TAMARA RECALL... SINCE I GOT THE CAR I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES, FIRST AIR BAGS, REACTIONS AND FUEL SYSTEM AND TODAY AUGUST 18, 2017 AT 4:38AM MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE IN THE HIGH WAY.
DEFECTIVE TIPM MANY VEHICLES DODGE/CHRYSLER HAVE BEEN RECALLED, THE MAJORITY FROM 2007-2015. JOURNEYS WERE NOT INCLUDED, BUT ACCORDING TO THE INCREDIBLE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS I FEEL THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN. THIS EFFECTS EVERYTHING AND MY CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT WILL BE MUCH CHEAPER FOR DODGE TO FIX IT THEN TO GET THE LAWSUIT WHEN MY AIRBAG DOESN'T DEPLOY OR I AM IN AN ACCIDENT.
WHEN DRIVING WILL HIT ANY KIND OF BUMP & ENGINE SHUTS OFF.. THIS STARTED OUT HAPPENING OCCASSIONALLY, NOW HAPPENS NEARLY EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE IT. ALSO WHEN RESTART IT REVS LIKE HOLDING FOOT DOWN ON ACCELERATOR EVEN THOUGH FOOT NOT TOUCHING ACCELERATOR.
THIS CAR IS SIX YEARS OLD AND I HAVE NOW HAD TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS THREE TIMES. EACH TIME THE TECHNICIAN INDICATES THAT THERE IS MINIMAL BRAKE PAD LEFT AND THE ROTORS ARE RUSTED, PITTED AND OVERHEATED. THEY RECOMMEND IN EACH CASE THAT THE THE REPAIR IS A SAFETY CONCERN. WHAT I HAVE READ ONLINE FROM OTHER JOURNEY OWNERS IS THAT THE BRAKES ARE WOEFULLY INADEQUATE FOR THE VEHICLE SIZE AND WEIGHT. IT IS TIME THAT CHRYSLER REPAIR THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL.
VEHICLE TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. UNABLE TO STEER OR BRAKE.
SEVERAL TIMES LAST WEEK WHILE PARKED AND LOCKED (USING THE KEY FOB) THE HORN HAS RANDOMLY HONKED. JUST THIS WEEK ONCE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET THE HORN HONKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 OTHER TIMES THIS WEEK WHILE PARKED EITHER AT MY HOUSE OR AT MY WORK. ANY IDEAS WHAT IS CAUSING THIS MALFUNCTION?
DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS. THE JOURNEY HAS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS INSTALLED BUT NOT ACTIVATED. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE ONLY ACTIVATED IF THE CAR WAS SOLD NEW IN A STATE THAT REQUIRED THEM. THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN ACTIVATE BY HOOKING UP THEIR FACTORY SCANNER BUT IT WOULD COST ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I NEED TO PAY TO HAVE A SAFETY FEATURE THAT WAS INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY ACTIVATED. THERE IS RESEARCH THAT SHOWS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS SAVE LIVES AND SOME OF THE STATES I TRAVEL TO REQUIRE THAT I TURN ON MY HEADLIGHTS IF I DON'T HAVE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. I DISCOVERED THIS RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED.
WHEN DRIVING, BOTH AT LOW NEIGHBORHOOD SPEED AND AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE ENGINE STALLS, LIGHTS AND RADIO STAY ON, STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND BRAKES LOCK. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES INTERMITTENTLY AND UNPREDICTABLY. I DIDN'T BECOME SCARED UNTIL IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ON A HIGHWAY GOING 60MPH AND ALMOST WRECKED TRYING TO SAFELY EXIT (DATE INDICATED BELOW). THE CAR IS NOW IN MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. A MECHANIC SAID IT WAS RELATED TO A PREVIOUSLY-ISSUED SAFETY RECALL BUT WHEN I CALLED A DEALER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL REPAIR, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, DESPITE THE GLARING SIMILARITY. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND, AS STATED, DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT REPAIR MY VEHICLE FOR FREE.
