TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH-TO-START BUTTON FAILED TO ENGAGE UNTIL AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE WAS A CONSTANT OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. MOST RECENTLY, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE TIPPING WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS STAYED ON
AT FIRST FOR WEEKS VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OVER TO START AND WHEN IT FINALLY DID START IT WOULD SHUT OFF. IN A FEW INSTANCES THE VEHICLE STOPPED ON ME WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP ALMOST DAILY FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS, THOUGHT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE REMOTE. REPLACED THE REMOTE AND DID A FLASH UPDATE AND STILL HAD SAME ISSUE. VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED STARTING ALTOGETHER AND DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE OF THE TIPM( TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE?). TIPM, IN MY CASE HAS BEEN ON BACKORDER FOR THREE WEEKS, I'M PAYING FOR A NON FUNCTIONAL VEHICLE THAT IS JUST SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP, MY EXTENDED WARRANTY'S 6 DAY COVERAGE FOR RENTAL VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXCEEDED, AND THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE IN THE FORM OF A RENTAL VEHICLE. I'VE TALKED TO DODGE CORPORATE AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH THAT INDICATED THAT THERE WERE LOTS OF PEOPLE WAITING FOR THE SAME PART. THEY STATED THAT THE PART IS EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE IN TWO MORE MONTHS!!! I ASKED THEM AT WHAT POINT DOES THIS BECOME A RECALL ISSUE AND WHY IS DODGE NOT NOT WILLING TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT ARE OUT OF A VEHICLE BECAUSE OF AN ISSUE THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF AND HAVE NO SOLUTION FOR. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR ONLY 9 MONTHS AND IT IS JUST OUT OF MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY AT A LITTLE OVER 38,000 MILES. I AM TRULY NOT A COMPLAINING PERSON, I JUST WANT A RESOLUTION SO THAT SOMEONE ELSE DOES NOT GO THROUGH THE SAME ISSUES THAT I AND MANY OTHERS HAVE. I JUST WANT MY VEHICLE REPAIRED AND IT JUST SEEMS LIKE THIS SORT OF THING SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO CONSUMERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,900.
RIGHT FRONT STRUT HAS STARTED TO LEAK OIL. POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD DUE TO VICINITY OF THE BRAKE. AFTER SPEAKING WITH SERVICE ADVISOR AT DEALERSHIP HE STATED THIS IS THE 3RD STRUT HE SEEN REPLACED FOR LEAKAGE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A VALVE IN THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BUT THERE WAS A NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER FOR THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
2011 DODGE DURANGO... TROUBLE STARTING. WE PURCHASED IT NEW IN MARCH OF 2011. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE JUNE 2013. IT TAKES 8-15 TRIES TO GET THE CAR STARTED. IT KEEPS GETTING WORSE. MY CAR ALSO HAS A "FAN SOUND" AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF. IT RUNS DOWN THE BATTERY AND BATTERY DIES EVERYDAY. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WIPERS ERRONEOUSLY ACTIVATED, AND THE CLIMATE CONTROLS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2011 DODGE DURANGO ONLY HAD IT FOR TWO YEARS BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH IT NOT STARTING. I WOULD PUSH THE BUTTON AND SOME TIMES IT WOULD START THEN IT WOULD DIE, SO I TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER TOLD THEM WHAT IT WAS DOING, SO THEY CHECKED IT OUT THE FIRST TIME SAYING THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED, SO UPDATED AND SAID IT WAS FIXED TOOK IT HOME AND IN A COUPLE OF DAYS IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN TOOK IT BACK, SAID THAT THEY HAD TO TOO PUT NEW HEADS ON IT. SO THEY KEPT IT FOR A MONTH CALLED AND KEPT TELLING ME DEFERENT STORIES THAT THEY PUT STUFF ON IT AND STILL NOT WORKING, THEN GOING ON THREE MONTHS SAYING THEY WERE WAITING ON A PART CALLED TIPM AND IT IS BACK ORDERED. AND THAT IT WOULD BE OCTOBER 2013 BEFORE THEY GET IT.GOT MAD TOLD THEM TO PUT ME IN ANOTHER VEHICLE WENT UP THERE . ALL THE SUDDEN SAID ARE CAR WAS FIXED . BROUGHT IT HOME AND THE NEXT DAY IT DIED ON THE RAILROAD TRACK AND GAS POURING OUT OF IT. ONE SPARK WE WOULD HAD BURNED UP AND GET HIT BY THE TRAIN. AS I SPEAK THEY STILL HAVE ARE CAR TELLING US THAT THE MECHANIC DIDN'T TIGHTEN UP THE SCREWS. THIS IS CRAZY AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE .DON'T SEE HOW THEY GOT THE PART SO QUICK AFTER TELLING ME THAT IT WOULDN'T BE THERE UNTIL OCTOBER 2013. AND THEY HAVE ARE CAR GOING ON THREE MONTHS WHY DO THEY STILL HAVE IT, IF THE PART WAS PUT ON AND FIXED. *TR

PURCHASED BRAND NEW. FIRST INCIDENT IN MAY WE USED THE KEY FOB TO START THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE RAN FOR 5 MINUTES THEN SHUT DOWN. THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND WE WERE NOT ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE USING THE MANUAL KEY OR KEY FOB-VEHICLE HAVING IT TOWED. UNKNOWN CAUSE! IN JUNE, THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED WITH THE KEY FOB AND PLACED MY TWIN 3 YR OLDS IN THE CAR. THE KEY FOB WAS PLACED ON THE PASSENGER SEAT IN THE VEHICLE. ALL DOORS WERE SHUT WHEN I WAS WALKED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEN SUDDENLY THE DOORS LOCKED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AFTER 10 MINUTES, 122 DEGREES OUTSIDE. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE DOORS TO ALL LOCK. MASSIVE MALFUNCTION. I HAD TO CALL THE 911 AND HAVE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RESCUE MY CHILDREN OUT OF THE VEHICLE! INCIDENT UNKNOWN NEXT, FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS WE ARE HAVING ISSUES GETTING THE CAR TO START WITH THE PUSH BUTTON, KEY FOB AND MANUAL START. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY. NO FIX. DEALERSHIP DETERMINE THERE IS NOT A FIX AS OF THIS POINT AND HANDED US THE KEYS AND TOLD US WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THERE IS A FIX. THEY STATED THEY WILL CALL WHEN THEY DETERMINED WHY SO MANY VEHICLES HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. ELECTRICAL PROBLEM? AFTER, STILL PROBLEMS FOR 2M THE PUSH START AND KEY FOB START HAS GOTTEN WORSE. IT TAKES 8-15 TRIES TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED! PROBLEM UNRESOLVED! NEXT THIS PAST WEEK HAVING SAME STARTING ISSUES, THE CARS HAS A "FAN SOUND" AFTER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. IT RUNS DOWN THE BATTERY AND BATTERY DIES EVERY DAY. NOW, ITS BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN! THE CAR DOES NOT START FOR THEM TO [XXX] LOOK AT IT! END RESULT! THEY THINK ITS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, THEY THINK THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX THE STARTING ISSUE AFTER THE "PART" COMES IN AND COULD TAKE MONTHS, KNOWING 1500 PLUS OTHER VEHICLES NEED THIS SAME "PART" THEY NOW, OFFERED US A RENTAL CAR THAT DOESN'T FIT OUR FAMILY OF 5! PROBLEM WILL NEVER BE RESOLVED! *TR
