MY CARS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, HAD IT HOOKED UP TO A FIND OUT WHAT THE CODE WAS. CAME BACK THE TIPM WAS DEFECTED. SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR BACK IN 2010 I HAVE HAD RECURRING PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING AT WILL. SOMETIMES AFTER SITTING FOR AN UNDISCLOSED TIME IT WILL RESTART ONLY TO SHUT IT OFF AND HAVE IT HAPPEN AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE TIPM MAY VERY WELL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM. AFTER CONTACTING CHRYSLER THEY STATED THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE REAR HATCH DOOR WAS OPEN, SHE WENT TO RETRIEVE SOMETHING FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE HATCH DROPPED DOWN INDEPENDENTLY ONTO THE CONTACTS HEAD. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. CARRY IT TO THE DEALER DUE TO ANTI FREEZE LINK AND TIRE WONT KEEP AIR. THEY FIXED THE THERMOSTAT BOTH AND FIXED THE ANTIFREEZE PROBLEM AND DID A GREAT JOB I DON'T HAVE NO PROBLEM. POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKS, I HAVE LOOKED UP RECALLS AND FOUND ON SOME YEARS OF DODGE JOURNEYS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS DUE TO CRIMPED LINES THAT LEAK AND CAN CAUSE ENGINE FIRES DUE TO THE FLUID LEAKS, ALSO I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE THAT DID NOT GET SERVICED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR

THE VEHICLE THEN ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL COMING TO A STOP IN A WATER DRAIN DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND HER DAUGHTER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DRIVER'S RIGHT SIDE OF THE FACE WAS SEVERELY BRUISED AND NECK AND SPINE TRAUMA WAS SUSTAINED. THE CONTACT NEEDED AN MRI ON THE WRIST, ARM, NECK, AND LOWER LUMBAR AREA TO FURTHER DIAGNOSE THE EXTENT OF HER INJURIES. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER HAD A KNOT ON HER FOREHEAD AND WAS TREATED FOR A POSSIBLE CONCUSSION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED BY NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED WERE NOT AVAILABLE. 2009 DODGE JOURNEY HAS A RECALL ( L25) ON THE WIN MODULE DETENT RING , THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME BY A DEALERSHIP IN 2012 WITH NOTHING SHOWING ON THE CAR FAX OF THIS RECALL. THE RECALL CAUSE THE KEY TO SLIP FROM THE IGNITION AND COMPLETELY SHUTTING THE CAR DOWN WHILE MOVING. THE KEY INADVERTENTLY MOVES AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN , DEPOWERING THE AIR BAGS, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKING. WHEN INITIALLY CALLING IN THE COMPLAINT , CHRYSLER/ DODGE EXPLAINED THAT THERE IS NO FIX OR PART YET AVAILABLE. I FURTHER EXPLAINED AS A SINGLE MOTHER THIS WAS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD , BECAUSE IN MULTIPLE OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN ON A FREEWAY OR STREET AND ALMOST ROLLED INTO ANOTHER CAR , ROLLING DOWN BACKWARDS ON A FREEWAY RAMP UNABLE TO BRAKE OR TELEPHONE POLE. DODGE/CHRYSLER STATED I WOULD JUST HAVE TO WAIT OR TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR A TEMPORARY FIX.( THIS SAME TEMPORARY FIX IS NOTED IN THE DODGE DEALER SYSTEM NOT TO PUT IN THE NEWER YEAR PARTS INTO AN OLDER MODEL CAR ) AFTER CALLING AND GOING UP TO THEIR RECOMMENDED DEALERSHIPS FOR DODGE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATES THEY HAVE THEIR HANDS TIED BECAUSE THERE IS STILL NO PART AVAILABLE FOR THE YEAR OF MY CAR. THEY ALSO STATED I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET ALMOST 700 DOLLARS FOR A TEMP FIX USING A NEWER MODEL CAR THAT MAY OR MAY NOT FIX IT . I AM COMPLETELY TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR THAT I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PAY ON AND DODGE/CHRYSLER IS COMPLETELY BRUSHING OFF THE ISSUE. VEHICLE BATTERY DRAINED. REPLACED BATTERY AND WIPERS STAYED ON CONTINUOUSLY. MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH WAS INOPERATIVE WHICH CONTROLS THE TURN SIGNALS, HIGH AND LOW BEAM, AND FOG LIGHTS. FACTORY NAVIGATION WITH SURROUNDING AREA CAUGHT FIRE WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION WHILE CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF VEHICLE. *TR
