THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DRIVER'S SIDE VENT WINDOW SWITCH WAS DISABLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
AROUND 37,000 MILES, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASED, LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND ON PERIODICALLY. AFTER A SEVERAL WEEKS LIGHT STAYED ON AND STARTED BLINKING, AT THIS TIME VAN WAS VIBRATING AND SOUNDED LIKE IT WOULD CUT OFF. DEALERSHIP ENDED UP REPLACING ENGINE HEAD UNDER WARRANTY. A FEW MONTHS LATER LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, VAN DID NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE, DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH VAN. AT TIMES VAN DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE AS IT SHOULD. AFTER A DELAY, IT WILL ACCELERATE, BUT NOT LIKE IT SHOULD. AROUND 60,000 MILES, ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHT HAVE COME ON AND CRUISE CONTROL WILL NO LONGER WORK. BACK HATCH DOOR OF VAN LOCKED WHILE OPEN AND WOULD NOT SHUT. THE DOOR HAD TO BE TIED DOWN FROM THE INSIDE IN ORDER TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAYS HINGES HAVE BEEN BENT. HINGES HAVE NO MARKS OF ANY KIND, AND THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THERE'S A WHOLE LOT GOING WRONG FOR A 2012 VEHICLE. *TR
THE BRAKES CALIPERS/BRAKES ARE SEIZING UP, AFTER COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF ALL BRAKE COMPONENTS, THIS PROBLEM RECURRED IN LESS THAN 5000 MILES, AT THE SAME TIME, THE AXLE BOLTS WERE LOOSE AND THE CAR BECAME VERY UNSTABLE. *TR
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN SEPT 2013, IMMEDIATELY THE SECOND ROW, PASSENGER-SIDE SEATBEALT DOES NOT PROPEL BACK. THE SELLER OF THE VEHICLE, DIRECTED ME TO A MECHANIC TO REPAIR IT BUT SHORTLY AFTER IT OCCURED AGAIN. LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE, THE FUSE/MOTOR ON THE DRIVER'S SEAT JUST STOPPED AND THE SEAT IS UNABLE TO BE ADJUSTED. LAST WEEK, WENT FOR REPAIRS TO FRONT WHEEL BEARING (TIRE POPPED DIRECTLY OFF) AND WAS ADVISED THE REAR WHEEL BEARING WILL ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED. CANNOT TELL IF ANY OF THESE ARE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OR MALFUNCTIONS WITH THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS.
PREMATURE BRAKE PAD WEAR, BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS. ROTORS WARPING PREMATURELY. THESE ISSUES REQUIRE YEARLY REPLACEMENT AT SIGNIFICANT COST. I HAD TO PURCHASE HIGH END, VENTED ROTORS AND CERAMIC PADS, AT SIGNIFICANT COST, TO PREVENT THE OEM PART FAILURES.

THE VEHICLE ALSO BEGAN TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED NOR WAS THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,100.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CALIPERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
DOCUMENTED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE 2013, THIS VAN HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FOLLOWING: SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT READ, GAUGES DO NOT READ, WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON, ALL WARNING LIGHTS READ, HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK, A/C DOES NOT WORK; THEN ALL TURN OFF RANDOMLY AND INTERMITTENTLY TURN BACK ON AND OFF AGAIN. IN MAY 2014, THE VAN HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES WHERE IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF LOW GEAR AND DRIVER HAD TO TWICE SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND BACK INTO DRIVE TO SHIFT PROPERLY. 6 REPAIR ATTEMPTS WERE MADE ON THE VAN BEGINNING IN MAY 2013 AND ENDING IN JULY 2013 WITH NO SUCCESS ON REPAIRS. THE VAN WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO REPAIR WAS FREE OF CHARGE. REPLACEMENT OF THE TIPM WAS TWICE ATTEMPTED BUT FAILED BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY 2012 TIPMS. THIS VAN IS USED BY RSVP, A FEDERALLY FUNDED NATIONWIDE NON-PROFIT, TO TRANSPORT SENIOR VOLUNTEERS TO THEIR WORK SITES. THIS VAN HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PUT PEOPLE INTO A DANGEROUS CRASH AND NEEDS CHRYSLER TO REPAIR THE TIPMS IMMEDIATELY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THREE TIMES WHERE THE COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM WAS UPDATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V487000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN OPEN THROTTLE POSITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND SHE HAD TO UTILIZE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING ANY FARTHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,900.
