5.7L HEMI ENGINE DEFECT: AT 105,665 MILES THE ENGINE HAS DEVELOPED A FLATTENED CAM ALONG WITH DAMAGED LIFTERS AT NUMBER EIGHT CYLINDER. I SUSPECT THAT THE ADJACENT LIFTERS AND MORE THAN ONE LOBE OF THE CAM IS DAMAGED. DODGE DEALERSHIP SERVICE GROUP IS REQUIRING $1000 DEPOSIT TERADOWN FEE TO CONFIRM SUPECT AILMENT, TO BE APPLIES TO REAIR, IF AUTHORIZED. RANGE QUOTED BETWEEN $2000 AND $4000. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND SOME COST AS HIGH AS $4800. RESEARCH HAS ALSO SHOWN THIS DEFECT OF THE 5.7L HEMI ENGINE IS NOT A RARE OCCURENCE. I REQUESTED ASSISTANCT FROM DODGE, IT WAS DENIED. VEHICLE IS IN SHOP. I WILL HAVE TO MOVE IF NOT FIXED TO AVOID STORAGE CHARGES.

I GO GET MY CHECK FROM WORK I PULL UP RIGHT TO THE DOOR GET OUT I LEAVE IT UNLOCKED BC I ONLY WALK BOUT 5 STEPS TO INSIDE GRAB MY CHECK COME OUT TAKES LESS THAN 30 SECONDS GET IN TRY TO PUT IN DRIVE IT EONT MOVE I HAVE TO POWER OFF AN ON TO GET IT TO WORK I KNO IT SHUDNT DO THAT ONLY WEN I USE REMOTE. 2ND COMPLAINT WHEN DRIVING SAY I TURN THE CORNER AN GET ON GAS TO ACCELERATE IT WILL FEEL AS IF ITS LOST SOME POWER AS IF ITS DIED. LATELY IT'S BEEN WHILE DRIVING ITLL JERK A FEW TIMES OUT OF NOWHERE I CAN BE ON A STRAIGHTAWAY AN ITLL JUST GET TO JERKING. CAN YOU PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE ISSUES FOR CONSUMER SAFETY. ITS SCARY. BEFORE THE ALTERNATOR RECALL I WAS GOIN THRU ONE OF OUR MAIN INTERSECTIONS AN IT JUS LOST ALL POWER EVERYTHING JUS SHUT OFF AN LIKE 3 SECONDS LATER IT ALL FIRED BACK UP AN CONTINUED ROLLIN DAYS LATER MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT AN LEFT ME STRANDED AT THE CARWASH. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET THEN IT WAS RECALLED. I WAS REIMBURSED BUT I'M JUS WORRIED BOUT MY FAMILIES SAFETY SO PLEASE LOOK INTO THE MENTIONED COMPLAINTS IN THIS. I HAD TO PICK A DATE OF OCCURENCE TO SUBMIT THIS SO IM PUTTING ANY DATE BUT THESE THINGS HAVE HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE OFTEN LATELY. THANK YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT CRANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TRONCALLI CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (818 ATLANTA HWY, CUMMING, GA 30040) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) IN 2014. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND SLOWING DOWN TO STOP OR EXIT THE ROAD VIA OFF RAMP OR TURN, THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY STALL CAUSING BRAKES AND STEERING TO BECOME NON-RESPONSIVE. THERE IS NO WARNING PRIOR TO VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN. IT HAPPENS SUDDENLY AND RANDOMLY. IT ALWAYS APPEARS TO BE WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO EXIT A ROAD OR TAKE A TURN. I HAVE TO COAST THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT STOPS AND PUT IT INTO PARK OR NEUTRAL TO START IT AGAIN. IT WORKS FINE UNTIL THE NEXT TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED SIX TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH.
HEAT SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPELLY. RIGHT SIDE REMAIN OFF , WHOLE SYSTEM STARTING DELAYED AND SUDDENLY STOP .
