THE CAR DISABLES WHILE DRIVING AND DOES NOT START PROPERLY. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED IT AND EACH TIME THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX THE CAR. I BELIEVE THE CAR IS A LEMON AND WANT TO SPARE SOMEONE THE NIGHTMARE THAT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED ONLY A FEW MONTHS AFTER THEY WERE INSTALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON A BUSY ROAD IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND DIED WHILE DRIVING IT, HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FUSE HAD BLOWN, THE CAR IS ONLY 1YR OLD. THE SECOND TIME WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGH WAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED THIS TIME IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS BAD THE DEALER REPLACED IT, THERE HAVE BEEN A MULTITUDE OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE FROM THE AC NOT COMING ON TO THE RADIO/NAV SCREEN NOT COMING ON WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. BRAKE PROBLEMS SEEMS TO BE THE NEXT THING THAT IS ROUGH ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
THE PROBLEM STARTED RIGHT AFTER I GOT THE VEHICLE HOME, THE POWER WINDOW DID NOT WORK NOR THE POWER LOCK. WHEN STARTED THE HEAT AND AIR CONTROL WOULD RESET THEMSELVES. ALSO, THE CLOCK AND RADIO WOULD GO ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN. NOW THE PROBLEMS HAVE INCREASED, MY SLIP RESISTANCE IS NOT WORKING, I AM HEARING ALL SORTS OF NOISES UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING. ALSO, I AM USING MORE GAS MILEAGE THAN WHAT IS TOLD ABOUT THE VEHICLE, TO BE HONEST IF I HAD IT TO DO OVER AGAIN I WOULD HAVE NEVER TRADED MY TRUCK IN ON THIS VEHICLE. BUT, NOW I AM STUCK WITH IT AND THE PAYMENTS EVEN WHEN IT COMES TO THE POINT OF THE NEED OF PARKING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WILL NOT RISK MY FAMILIES LIFE IN A VEHICLE THAT HAS AS MANY PROBLEMS HAS THIS ONE IS HAVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE JOURNEY EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO SOLUS KH16 225/55/R19 (DOT 27PJYA5M4411) TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TIRE. THE MECHANIC STATED THERE WERE CRACKS ON THE TIRES SIDEWALL. AFTER REPLACING THE TIRE, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE ALSO BLEW OUT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,037. *TR
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON JUNE 15,2012. UNEXPECTEDLY, ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2012 MY VEHICLE LOST CONTROL AT THE LOCATION I 287NB EXIT 41A PARSIPPANY RAMP ONTO 80 E TRAFFIC THEN MY VEHICLE LOST CONTROL AND SLAMMED ONTO THE GUARD RAIL REPEATEDLY. I IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED JOHN JOHNSON OF THE INCIDENT AND I PLEADED FOR THEM TO SEND ME A TOW TRUCK BECAUSE OF MY 100,000 MI WARRANTY. FURTHER, I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURERS CHRYSLER GROUP AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. EVENTUALLY, BECAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT CAUSE AND EFFECT THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE AND SEND FOR A CONTRACTOR INSPECTOR FROM PENNSYLVANIA TO INSPECT THE CAR. AFTER THE INSPECTION, THE CONTRACTOR CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME HE IS SENDING IN THE REPORT TO CHRYSLER AND WAIT A WEEK BEFORE CONTACTING THEM FOR A COPY OF THE REPORT. MOREOVER, I FOLLOWED UP, AND CHRYSLER COULD NOT TELL ME WHO WAS HANDLING MY CASE. FINALLY, AFTER PURSUING MY CASE SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE CASE FILE WAS CLOSED AND SENT TO THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT BECAUSE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL WENT OUT. FURTHER, I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE IN CONTACT WITH ME SHORTLY. NO ONE CONTACTED ME AND SEVERAL WEEKS PASSED AND I STILL DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING FROM THE CHRYSLER GROUP. I TRIED AGAIN UNTIL I GOT AN ANSWER AND I WAS TOLD TO EXPECT A LETTER AND NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED. EVENTUALLY, AFTER A LONG WAIT, I RECEIVED A LETTER THAT STATED THAT MY CLAIM IS DENIED AND THAT THE INSPECTOR DID NOT FIND ANY MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. I ASKED FOR A COPY OF THE REPORT AND CHRYSLER REFUSE TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE INSPECTION REPORT THAT GATHERED INFORMATION FROM THE VEHICLE IMAGING ONBOARD COMPUTER SYSTEMS. ADDITIONALLY, I AM STILL WITHOUT MY CAR OR A CAR. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE HAD PAIN AND SUFFERING AND HARDSHIP OVER THIS ORDEAL. AND I AM STILL MAKING MONTHLY PAYMENTS FOR A CAR I DON'T HAVE OR DRIVE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE JOURNEY SE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER IT CRASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED AND A REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD COME OUT AND DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED PENDING THE INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 3,000.
