I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON I95 WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS NOT HANDLING WELL AND WAS MAKING A NOISE. I COULD ALSO FEEL A VIBRATION UNDER MY FEET. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT CENTRAL MAINE MOTORS IN WATERVILLE, MAINE FIRST THING TUESDAY MORNING WHO TOLD ME THE POWER STEERING COOLER WAS LEAKING. IN DOING RESEARCH IF FOUND S08 RECALL ON 2011-2016 DODGE JOURNEYS POWER STEERING COOLERS. MY CAR DOES HAVE A 3.6 L ENGINE AND THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. IN READING THE RECALL AND GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES I COULD HAVE BEEN HURT AS THIS WENT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND DOES IN FACT INCREASE THE CHANCES OF CRASHING.
THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WOULD NOT START ONE DAY. REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALL CONNECTORS INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WILL DRIVE FOR A DAY OR TWO THEN END UP WITH ANOTHER DEAD BATTERY. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS WHEN THE LAST TIME THE BATTERY DIED IT TURNED OFF THE ENGINE WHILE I WAS IN AN INTERSECTION AND WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT.

AFTER A SECONDARY FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT HAD REMAINED IN THE CUSTODY OF THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING WITH NO IMPACT. IT IS SPRING LOADED AND POPPED OUT VERY FAST, IT LOOKS LIKE PLASTIC HOLDING A DOING BACK BROKE CAUSING IT TO RELEASE, COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT
WHILE TRAVELLING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED OPEN. BROKEN CLIPS INSIDE AND WAS OPENED FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
Horn and buttons on steering wheel do not work so guessing that the airbag isn’t going to deploy either.
HEAD ON COLLISION AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN IT WAS RAINING AND THE OTHER CAR WAS GOING STRAIGHT . HE TOOK THE LIGHT ON RED AND WE BOTH HIT HEAD ON . I HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND SIDE WINDOW . AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY HIT MY HEAD PRETTY BAD AND MY BACK AND NECK WERE IN PAIN HAD TO TAKE OFF WORK AND LOST MY ONLY CAR AND JOB . WENT TO THERAPY FOR A WHILE MY CONCERN WAS WHY DIDN'T THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY . THE OTHER CARS AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I HAD AN EYE WITNESS AND POLICE REPORT BUT I STILL LOSS THE BATTLE . STILL PAYING FOR A CAR THAT DOESN'T WORK. PLS IF U CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS IT WILL BE A BIG HELP. I STILL FILL PAIN IN MY NECK FROM THE ACCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND THE SPEED DECREASED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO HER DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS TRANSMISSION RELATED AND A NEW ONE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
MY FAMILY AND I WERE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND UNEXPECTEDLY THE PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED. THANKFULLY, MY SON WAS NOT INJURED FROM THIS. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE FORUMS ON THE INTERNET AND THIS DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS SOME CAN BE INJURED FROM AN UNEXPECTED BLOW TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD.
AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A GROCERY PARKING LOT, I REMEMBER TAKING MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR TO SLOW DOWN AND TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN UP AN ISLE TO GO TO A PARKING SPOT. ONCE MY FOOT CAME OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR, MY CAR DIED, NO BRAKES, AND NO STEERING. THE ELECTRICAL CONTINUED TO WORK AS MY MUSIC WAS STILL PLAYING AND THE FLASHERS WORKED AS WELL. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND PUSHED THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENED. I TRIED A COUPLE MORE TIMES AND THEN MY CAR STARTED BACK UP. I DROVE TO A PARKING SPOT, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON. I DROVE BACK HOME WITH NO ISSUES AND PUT HER IN THE GARAGE. I'M VERY NERVOUS, TO SAY THE LEAST AS I HAVE TO DRIVE TO WORK TOMORROW. I HOPE THIS DOES NOT OCCURS AS I'M DRIVING 55 MPH.

