The blind spot is horrible. I have to check my mirrors 3 times because even if I look on my side, especially on the driver’s side whenever I have to switch lanes, I can’t see if there is a car on my blind spots. The mirrors don’t help because it may appear that the car beside me is far but it may also be near. So that of the major issue with this car. Next, when the vehicle in front of me did a sudden stop and I hit my brakes too hard to stop, the car made a throttling sound then it stopped. When it was safe to go, it wouldn’t go even though my gear is on Drive and I am pressing on the gas pedal. It just makes a rubbing noise as like it is on Park mode and you are hitting the gas pedal. So I had to shut my car off and turn it back on. Lastly, cruise control doesn’t work very well. Sometimes it works, but most of the times I had to pull over and restart my car or hit the brakes and press the on/off switch for cruise control.
Having to jump vehicle every morning something draining battery Ive replaced battery 3 times
My safety was at risk and I put others at risk when my vehicle lost power in the middle of a busy highway and almost caused an accident with my 2 young children in the car. It would not accelerate and we got stuck in the middle of the rode. The ABS light came on when it happened. I took it to my local dealer to diagnose and was told there was water in the ABS module connector which caused the wires to corrode. Chrysler had a recall on this specific issue for my model but because my vehicle didn't come out of a specific batch, they won't cover it. This is a safety issue and if other vehicles of this make and model were recalled for this specific issue, they should fix mine. I have attached the R61 recall from Chrysler for this issue
WHILE PARKING CAR AND ENGAGING "THE PARKING BRAKE,} THE BRAKE POPPED AND A ROUND SILVER LOOKING ITEM POPPED OUT FROM UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL AND LANDED ON THE FLOOR BOARD. TRYING TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE BECAME USELESS AS THE PETAL JUST STATED ENGAGED AND WHEN TOUGHED IT CAME UP TO THE PARKING BRAKE RELEASE PLACE, IF THE PETAL WAS TOUCHED IT WOULD FALL BACK TO THE ENGAGED LOOKING. WHEN DRIVING I DID NOT NOTICE ANY BURNING SMELL WHICH TOLD ME THAT THE EMERGENCY WAS NOT ENGAGED EVEN TOUGH THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS ON. AT HOME I CHECKED UNDER THE CAR AND FOUND THAT BACK AND FORTH. THE BRAKE CABLE WAS LOOSE AND MOVEABLE. LOOKING AT THE ROUND PIECE THAT FELL OFF IT APPEARS TO BE WHERE THE CABLE WAS TETHERED TO AND THIS WOULD BE PLACED IN THE BRAKE PETAL. THE CABLE APPEARS TO HAVE SEVERED AT THE ROUND PIECE(CONNECTOR) MAKING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INOPERABLE. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY RUST BUT JUST SEVERED
I messaged you the other day about my car losing it's brakes when it rains. I was wondering if you had any information for me about this problem. complaint # 11422687
I have a 2012 Dodge Journey when it rains and I have to go through water on the roads my car will loose it's brakes, which is causing me to almost hit the person in front of me. I see that my car doesn't have a recall on it for this problem but it's to the point that I'm afraid to drive it in the rain. This is my only vehicle to drive back and forth to work. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks
As I am drive my car will slow down almost as if it’s gonna shut off then began to rev up and feel as if it’s jumps back into gear. I been looking through issues with this car and I see the transmission solenoid has been a problem. Seems as if this is the issue with my vehicle.
Vehicle stalls intermittently, when coming to a stop at a light or Stop Sign.This has occurred on multiple occasions and could result in serious injury or Death. The latest date was yesterday May 31,2021.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 173,000.
VEHICLE TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING, EVEN AT FULL SPEED. THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRVING ANYWHERE INCLUDING THE HIGHWAY
ON THE FREEWAY, CAR HYDROPLANED AND HIT CONCRETE TEMPORARY DIVIDER TWICE. ONCE IN THE BACK AND THEN THE FRONT AND SIDE OF THE CAR. CAR CROSSED THREE LANES AND FORCIBLY LANDED ON EDGE OF FREEWAY.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the brakes locked up. The brakes, traction control, and ABS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.
MY CAR IS THROWING OFF A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AN IT INDICATES IT'S MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER, MY ENGINE HAS AN KNOCKING SOUND ALSO, AND WHEN I APPLY PRESSURE ON MY BRAKES THERE'S A DELAY OF STOPPING. WHILE I'M DRIVING CITY/HIGHWAY.
I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH HEAT EVERY WINTER FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS. I HAVE PAID THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON THIS EVERY WINTER AND WILL WORK FOR THAT SEASON ONLY.
THE RADIO/THERMOSTAT WINDOW POWER LOCKS AND USB SLOWLY STARTED TO MALFUNCTION. NOW THE SCREEN TO THE RADIO AND THERMOSTAT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. THE WIRING HARNESSES LOCATED AT THE REAR HATCH WHICH HAS NO VISIBLE OUTSIDE DAMAGE, YES ALL THE WIRING INSIDE IS PINCHED AND EXPOSED. THE ONLY WAY WE DISCOVERED IT WAS BECAUSE THE BACK WIPER BLADE WENT OUT.
EVERY 15K MILES OR SO THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER STICKS AND DESTROYS THE PADS AND ASSOCIATED ROTOR. I HAVE REPLACED THAT SPECIFIC CALIPER AND BOTH ROTORS THREE TWICE ALREADY. AFTER AROUND 25K TO 30K MILES I CAN NO LONGER GET THE CALIPER TO UNFREEZE. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 93K MILES ON IT AND I AM ABOUT TO REPLACE IT AGAIN. ONCE THE OUTSIDE PAD GETS TO LESS THAN 30% THE WHEEL TRIES TO LOCK UP. ONCE WHILE DRIVING IN THE COUNTRY MY WIFE NEARLY CAUGHT THE CAR ON FIRE BECAUSE OF OVERHEATING BRAKES. THIS FORM ONLY ALLOWS FOR ONE ENTRY, BUT AS STATED THIS HAS HAPPENED A MULTITUDE OF TIMES. THE WORST BEING WHEN THE ROTOR WAS GLOWING RED BEFORE IT WAS NOTICED BY ANOTHER PERSON AT A GAS STATION. THAT HAPPENED IN 2015.