WE'VE BEEN STRANDED SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THE CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY DECIDE NOT TO START . THE BATTERY AND STARTER ARE BOTH FINE BUT SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL CRANK AND THEN WON'T FOR A DAY OR SO. RESEARCH HAS LED ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH IN 2010 DODGE JOURNEY'S. THERE ARE MANY FORUMS AND BLOGS OUT THERE DESCRIBING THIS SAME ISSUE AND THERE IS A TRICK THAT SOMETIMES WHEN THE CAR WON'T CRANK WHILE IN PARK, YOU CAN PUT THE GEAR IN NEUTRAL AND IT WILL CRANK UP. THAT WORKED FOR US SEVERAL TIMES BUT RECENTLY, EVEN THAT TRICK STOPPED WORKING. OUR CAR HAS CURRENTLY BEEN AT A DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 WEEKS AND EVEN THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
HORN GOES OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHEN DRIVING. ALSO HAVE ISSUE WITH KEY/REMOTE IF THE UNLOCK DOOR BUTTON IS HIT TO MANY TIME THE WINDOWS WILL ROLL DOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE ROCHESTER HILLS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM DEALER LOCATED AT 1301 S ROCHESTER RD, ROCHESTER, MI 48307 WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER A RECALL AND REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE STATIONARY AND DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HORN MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN SOUNDED INDEPENDENTLY WHILE THE CONTACT WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE AND WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT IT BEING ENGAGED. MORITZ CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
FRONT SEATS HEAD RESTS RETAINING PIN PLASTIC C CUP HOLDERS FAILING AND LETTING HEAD REST SNAP FORWARD WITH TREMENDOUS FORCE TOWARD HEAD OF DRIVER OR PASSENGER. BASICALLY A PLASTIC PART HOLDING A STEEL PIN THAT HINGES FAILING. IF WHILE DRIVING COULD CREATE CONCUSION TO EITHER DRIVER OR PASSENGER. SOUNDS LIKE CHERRY BOMB GOING OFF. THE VEHICLE IN MY CASE WAS IN GARAGE NOT MOVING, JUST BY CHANCE. IT BLEW UP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE KEY HAD TO BE JIGGLED IN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARK RAPIDS FORD (LOCATED AT 1205 PARK AVE S, POX 830 PARK RAPIDS, MN 56470) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V139000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER WHO DICTATED THE RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,793.
I HAD A RECALL ON MY KEYS BACK IN 2015 BUT EVERY SINCE THEM AT WILL MY TRUCK WILL NOT START. I HAVE TAKEN TO SEVERAL PLACES FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING TO SEE IF IT IS MY BATTERY, STARTER, ALTENATER OR LOOSE WIRING AND THEY HAVE ALL COME BACK NEGATIVE. EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP OR THE DEALER THEY TELL ME THE SAME THING IF IT IS NOT DOING IT WHEN I GET IT TO THEM THEY CANNOT FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I AM TIRED OF BEING STRANDED AND PAYING TO HAVE MY TRUCK TOWED AND THEN IT STARTS AS SOON AS I GET IT HOME. I NEED HELP PLEASE!!
HAVE INTERMITTENT STARTER FAILS. OFTEN LEAVES ME STRANDED. HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IT GOING EVENTUALLY BY JIGGLING FUSES IN THE FUSE BOX. BUT I NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS AND IT HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES. VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS TURNED OFF AND WHEN I WENT TO TURN IT ON, NOTHING. BUT THERE IS POWER IN THE CAR, LIGHTS AND RADIO ETC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UFTRING CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (140 RADIO CITY DR., PEKIN, IL 61554, 309-382-1000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING COOLANT NEEDED TO BE ORDERED AND REPLACED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
I WAS SITTING IN MY APARTMENT WHEN MY DAUGHTER CAME IN AND ASKED WHY MY CAR WAS RUNNING, I HAVE MY KEY SITTING 100 YDS FROM THE CAR, I TURNED THE CAR OFF WENT BACK INSIDE AND 10 MIN LATER IT STARTED AGAIN I USED THE DOOR LOCK TO LOCK IT THIS TIME, IT HAVEN'T STARTED BY ITSELF SINCE I STARTED DOING THIS. NOW WHEN I GET WITHIN 10FT OF THE CAR IT WILL UNLOCK AND ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE KEY IN MY HAND. I CAN' T HAVE THIS HAPPEN ANY MORE HELP.
