THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE AND AN INDEPENDENT DRIVER SIDE MODULE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. WHILE SITTING IDLE, VEHICLE DISPLAYED ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON INSTRUMENT PANEL, WIPERS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES, HEADLIGHTS ALSO CAME ON BY THEMSELVES. FUEL GAUGE REGISTERED EMPTY EVEN THOUGH TANK WAS FULL, AND MPH DID NOT REGISTER WHILE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. SIGNAL LIGHTS DID NOT WORK WHEN TRYING TO MAKE A TURN.
TAKATA RECALL ON TUE, DEC 8, I TOOK MY VAN IN TO CORRECT THE RECALL REGARDING THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE. BILLION OF SIOUX FALLS SD WOULD NOT FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO REMOVE MY REMOTE START. THEY STATED THEY COULD/WOULD NOT REINSTALL IT OR REPLACE IT AT THEIR EXPENSE. THE RECALL ON MY VAN WAS NOT COMPLETED.

REAR DOORS OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, REAR SLIDING DOORS WILL START TO CLOSE WHILE GETTING IN TO VEHICLE. HAVE CAME OUT AND FOUND DOORS OPEN. BATTERY DEAD OFTEN HAVE REPLACED BATTERY ONLY TO HAVE IT DRAINED AGAIN. DOOR ISSUE IS VERY FRIGHTENING TO SAY THE LEAST!!!! SEEM TO HAVE STARTED AFTER REPLACING FOBIC PER RECALL
HAD MY 2009 DODGE CARAVAN'S RECALLS REPAIRED FINALLY WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE IN JULY 2015. HAD THE VAN TUNED UP AND DROVE TO FLORIDA WITH THE FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY THAT THE VAN WOULD NOT STALL WHILE DRIVING. MY WHOLE FAMILY MADE IT TO FLORIDA, BUT THEN THE VAN STALLED 3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AGAIN! WE WERE SO AFRAID WE WOULD BE STUCK. I DID NOT DO IT ANY MORE WHILE ON VACATION AND THEN DID DRIVE HOME SAFELY. WE HAD OUR CHILDREN IN THE VAN AND WAS VERY AFRAID THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER AND THE VAN CONTINUES TO LOSE COMPLETE POWER WHILE DRIVING AT LEAST 2 TIMES A WEEK. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS IN THE CITY. MY CHILDREN ARE AFRAID TO RIDE IN THE VAN. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER/DODGE WHO STATED SINCE I HAD THE RECALLS REPAIRED IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VAN. THIS IS CRAZY, DODGE KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT HAVE BEEN AND THEIR REPAIRS DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.THIS VAN WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND HAD HAD STARTING AND STALLING PROBLEMS FOR A VERY LONG TIME. HOW CAN I GET THIS RESOLVED WITHOUT OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, KNOWING THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM BY DODGE. THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. WE ARE NOT RICH AND CANNOT JUST GO BUY ANOTHER VAN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MY FAMILY.
FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE I HAVE COMPLAINED TO CHRYSLER MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. IT SEEMS TO SLIP WITHIN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES OF THE CARAVAN BEING STARTED. IT SEEMS TO DO IT WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECENTLY STARTED, WHEN IT IS SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST TO 2ND GEARS OR 2ND TO 3RD GEARS (NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT GEAR IT'S IN WHEN IT'S MAKING THE SHIFT) AND IT USUALLY ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MAKING A TURN AT A LOWER SPEED. THE SERVICE REP. AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID A LOT OF VEHICLES HAVE THIS TRANSMISSION AND THEY ALL SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. HE EVEN TOLD ME HIS WIFE DROVE A DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AND THAT TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AS WELL. HE ALSO STATED THAT IT WOULD BE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR FOR CHRYSLER TO FIX AND HE STATED THAT IF IT'S NOT ACTUALLY BROKEN, THEN THEY WON'T FIX IT. RECENTLY I WAS TOLD THAT MY LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE THE TRANSMISSION INSPECTED WITHIN A 90 DAY PERIOD FROM IT'S 5 YEAR DATE OF PURCHASE. I WAS NEVER TOLD THAT I HAD TO HAVE IT INSPECTED, THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT AT CHRYSLER SAID IT WAS IN MY HANDBOOK...SO I LOOKED IT UP AND IT WAS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY AND THAT'S IT. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE MULTIPLE TIMES I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO BE INSPECTED...THOSE INSPECTIONS DID NOT COUNT AS A QUALIFIED INSPECTION FOR THE WARRANTY!!! THAT DOES NOT MAKE MUCH SENSE TO ME!

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A NEW TIRE AND TIRE VALVE WERE PLACED ON THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TPMS WHEEL VALVE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. DRIVING ON THE HWY 485 TOWARD AIRPORT WHEN I HEARD A SUDDEN SOUND IN MY DASHBOARD. IT WAS A ETC (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT) AND THE ESC (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT) THAT CAME OUT AND, MY TEMPERATURE CONTROL GAUGE NEEDLE DROPPED FROM MI-RANGE TO ZERO. I SLOW DOWN THE CAR PULLED IT ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY SO I CAN CHECK TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND THE NEXT THING I KNOW WAS A HEAVY SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE HOOD AND THAT WAS IT.

I WAS DRIVING OUR VAN ON VACATION IN OUT OF STATE ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 70 MPH. MY LOW TIRE SENSOR CAME ON, ALONG WITH THE YELLOW EXCLAMATION POINT LIGHT IN THE DASH. I WAS CLOSE TO MY EXIT, PULLED OFF AND INTO A GAS STATION WHERE THERE WAS AN AIR PUMP, LOOKING TO ASSES THE SITUATION. WHEN I TRIED TO PUT AIR INTO THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE, WHICH WAS NOW REALLY LOOKING FLAT, I PUSHED THE AIR NOZZLE AGAINST THE VALVE STEM WHICH PUSHED RIGHT INSIDE THE RIM. I HAD TO CALL MY INSURANCE TO HAVE A WRECKER COME, THEY PUT MY DOUGHNUT TIRE ON. I WENT AND HAD A TIRE PLACE PUT IN A REGULAR VALVE STEM. THE ORIGINAL VALVE STEM IS STUCK TO THE INSIDE OF THE RIM, AND APPARENTLY HAD COME LOSE BECAUSE WHATEVER HAD HELD IT THERE FAILED. WHEN I GOT HOME, I HAD THE VALVE STEM REPLACED WITH A NEW VALVE STEM WITH A PRESSURE SENSOR.