THE WIPER DELAY DOES NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. WHEN THE CONTINUOUS NORMAL OR FAST CYCLES ARE SELECTED, THE WIPER WORKS CORRECTLY. HOWEVER, WHEN ONE OF THE THREE DELAY WIPER CYCLES IS SELECTED, THE WIPER MALFUNCTIONS. WHEN ONE OF THE THREE DELAY WIPER CYCLES IS SELECTED THE WIPERS ONLY MAKE ONE COMPLETE CYCLE ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU SELECT DELAY WIPER SPEED 1, 2, OR 3, THE WIPERS ONLY MAKE ONE PASS ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD AND THEN THEY GO TO THE HOME POSITION AND DON'T MOVE AGAIN UNLESS THE WIPER CONTROL SWITCH IS AGAIN MANIPULATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO, EQUIPPED WITH KUHMO TIRES LINE SOLUS, SIZE 265-50-R20. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW DUE TO BEING DRY ROTT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMAINING TIRES ALSO EXHIBITED DRY ROTTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
AT RANDOM TIMES THE ENGINE WILL JUST SHUT DOWN AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. IT HAS HAPPENED OVER 15 TIMES NOW GENERALLY WHEN I COME TO A FULL STOP AND ALSO WHEN I AM TAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AT SLOW SPEEDS. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF SINCE I BOUGHT THIS SUV BRAND NEW. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY CLEAR THE CODE CAUSE THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. WELL NOW IT IS ON AND WONT GO OFF, THE DEALER WONT SEND ME MY RECORDS I HAVE REQUESTED THEM THROUGH CHRYSLER DODGE 3 MONTHS AGO. THE DEALER IS SAYING I HAVE NEVER BROUGHT IT IN FOR THAT WHICH IS NOT TRUE. THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX THE TWO OPEN RECALLS THEY WANT ME TO DRIVE 80 MILES TO GET IT FIXED THEY KEEP SAYING THERE IS A LEGAL ISSUE AND THERE IS NO LEGAL ISSUE. CHRYSLER DODGE IS BELIEVING EVERYTHING THEY ARE SAYING WITH NOW PROOF. I HAVE ONLY THIS SUV FOR MY FAMILY AND NOW THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IF IN A WRECK AND CHRYSLER HAS INFORMED ME THEY COULD DEPLOY ANYTIME. HOW IS THIS SAFE??? TODAY I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT AUTO PLACE THEY HOOKED IT UP AND GOT THE CODE B1C29, LOW AND BEHOLD WENT ONLINE I FOUND 4 OPEN COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, AND THE SAME SERVICE FROM CHRYSLER THEY ARE PUTTING LIVES AT RISK. MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER DRIVES MY SUV AND I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HER CAUSE NO AIRBAGS, THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT THIS SUV FOR THE SAFETY ASPECTS. PLEASE GET THEM TO FIX THIS AND THE TWO OPEN RECALLS. VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TURNING OFF 4-LANE AND TRAFFIC BEGAN TO COME WHICH HAD TO STOP UNTIL VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN. WIPERS, LIGHTS, AND RADIO CLOCK NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY, BASICALLY ALL ELECTRICAL HAS NOT FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. VEHICLE WILL NOT START, ALSO CONTINUOUSLY CRANKS FOR10 SECONDS AN SHUTS DOWN, HAS ALSO STARTED AN IMMEDIATELY DIED. FAN SOUND RUNNING UNDER BACK SEAT, THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE TIRE GOING FLAT. AUTOMATIC START WILL NOT WORK AT TIMES. GOING 55MPH ON HIGHWAY AND ENGINE DIED. VERY VERY DANGEROUS VEHICLE TO DRIVE!!!!! PART IS SUPPOSED TO BE TIPM TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE, AND BE HERE IN 2-3 DAYS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TURNING SIGNALS WOULD NOT OPERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL SPORADICALLY AND THE WOULD OCCASIONALLY FAIL TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WOULD OPERATE NORMALLY ONCE RESTARTED AFTER STALLING, BUT THE FAILURE WAS RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE HAD MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE REAR HATCH WOULD INDEPENDENTLY OPEN AND THE DOOR LOCKS WERE ALSO MALFUNCTIONING. THE CONTACT BECAME LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE POWER DOOR LOCKS BECAME OPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BUT WAS LATER DIAGNOSED WITH A 4-WHEEL LOW LOCK SWITCH FAILURE WHEN IT ROLLED DOWNHILL WHILE SECURED IN PARK. THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE DATE AND MILEAGE ABOVE ARE APPROXIMATIONS. I PURCHASED A 2011 DODGE DURANGO IN NOVEMBER OF 2012. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT ONLY HAD ABOUT 24,000 MILES ON IT. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER I GOT IT, I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE RPMS WENT CRAZY. MY ENGINE WAS REVVING UP, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS STALLED. I HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE TO GET THE TRANSMISSION TO CHANGE GEAR. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM OCCUR ON AT LEAST 5 OTHER OCCASIONS. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS ON SATURDAY, 3/7/2015. THE RPMS WERE GOING CRAZY AS IF I WAS GUNNING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STALL, BUT IT WAS BARELY MOVING. I HAD TO STOP, PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, AND THEN PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE. IT DROVE FINE AFTER THAT, BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO STOP MY VEHICLE ON A PUBLIC ROAD TO GET THE TRANSMISSION TO CHANGE GEARS. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT MY VEHICLE WILL STALL, CAUSING A WRECK. I AM SURPRISED THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT YET. MY VEHICLE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 52,000 MILES ON IT, AND THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE DURANGO IS THE ONLY VEHICLE MY FAMILY OWNS, SO IF THE TRANSMISSION FAILS, WE WILL HAVE NO WAY TO GO ANYWHERE. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET THE TRANSMISSION LOOKED AT, MUCH LESS TO GET THE PART(S) THAT MAY BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I WANT A RELIABLE VEHICLE THAT I CAN FEEL SAFE DRIVING. *TR
DODGE DURANGO 2011 CREW-TRACTION DEFECT. GOT THE CAR 12/23/11. ON 1/12/12, DURING SNOW STORM. I LEFT WORK, CAR WOULD NOT STAY ON THE ROAD, SLID SIDEWAYS AS I TURNED. I WAS ON THE PHONE W/CO-WORKER WHO WAS BEHIND ME. I ASKED IF HE SAW MY CAR SLIDE, HE SAID YES, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO KEEP ON THE ROAD SO TOLD HIM I HAD TO GO.I DROVE TO PEORIA. I WAS GOING VERY SLOW. WENT TO SWIM MEET, THEN HEADED HOME DOWN KNOXVILLE AVE. MAYBE10 MPH, VERY CAUTIOUS, EVERYONE WAS PASSING ME. SIGNAL TURNED YELLOW, THEN RED, BUT MY CAR WOULD NOT STOP. ANTI-LOCK BRAKES WERE ON, CAR CONTINUED TO SLIDE. I SAW A TRUCK COMING A LONG WAY DOWN, I SLID INTO CROSS TRAFFIC, AND HIT THAT TRUCK. (I HAD PAIN IN MY SHOULDER, THE PAIN CONTINUED, & ON 3/30/12, HAD EMERGENCY SURGERY 4 RUPTURED CERVICAL SPINE. I NOW HAVE A PLATE,& 4 SCREWS IN MY NECK.)GOT THE CAR BACK, & TOOK IT TO TIRE SHOP TO PUT BETTER TIRES ON IT. WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG W/TIRES, & THEY WERE BETTER TIRES THAN THEY COULD SELL ME. THIS YEAR IN LESS THEN 1 INCH OF SNOW, THE CAR DID A 180 SLIDE ON MY DRIVE, THEN SLID INTO