FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT, WHICH LIGHTS UP DURING CAR START-UP SEQUENCE, DOES NOT LIGHT WHEN SEAT IS EMPTY. BROUGHT INTO ROYAL GATE DODGE, BALLWIN MO FOR SERVICE. WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE BY DESIGN AND THAT IT WOULD ONLY ILLUMINATE WHEN THERE WAS WEIGHT (APPROX 10LBS - 40LBS) IN THE SEAT. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED, NO ACTION TAKEN BY DEALER TO CORRECT SITUATION, NO SENSOR CHECK WAS ACCOMPLISHED. THE DEFECTIVE SENSOR, WHICH INDICATES THERE IS SUFFICIENT WEIGHT IN THE SEAT TO FIRE AIRBAG, CAN CAUSE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES INCLUDING THE DEATH. AT THE VERY LEAST THE BAG WOULD FIRE UNNECESSARILY CAUSING EXTENSIVE REPAIR COSTS TO REPLACE THE BAG AND DASH (LIKELY A DESIRABLE RESULT FOR THE DEALER). MORE IMPORTANTLY, IF A SMALLER PERSON OR CHILD IS SITTING IN SEAT, SERIOUS INJURY COULD RESULT. SPECIFIC DATE REPORTED CAN BE OBTAINED FROM DEALER. DATE BELOW VERY APPROXIMATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES INTERFERED WITH ONE ANOTHER WHILE USED AND WERE ALSO BENDING. THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BLADES WITH SHORTER BLADES HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A SHOP FOR A ROUTINE INSPECTION, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE ON BACK ORDER AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD BE AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 45,345.
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING OUR 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE DRIVER'S-SIDE, REAR WINDOW BLEW INTO THE CAR. IT CONCERNS US BECAUSE, AS A PARENT, ONE OF MY CHILDREN COULD HAVE BEEN SITTING IN THE THIRD ROW AND WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THANKFULLY IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT TO WHICH THE ACTUAL CAUSE (OF A "BROKEN WINDOW") WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN REALIZED. I AM NOT SURE WHETHER THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT OR AN ANOMALY, BUT I WOULD LIKE MY COMPLAINT TO BE RECORDED BASED UPON THESE CONCERNS. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED, AND IS NOT AVAILABLE AS THE WINDOW SHATTERED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. AFTER REPAIRING THE BRAKES, THE CONTACT TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL AND HEARD UNUSUAL NOISES. A WEEK LATER, HE DISCOVERED OIL ON THE GROUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS FAILING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE ON BACKORDER. WE OWN A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN , THE PROBLEMS STARTED WITH THE TURN INDICATOR NOT WORK CORRECTLY , IT FLASHES ON THE WRONG SIDE , IF YOU CLICK IT TO TURN RIGHT THE LIGHTS WORK FOR THE LEFT SIDE , SOME TIME IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL. NOW THE KEY LESS ENTRY DOESN'T WORK THE FIRST TIME YOU PRESS IT UNLOCKS THE DRIVERS SIDE ONLY PRESS IT TWO TIMES RAPIDLY AND IT WILL UNLOCK THE REAR HATCH AND PASSENGERS SIDE. THIS MODEL VAN HAS MASSIVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS I KEEP SMELLING BURNING WIRES BUT I HAVE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE ITS OUR ONLY VEHICLE AND I HAVE 4 CHILDREN SO IM ALWAYS WORRIED ABOUT THERE SAFETY IN THIS VAN. WE HAVE OWNED IT SINCE NEW SO THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING CHANGED BYE ANYONE BESIDES THE DODGE DEALER. BTW TOOK IT TO DODGE THEY NEVER HAVE FIGURED IT OUT AND THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED NOW SO I AM STUCK WITH IT. *TR
THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ON THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. MANY TIMES, WHEN IT IS SWITCHED ON, THE OPPOSITE TURN SIGNAL TURNS ON (IE. THE SWITCH IS FLIPPED TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, BUT THE LEFT SIGNAL LIGHTS). SOMETIMES IT WILL COME ON FOR THE PROPER DIRECTION, BUT THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTS FLASHING TO THE OTHER SIDE. SOMETIMES THE SIGNAL TURNS ON PROPERLY BUT THEN JUST STOPS DOING ANYTHING, EVEN THOUGH THE SWITCH IS STILL "ON". AND YET OTHER TIMES, THE TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT TURN ON AT ALL. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING OVER THE LAST MONTH OR SO, BUT IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD, BUT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS 2000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY, DODGE IS NOT WILLING TO REPAIR THIS WITHOUT A CHARGE. *TR