MY 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS IT'S NO GOOD. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS BUT, I DON'T WANT TO KEEP ON PAYING A CAR NOTE FOR A CAR THAT IS GOING TO GIVE OUT AND ANY GIVING TIME. IT'S NOT GOING TO LAST LONG. I WANT A NEW CAR FREE OF CHARGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO KH25 TIRES, SIZE 235/60R/16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER FRONT AND REAR TIRES FLATTENED WITHIN A WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE TIRES AND STATED THAT AIR WAS ESCAPING FROM THE SEAMS ON THE SIDES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE DEALER RETURN THE TIRES IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A CREDIT. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000. THE DOT WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVING IN A SMALL TOWN, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS. I AM A MEDICAL COURIER AND WE HAVE 4, MAYBE 5, GRAND CARAVANS OPERATING OUT OF OUR FACILITY. TWO HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE HEADS REPLACED, BOTH WITH THE PENTASTAR V-6. I HAVE THIS ENGINE IN MINE AS WELL . I WAS TOLD BY THE DRIVERS OF THOSE TO WATCH FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON, AND LAST NIGHT IT DID. SO NOW, IT SEEMS I MAY BE NUMBER THREE. I WOULD CONSIDER MY DRIVING HABITS IN THE DODGE "EASY", PROBABLY 90% OF THE TIME I AM DRIVING RURAL TWO LANE HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATE. THE WORKDAY IS ABOUT 380 MILES DRIVEN. I DRIVE VERY LITTLE STOP AND GO. I CAN GET 90K MILES OUT OF ORIGINAL BRAKES AND TIRES. I DO USE A VARIETY OF BRANDS OF GAS, BUT I WOULD CONSIDER THEM ALL "BRAND NAME". WE SERVICE OUR VEHICLES AT PROPER INTERVALS, ALL CARAVANS ARE ORDERED TO THE SAME SPEC, BUT THIS CAN DIFFER SLIGHTLY WITH MODEL YEAR. WHILE SEARCHING THE NET, I'VE READ WHERE CHRYSLER IS QUIETLY REPLACING HEADS WITH PROBLEMS. ONE OF MY FELLOW COURIERS RECENTLY HAD THE HEAD WORK DONE AT 80K+ ON HIS DODGE. YOU CAN SEE I AM NOW AT A SIMILAR MILEAGE. OUR FLEET MAN TOLD ME THERE WAS NO INVOICE AND THE ENGINE WAS FIXED FOR FREE AT A CHRYSLER DEALER. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN- A CYLINDER HEAD SHOULD NOT NEED REPLACEMENT AT 80K+ ON A PROPERLY MAINTAINED VEHICLE. I AM SUBMITTING THIS BECAUSE CHRYSLER IS STATING THIS IS SOME SORT OF RARE (LESS THAN 1%) OCCURRENCE DUE TO AN ODD COMBINATION OF FACTORS, INCLUDING BAD FUEL. I BEG TO DIFFER AS WE HAVE HAD 2 PENTASTAR CARAVANS FIXED AT WORK, AND IT'S LIKELY MINE WILL BE NUMBER 3. THIS IS QUITE REMARKABLE, AND CAN'T BE DISCOUNTED AS SOME SORT OF FLUKE. IT'S NOT COINCIDENCE, IN MY VIEW. IT'S A FLAWED HEAD DESIGN, OR POOR MANUFACTURING. THERE SHOULD BE CORRECTION BEYOND THE FACTORY WARRANTY. *TR
SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE BRAKES STARTED MAKING SQUEAKING NOISE, BRAKES GOT CLEANED AT A LOCAL SHOP; AND STARTED MAKING NOISE AGAIN IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS, TOOK TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AT ABOUT APX. 8,000, DON'T REMEMBER EXACT DATE; THEY DID A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB NEW PADS ROTORS AND ALIGNMENT, AT 6 MONTHS BREAKS STARTED SQUEAKING AGAIN. HAD BRAKES CLEANED AT A MECHANIC SHOP, NOISE STOPPED. THEN AGAIN AT 23,340 MILES, IN AT THE SHOP AGAIN, THEY TELL ME BRAKE PADS ARE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND ARE NOT COVERED; BUT NOW THE FRONT AXLES ARE MAKING NOISES WHEN THE WHEEL TURNS AND REGULAR DRIVING WITHOUT BREAKING, LIKE A CLICK, CLICK, CLICK SOUND AS THE FRONT WHEELS TURN. WHEN APPLYING BRAKES THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO SHAKE A BIT AND MAKES SQUEAKING NOISES WHEN BRAKING. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND DO NOT TOW ANYTHING WITH IT, JUST NORMAL DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK; BUT THE BRAKES ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A CONSTANT ISSUE EVERY 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR. IT WILL BE REQUIRING ANOTHER BRAKE CHANGE AND PROBABLE AXLE REPAIR; AM WAITING FOR RESOLUTION UNDER FILE NO. 25141204 WITH DODGE, AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK. BUT IT SEEMS TO BE A BRAKES DEFECT IN THE 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN VAN. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT'S BECAUSE THEY ARE MOPAD PADS, AND THAT THEY ONLY LAST ABOUT 12,000 MILES AND WEAR OUT ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, BUT THE BRAKES PROBLEM IS A RECURRING THING; THEY SEEM TO START MAKING NOISE AT ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER EACH FIX AND BRAKE PADS BEING WORN OUT WITHIN A YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND BUT THEY PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
EACH TIME I HAVE HAD THE CAR SERVICED (ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS), I ASK THAT THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM BE FIXED, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AND WORSENS. ABOUT 25% OF THE TIME, THE DOORS ALL LOCK WHILE THE ENGINE IS OFF, SOMETIMES AS I'M GETTING OUT OF THE CAR AND WHILE THE DRIVER-SIDE DOOR IS STILL OPEN. I'M NOW PARANOID ABOUT FORGETTING TO HAVE MY KEYS IN HAND WHEN I LEAVE THE CAR. IT COULD BE DANGEROUS.

THE VEHICLE WILL SHUTDOWN RANDOMLY WITH NO INDICATION AS TO WHY AND/OR WILL NOT START RANDOMLY DUE TO ANTITHEFT BEING ACTIVATED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ACTIVATED UPON VEHICLE SHUTDOWN OR FAILURE TO START. WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING THE TACHOMETER WILL REAP ABOUT 900 RPM AND THE ONLY INDICATOR ON THE DASH IS A YELLOW TRACTION CONTROL ILLUMINATION ON THE DASH. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATION, OR LOW BATTERY INDICATION. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME FROM A FEW MINUTES TO SEVERAL HOURS THE VEHICLE WILL RESTART AND RUN NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE MAY RUN NORMALLY FOR A FEW SECONDS TO MONTHS AT A TIME UNTIL THE PROBLEM REAPPEARS. THE PROBLEM CAN OCCUR ANYTIME WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE INCLUDING DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, INTERSECTIONS, PARKING LOTS, AND EXPRESSWAYS. WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPS RUNNING, THE STEERING AND BRAKING BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. *TR

IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY SINCE THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT DEALER SAYS IT GETS BETTER AFTER 2 OR 3 THOUSAND MILES OR FIRST OIL CHANGE BUT IT HAS NOT NOW IT HAS THE WHISTLE THING GOING ON BOUGHT THE VAN MAY 22 2012 PAID ALMOST $30,000. FOR IT EXPECT FOR THIS KIND OF MONEY IT WOULD RIDE SMOOTHER LIKE THE DEMOS I TEST DROVE I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN IT . A FRIEND ASKED ABOUT BUYING A NEW ONE LIKE MINE (SHE HAS HANDICAP CHILD) I TOLD HER TO BUY KIA INSTEAD IT WOULD RIDE BETTER . THEY SAY THEY WERE UNABLE DUPLICATE PROBLEM OF LOSING POWER - IT SEEMS THEY DID NOT DO TEST DRIVE AT ALL OBVIOUSLY FROM MILEAGE RECORD! I TOOK IT AGAIN WITH SAME COMPLAINT ON 11/12/2014 AND THEY SAY EVERYTHING LOOKS OKAY IT IS JUST ROAD CROWNING ON THE RIGHT LANE CAUSES IT. AGAIN THEY COULD NOT FIND OR DUPLICATE LOSS OF POWER AND SHIFTING. I AM TERRIBLY AFRAID OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS EVEN THOUGH MILEAGE IS LESS THAN 9000 MILES IN 3 YEARS. GAP BETWEEN DOORS LARGER THAN THEY SHOULD BE. THE DEALER WOULD NOT EXCHANGE THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST THE RT AND LT FRONT DRIVER AND SIDE DOORS. DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS MISALIGNED TO THE POINT THAT THE GAPS OUTWARD MADE THE DOOR APPEAR AJAR, WATER ENTERS EXCESSIVELY AROUND FRAME, HOWEVER DOES NOT ENTER INSIDE THE VAN. THE FIRST ATTEMPT ON 7/5/2012 BY THE DEALER WAS TO ADJUST THE STRIKE PLATE WHICH CAUSED THE BOTTOM OF THE DOORS TO BE EXCESSIVELY INWARD. I HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED TO HAVE ALL 4 DOORS REALIGNED NEXT WEEK. WHAT IS MY RECOURSE IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED PROPERLY ? PURCHASE DATE 6/15/2012 CURRENTLY HAS 935 MILES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT A LOUD NOISED WHEN THE GEAR WAS IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER, TRANSMISSION AND THE REVERSE GEAR FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,083 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