WITHOUT WARNING, THE HORN STARTS BLARING, WHETHER WE ARE IN THE CAR OR NOT. THIS HAPPENS DAILY! HAD TO TAKE THE FUSE OUT THAT CONTROLS THE HORN! THE ALARM WOULD START BLARING AT NIGHT AND WILL NOT GO OFF, WEARING THE BATTERY DOWN IF WE DO NOT HEAR IT IN THE GARAGE, WHICH IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE HOUSE. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM! NOT HAVING A HORN IS DANGEROUS, AND I'M NOT SURE IF THE AIR BAG IS AFFECTED! DODGE WANTS $105 TO CHECK THE PROBLEMS, AND APPROXIMATELY $400 TO REPAIR, PER THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP. NO HELP FROM MANUFACTURER!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART AFTER IT WAS PARKED FOR AWHILE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BILL LUKE, LOCATED AT 2425 W CAMELBACK RD, PHOENIX, ARIZONA 85015), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE DEALER MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY BE INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS) AND SUGGESTED THAT THE TIPM BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
ESP, BAS, & TRACTION LIGHTS ON CAN'T TAKE OUT OF PARK. DEALERSHIP REPLACED TIPM ($1200) NEXT MORNING LIGHTS COME BACK ON & ONCE STOPPED, CAN'T TAKE OUT OF PARK. WHEN STARTING VEHICLE, I HAVE TO HURRY & PUT IN REVERSE BEFORE ALL DIALS ARE REGISTERING & SAFE TO DRIVE, OTHERWISE ESP, BAS. & TRACTION LIGHTS WILL BE ON & I'M NOT ABLE TO TAKE OUT OF PARK.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS WITH THIS VEHICLE. ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AS I WAS DRIVING, AS I BEGAN TO BRAKE, I LOST ALL POWER AND ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START AND I HAD TO CALL TO GET A JUMP, BUT WAS TOLD MY BATTERY IS GOOD BOTH TIMES. THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 4/23/2017 AT 8:30 PM EST. I GOT IN TO START IT, BUT IT WOULDN'T START AND I CALLED A SERVICE TECH, WHO CAME OUT TO JUMP START IT, ONLY TO TELL ME THAT MY BATTERY IS FINE AND THAT ACCORDING TO HIS EQUIPMENT WORKING PROPERLY. HE WAS UNABLE TO START THE CAR; HOWEVER, I STARTED IT WITHOUT INCIDENT THIS MORNING, BUT WHO KNOWS HOW LONG BEFORE IT WONT STAR OR JUST STOPS RUNNING AS I'M DRIVING AND I LOSE LIGHTS, BRAKES, ETC.
WENT TO GO GET GAS DRIVING THE 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SXT. CORNER OF VILLA AND NORTH AV. IN VILLA PARK , ILLINOIS FILLED MY GAS TANK UP PULLED OUT OF THE GAS STATION. WITHIN 100 FEET OF DRIVING AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION MY CARS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STARTED TO MALFUNCTION. MEANING WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING, HORN GOING OFF, DASH BOARD LIGHTS FLASHING ALL LIGHTING UP, ETC. CAR POWER STEERING CUTS OFF AND ACCELERATION SHUTS OFF. I HAD TO COAST MY CAR INTO AN EMPTY PARKING LOT TO ASSET THE SITUATION. I SEE SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF MY CAR. TURN MY CAR OFF, POPPED OPEN MY HOOD, TO SEE MORE SMOKE COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX. IN A MATTER OF SECONDS THERE WAS VISIBLE FLAME. THE NEXT THING I DID, WHILE CALLING 911 RAN TO THE NEAREST CONVENIENT STORE (BARGAIN IN A BOX) TO SEE IF THEY HAD A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. TOLD THE DETAILS OF WHERE MY LOCATION TO 911 AND TELL THEM THERE WAS A FIRE COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX OF THE CAR. THE EMPLOYEES AT THE CONVENIENT STORE GAVE ME A FIRE EXTINGUISHER WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE ASKED THE OPERATOR IF I SHOULD USE THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER, THE 911 OPERATOR TOLD ME IF MY SAFETY WOULD BE AT RISK THAT SHE ADVISED ME NOT TO USE IT AND TOLD ME THE VILLA PARK POLICE AND VILLA PARK FIREFIGHTERS ARE ON THERE WAY. A CUSTOMER STANDING NEXT TO ME ASKED WHAT DID SHE SAY AND I RELAYED THE MESSAGE BACK TO HIM. HE THEN TOOK IT INTO HIS OWN HANDS AND PUT THE FIRE OUT FOR ME. A FEW MOMENTS AFTER THE FIREFIGHTERS SHOWED UP THEY CUT THE BATTERY CORDS TO THE FUSE BOX CUTTING ALL POWER TO TIPM AND TO THE WHOLE CAR..
FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS MY CAR HORN HONKS WHENEVER IT WANTS TO, IN TRAFFIC OR PARKED IN GARAGE. OTHER DRIVERS THINK I AM HONKING AT THEM (SO FAR NEITHER MY WIFE NOR I HAVEN'T ENCOUNTERED A DISGRUNTLED DRIVER). DODGE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THIS AS AN SAFETY ISSUE.
WIPERS HAVE BEEN TURNING ON UNEXPECTEDLY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, NOW ON 4/18/2017 THE HORN STARTED HONKING UNEXPECTEDLY DAY AND NIGHT WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY ON OR OFF. HORN ALSO STARTED HONKING IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND OTHER DRIVERS STARTED YELLING AT ME FOR HONKING.
WHILE AT HOME, PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE HORN BEGAN TO BLOW ON ITS OWN AT 3 AM. THIS ALSO OCCURRED WHILE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AT A GROCERY STORE AND WHILE PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT ON A SUNDAY AT CHURCH. IT CONTINUES TO BLOW AT RANDOM, WHILE PARKED, ANYWHERE.
2015 (JUNE) THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOT WERE REPLACED <40000 MILES - HAD VEHICLE CHECKED OUT IN FEB. 2017 BEFORE A LONG TRIP - WAS TOLD OK - WENT TO FLORIDA (1500 MILES FROM HOME) ESP/BAS LIGHT CAME ON - CALLED HOME DEALERSHIP - WAS TOLD OK TO DRIVE BUT TO HAVE CHECKED OUT - TOOK TO DEALERSHIP IN ST. PETERSBURG, FL - BRAKING SYSTEM REPLACED - TODAY (APRIL 1, 2017 - EAS/BAS, BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ARE ALL BACK ON AGAIN - THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE SINCE JUNE 2015. TIRED OF SPENDING MONEY OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED 14 TIMES ACCORDING TO DODGE CORPORATE OFFICE SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED IN APRIL 2010
ON APRIL 1ST 2017 WHILE DRIVING HOME AFTER AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION JOB BY A DODGE DEALERSHIP, I NOTICED SMOKE COMING UNDER THE DRIVER'S DASHBOARD SIDE AND BURNING SMELL, AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY. THE DASHBOARD WENT "DARK OR BLANK" BUT CAME RIGHT BACK ON, AND MY WIPERS TURNED ON BY ITSELF. I DON'T HAVE CONTROL OF THE WIPERS WHILE THEY ARE "ON" AND IT WILL TURN ITSELF OFF AS SOON AS THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ARE BACK. THE SMOKE AND BURNING SMELL DIDN'T LAST LONG. IT HAPPENED FAST WITHOUT WARNING AND GONE QUICKLY. IT STOPPED BY THE TIME I FOUND A SAFE PARKING SPOT. WHILE PARKED, I FOUND OUT THAT I LOST MY LIGHTS (HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS) BUT THE HORN, POWER WINDOWS/DOORS/LOCKS AND RADIO ARE STILL WORKING. MY DASHBOARD INDICATOR SHOWED SOMETHING ABOUT "FUSE" WARNING. I CALLED THE DODGE DEALER (WHO JUST PERFORMED THE OIL CHANGE) AND TOLD A SERVICE ADVISOR WHAT JUST HAPPENED. I TOLD THE ADVISOR THAT THE "ENGINE LIGHT" CAME ON BUT IT IS STEADY AND NOT FLASHING. BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP, I TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT MY DASHBOARD WENT "DARK" & WIPERS COMBO AGAIN AT LEAST 3X ON THE WAY BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE ADVISOR CHECKED THE JOURNEY AND CAME BACK WITH THE BAD NEWS OF MELTED DASHBOARD HARNESS / INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DAMAGED DUE