WHILE I EXITED OFF A HIGHWAY RAMP TO PROCEED ON ANOTHER HIGHWAY, I PUT MY INDICATOR ON TO BREAK INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, MY VEHICLE THEN LOST CONTROL BY ITSELF AND SLAMMED REPEATEDLY ONTO THE GUARD RAILS. THE VEHICLE DID NOT COME TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP SO I STRUGGLED TO GAIN CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED APPROXIMATELY .45 MI FROM THE ACCIDENT. IT IS A NEW CAR WITH A 100,000 MILES WARRANTY SO I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND MADE A COMPLAINT. THEY HAD AN INVESTIGATOR COME OUT AND INVESTIGATE THE CRASH AND CAR AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE END RESULT IS BECAUSE UP TO THIS DAY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A COPY OF THE REPORT OR ANY INFORMATION ON WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR THE DAY OF THE CRASH. I AM DEVASTATED BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY CAR EVER SINCE. IT IS STILL IN THE MANUFACTURERS POSSESSION. THEY DO NOT ANSWER ANY OF MY CALLS OR RESPOND TO ANY OF MY MASSAGES. I STRUGGLED THE ENTIRE WINTER MONTHS WITH MY CHILDREN BECAUSE WE HAD TO WALK IN SEVERE WEATHER AND TEMPERATURES. MY FAMILY WAS IN THE VEHICLE (MY SON WAS 4 WEEKS OLD AT THE TIME, MY DAUGHTER 2) ON THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY AND THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AT 65 MPH. MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. ABOUT 15 MILES LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. WE EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND THE WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, THE LOW FUEL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IT'S HAPPEND TWO OTHER TIMES SINCE THAT FIRST INCIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN'T RECREATE THE INCIDENT AND THE CODES AREN'T ACTIVE SO THEY CAN'T VERIFY THE SCENARIO. CHRYSLER HAS TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE VEHICHLE IN UNPREDICTABLE, UNRELIABLE AND IN MY OPINION, UNSAFE. I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH ON THE ISSUE AND FOUND A FORUM INDICATING STALLING ISSUES WITH DODGE JOURNEYS DATING BACK TO 2008. THE RESPONSES FROM SERVICE PROFESSIONALS IS ASTOUNDING - EVERYTHING FROM IT BEING A RESULT OF THE VEHICLE JUST BEING WASHED TO KEY FOB DEPROGRAMMING. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW ON JULY 23,2012, AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THERE WAS A LOUD GROANING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END, ALSO STARTED TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. MY FIRST DEALER CONTACT WAS ON SEPT 4, 2012 AND WORKED ON THE BRAKES, AND THIS SOMEWHAT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THE DEALER HAS WORKED ON THE STEERING AND BRAKES A TOTAL OF 8 TIMES, REPLACING THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES, ALSO DEGLAZEING AND LUBRICATING AND WHATEVER, EACH TIME IT WORKED FOR A WEEK OR SO. THE LAST TIME , APRIL 29, 2014, A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB WAS DONE ON THE REAR BRAKES, A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, AND REPAIR THE FRONT BRAKES. THIS COST ME $499.00. MILEAGE IS 46700. THEY ALSO REBUILT THE ENGINE DUE TO HEAD AND VALVE FAILURE. AS OF MAY 25, 2015 IT IS AGAIN MAKING THE NOISE AND PULLING HARD TO THE RIGHT. I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD TAKE THIS CAR BACK. THE CONTACT WAS IN REVERSE WHEN THE BACKING SYSTEM ALERTED THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE APPROACHING. THE CONTACT HEARD THE ALERT CHIME BUT STATED THAT THE ALARM NEEDED TO BE AMPLIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,600. I BOUGHT MY NEW DODGE JOURNEY ON THE 16TH OF JULY 2012. I LIVE APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP WERE I BOUGHT MY JOURNEY. MOST OF MY DRIVING IS HIGHWAY SO I DIDN'T NOTICE THE ISSUE RIGHT AWAY. THE FIRST TIME I CAME TO A STOP WITH MY NEW VEHICLE THE BRAKES SHUDDERED LIKE THEY WERE GRABBING THEN LETTING GO AND GRABBING AGAIN, REALLY FAST. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THIS AND A TRANSMISSION SHUDDER WHICH THEY SAY CHRYSLER HAS NO FIX. IS THIS SOMETHING YOU HAVE SEEN FROM JOURNEYS BEFORE? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE AIR BAG FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 2,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING AT 830PM AND HAD AT LEAST 120 MILES ON THE SAME ROAD AND SET THE CRUISE CONTROL TO 68MPH, THE LEGAL SPEED WAS 65MPH AND THERE WAS LIGHT TRAFFIC. AS MY CAR APPROACHED A SMALL HILLY INCLINE, IT FAILED TO MAINTAIN THE 68MPH, DROPPING TO 60MPH, AND THEN UPON REACHING "THE TOP" IT ACCELERATED RAPIDLY REACHING HIGH RPMS ROUGHLY 5500 6000 AND OVER COMPENSATING TO AS MUCH AS 77 BEFORE SLOWING DOWN TO THE PRESET SPEED. AFTER DOING THIS 3 MORE TIMES, I PULLED OVER TURNED OFF THE CAR AND STARTED IT UP, HOPING IT MAY JUST BE A QUICK FIX. IT ONCE AGAIN DID IT AND I REFRAINED FROM USING THE CRUISE CONTROL FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY TRIP. ON MY WAY BACK, I ONCE AGAIN TRIED THE CRUISE CONTROL AGAIN AND SAW THE SAME RESULTS. UPON RETURNING HOME I CALLED MY DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT AT MY NEXT APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS 10 DAYS LATER. 2 DAYS PRIOR TO ME BRINGING IN THE CAR, I TRIED IT FOR A THIRD TIME, THIS TIME SET AT 45MPH, SAME AS LEGAL SPEED LIMIT, WHILE CONTINUING UP FROM A PARKWAY ONTO A BRIDGE ENTRANCE, THE CAR DID IT AGAIN AND NEARLY SENT ME FLYING INTO THE BACK OF A TRUCK BUT I WAS ABLE TO BREAK FAST ENOUGH TO SLOW DOWN AND DO A MINOR SWERVE WITHIN MY LANE TO AVOID IT. THIS WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY A LOW ENGINE COOLANT WARNING AND I PULLED OVER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS WELL ABOVE THE MINIMUM LEVEL, HOWEVER HAD ORANGE COOLANT ON TOP OF IT. I CLEANED UP WHAT I COULD AND DID BELOW SPEED LIMIT HOME. THIS WAS MY SECOND ISSUE WITH THE COOLANT WARNING, AT 1150 MILES I BROUGHT IT IN AND THE DEALER FOUND NO CODES THAT IT EVEN OCCURRED AND THEREFORE DID NOT FIX A THING. UPON DROPPING OFF MY VEHICLE, THEY DID NOT SEEM AT ALL CONCERNED AND THOUGHT I WAS MAKING IT UP. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY OWN CAR. *JS
BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. I TOOK IT TO ONE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY "RESET" THE COMPUTER CHIP AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.... IT DIDN'T!! I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS "NORMAL". WHAT!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN THAT BE NORMAL FOR ANY VEHICLE. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TOLD ME THAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T FEEL IT UNTIL 3000-3500 MILES. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!! NOW I'M WAITING TO HEAR FROM CHRYSLER TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE! *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. AFTER TWO TIME TO THE SAME DEALER, SAME PROBLEM. TOOK CAR TO ANOTHER DEALER, FINALLY THE CORRECT REPAIR. DEFECTIVE CYLINDER HEAD. *TR