TRAFFIC (LEVEL SURFACE), A CAR MISSED ME BY INCHES. SLIDE EVEN IN A QUARTER INCH SNOW. DOESN'T MATTER WHO IS DRIVING IT, THEY SLIDE. I AGAIN WENT 2 A DIFFERENT TIRE PLACE. THEY WANTED TO SELL ME THE SAME TIRES, I SAID NO WAY! THEY OFFERED ALTERNATIVES. I DECIDED TO GOOGLE WHAT KIND OF TIRES WOULD BE GOOD FOR MY CAR. MUCH TO MY DISMAY, APPARENTLY NONE ARE. WHAT I FOUND, WAS THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL '11 DURANGO OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TIRES ON THEIR CARS. SAME PROBLEMS, DIFFERENT TIRES & DIFFERENT TIRE MANUFACTURERS. THEIR CARS WILL NOT STAY ON THE ROAD WITH SNOW OR ICE EITHER. IT IS NOT THE TIRES, ITS A THE CAR! PLEASE STOP THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. I WILL LIVE THE REST OF MY LIKE WITH TERRIBLE COMPLICATIONS FROM THE SURGERY. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR, & GOING TO HAVE TO TRADE IT, & TAKE A HUGE LOSS. *TR

I ATTEMPTED TO START MY VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START IF I STEPPED ON THE GAS VERY HARD AND SEVERAL TIME IT WOULD THEN START. I WAS THEN SITTING AT A RED LIGHT AND THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP AT MOTORWOLD. MY APPOINTMENT WASN'T FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND I CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS STARTING MY VEHICLE IN WHICH I WOULD ATTEMPT TO START THE IGNITION AND IT WOULDN'T TURN ON AND I WOULD HAVE TO STEP ON THE GAS VERY HARD UNTIL IT STARTED. I THEN HAD MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE DODGE DEALER AT MOTORWORLD. I WAS TOLD 2 DAYS LATER THAT MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A TOTAL TIPM(TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) FAILURE AND THAT MY CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I WOULD TOLD THAT THE TIPM WAS ON AN INTERGALACTIC BACK ORDER AND THAT THERE WERE NO PARTS IN USA AND THAT OVER 1000 PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE US WERE AWAITING THIS PART. I WAS TOLD THAT MOTORWOLD WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE TIPM UNTIL APPROXIMATELY SOME TIME IN NOVEMBER 2013. I WAS TOLD THAT MY WARRANTY COMPANY FIDELITY WHOM I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THROUGH WOULD ONLY COVER 1 DAY OF RENTAL. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO CONTACT CHRYSLER REGARDING A RENTAL VEHICLE. I SPEND HOURS CALLING AND ON HOLD WITH CHRYSLER WITH PHONE CALLS. I ALSO HAVE LODGED A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION. AT THIS TIME I AM PAYING FOR VEHICLE THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE. I AM CURRENTLY IN A RENTAL VEHICLE AND IT IS UNKNOWN WHEN MY VEHICLE WILL BE FIXED. I FEAR THAT THE TIPM WILL BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER FAULTY PART. WE BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH STARTING THE CAR ON 7/30/2013. IN TRYING TO START IT, IT SIMPLY WOULDN'T GO. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS THE CAR WOULD FINALLY START. WE BROUGHT OUR 2011 DODGE DURANGO TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) THAT WAS NOT SENDING THE SIGNAL CORRECTLY TO FUEL PUMP. NOW FORWARD 6+ WEEKS AND OUR CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. APPARENTLY THE TIPM CHIP IS ON INDEFINITE BACK ORDER. BEING TOLD THAT BECAUSE WE'RE AT 37,104 MILES, THERE'S NOTHING CORPORATE CAN DO. SO THE VEHICLE IS STILL SITTING THERE AND THERE IS NO ETA ON WHEN WE'LL GET IT BACK.. TRIED TO BE PATIENT AND SUGGESTED A FREE RENTAL BUT WAS SHUT DOWN BY CORPORATE. AT MY WITS END.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT A PART LIKE THIS WOULD GO OUT ON A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE AND THERE NOT BE A REPLACEMENT PART READILY AVAILABLE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE LOCAL CHRYSLER/DODGE DEALERSHIP SINCE JULY 24, WAITING FOR THE "REDESIGNED MODULE". DEALERSHIP ADVISES WE ARE ON A WAITING LISTING WITH 400 OTHER OWNERS. PART WAS SUPPOSED TO BE READY TO SHIP BY 8/20. NOW, I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THIS DATE HAS BEEN REVISED TO SEPTEMBER. *TT