OUR BRAKES HAVE FAILED FOR THE SECOND TIME. I TOOK MY VAN BACK TO THE SHOP THAT REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS IN MAY. THEY TOLD ME THE CALIPERS WERE DEFECTIVE, AS THEY WERE UNDER WARRANTY I TOOK THE VAN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THE NEW ROTORS THAT WERE PUT ON IN MAY WERE DEFECTIVE, THEY REFUSED REPAIRS AND CHARGED ME $50. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING VIBRATED AND THE VEHICLE FELT OUT OF ALIGNMENT. PRECISION ALIGNMENT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS WORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TO DETERMINE IF THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS FAULTY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT WHEN ANOTHER CAR TURNED LEFT IN FRONT OF MY CAR AT A LIGHT. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND MY SEATBELT APPEARED TO WORK. I ONLY HAD A MINOR BURN MARK PROBABLY FROM THE AIRBAG, A BRUISE ON ONE HAND AND A BRUISE ON MY RIGHT KNEE WHICH PROBABLY CAME FROM THE COVER OF THE LOWER AIRBAG UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THESE. MY WIFE, THE PASSENGER, HAS BAD BRUISES, SOME WITH SCRAPS, ACROSS HER BODY FROM HER LEFT WAIST TO HER RIGHT SHOULDER. HER RIGHT HAND IS BADLY BRUISED AND APPEARS ONE OR MORE FINGERS WERE BENT BACKWARDS FROM BEING JAMMED INTO THE DASHBOARD. SHE ALSO HAS BRUISES ON HER UPPER THIGHS. IT APPEARS THE SEATBELT FAILED TO WORK AND THE AIRBAG STOPPED HER OR THE SEATBELT FAILED TO LOCK ON IMPACT THEN SUDDENLY LOCKED. THIS ASSUMPTION COMING BECAUSE OF THE TYPE INJURIES. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO SOMEONE'S ATTENTION. I CHECKED THE WEBSITE FOR DODGE/CHRYSLER BUT COULD NOT FIND A LINK TO NOTIFY THEM. MY 9 YEAR OLD SON REACH BACK INTO MY 2006 DODGE CARAVAN SXT AND WAS HIT BY THE DOOR. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC DOOR THAT IS SUPPOSED TO STOP AND RETRACT WHEN THERE IS ANY OBSTRUCTION IN IT'S PATH. IT DID NOT STOP. IT PINNED HIM AGAINST THE SIDE RAIL AND HE RECEIVED BRUISES ON HIS ARM. *TR
VEHICLE POWER STEERING MAKES LOUD RESONATING HUM WHEN TURNING. DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND THE LOCATION OF THE NOISE. RACK & PINION AND POWER STEERING PUMP HAVE BOTH BEEN REPLACED, AND THE NOISE STILL PERSISTS.*AK
HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN HAVE BEEN INTERMITTENT ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS. WHEN YOU TURN THE SWITCH ON, HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE. NO INJURIES, NO ACCIDENTS, BUT COULD CAUSE A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT BY NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE, OR TO BE SEEN. ONCE THE PROBLEM WAS RECOGNIZED, IN EACH INSTANCE, BY PLAYING WITH THE SWITCH, THE LIGHTS EVENTUALLY WOULD COME ON. FIRST INSTANCE WAS PROBABLY IN 2007, LATEST IN 2009 ON A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. *TR
OCCASIONALLY, MAYBE FIVE OR SIX TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR, I WOULD TURN THE HEADLIGHTS ON IN MY 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AND THEY WOULD NOT TURN ON. I COULD TURN THEM OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND THEY WOULD STAY ON. LAST NIGHT, THEY TURNED ON THE FIRST TIME I TRIED. I HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR WHEN THEY WENT OUT ON ME. I TURNED THE ON/OFF SWITCH A FEW TIMES AND THEY CAME BACK ON. AFTER 3-4 MINUTES THEY WENT OFF AGAIN, SO AGAIN I TURNED THE SWITCH OFF AND ON AND THEY CAME BACK ON. THEY WENT OUT AGAIN AND I FOUND THEY WOULD STAY ON IF I HELD THE HIGH BEAM LEVER DOWN. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES I RELEASED THE HIGH BEAM LEVER AND THE HEADLIGHTS STAYED ON FOR THE NEXT 20 MINUTES UNTIL I GOT HOME. I WILL NOT BE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AGAIN AT NIGHT UNTIL I CAN GET IT FIXED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT 99% OF THE TIME, THE LIGHTS OPERATE CORRECTLY. *TR