BRAKES HAVE SQUEALED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR. I HAVE RETURNED TO DEALER AT LEAST 4 TIMES. DEALER REPLACED PADS TWICE AND ROTORS ONCE. CONTINUED TO SQUEAL. REPLACED PADS AND ROTORS WITH HIGH QUALITY AFTERMARKET PARTS. NOW AFTER 4 MONTHS PADS AND ROTORS ARE GLAZED AND SQUEAKING AGAIN AND HAS A BURNING SMELL AFTER DRIVING FOR SHORT DISTANCE. TOOK BACK TO ANOTHER DEALER TO CHECK THE CALIPERS FOR STICKING. DEALER SAYS THAT CALIPERS ARE WORKING PROPERLY. I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM CAN DEVELOP INTO A SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN SO I AM CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2012 DODGE JOURNEY IN MARCH 2012. THE CAR HAD 14 MILES ON IT, OUR FIRST NEW CAR. SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING THE CAR AROUND FOR ABOUT A MONTH, WE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WE NOTICED THAT WHEN COMING TO A STOP THE TRANSMISSION STARTING STUTTERING AND IT WOULD SHAKE THE WHOLE CAR. WE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THAT ONCE, BUT THEN IT STARTED HAPPENING ALMOST EVERY TIME WE WOULD COME TO A STOP, WHETHER WE WERE SLOWING DOWN COMING OFF OF A HIGHWAY OR SITTING THROUGH STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T RECREATE IT. THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THEIR COMPUTER AND FOUND NO ISSUES. 3 MONTHS LATER WE DECIDED TO TAKE IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THEY WERE ABLE TO RECREATE THE STUTTERING, THIS TIME WHILE ACCELERATING. SINCE THEN THEY HAVE BEEN BACK AND FORTH WITH CHRYSLER AND HAVE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP FOR 2 WEEKS NOW. CHRYSLER IS NOW HAVING THEM OPEN THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE SOME PARTS. THIS CONCERNS ME SINCE THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR! *TR
BRAKES ON THE 2012 DODGE JOURNEY SQUEAKED AND APPEARED TO NOT WANT TO STOP PROPERLY. I TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS BREAK DUST THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE SQUEAKING GOT WORST, I TOOK IT BACK IN WAS TOLD THAT THEY REPLACED MY BRAKE PADS. HERE I AM 2 MONTHS LATER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE HAS A SLOW TAKE OFF. WHEN TRYING TO OBTAIN SPEED THE VEHICLE STALLS BEFORE SPEED IS PICKED UP. NOW, I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PASSENGER SEATBELT NOT GIVING A LIGHT SIGNAL NOR ALARMING SIGNAL THAT SEATBELT IS NOT ON. *TR
ISSUE WITH 2012 DODGE JOURNEY CREW: DODGE ONLY OFFERED 19" WHEEL BUT PUT AN UNDERSIZED 16" SPARE TIRE IN CAR. THE DIMENSION OF WHEEL DODGE USED TAKES A TIRE THAT IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE AND ONLY MANUFACTURED BY A SMALL NUMBER OF TIRE PRODUCERS. THIS SITUATION PUTS AN OWNER IN A PREDICAMENT WHEN A TIRE FAILS. POSSIBLY BE STUCK SOME WHERE IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN A TIRE OR WEEKS TO GET OR HAVE TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES ON A WHEEL THAT IS SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT IN DIAMETER THAN THE OTHER WHEELS. THIS IS NOT A SAFE SITUATION. MY PERSONAL INFORMATION IS NOT NEEDED BY YOU OR ANY ONE ELSE. THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE FACTS WHICH SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. WHILE STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY I COMPLAINED THAT THE REAR ROTORS WERE SCORED. REAR BRAKE PADS ARE TOTALLY WORN OUT, AFTERMARKET PADS WERE SUGGESTED, AND PUT ON AT MY EXPENSE OF $270.00. CAR HAS 30,076 MILES ON IT. I WAS TOLD ON 29SEP14 THAT ONCE WARN AND SCORED REAR ROTORS SCORING AGAIN WAS NORMAL. CAR HAS 41,124 MILES ON IT. LAST WEEK CAR WAS AGAIN BROUGHT IN, THE REAR RIGHT REAR BRAKE PAD WAS GONE.I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MARTINS DODGE IN UNION GROVE TO HAVE THE WORK DONE AGAIN. I DID NOT WANT THE FIRST DEALER TO WORK ON THE CAR ANYMORE. CHRYSLER WANTS ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS FIRST AT MY EXPENSE. THEN THEY WILL REIMBURSE FOR WHAT THEY THINK IS CORRECT. ESTIMATED REPAIRS ARE OVER $900. SINCE LAST TIME I ONLY DROVE THE CAR 8,000 MILES. WILL THIS HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN IN ANOTHER FEW MONTHS.