TO AN "ELECTRICAL SHORT" AND COST OF ABOUT $5K REPAIR. THE DEALER DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE "ELECTRICAL SHORT". FILED AUTO INSURANCE CLAIM AND THEY ARE NOT COVERING IT (NOT COMPREHENSIVE) BECAUSE THERE'S NO FIRE (CONTAINED) AND THEY ARE CALLING IT A MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SHOP AND TOLD THAT THE DEALER HAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE, S08. THE RECALL IS FOR THE HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS. THE DEALER STATES THAT THE RECALL DOES NOT APPEAR FOR THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS MODEL YEAR AND ENGINE SIZE DO HAVE THIS RECALL BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAVE AN ENGINE BLOCK HEATER IT DOES NOT QUALIFY. THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE POWER STEERING OF THIS VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE S08 RECALL THAT OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS YEAR AND MODEL AND ENGINE SIZE ARE COVERED BY.

PURCHASED MY 2010 JOURNEY MARCH 2017. A WEEK AFTER PURCHASE CONSTANT SHAKE IN STEERING WHEEL, BRAKES AND ROTORS CHANGED ALREADY, CONSTANT BATTLE WITH GETTING IT STARTED, WILL CLICK AND RADIO, LIGHTS , AND ALL WORK. SOMETIMES 5 MINUTES SOMETIMES AN HOUR BEFORE IT WILL START. BATTERY TESTER, ALT, AND STARTER CHECKED. ALL CLEAR, THEN TO ADD TO ASK IF THAT IT ALL OF THE SUDDEN STARTS OVER HEATING ABOUT 10 MINUTES UP THE ROAD. REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT, FLUSH THE LINES AND IT STOP OVER HEATS. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX ANY OF THIS AT THE SAME TIME! I HAVE 4 KIDS I NEED MY VEHICLE FIXED AND SAFE FOR THE ROAD ASAP.
VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH STARTING ONCE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS, I HAVE CHANGED THE STARTER, ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. THE VEHICLE HAS HAS A ELECTRICAL GROUND PLACED FROM THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL TO THE ENGINE BLOCK AND STILL HAS ISSUES WILL STARTING.
I HAVE HAD THE ROTORS, PADS, CALIPERS, AND MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 7 YEARS, MORE THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED IN MY 45 YEAR LIFETIME. I HAVE HAD ALL OF MY CAR'S REPAIRS DONE THROUGH SEARS SO THE BRAKES ARE WARRANTIED. I HAD THE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED IN DEC. 2016 AND NOW HAVING TO TURN AROUND AND HAVING TO REPLACE THEM AGAIN.

HAD TO PULL THE FUSE TO GET THE HORN TO STOP HONKING. TOOK TO MECHANIC FIRST TIME (THE COULDN'T REPLICATE ISSUE) AND HAD CAR BATTERY REPLACED- GOT HOME 1 HOUR LATER AND IT STARTED AGAIN. TOOK INTO DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE EITHER BUT REPLACED THE KEY FOB BATTERIES AND SEEMED TO WORK FOR A DAY. STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. TOOK IT IN FOR THE 3RD TIME (IN A MONTH) AND HAD HORN WIRING HARNESS REPLACED. LASTED 3 WEEKS AND NOW ITS IN THE SHOP AGAIN FOR THE 4TH TIME AND STILL CANNOT DETERMINE WHAT THE ROOT CAUSE IS AS THEY CLAIM ITS NOT THROWING OUT ANY "CODES" TO SHOW WHAT'S WRONG. DEALERSHIP HAS CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THE AREN'T SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT EITHER.. HELP!!