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY THERE WAS A WHINING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THEN DASHBOARD LIGHTS STARTED TURNING ON AN OFF RANDOMLY, THE TOUCHSCREEN WENT OUT. LESS THAN A MINUTE LATER THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. TRAVELING 45 MPH ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. STEERED THE CAR TO THE SHOULDER. THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. UNDER THE HOOD, IT LOOKED LIKE THE ALTERNATOR AND/OR BATTERY WERE SMOKING. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON 2011 DODGE DURANGO FOR A FAULTY ALTERNATOR BUT MY DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE CURRENT RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO ABOUT 45 MPH, MY BATTERY LITE CAME ON, WITHIN A MATTER OF APPROX 2 MINUTES, ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND WERE BLINKING AND ALARMING, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON, MY AC TURNED OFF, MY FASTEN SEAGHT BELT LIGHTS CAME ON AND ALARMED AND THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR LOST POWER AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND I QUICKLY TRIED TO HANOVER THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ONTO INCOMING TRAFFIC. AT THE SAME TIME THE BRAKES WENT OUT THEN THE ENTIRE DASH/PANEL WENT OUT AS WELL AS MY HEADLIGHTS. THIS WAS 6 AM AND IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE. I GOT OVER THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AND GET OFF THE BUSY STREET. I THEN HAD TO WAIT TILL THE CAR STOPPED ON ITS OWN AS THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. ALSO NO HEADLIGHTS. I TRIED TO TURN ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND THE WOULD NOT GO ON. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND GOT OUT AS I COULD SMELL BURNING OF WHAT I THOUGHT WAS ELECTRICAL WIRES. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. I COULD NOT EVEN LOCK THE CAR AS THE KEY FOB DID NOT WORK. IT IS AT THE DEALER NOW AND I AM WAITING FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE INCIDENT WAS VERY DISTURBING AND UNSAFE AS I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR. LUCKILY DUE TO THE TIME OF DAY, THERE WAS LITTLE ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND I HAD NOT ENTERED THE FREEWAY YET.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE FILLED WITH SMOKE AND THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNT ELECTRICAL ODOR. ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS SURROUNDED BY FLAMES. UPON A SECOND EXAMINATION OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT REMOVED THE BATTERY COVER UNDERNEATH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT TO ENSURE THAT THE FIRE WAS CONTAINED WITHIN THE ALTERNATOR AND HAD NOT SPREAD ELSEWHERE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ITSELF (FIZZLED OUT). A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CROSSROADS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (4510 WHITEHILL BLVD, PRINCE GEORGE, VIRGINIA 23875, (877) 360-5755) AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH REFERENCE NUMBER: 352-462-90. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SUBJECT TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,500.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY HEARD A LOUD POP, THOUGHT I HAD RUN OVER SOMETHING. CHECKED AND SAW NOTHING. PROCEEDED AND HEARD ANOTHER POP AND THE BACK TIRES BEGAN TO RUB. HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION HAD SEPARATED FROM THE UNDERCARRIAGE AND THAT THE BOLTS WERE INTACT BUT THERE WERE CRACKS IN THE CARRIAGE CAUSING THE SUSPENSION ROD TO SEPARATE. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IN 30 YEARS HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. COST OF REPAIR IS ESTIMATED TO BE IN THE THOUSANDS.
I AM FILING A COMPLAINT OR THE PEOPLE HANDLING THE RECALL REIMBURSEMENT. I SENT IT IN ON SEPT 7TH AND NOW 90 DAYS LATER, 12 CALLS, PUT ON HOLD FOR 30 MINS EACH, AND NO ONE KNOWING ANYTHING. STILL NO ANSWER ON MY REFUND. WAS TOLD ON DAY 88 THAT THEY NEEDED SOMETHING ELSE AND NOW NO ONE CAN EVER ANSWER WHAT IT IS THEY NEED. SUPPOSEDLY THE CK IS CUT BUT NOT MAILED AND IT HAS BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE NOV. I ALSO SENT IN PAPER WORK FOR MY PCM WHICH THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND AND I JUST GAVE UP ON THAT 1500 DOLLAR REPAIR. MY PCM HAS WENT OUT SEVERAL TIMES AND ITS ONLY WHEN SOMETHING GOES OUT ON MY CAR. HOWEVER I AM TRYING TO GET THE PROBLEM SOLVED ON GETTING MY REFUND FOR THE RECALL FIRST. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE WITH DODGE. NEVER TALK TO MORE PEOPLE THAT PLACED YOU ON HOLD AND DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING. PLEASE HELP THEY JUST GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND.