THE 2012 DODGE JOURNEY SUV WIRING HARNESS IN THE REAR HATCH IF USED REGULARLY THE WIRES WILL BRAKE AND CAUSE NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. RANGING FROM NO REAR LIGHTS, WINDSHIELD WIPER, THE REAR LOCK BUTTON WILL ALSO MALFUNCTION. SOMETIMES AS IN MY CASE IT HAS CAUSE ALTERNATOR ISSUES. I AM NOW BROKE DOWN DUE TO WHAT WILL NOW BE MY 3RD ALTERNATOR IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO RECALLED.

The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Darcars Orange Park Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (7233 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32244) for recall repair; however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

MY AWD LIGHT IS ON AND WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY SUV REAR WHEELS SPIN MY SUV AROUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ON HIGHWAY 84 GOING TOWARD MISSISSIPPI.
MY DRIVER SIDE FRONT HEAD REST POPPED OUT FOR NO REASON WHILE I WAS SITTING IN MY CAR AT .MY WORK.
IT'S BEEN A FEW WEEKS NOW THAT MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TURNING HARD.. WHEN IT GOT REALLY HARD TO TURN WAS WHEN I TOOK IT SERIOUS THAT SOMETHING MAY BE WRONG.. ABOUT THREE WEEK AGO , BEING AT THE END OF JUNE I CHECKED MY POWER STEERING OIL I NOTICED I HAD MAJOR OIL LOSS.. I HAD IT SERVICED AS A LOCAL GARAGE THINKING IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE RACK AND PINIONS. WHEN THEY SERVICED IT WAS SERVICED WITH A NEW POWER STEERING COOLER AND PUMP..COSTING ME OVER $1000 IN REPAIRS.THE PROBLEM WASN'T FIXED BECAUSE THE WHEEL WAS STILL HARD TO TURN. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT TO GOOD YEAR, THEY CLEAN THE RACK AND PINION WITH DEGREASER FROM ALL THE OIL LEAKING.. THE TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT FOR A COUPLE DAY AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.. IT DROVE NORMAL FOR A WEEK, JULY 4 2020 WHILE OUT IN ABOUT, IT STARTED SMOKING AND SQUEAKING.. I PULLED OVER AND HAS IT TOLD TO A GARAGE.. I'M THINKING IT MAY BE THE SERPENTINE BELT.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY TWO KIDS WHEN I HAD TURNED MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON THEN OFF AGAIN AS CARS WERE COMING WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS AN ALERT REGARDING THIS, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION. COULD YOU ADVICE ME WHAT TO DO IN RESPECT TO THIS MATTER AND IF IT WAS A RECALL SINCE 2015 WHY I NEVER RECEIVED THE LETTER. *TR