PARKED VEHICLE TO ATTEND A 2 HOUR SCHOOL FUNCTION. IT WAS APPROX. -20 DEGREES OUTSIDE IN THE EVENING. WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE TO GET THE 3 MILES HOME. ONCE WE WERE HOME WE COULD SMELL POWER STEERING FLUID BURNING FROM THE ENGINE. WE PARKED THE VEHICLE, OPENED THE HOOD AND THERE WAS POWER STEERING FLUID ON TOP THE ENGINE AS WELL AS SPRAYED UNDERNEETH THE HOOD. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE DODGE JOURNEY STARTING IN MAY 2016. CHRYSLER RECALL # S08. I CHECKED MY VEHICLE'S VIN WITH YOUR WEBSITE. IT CAME BACK AS NOT BEING INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BEING LOOKED INTO AS MY VEHICLE DISPLAYED THE EXACT ISSUES ON THE RECALL.

THE TIPM WAS REPLACED FOR ROUGHLY $750+LABOR. IT IS NOW JANUARY 2017 AND I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES WITH THE WIPERS BEING STUCK ON AND NO USE OF TURN SIGNALS. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE, I TURNED IT ON, AND HELLO WIPERS. THE TIPM WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN THREE YEARS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS ANY OTHER NUMBER OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS CONTROLLED BY THE TIPM (SO BASICALLY EVERYTHING) COULD BE AFFECTED WITH NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID, HOSES, STEEL TUBES, AND POWER STEERING OIL COOLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V273000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. WE PURCHASED OUR 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SXT BRAND NEW IN OCTOBER 2010 FOR 30K (A RIP OF FOR SURE) - BEING YOUNG, NAIVE AND OUR FIRST BRAND NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE. WITHIN 3000 MILES, WE HAD TO HAVE ALL OF THE ROTORS RESURFACED. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE. A FULL SET OF TIRES TWICE. THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE RUNNING THREE TIMES, ALMOST RESULTING IN HORRIBLE ACCIDENTS (THIS WAS DUE TO THE IGNITION ISSUE THAT *EVENTUALLY* RECALLED). THE ALARM WOULD GO OFF RANDOMLY AND OFTEN WITHOUT REASON. THE DEALER OF COURSE, WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ERROR. SO WE WERE LEFT WITH NO OTHER RECOURSE THAN THE REMOVE THE FUSE, WHICH IS TOTALLY UNSAFE BUT WAS THE ONLY OPTION WE HAD. NOW, WITHIN THE PAST 8 MONTHS OR SO, THE BATTERY HAS BEEN GOING DEAD AFTER BEING LEFT WITHOUT RUNNING FOR AT LEAST TWO DAYS. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW BATTERY TWICE, AND A FULL DIAGNOSTIC SCAN WAS RAN ON DECEMBER 22ND WHEN THE LATEST NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED. THEY FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG AS TO WHY THE BATTERY WAS DRAINING. NOW, TODAY, ITS DEAD AGAIN AFTER TWO DAYS BEING LEFT SITTING - ANOTHER FULL SET OF BRAKES WAS REPLACED A MONTH AGO - AND YET ANOTHER ROTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AS THERE IS NO SALVAGING THIS ONE. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 60K MILES ON IT. WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO CHANCE WITH THE VIRGINIA (WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE) 'LEMON LAW', AS ANY ISSUES NEED TO BE REPORTED WITHIN 18 MONTHS OF THE DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY RECALLED AND ALL THE ISSUES NEED TO BE FIXED BY DODGE. WE'RE UNDERWATER FOR SURE ON OUR LOAN AND AT BEST, WE'LL ONLY BE ABLE TO GET 3K FOR A TRADE IN. ITS A RUNNING WHEN IT WANTS TO DEATH TRAP AND DODGE NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS.