THE DASH BOARD WILL LIGHT UP AND THE WINDSHELD WIPERS WILL START TO GO WITH OUT DOING ANYTHING, THEN THE DASHBOARD FAILS AND POWERS DOWN AND THEN TRIES TO START BACK UP. IT CAUSED MY DURANGO TO LOSE POWER THEN POWER BACK UP. I DO HAVE A VIDEO THAT I WILL TRY TO INCLUDE PLEASE EXCUSE THE LANGUAGE IN IT.
VEHICLE IS STILL STALLING AFTER I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE RECALL HAS BEEN ADDRESSED. IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE THE DEALER FIXED THE RECALLS AND THIS IS THE SECOND DAY MY CAR HAS STALLED WHILE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL.
CAR BEGAN MISFIRING WHILE DRIVING, AND THEN WOULD NOT MOVE ONCE STOPPED AND THEN PUT BACK INTO GEAR. ENGINE LIGHT AND FCW INDICATORS CAME ON. INITIAL DIAGNOSIS WAS TO REPLACE TWO SENSORS. PROBLEM RETURNED AFTER REPLACEMENT. NEXT DIAGNOSIS WAS TO REPLACE ALL 16 SPARK PLUGS WITH BOOTS. STILL DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS CHECKED TO FIND ANY LEAKS, NONE WERE FOUND, BUT A NEW CODE ORIGINATED TO RE-FLASH COMPUTER. COMPUTER WAS PULLED AND FOUND TO BE TAKING ON WATER AND CORRODING TERMINALS. COMPUTER WAS CLEANED AND RE-SEALED TO FIX PROBLEM. BUT COMPUTER IS LIKELY TO TAKE ON MORE WATER AND CORRODE AGAIN. TOTAL REPAIR WAS OVER 1600.00 AND 20 DAYS IN SHOP. INCLUDED DOCUMENT DOES NOT INCLUDE INITIAL SENSORS AND PLUG REPLACEMENT. MECHANIC INDICATED THAT BASED ON OBSERVATION, WIRES CONNECTING TO COMPUTER HAD BEEN WORKED ON IN THE PAST, LIKELY TO ADDRESS SIMILAR PROBLEM
I HAD JUST STARTED DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN MY DASH STARTED DINGING AND MY TEMP WENT FROM COLD TO EXTREMELY HOT SO I PULLED OVER.THERE WAS PLENTY OF OIL AND WATER IN IT(I DOUBLE CHECKED).I STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND IT WENT COLD AGAIN,AS I STARTED DRIVING TO THE NEAREST EXIT OFF THE FREEWAY A FEW NOMENTS LATER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT,IT ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT WOUNDNT LET ME GIVE IT GAS.IT SLOWED WAY DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY.I GOT IT OFF THE FREEWAY EVENTUALLY IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL THEN QUICKLY STARTED TO MAKE AN AWFUL SOUND.I STOPPED THE CAR AGAIN FOR THE FOURTH TIME AND OPENED THE HOOD AND HOT SMOKE VAME OUT.AFTER I LET IT COOL FOR 2 HOURS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IT WOUNDNT START.IT WANTED TO BUT NO FUEL WAS GETTING TO WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSE TOO.I HAD IT LOOKED AT AND NO BLOWN ROD.THEY SAID OT LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL SOMETHING OR OTHER.I HAD IT TOLLED TO MY HOME 335 MILES AWAY WHERE IT SITS BROKE AND IT COST ME 300.00 THU AAA.TWO DAYS LATER ON 8/17/18 I GET A RECALL NOTICE ON THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND ALTERNATOR DIODE THERMAL FATIGUE.THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS MY CAR ALMOST CAUSED A HUGE MULTI CAR COLLISION ON I 30 IN TX. AND IT STRANDED ME IN A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD..