JUNE OF 2013, ENGINE START PROBLEMS, CRANK AND NO START, OR CRANK AND RUN VERY ROUGH -- SEVER MISFIRES. COMPLAINED TO DEALER, NO CODES, SO THEY SAY NO PROBLEM. PROBLEM BECAME MORE SEVERE, RECORDED VIDEO AND AUDIO OF THE PROBLEM ON MY PHONE. ALSO HAD ISSUE WITH SIRIUS/XM LOOSING ALL STATION PRESETS, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD LOOSE CONNECTION WITH THE KEY FOB. COULD BE POWER ISSUE. THEY OPTED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP WITH NO DIAGNOSTICS TO CONFIRM THAT THIS WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED TOOK THE VEHICLE HOME, NEXT MORNING IT WOULD CRANK AND NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, EVENTUALLY THE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) WAS REPLACED. AT LEAST ONE ISSUE WITH THE TIPM HAS BEEN SUBSTANDARD SOLID STATE RELAYS INSIDE THE MODULE. THIS FUNDAMENTAL FLAW HAS SEEMED TO CAUSE A FLOOD OF PROBLEMS ACROSS THE CHRYSLER PRODUCT LINE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF SYMPTOMS. DUE TO THE WIDE RANGE OF SYMPTOMS, VERY POOR BUILT IN DIAGNOSTICS, AND THE INABILITY OR UNWILLINGNESS OF SERVICE DEPARTMENTS TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS, THIS HAS LED TO UNDER REPORTING OF TIPM ISSUE. PLEASE ASK FOR DATA FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING TIPM REPLACEMENTS FOR MODEL YEARS SINCE ITS INTRODUCTION. I STILL HAVE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH ENGINE STARTING AND RUNNING VERY ROUGH (SEVERE MISFIRES), NO CODES ALONG OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. POWER TRAIN THUMP AND SHUDDER, CONSTANTLY COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP, DID NOT TAKE ANY ACTION UNTIL RECENTLY (JAN 2014 WITH APPROXIMATELY 58,000 MILES), WHEN THE AUTOMATIC 4 WHEEL DRIVE WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN POOR WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS. NO CODES RELATED TO THE PROBLEM, I DROVE THE VEHICLE AND DEMONSTRATED THE PROBLEM. DEALER COULD NOT RECREATE PROBLEM WHEN CHRYSLER TECHNICIAN CAME TO SERVICE LOCATION. IT IS LIKELY THE SYSTEM WAS RESET TO LEARN MODE, TRANSMISSION DID NOT DISPLAY PROBLEM DURING LEARN MODE.REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED THE TRANSFER CASE (OVER 9 WEEKS IN THE SHOP). PROBLEM MAY HAVE BEEN SOLVED, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DUE TO WEATHER AND BUSINESS TRAVEL. THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS YEAR IS A MERCEDES UNIT, EFFECTIVELY A [XXX] STEP CHILD WITH NO ONGOING TECHNICAL SUPPORT.. DODGE DURANGO 2011 CREW-TRACTION DEFECT. GOT THE CAR 12/23/11. ON 1/12/12, DURING SNOW STORM. I LEFT WORK, CAR WOULD NOT STAY ON THE ROAD, SLID SIDEWAYS AS I TURNED. WHEN IGNITION ON, SITTING IN VEHICLE LISTENING TO FM RADIO STATION, OVERHEAD REAR ELECTRIC HATCH BUTTON WAS PRESSED AND HATCH OPENED. JUST AFTER OPENING REAR HATCH, PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPENED. I TOOK IT BACK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD A MECHANIC RIDE WITH ME AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY ISSUES TO BE RESOLVED. *TR