WHEN THE WEATHER TURNED COLD THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. ONE DAY IT WAS FINE AND THE NEXT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN WHEN GOING AT A LOW SPEED OR REVERSING. IT STARTED OUT AS ONLY THE RIGHT TURN WAS DIFFICULT AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO WORK IS BY ACCELERATING. THIS MAKES TURNING DIFFICULT AS WELL AS PARKING. WE CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND IT WAS LOW. ONCE IT WAS FILLED IT DID NOT IMPROVE BUT THE LEFT SIDE THEN BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. IT IS STILL DIFFICULT TO TURN AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
THE PHONE AND BLUETOOTH DO NOT WORK. THE TOUCHSCREEN WILL NOT PROMPT TO THE NEXT SCREEN WHEN YOU PRESS "PHONE" AND IF YOU GO INTO THE SETTINGS MENU, IT DOES NOT REGISTER THAT YOU ARE SELECTING "PHONE/BLUETOOTH." I HAVE TRIED DOING THIS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BOTH MOVING AND STATIONARY.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while depressing the brake pedal, the brakes made an abnormal grinding sound. The contact also stated that the steering wheel was misaligned and would not return to center. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where no brake failure was found, and the steering wheel was aligned; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle lurched and jumped. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure recurred while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that she depressed the accelerator pedal continuously until the vehicle responded. The contact stated that the traction control and the ABS warning lights were illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start when the weather was cold. The contact stated that the failure persisted upon attempting to jumpstart the vehicle and replacing the battery. The contact stated that she was able to restart the vehicle when the weather was warm. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failures to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 15V675000 (Electronic Stability Control, Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and 16V273000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000. The VIN was unavailable.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURES AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE GEAR BOX & DIFFERENTIAL WENT OUT WHEN WE WERE TRYING TO PARK. APPLIED THE GAS PEDAL, FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE, APPLIED THE GAS MORE & HEARD A LOUD 'BOOM.' WE'RE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE PARKED, THEN SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE ENGINE. LOOKED TO FIND OUT THERE WAS GEAR OIL LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. LOOKED ONLINE @ DODGE JOURNEYS & FOUND OUT THERE HAVE BEEN A MULTITUDE OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS. HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME DUE TO BEING UNABLE TO DRIVE IT. THIS HAPPENED OCTOBER 19TH, 2019 & WE'VE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SINCE INCIDENT. OUR DODGE JOURNEY IS A 2015 SXT ALL WHEEL DRIVE WITH ABOUT 120,000 MILES ON IT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A MANUFACTURER RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES!! WE'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S GOING TO COST ANYWHERE FROM $5,000 TO UPWARDS OF $7,000 TO GET THIS ISSUE FIXED AND WE STILL HAVE A VEHICLE LOAN OF $11,000 WE OWE ON IT.
WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR IT DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED THE CAR WILL TURN OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING. CAUSING A DANGEROUS AND SCARY SITUATION AFTER YOU PUT IN PARK AND PRESS THE START BUTTON AMD IT WILL TURN BACK ON. HAPPENED ON 10/ 07/18 THE FIRST TIME REPLACED CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 10/18/19. I NOTICED JOURNEYS HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON ALMOST ALL YEARS MODELS AND I WAS GOING THROUGH THE RECALS AND INOTICED THAT A MAJORITY OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN OR HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ABOUT THIS SENSOR. EVEN THOUGH DODGE IS ONLY RECALLING 2016 JOURNEYS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. I THINK DODGE SHOULD DO A RECALL FOR ALL OF THE YEARS FOR DODGE JOURNEYS OVER THOS PROBLEM AND ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR THE CAR TO JUST TURN OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THAT BEING A FAMILY CAR THAT COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
THE SWITCH ON MY CRUISE CONTROL WENT OUT ON MY 2015 CROSSROAD DODGE JOURNEY ONLY 39000 MILES ON IT
THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT COME ONE OR DISPLAY THAT IS IS ACTIVE
MY AC WILL UNSYNC ITSELF AND WHEN I HIT SYNC IT UNSYNC AGAIN. ALSO IF I TURN IT OFF IT WILL TURN IT BACK ON. I DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON BUT I SEE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. I AM SCARED BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS
I PUT THE CATEGORY AS "UNKNOWN" BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT EXACTLY IT FALLS UNDER BESIDES STUPIDITY. MY CAR BEGAN OVER HEATING LAST WEEK. THAT WAS FRUSTRATING ON TOP OF ALL OF THE OTHER PROBLEMS INCLUDING THE CONSTANT JERKING FROM THE CRAP ABS SYSTEM. I PUT RADIATOR FLUID IN AND 2 DAYS LATER, IT BEGAN SMOKING LIKE CRAZY. AT LEAST, WHAT I THOUGHT WAS SMOKE. APPARENTLY WHAT IT ACTUALLY WAS, WAS THE T SHAPED HOUSE THAT LEADS TO THE RADIATOR AND IS RUN RIGHT ALONG SIDE THE HEATING COIL IS MADE OF PLASTIC. THE HEATING COIL HAD MELTED A HOLE IN IT, CAUSING THE RADIATOR FLUID TO SPRAY ON EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD. WE GO AND FIX THAT, BY THE WAY, $80 FOR A 5 INCH PIECE OF HOSE IS INSANE, AND COME BACK, CAR WORKS FOR 2 DAYS AND DIES. BATTERY IS DEAD. TAKE THE BATTERY OFF AND GO REPLACE IT, GET IT ON THE CAR, START IT, BOOM, STARTER GOES OUT. ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER. I'M TAKING IT TO TRADE IN AND WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DODGE. THERE WAS NO RISK IN THAT ANYWAY AFTER THE DEALERSHIP NEVER WANTING TO HONOR A SINGLE WARRANTY DETAIL EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY "GROUND UP".
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER WINDOWS. THERE IS A CLICKING SOUND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN. IT ROLLS DOWN SOMETIMES. AFTER THAT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW WEEKS, MY CAR CUT OFF. I RECEIVED A JUMP THROUGH MY INSURANCE. TODAY, MY CAR GOT JUMPED AND CUT OFF TWICE. THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. I WENT ONLINE AND I FOUND THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES WITH DODGE, CHRYSLER, AND FIAT. EACH TIME MY CAR DIDN'T RESTART, IT WAS AFTER I PARKED AND CAME BACK TO IT. TODAY, IT'S BEING TOWED.

THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT HEADREST AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY MOVEMENT, ACCIDENTS OR FORCE.

WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE SPEED WOULD NOT EXCEED 20 MPH; HOWEVER, THE RPMS REVVED HIGHLY. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
MY 2015 DODGE JOURNEY HEADREST EXPLODED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. WANT TO BRING IT IN BUT SEEING THAT ITS NOT A RECALL.

THE DRIVERSEAT DEPLOYED WHILE RETURNING THE SEAT BACK TO AN UPRIGHT POSITION IN CAN NO LONGER BE RETAINED. THE RETAINING PINS APPEAR TO BE COMPLETELY BROKEN REQUIRING A NEW HEADREST. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED UNNECESSARY DIFFICULTY WHILE DRIVING AND EXTREME DISCOMFORT TO THE DRIVER.

ALSO, WHILE SWITCHING THE TRANSMISSION TO THE DRIVE POSITION, A LOUD NOISE WAS PRESENT COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPE CORAL CHRYSLER (2200 NE PINE ISLAND, CAPE CORAL, FL) WHERE THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AND SLOWING DOWN TO APPROACH A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF A SECOND VEHICLE. DURING THE CRASH, THE DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 64687641. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A RE-OCCURRING ENGINE LIGHT FOR CODE FOR THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. THE CODE IS P0441. NOT ONLY HAS THIS CODE BEEN A NUISANCE IT IS ALSO CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. I BELIEVE THE EMISSION SYSTEM IS PURGING THE FUEL VAPORS AT THE WRONG TIME. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERS FOR SERVICE FOR A TOTAL OF 7 SEPARATE VISITS. THE ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME BACK ON AND ONCE THAT HAPPENS THE VEHICLE WILL STALL RANDOMLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS. ONE STALL WAS SPECIFICALLY TURNING A CORNER AT SLOW SPEEDS. ANOTHER STALL OCCURRED IN PARKING LOT MANEUVERS. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS VEHICLE WITH THIS CODE AND IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.

SOMETIMES IT TAKE ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND IT WILL RESTART BUT WILL ONLY RUN FOR ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES. WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR, WE PRESS THE BRAKE AND THEN THE START BUTTON AND THE CAR VIOLENTLY JERKS AS IT TRIES TO START, BUT WILL NOT TURN OVER. IT HAS HAPPENED SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR MARCH 2019 BUT THE DEALERSHIP WONT TAKE THE CAR BACK OR TRADE IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