THE ALTERNATOR CAUSES MY TRUCK TO STALL AT TIMES, AND NOT START AT OTHER TIMES, I HAVE GONE THROUGH TWO BATTERIES AS A RESULT OF THIS. IT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT WHILE DRIVING, I COULD TELL THAT IT WAS SLUGGISH, AND THIS MORNING WOULDN'T START, THEN, NEXT THING YOU KNOW, IT STARTS.

THE CONTACT CALLED DEERY BROTHERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM IOWA CITY (651 HIGHWAY 1 WEST, IOWA CITY, IA 52246, (319) 887-9000), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,875.

MILLER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM ALBUQUERQUE, 8528 LOMAS BLVD NE, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87110) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS THE CAR WILL AUTOMATICALLY STOP WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND IN THE STREET. I HAVE TAKEN THE CARE TO THE SHOP AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, BUT THE CARE STILL STALL WHEN DRIVING.
MY CAR WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT, I WAS GOING 50 MPH ON FREEWAY AND IT WAS RAVING BY ITSELF AT 5-6000 RPMS....AT DEALER NOW THEY TELL ME I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION COOLER!!! THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN A COMPLETE LEMON, HEADLINER CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING, DUE TO RECALL ON VISORS WHICH HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. ALTERNATOR CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO RECALL THEY HAD NO FIX FOR..ENGINE HEADS REPLACED, RECALL...TOTALLY UNSAFE, AS MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER, LIGHTS STEERING, WHEN ALTERNATOR WENT OUT.
CAR HAS BEEN STALLING BUT THEN STARTING RIGHT BACK UP FOR NO REASON FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW. NOT ALL THE TIME BUT WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKES OR MAKE A SLIGHT TURN.
ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASHED AND CENTER DISPLAYED SYSTEM ERROR THEN FCW ERROR THEN THE FCW LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ONE. AFTER ANOTHER FEW SECONDS THE RADIO POWERS ON AND OFF AND EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL BUT THE THE BATTERY LIGHT REMAINS ON.
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT CONNECTOR MELTING
ALTERNATOR SMOKING AND WINDING NOISE AND BATTERY LIGHT AND ALL DASH LIGHTS ON LOSS OF ALL POWER AND DRAINED BATTERY WHILE DRIVING
MY CAR HAS STALLED ON ME TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING 50 MPH. A LIGHT COMES ON SAYING FCW OFF AND MY WHEEL LOCKS AND MY CAR STOPS. I AM CURRENTLY 8 1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT AND AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE MY OWN CAR. I HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I TURNED MY CAR ON THIS MORNING AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME MOVE IT UNTIL I TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON THEN IT'S FINE. THIS IS A LARGE CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE I TRAVEL ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK EVERYDAY.
THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL & SMOKE COMING FROM MY CAR. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF IT WENT COMPLETELY DEAD. I HAD THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY REPLACED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR $640. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR DIED ON ME AGAIN IN THE TURNING LANE OF A BUSY STREET AT 4PM. IT WOULD NOT TAKE A BOOST. I HAD TO WAIT 2 HOURS TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO A DODGE DEALER. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED AGAIN WITH A RECALL ALTERNATOR BUT IT WAS FOUND THE ALTERNATOR ALSO BURNED OUT THE PCM. I HAD TO PAY $700 TO HAVE THE PCM REPLACED. DODGE/CHRYSLER RECALL DEPT ASSURED ME I WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE ALTERNATOR, BATTERY & PCM. IT HAS BEEN 2.5 MONTHS & NO REIMBURSEMENT. I HAVE SUBMITTED RECEIPTS 3 TIMES BY EMAIL & FAX. THIS IS THE 2ND RECALL ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR. IN 2015 THE TPM & BATTERY WERE REPLACED. I WAS NOTIFIED BY PHONE OF A SUN VISOR LIGHT RECALL BY A LOCAL DODGE SERVICE CENTER IN MARCH BUT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF ANY OF THE MAJOR RECALLS WITH THE TPM, ALTERNATOR OR BRAKE BOOSTER.
