I AM TURNING, STOPPED AT A LIGHT IT TURNS OFF, BUT TURNS BACK ON. IT HAS BEEN PULLING, ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO TURN OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING, LIKE I AM LOSING POWER. ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED, THROTTLE BODY, FACTORY SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED AND SEVERAL OIL CHANGES. NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND THEY TELL ME IT IS ONE THING AND FIX IT AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. ANOTHER TELLS ME SOMETHING ELSE AND FIX IT AND IT CONTINUES.

ON 6/14/2015 I WAS ABOUT TO BACK MY TRAILER INTO MY YARD, WHEN MY GEAR SHIFT COLUMN SELECTOR LOCKED IN PARK. I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. ADDITIONALLY, MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NO LONGER WORKING. PRIOR TO ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS I HAD TO REPLACE MY IGNITION FOR IT WAS LOCKING AND WOULD NOT TURN TO THE ON POSITION OR ACCESSORIES POSITION. IT COST ME $400 DOLLARS FOR A NEW IGNITION TO BE INSTALLED BY THE DEALER AND NOW I HAVE WORSE PROBLEMS THAN BEFORE. SO I BEGAN RESEARCHING AND HERE IS MY FINDINGS: 1) SAFETYRECALL G28 -IGNITION/PARK SHIFT INTERLOCK IN 2001 AND 2002 MODELS FOR MANY VEHICLES WHICH INCLUDED THE DURANGO. 2) THE BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK CONNECTOR HAS MALFUNCTIONED WILL NOT ALLOW THE SHIFTER TO MOVE. SO IF THE DEALER KNOWS ABOUT THESE RECALLS WHY DIDN'T THEY FIX THEM FREE OF CHARGE.

MY 2006 DURANGO WILL SHIFT INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT WARNING. SOMETIMES THIS OCCURS WHEN UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE WHEN NOT RUNNING, USING THE REMOTE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A LIFE AND DEATH SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I HAVE SEEM MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING.