THERE IS A LOUD "THUD" WHEN IT IS PUT INTO ANY GEAR, AND YOU CAN EVEN FEEL IT. ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION BOGS DOWN A LOT AND DOESN'T LIKE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING, IT'S VERY SLUGGISH. IT'S BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE WE FIRST TRIED IT OUT. WE EVEN HAD IT REPROGRAMMED BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME SORT OF SERVICE BULLETIN, AND THAT DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE 08/18/12 WITH APPROXIMATELY 17,000 MILES. I WAS TOLD THE BRAKES HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES, I WAS TOLD THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. NOW, AT 60,000 MILES, I'M BEING TOLD, ONCE AGAIN, THAT THE BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER OWNING MULTIPLE VEHICLES THROUGHOUT MY DRIVING EXPERIENCE (28 YEARS), I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH ANY VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED. EXTENSIVE ONLINE RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THE MAJORITY OF DODGE GRAND CARAVAN, CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY AND VOLKSWAGEN OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED AS WELL, AND I WOULD IMAGINE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST COMPLAINT YOU'VE SEEN REGARDING THIS ISSUE? I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I SHOULD ALSO ADD THAT THE BRAKE WORK DONE AT APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES WAS DONE BY A FAMILY FRIEND WITH OVER 25 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR INDUSTRY, DUE TO AN EXTREMELY HIGH ESTIMATE FROM THE SHOP I CURRENTLY USE. I NOTICED A FLUID LEAK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND BASED ON THE RED COLOR I ELIMINATED THE POSSIBILITY THAT IT WAS FROM THE POWER STEERING BECAUSE THE RESERVOIR WAS AT THE MAX LEVEL. I WAS LATER INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SIDE COVER WAS LEAKING. I SENT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE DYE WAS ADDED AND WAS INFORMED THAT FLUID WAS LEAKING IN THE AREA OF THE BELL HOUSING AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD REQUIRE DISASSEMBLY TO ASCERTAIN WHAT THE CAUSE IS. *KB ....UPDATED 04/09/12 *BF.
I HAVE A TRANSMISSION MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE AFFORDED THE SAME CONSUMER PROTECTION AS THE 2012 GRAND CARAVANS WITH ENGINE SLUDGE. MY PUMP AND AXLE SEALS BEGAN LEAKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH. I DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL 20 MILES WERE ON THE ODOMETER. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO EXAMINE IT BEFORE I HAD TO RELEASE IT TO AMS VANS FOR WHEELCHAIR CONVERSION. IT WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH 36 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND IT WAS LEAKING DURING THE ADDITIONAL 16 MILES. UNLESS CHRYSLER IS WILLING TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION THAT THIS TRANSMISSION CANNOT BE DAMAGED BY RUNNING IT WITHOUT FLUID IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER THE 5 YEAR 50,000 MILE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. BUT CHRYSLER AND THE DEALERSHIP HAVE REFUSED TO DO SO, REPLACING ONLY THE FLUID AND SEALS AND LEAVING ME WITH A DAMAGED TRANSMISSION ON MY NEW VEHICLE. THIS LEAK WAS DOCUMENTED BY MORE THAN ONE TECHNICIAN NOT WORKING FOR CHRYSLER OR THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEREFORE, THE TRANSMISSION IS AS UNSAFE AS THE 2012 DODGE CARAVAN ENGINES THAT ARE BEING REPLACED UNDER RECALL FOR SLUDGE. The driver's seat active headrest spontaneously deployed while my wife was operating the van. Luckily this did not cause an accident, but being hit in the back of the head by the headrest certainly can cause an accident in the future. Inspection shows the internal plastic latch mechanism broken, thus the spontaneous, unintentional deployment of the active headrest.