I OWN AND DRIVE A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. ON MAY 19, 2007, I DROVE TO MY USUAL PARKING SPOT AND PUT THE VAN IN 'PARK'. I EXITED THE CAR AND LOOKED TO THE REAR OF THE VAN TO SEE HOW CLOSE I WAS TO THE SIDEWALK. I REACHED INTO THE CAR TO PULL OUT MY KEY, ACCIDENTALLY TURNING IT TO 'ACCESSORY' FOR A BRIEF SECOND BEFORE TURNING IT TO THE 'OFF' POSITION AND REMOVING THE KEY. WHILE STANDING NEXT TO THE CAR, WITH THE DRIVER'S DOOR STILL OPEN, THE VAN BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS! I WAS IN SHOCK FOR A BIT BEFORE I REALIZED WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS PUSHING ME FROM BEHIND, AND I HAD TO WALK FORWARD TO KEEP THE DOOR FROM KNOCKING ME DOWN. I TRIED TO REACH THE BRAKE WITH MY LEFT HAND OR JUMP INTO THE VEHICLE SO I COULD BRAKE. BEING PUSHED BY THE DOOR PREVENTED THIS. THE REAR WHEELS ROLLED OVER THE CURB FOLLOWED BY THE FRONT TIRES. I DESPERATELY TRIED TO PREVENT THE VAN FROM ROLLING INTO THE STREET BY GRABBING THE STEERING WHEEL AND TURNING IT A LITTLE. THE SLIGHT UPSLOPE OF THE ROAD SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN ENOUGH FOR ME TO JUMP IN. I PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION, STARTED THE VEHICLE AS QUICKLY AS I COULD AND PUT IT IN DRIVE. I MOVED FORWARD SLIGHTLY, HITTING THE CURB, PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND DROVE BACK A BIT TO CLEAR THE CURB, PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE AND DROVE BACK UP ONTO THE PARKING AREA. I IMMEDIATELY FELT PAIN IN BOTH KNEES, BACK, BOTH HIPS, RIGHT LEG AND RIGHT ANKLE, LEFT UPPER AREA UNDER MY ARM AND INTO THE RIBCAGE. LATER I ALSO BEGAN HAVING STIFFNESS IN MY NECK, AND EXPERIENCED OCCASIONAL NUMBNESS IN BOTH ARMS, DEPENDING ON THE POSITION I HAD THEM IN. I TRIED TO CONTACT DAIMLER CHRYSLER ONLINE SINCE IT WAS A SATURDAY. EVEN AFTER CHOOSING THE LINK "CONTACT US" I WAS NEVER GIVEN A PHONE NUMBER OR E-MAIL ADDRESS! ON MONDAY, MAY 21, 2007, I CONTACTED THE DODGE DEALER FROM WHOM I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ONE YEAR AGO. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VAN CHECKED OVER AND REPAIRED THIS FRIDAY, MAY 25, 2007.
REAR PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT WORK THE LOCK WILL ONLY WORK MANUALLY. THIS IS A BAD THING AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN WHO CAN NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR. IT IS A SAFETY RISK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR IT FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS MAKING CONTACT WITH SOMETHING HARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE, AND STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. ALSO, THE DEALER REPLACED THE SPEEDING SENSOR TO MAKE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT NORMALLY. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED, INCLUDING PAYING THE REPAIR COST FOR A FAILURE THAT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE VEHICLE WAS MODIFIED WITH HAND CONTROLLED BRAKES. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN DEPRESSED. THE DRIVER SWERVED TO AVOID A CRASH, BUT ENDED UP CRASHING INTO A CEMENT BARRIER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED AWAY. THE VEHICLE MODIFICATION COMPANY EXAMINED THE BLACK BOX AND CONCLUDED THAT THE BRAKES DID ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH AIR BAGS. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 4,500.
LOUD WHINING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE WHEN COLD. HAD POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED ON 1ST VISIT. ONE MONTH LATER SAME PROBLEM, HAD ALTERNATOR REPLACED. 3 WEEKS LATER SAME THING. TECH SAID THERE WAS AN AIR BUBBLE IN THE POWER STEERING LINE. THE LINE WAS DRAINED AND FLUID WAS REPLACED. BETTER NOT HAPPEN AGAIN! *JB
WHEN THE GAS TANK IS FILLING UP, THE GAS NOZZLE CONTINUES TO SHOOT GAS OUT OF THE TANK. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME WE HAVE FILLED OUR TANK UP REGARDLESS OF WHAT STATION WE WERE USING. LOCAL DODGE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT RELATED TO THE VEHICLES FUEL SYSTEM OR DESIGN. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE BUILDS UP A HIGH STATIC CHARGE DUE TO THE FABRIC SEATS ETC. CAN BE QUITE A SHOCK WHICH IS NOT GOOD TO MIX WITH THIS GASOLINE PROBLEM. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 5 -20 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER, PISTON, AND ROTOR. THE FAILURE CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REGULAR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND THEY STATED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE WEARING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,500.