ON 4/16/18 I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO PHILLIPS CJDR TO TAKE CARE OF A MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE RECALL IS FOR THE ALTERNATOR DIODE THERMAL FATIGUE (T36/NHTSA 17V-435.) WHEN I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE I WAS INFORMED THAT NO SAFETY INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO IT BEING RELEASED BACK TO ME. I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND IT DIDN'T SEEM AS IF IT WAS DRIVING RIGHT, BUT WE THOUGHT THAT MAYBE IT JUST NEEDED TO BE DRIVEN. THE NEXT TIME WE DROVE THE VEHICLE WAS 4/25/18, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO DROP MY CHILDREN OFF AT SCHOOL WHICH IS ONLY 7 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. WHEN I WENT TO START MY VEHICLE, IT WOULD NOT START. IT APPEARED TO BE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS GETTING NO POWER. AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE IT STARTED WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. AT THIS POINT THE VEHICLE HAD NO ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS AND WOULD NOT START. 5/5/18 MY MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ASKED WHAT HAD BEEN GOING ON. I INFORMED HIM THE VEHICLE WAS JUST AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR AN ALTERNATOR RECALL. WHEN HE SAW MELTED WIRING AND ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS HE TOLD ME TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK TO DODGE. 5/11/18 I CONTACTED PHILLIPS DODGE AND MADE THEM AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AT HAND. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER GARY INFORMED ME TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK THERE ASAP. 5/14/2018 I WAS INFORMED THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE TIPM AND PROVIDED ME WITH A QUOTE TO REPLACE THE PART. I ASKED HIM WHAT WENT WRONG WITH IT AND HE NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT CONCLUSIVELY DETERMINE WHAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE IN THE TIPM. BUT THEY COULD COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT WAS A REPAIR I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR AND NOT LINKED TO THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS IN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A RECALL ON A PART DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE SAME PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING.
ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING, SPECIALLY WHILE TAKING A TURN. THIS CAUSE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER IN THE CAR INCLUDING THE BRAKES. THIS HAS BEEN HAPENNING IN THE LAST TWO YEARS CAUSING A BIG RISK OF LOSING MY LIFE IN A CRASH. THE CAR DEALER AUTOCENTRO TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY CAR IN THIS MATTER. THIS MAKES MY CAR VERY DANGEROUS AND IMPOSSIBLE TO SELL, I NEED HELP.
THE LAST RECALL THAT WAS PERFORMED WAS THE P54 FUEL RELAY. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS SOMEWHERE IN THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE REASON I SUSPECT THIS IS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAS LOTS OF INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. FOR EXAMPLE, THE ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY FOR NO REASON SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, POWER LOCKS OPEN ON THEIR OWN, VEHICLE HAS DIFFICULTY STARTING AT TIMES AND THEN STARTS RIGHT UP MOST OF THE TIME, AND ALL WITHOUT A WARNING OR ERROR CODE ON THE DASHBOARD. THE MOST RECENT PROBLEM ALMOST KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY THIS MORNING AS THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, AGAIN NO ERROR CODES OR WARNINGS. AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE OPENED BECAUSE THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS THE VEHICLE CAN TURN OFF AT ANY MOMENT AND WITHOUT WARNING.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE STOPPED OR SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN. THIS VEHICLE HAS STALLED 3 TIMES WHILE STOPPED ON A CITY STREET AND ONCE WHILE MAKING A TURN IN FRONT OF ON COMING TRAFFIC.