THE CAR ACTUALLY SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING. THE ISSUE IT KEEPS SHOWING IS A CRANK SENSOR CODE. THE SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES NOW! IT IS ALSO NOT AN EASY JOB SINCE ON AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE MODEL, THERE ARE MANY HOURS INVOLVED TO REPLACE IT. BUT IF YOU'RE ON THE HIGHWAY AND DRIVING NORMALLY THE CAR WILL DIE AT ANY MOMENTS NOTICE AND GIVE NO WARNING. SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE MANY MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. IF YOU DO A QUICK SEARCH AND TYPE DODGE JOURNEY DIES WHILE DRIVING YOU WILL EASILY FIND MANY PEOPLE WITH SAME ISSUE. MANY PEOPLE SPENDING THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY ON REPAIRS THAT GET THEM NOWHERE! THIRDLY, WHEN IT RAINING OUTSIDE DRIVING AND STOP AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN IT TURNS GREEN AND I PROCEED TO GO AND MY TIRES SLIDE MY RADIO WOULD RESTART LIKE I JUST CUT MY TRUCK ON. EVERYTHING HAPPENED AT DIFFERENT TIMES, BUT THE MOST RECENT IS THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON.

I HAVE HAD MY SPEED CENSOR AND WHEEL BEARING REPAIRED TWICE VERY CLOSELY TOGETHER AND IT NOW NEEDS DONE AGAIN. MY ABS, TRACTION, AND AWD LIGHTS ARE ALL ON. WHEN THEY ARE ALL ON, I HAVE NO TRACTION AT ALL AND SLIDE ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT IS VERY UNSAFE AND I FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS A DEATH TRAP. I HAVE PUT OVER $10,000 INTO MY CAR IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS FOR UNNECESSARY MAINTENANCE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT PREVIOUSLY THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE JEFF D'AMBROSIO DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP DEALER (484-364-3777, LOCATED AT 1221 E LANCASTER AVE, DOWNINGTOWN, PA 19335) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE ROTORS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE HAD NO HEAT JUST COOL AIR COMING OUT OF VENTS. DRIVERS SIDE HAD HEAT COMING OUT OF VENTS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY TO HAVE COOLING SYSTEM AND HEATER CORE FLUSHED. WAS TOLD BY INDEPENDENT SHOP IF PROBLEM COMES BACK TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALER AND HAVE HEATER CORE REPLACED. AFTER ABOUT 2 MONTHS PROBLEM CAME BACK. TOOK TO DEALER AND FOUND SAME PROBLEM, A CLOGGED HEATER CORE. THEY REACED HEATER CORE IN DECEMBER OF 2018, ALL WAS GOOD TILL NOVEMBER OF 2019. NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. TOOK BACK TO DEALER AND THEY FLUSHED HEATER CORE. DECEMBER OF 2019 ONCE AGAIN NO HEAT ON PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE. THEY REFLUSHED HEATER CORE AND TOLD US IF PROBLEM COMES BACK TO HAVE RADIATOR REPLACED AND COOLING SYSTEM FLUSHED. THIS IS TURNING INTO A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM DUE TO THE WINDOW KEEP FOGGING UP IN MY WIFES CAR MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR HER TO SEE CLEARLY AND SAFELY WHILE DRIVING. WE HAVE SPENT MORE THAN $2000.00 IN REPAIRS AND NOW THEY WANT $700.00+ AND SAID THERE IS NO GUARANTEE IT WILL WORK.

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
THE ABS LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WITH SLIDING MARKS LIGHT HAVE SHOWN UP ON MY DASH WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN AT LOW SPEED. THIS HAS ACCUSED TWO OR THREE TIMES AND NOW IS STAYING ON ALL THE TIME. I SAW AN ARTICLE ON LINE THAT THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS IN 2015. MY CAR ONLY HAS 48278 MILES ON IT. COULD YOU LET ME KNOW IF THERE WAS OR WHAT I NEED TO DO ABOUT THIS PROBLEM?
BREAKS AREN'T WORKING SHOP TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECALL AND SAID THERE'S NO AIR IN THE LINES AND NO LEAKING LINES TESTED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND NO ISSUES BUT MY BREAKS ARE STILL NOT FULLY ENGAGING. TRUNK DOESN'T OPEN I'VE BROUGHT IT TO 4 SHOPS AS WELL AS A DODGE DEALERSHIP AND NON HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THE LATCH TO DISINGAGE.
IN COLD WEATHER (30 DEGREE AND LOWER) THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED AFTER BEING OPENED. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. I FOUND A YOUTUBE FIX BY PULLING THE CAR HANDLE UP AND USING A SCREWDRIVER TO PUSH THE LATCH EITHER UP OR DOWN THEN CLOSING THE DOOR. HOWEVER TODAY IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN ONE DAY THEN THE DOOR OPENED (UNLATCHED) WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED WHILE THE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.