FOR NO APPARENT REASON, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE CLOCK REMAINS ON, BUT ACCESSORIES SUCH AS THE HEATER ALSO SHUT OFF, AND I HAVE NO POWER ASSIST WITH STEERING. SO FAR, IT'S HAPPENED WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF START-UP; THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES WERE BELOW FREEZING, BUT THE ENGINE HAS NOT ALWAYS BEEN COLD. 1/17/07 APPROX. 5 MIN. AFTER I'D BEEN DRIVING, AT ABOUT 30MPH, I REALIZED THE NOISY FAN FOR THE HEATER TURNED OFF. I THOUGHT MAYBE THE NEW VAN HAS A FEATURE I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT, WHERE IT REACHES A SET TEMPERATURE THEN SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALLY? THEN I REALIZED THE RADIO HAD ALSO GONE QUIET. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE BUT IT WASN'T RESPONDING, SO I WENT TO PULL OFF ON THE SHOULDER AND DISCOVERED I DIDN'T HAVE POWER STEERING, EITHER. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE. I TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION, RESTARTED THE VAN, AND IT SEEMED TO WORK FINE. AT NO TIME DID I SEE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. 1/18/07 I HAD DRIVEN TO A GAS STATION, TURNED THE VAN OFF TO FILL THE TANK, AND RESTARTED IT A FEW MINUTES LATER, TO DRIVE AWAY. I ACCELERATED ABOUT 5 FEET BEFORE THE VAN TURNED ITSELF OFF AGAIN. I STOPPED, MOVED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION, RESTARTED IT, AND WENT ON MY WAY. 1/24/07 I BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE, BUT AFTER I ACCELERATED IN REVERSE, ABOUT 10 FT. DOWN THE DRIVEWAY THE VAN TURNED ITSELF OFF AGAIN. OTHER DAYS I HAD THE HEATER/ACCESSORIES RUNNING, BUT THIS TIME NOTHING ELSE WAS TURNED ON. THE CLOCK REMAINED LIT, SO IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A BATTERY ISSUE. I TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND RESTARTED THE VAN, RESUMED MY DRIVE, AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DODGE DEALERSHIP UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO COMPUTER CODES SHOWING; THEY DROVE 17 MI. BUT COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SINCE THEN, THE VAN HAS ONLY SHUT OFF BY ITSELF ONCE MORE WHEN MY SPOUSE WAS DRIVING, BUT NOW IT SEEMS LIKE A PROBABLE IGNITION SWITCH SAFETY ISSUE TO INVESTIGATE. *TR
BRAKES CONSTANTLY SQUEAK AND ROTORS HAVE UNEVEN WEAR. TOLD BY DEALER WHEN I TOOK IT IN THAT BRAKES WERE FINE AND STILL HAD A LONG LIFE THIS WAS AT 12,600MILES. AT 20,000 MILES PROBLEM WORST AND NOW MORE THAN ONE YEAR WITH VEHICLE TOLD IT NEED NEW PADS AND A LEFT(PASSENGER) CALIPER. TOTAL COST $396 PLUS TAX. THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY, HAD EXPIRED. I REPLACE THE CALIPER ON MY OWN AND NEW PADS. NOW AT 36,000 MILES SAME PROBLEM ON DRIVERS FRONT SIDE NEEDS NEW PADS AND STUCK RIGHT CALIPER. I BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM UP TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A BAD DRIVING HABIT CAUSING THIS. BOTH TIMES TOLD FIX IT ON MY OWN OR PAY US(DEALER) TO FIX IT. I THINK THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE VEHICLES BRAKING SYSTEM, YET THE DEALER WILL NOT GIVE ME A WRITTEN ESTIMATE UNLESS I HAVE THEM DO THE WORK. SOMETHING SMELLS!!!!! *TR
MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS RESULTING IN MANY SENSOR AND PART REPLACEMENTS. FIRST SURGE IN MILEAGE GAUAGE RESULTED IN REPLACEMENT OF FRIED RADIO. SECOND SURGE RESULTED IN AIR BAG SENSOR REPLACEMENT. THIRD SURGE RESULTED IN NO PROBLEM FOUND. FOURTH SURGE RESULTED IN ABS SENSOR NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE FIFTH SURGE RESULTED IN DRIVER SEAT CONTROL MOTOR GOING BAD, BUT BEING REPAIRABLE. THE SIXTH SUGRE RESULTED IN DRIVERS SEAT MOTOR HAVING TO BE REPLACED DUE TO COMPLETE BURN OUT. SINCE THE FIRST SURGE I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS WITH EITHER THE CONSOLE OR THE BUTTONS BESIDE THE DOORS MOST OFTEN. AFTER ONE OF THESE SURGES, ONLY THE KEY REMOTE WILL OPEN THE SLIDING DOORS. *AK