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2009 DODGE JOURNEY, THE DRIVER SIDE MASTER POWER SWITCH STOPPED WORKING. THE ENTIRE POWER SWITCH IS NOT INOPERABLE. THE DRIVER SIDE MIRRORS, CAR LOCKS ARE CURRENTLY ARE NOT WORKING BUT THE BACK WINDOWS ARE WORKING. THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT VENT BLOWS COLD AIR WHILE THE DRIVER SIDE BLOWS HOT AIR. I CURRENTLY AM AWAITING SUPPLIES FOR A CURRENT RECALL SO BEGIN TO RESEARCH THESE TWO CONCERNS. I FIND THAT OVER 46, 500 PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE MASTER POWER SWITCH SUDDENLY BECOMING INOPERABLE WITH A PREVIOUS RECALL CORRECTING THIS ISSUE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO INQUIRE ABOUT GETTING THIS RECALL DONE WHILE PLACING MY CAR IN THE SHOP FOR THE CURRENT OUTSTANDING RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS MADE TWO MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL PERIOD MEANING THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THOSE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET.
WE ARE ON OUR THIRD SET OF FRONT BRAKES AND SECOND SET OF REAR. NOW THEY ARE SAYING MY REAR BRAKES HAVE 5% BRAKE LEFT. SO, I WILL NEED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS. THE GUY AT DODGE BLAMED MY WIFE FOR THE WAY SHE DRIVES. PT HERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE WAY SHE DRIVES. *TR

THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THE CAR HAS LEFT ME STRANDED. THE IGNITION WILL NOT TURN OVER. THE BATTERY IS FINE, THE TANK IS FULL. IN OCT., 2014 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE L25/NHTSA 14V-373. I HAVE CALLED MY DEALER AND CHRYSLER'S VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE TWICE, AND AGAIN TODAY. BOTH REPORT THAT "THE PROBLEM IS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT THAT "THE REPAIR PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, NOR DO THEY HAVE AN ETA FOR THEIR ARRIVAL". LAST EVENING MY CAR'S ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 40 MPH. I RESTARTED AND IT STOPPED AGAIN. I HAD PLENTY OF GAS AND THE CAR HAS RUN NORMALLY SINCE. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OF ANY PROBLEMS. IT WAS ONE OF THE QUIETEST VEHICLES I HAVE EVER OWNED, AND THIS HAPPENED OUT OF NO WHERE. THE SHOP HAS INFORMED US THAT THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY SEIZED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE MECHANIC HAS NOT SEEN SUCH SILVERY OIL IN A LONG TIME. THIS COMES ACROSS LIKE A MANUFACTURE ERROR SUCH AS YOUR RECALL FOR THE ROD BEARING IN YOUR 2012. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS. I JUST MADE MY THIRD PAYMENT ON THIS VEHICLE, AND NOW I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE, AFTER OWNING IT FOR 87 DAYS AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE APPROXIMATELY 1000 MILES PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT AND THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING SIGNS. WE PAID FOR THAT AND NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER I WAS STRANDED OUT OF TOWN AT NIGHT WITH MY CHILDREN. DODGE HAD IT TOWED THR NEXT MORNING AND COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE ISSUE. WE HAVE SINCE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED 2 OTHER TIMES BACK TO DODGE AND THEY HAVE FIXED THE STARTER AND ON THE LAST OCCASION THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. ONCE WE HAD THE BATTERY JUMPED TO GET IT STARTED AND IT IS A BRAND NEW BATTERY, HOWEVER THAT DOESNT ALWAYS WORK. WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR BAD IGNITION AND KEY ISSUES IN MAY AND WE STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT FIXED. WE WERE TOLD BY DODGE THAT WE WOULD BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST FOR PARTS AND IT COULD BE MONTHS AS THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING THR SAME ISSUES AND NOT ENOUGH PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.