MY DASH MESSAGE SAYS KEY FOB BATTERY LOW. SOMETIMES IT SAYS KEY NOT DETECTED AND I CAN NOT START THE CAR. AT OTHER TIMES THE FOB WON'T UNLOCK THE CAR.I HAVE CHANGED KEY FOB BATTERIES AND THAT DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR YESTERDAY WHEN THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET IT BACK HOME EVERYTHING IN THE CAR STARTED SHUTTING OFF AND THEN THE CAR STARTED STALLING WHILE I WAS ON THE ROAD I BARELY MADE IT INTO A GAS STATION BEFORE THE CAR DIED AND HAD IT TOWED TO TRIPLE A REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON THE CAR WHICH HAS NOW BEEN STATED TO ME THAT ITS THE ALTERNATOR AND IVE ONLY HAD THE CAR 3 MONTHS BOUGHT IT USED BUT THE BATTERY WENT BAD AND NOW THE ALTERNATOR IN LESS THEN 2 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER ALONG WITH THE ACTUATOR ALSO CLICKING WHEN THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT. ALL OF THIS HAPPENING IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. WHEN THE CAR STARTED DYING ALL THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTS WENT OFF THE BRAKES THE ABS THE AIR BAGS EVERYTHING AND THIS WAS ON A BUSY ROAD DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I BARELY GOT MY CAR TO A SAFE LOCATION AND THAT WAS ONLY BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND ME IN HIS CAR. THIS PROBLEM MADE IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO BREAK AT RED LIGHTS AND GET MY CAR MOVING THRU THE INTERSECTION TO THE GAS STATION. AND THE CAR LIGHT WAS ON ABOUT 15 MINUTES MAYBE BEFORE IT FINALLY STALLED OUT THE CAR.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAT STOPPED BLOWING WARM AND BECAME ONLY COLD AIR. FOUND OUT BY HAVING HEATER CORE REPLACED THAT ITS BECAUSE OF CASTING SAND LEFT OVER ON ENGINE BLOCK AND THE ANGLE OF HEATER CORE CAUSES IT TO BUILDUP AND PREVENT THE HEAT FROM THE CORE INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE. NEW HEATER CORE ALREADY CLOGGED NO HEAT ON EITHER SIDE. WHEN THEY REPLACED IT WAS DODGE DEALER AND THEY FLUSHED EVERYTHING THEY SAID.

READS -15 ON DASH BOARD AT ALL TIMES, SOMETIMES WON'T START AND CAN WIGGLE FUSE BOX AROUND, YOU CAN HEAR THE SOUNDS OF ELECTRICAL POPS AND THEN WILL START AND DO FINE. TRYING TO SAVE UP FOR NEW ONE BUT OVER THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR NEW ONE. AND ONE MORE ISSUE MY JOURNEY CLEARLY SAYS SXT ON THE VEHICLE BUT THE VIN COMES UP ON YOUR SITE AS AN SE HOW DOES THAT WORK.

APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES DOWN THE ROAD, WELL GOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON POST FLASHING AND WITH AN OFF SYMBOL UNDERNEATH IT IN TWO SEPARATE LOCATIONS. ALSO THE RED LIGHTNING BOLT SYMBOL CAME ON AS WELL. AT THE SAME TIME THAT THE LIGHTS CAME ON MY CAR DECELERATED AT A RAPID PACE, WHICH WAS NOT AT ALL SAFE ON THE HIGHWAY. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED ON MY FLASHERS AND PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER GETTING ON MY PHONE TO SEE WHAT IT COULD BE, I DECIDED THAT I WOULD LIMP HOME WITH THE CAR SO I COULD RESEARCH A LITTLE FURTHER WHAT WAS GOING ON AT HOME. WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME AFTERWARD, THE CAR NEVER GOT FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR AND ACCELERATED AT A VERY, VERY SLOW PACE. THE AIR CONDITIONER NO LONGER WORKED AND WHEN I HAD TO DRIVE UP A VERY SMALL HILL, THE CAR SEEMED LIKE IT WOULD STOP COMPLETELY.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE DRIVER'S SIDE CYLINDER HEAD. THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE CYLINDER HEAD; HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS A WIRE SHORTAGE FROM THE PCM TO THE MAP SENSOR. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN A COST ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WIRING WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,000.