12-13-06 FRONT CAR COLLUSION WITH NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. APPROXIMATE SPEED OF VEHICLE LESS THAN 40 MPH. APPROXIMATELY 24 INCH INTRUSION INTO MIDDLE OF THE FRONT OF THE CAR BY PASSENGER SIDE FENDER AREA OF CAR THAT CAUSED COLLUSION. DAMAGE TO CAR WILL REQUIRE COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING AIR BAG SENSORS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER BECAME INOPERATIVE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE POWER STEERING RACK ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A LOUD GRINDING NOISE THAT WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. IN ADDITION, THE RADIATOR FANS WOULD OVERHEAT AND WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,300 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
NOISE SIMILAR TO "BOTTOMING OUT" CAN BE HEARD COMING FROM DRIVERS SIDE REAR OF VEHICLE WHEN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT IS FULLY OCCUPIED. ANY DIP IN THE ROAD EXACERBATES THE NOISE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE WHILE PULLING THE LIFT GATE DOWN MANUALLY, THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND PUSHED THE BUTTON THAT AUTOMATICALLY BRINGS THE LIFT GATE DOWN UNAWARE THAT HIS WIFE WAS PULLING THE LIFT GATE DOWN MANUALLY. THE LIFT GATE JERKED UP HITTING THE CONTACT IN THE FACE CAUSING THE CONTACT'S FOUR BOTTOM TEETH TO GO THROUGH THE BOTTOM LIP. THE CONTACT WENT TO THE HOSPITAL RESULTING IN THREE STITCHES TO THE BOTTOM LIP. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN ALERTED.
DURING A RECENT ACCIDENT IN MY 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE KNEE AIRBAG CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL BRUISING AND ABRASIONS TO MY SHINS, AND I EXPECT TO BE PERMANENTLY SCARRED AS A RESULT. WERE IT NOT FOR THE KNEE AIRBAG, I WOULD HAVE WALKED AWAY FROM THE ACCIDENT WITHOUT A SCRATCH. *JB

I WEEK AGO, MY 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN STARTED TO MAKE AN INTERMITTENT BRAKE NOISE; THE BRAKES SEEMED TO WORK FINE. THE CAR HAS 44279 MILES. I CHECKED THE FRONT BRAKES AND DETERMINED THAT THE ORIGINAL BRAKES AND ROTORS SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND QUOTED $390.90 PLUS TAX FOR THE REPAIR. THIS WAS 27 FEB 2009, THE IS . I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP MAY 2007. MY COMPLAINT IS THE MASTER CYLINDER SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THIS EARLY IN THE CARS LIFE. POPPING NOISE IN STEERING COLUMN. WHILE TRAVELING AT LEAST 50 MILES A LOUD WINDING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN, -POSSIBLY TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO STEER. ALL FLUIDS HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND VEHICLE WAS SERVICED REGULARLY.*AK
AT 3851 MILES ON MY 2006 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, THE MOTOR ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING, IN THE MIDDLE OF A TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR, WHICH WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. I WAS ABLE TO, VERY SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY, DRIVE THE CAR BACK HOME. *JB
ON JANUARY 12, 2006 MY VAN STARTING MAKING A CLUNKING SOUND FROM THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE AND THEN WOULD SUDDENLY JERK AND PULL THE VAN TO THE RIGHT. I SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR THE NEXT DAY. WHILE IN ROUTE TO THE DEALERSHIP THE VAN CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP AS WELL AS WHILE TRYING TO STOP THE VAN THERE WAS NO CONTROL IN THE STEERING. THE VAN SLID UNTIL STOPPING. FORTUNATELY I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15 MPH AS I HAD JUST STARTED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. THE OUTCOME WAS THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE CONTROL ARM IN PLACE BROKE IN HALF. THERE WAS RUST IN THE CENTER ON THE BROKEN BOLT. THE VAN WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NEW PARTS WERE ORDERED. IT TOOK ABOUT ONE WEEK TO REPAIR. DODGE WAS NOTIFIED BUT HAS FAILED TO CALL ME BACK IN REGARDS TO THE LETTER I SENT THEM. *NM