WHILE DRIVING AFTER A 30 MINUTE COMMUTE AND ENTERING STOP AND GO DOWNTOWN MORNING COMMUTE TRAFFIC, (SLOW, DRIVING ON CITY STREETS BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC) MY DURANGO BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT INTO THE CABIN. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON DURING THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. ALL TEMP GAUGES SHOWED NORMAL. THE CAR BECAME INCREASINGLY HARD TO DRIVE, FEELING TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE. MORE SMOKE CAME FROM OUT OF ALL SIDES OF THE HOOD. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE AND CHECKING THE HOOD, I COULD SEE FLUID COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT ENGINE COMPARTMENT - TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR. WHEN I LIFTED THE HOOD, THE ENGINE WAS FULLY INVOLVED IN FLAMES. I DROPPED THE HOOD CLOSED AND RAN TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. WITHING 15 MINUTES THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS BURNED OUT, HOOD AND VARIOUS OTHER PARTS MELTED. CAR HAD TO BE TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE AGENCY.

T36 ALTERNATOR. I GOT A RECALL IN THE MAIL FOR ME TO TAKE MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE MY ALTERNATOR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MY ALTERNATOR WAS NOT LISTED AS AFFECTED FROM MY VIN. A WHILE AFTERWARDS, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FRIEND IN THE CAR AND MY CAR SYSTEMS SLOWLY BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN AND MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE TOWED BY TRIPLE A TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT MY CAR'S ALTERNATOR HAD FAILED. I PAID $638.60 OUT OF POCKET FOR A REPLACEMENT ALTERNATOR. MY CAR EXPERIENCED THE EXACT REASONS FOR THE T36 RECALL. LUCKILY I WAS PULLING OVER FROM A CITY STREET AS MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. BUT HAD I BEEN GOING 60-70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, I COULD'VE EASILY LOST CONTROL OF THE FAILING VEHICLE AND PERSONALLY DIED. I HAVE TALKED WITH CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY INSIST THAT MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW A FAULTY ALTERNATOR. AFTER HAVING MY CAR DANGEROUSLY SHUT DOWN ON ME AND CATCH FIRE, CHRYSLER PHONE OPERATORS DON'T SEEMED BOTHERED WITH MY SITUATION BECAUSE THE T36 RECALL IS "VIN SPECIFIC AND DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE." I'M WONDERING IF I NEED TO HAVE A LAWYER LOOK INTO THIS TO SAVE OTHER DRIVERS FROM DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATIONS LIKE THE ONE I WAS PUT IN.
TODAY'S DATE IS APRIL 10, 2018. OUR 2011 DODGE DURANGO CITADEL BEGAN STALLING AND THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF WITHOUT WARNING ON FEBRUARY 25, 2018. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON APRIL 8TH, 2018 AND THEN AGAIN ON APRIL 9, 2018. EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED, THERE IS NO WARNING. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED MY WIFE WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AND ALMOST ENDED UP IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS MAKING A STOP AFTER GETTING OFF AN EXIT RAMP. AND THE MOST RECENT TIME, 4/9/18, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN A HILL AND COMING TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION. THE LAST TWO TIMES WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS. THE VEHICLE LOSES ALL POWER, INCLUDING BRAKES AND POWER STEERING, WHICH PROVES A LITTLE CHALLENGING IF MAKING A TURN INTO TRAFFIC. I CALLED CHRYSLER IN THE US BUT BECAUSE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED AND WAS NOT AWARE THAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY SHIPPED AND TITLED IN CANADA, THE US COMPANY PROVED NOT TO BE HELPFUL. ULTIMATELY, I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. I HAVE OWNED 4-5 CHRYSLER PRODUCTS (2005 AND 2011 DODGE DURANGOS, 2003 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WITH AN ENGINE ISSUE AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, POOR CUSTOMVER SERVICE. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND IT COULD BE ANYTHING FROM THE TPIM CONTROL MODULE, THE ALTERNATOR, THE FUEL PUMP RELAY, ETC.
THE ENGINE IS MISFIRING WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I HAD THE VERY SAME ISSUE APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AGO. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS REPLACED. LUCKILY IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THE REPAIR COSTED OVER $3000. THE ISSUE HAS STARTED AGAIN AND UNFORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I DO NOT HAVE $3000 TO GET THIS REOCCURRING PROBLEM FIXED.

I HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY 2011 DODGE DURANGO. I BOUGHT IT IN 2012. SINCE THEN IT'S BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP. I THINK IF I'M BOT MISTAKEN ITS BEEN SERVICE MORE THEN 10 TIMES. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE TIPM IN THE PAST. WELL IT'S BEEN A WHILE BUT RECENTLY IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING AND ALL THE GUAGES ON THE DASHBOARD WENT CRAZY. TURNING OFF AND ON ALL THE WARNING LIGHT STARTED TURNING ON AND OFF ALSO. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON ALSO. THE HEATER TURNED ON I COULDN'T TURN IT OFF. AS I WAS DRIVING I COULDN'T EVEN CONTROL THE STEERING. IT WAS THE SCARIEST THING LIKE MY CAR WAS POSSESSED. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT A VECHICLE YOU SO MUCH MONEY CAN JUST DO THIS. I WAS SCARED FOR MY AND MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY. AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. I TRIED MY BEST TO STAY CALM AND I JUST FOCED ON GETTING HOME. WHICH IS WHERE I WAS HEADED. I MADE IT HOME PARKED IN THE DRIVE WAY. NY CAR BARELY CLEARED TGE SIDEWALK INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND WOULDN'T MOVE ANY FARTHER. IT WAS MAKING AN UGLY LOUD RUMBLING NOISE. AND IT STARTED SMOKING ALOT OUT IF THE EXHAUST. IT SHUT OFF AND HASN'T TURNED IN SINCE THEN. I SAT THERE TRYING TO CALN DOWN BECAUSE MY ADRENALINE WAS GOING FROM BEING SCARED FOR MY CHILDREN. AND ALSO MY EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED SO ANY REPAIR COST WILL HAVE TO BE PAID OUT OF POCKET. I REMEMBER WHEN I TOLD MY HUSBAND I WANTED A DODGE DURANGO. BECAUSE IT WAS MY DREAM VEHICLE. NOW IT'S MORE LIKE A NIGHTMARE. IF MY FRIENDS ASK IF I LIKE MY DURANGO AND IF I WOULD RECOMMEND THEY BUY ONE I TELL THEM NO. THIS IS SAD BECAUSE WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A DODGE FAMILY.. AND NOW IM SITTING AT HOME WITH NO VEHICLE TO GET MY KIDS TO SCHOOL. AND I CAN'T EVEN GET TO WORK EITHER. MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN. YOU WOULD THINK DODGE WOULD MAKE A DEPENDABLE CAR FOR THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS.
RECALL T36 2011 DODGE DURANGO WHILE DRIVING, MY DURANGO BEGAN LOSING POWER. WHEN I PULLED OVER AND LIFTED THE HOOD, SMOKE WAS POURING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. IT WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC, WHO INFORMED ME THAT THE ALTERNATOR BURNED UP AND MY 3 MONTH OLD BATTERY WAS NOW DEAD. AFTER THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE REPLACED, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER CONTROL MODULE WAS FRIED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED.
MY CAR LOST ALL POWER!! WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT NIGHT. WOULD NOT EVEN LOCK. NO LIGHTS, NO POWER AT ALL. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE MY COMMUTE HOME ABOUT 20 MILES AT NIGHT .
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT NIGHT. MY BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. JUST GOT A NEW BATTERY A FEW MONTHS AGO WHEN WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED, BECAUSE OF HEADLINER FIRE, DUE TO SUN VISOR RECALL. SO, I PULL INTO A PARKING LOT, ALL KINDS OF STRANGE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING CAR COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER, NO LIGHTS NO EMERGENCY LIGHTS, NOTHING! LOOKED UNDER HOOD AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS SMOKING. CALLED CORPORATE SAID IT WAS A RECALL BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT. I HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET AND PAY FOR REPAIRS AND BE REIMBURSED BY DODGE. IT ALSO RUINED MY BATTERY. CAR IS STILL BEING SERVICED SO DON'T KNOW IF ANYTHING ELSE WAS DAMAGED AS OF YET. I WILL UPDATE.

THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COLLISION WARNING SENSOR FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES.
