WENT TO GET IN CAR DIDN'T OPEN, HAD TO USE THE KEY, TRIED TO START THE CAR IT DIDN'T ,HAD TO USE THE KEY, PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AS WE WERE BACKING UP AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR WENT FORWARD AND RAN INTO A CONCRETE PILLAR IN A PARKING GARAGE, THE CAR WAS PARKED
I HAVE HAD 3 INCIDENTS, WITH THE LATEST ON 12/23 WHEN DURING A RAPID BREAKING TO AVOID COLLISION AS A VEHICLE DID ILLEGAL LANE CHANGE IN FRONT OF ME, MY WALLET, WHICH I HAD ON TOP OF THE MIDDLE COMPARTMENT, PUSHED THE CLUTCH AND CHANGED THE GEAR TO REVERSE AND MY CAR WENT BACKWARDS ALMOST COLLIDING WITH A VEHICLE BEHIND ME. ON OTHER INCIDENT ON THANKSGIVING DAY IN 2017 I WAS MAKING AN U-TURN WHEN I HAD TO BREAK FOR A CAR WHICH TURNED RIGHT SHARPLY AND MY SMALL PURSE FLEW AND SWITCH THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL AND I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AND TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF INCOMING TRAFFIC AND COULDN'T UNDERSTAND RIGHT AWAY THAT THE CAR'S GEAR HAS BEEN PUSHED TO NEUTRAL AND THAT'S IS WHY I COULDN'T MOVE THE VEHICLE. THE CLUTCH HAS NO LOCK BUTTON AND WHEN PUSHED WITH EVEN TWO FINGERS IT SWITCHES THE GEARS, SO ANY SMALL OBJECT DURING A QUICK OR SADDEN BREAKING CAN CAUSE THE GEAR TO SWITCH TO REVERSE OR NEUTRAL.
CRUISE CONTROL STICKS WHEN USING IT ON THE HIGHWAY AND I HAVE TO PRESS THE CANCEL BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES TO TAKE IT OFF WHILE OTHER TIMES THE CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK AT ALL.
I WAS IN PARK WAITING FOR A SPOT TO OPEN UP IN A SCHOOL PARKING LOT, TOOK MY VEHICLE OUT OF PARK AND PROCEEDED TO PUT IN DRIVE AND MOVE 20 FEET OR SO TO THE PARKING SPOT, AS I WAS TURNING INTO THE SPOT I ENGAGED THE BRAKE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT MY PEDAL DID NOT WORK, IT DID NOT SPRING BACK LIKE IT IS SUPPOSE TO AND MY VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND A CONCRETE PARKING PILLAR STOPPED MY VEHICLE FOR ME. I THREW IT INTO PARK AND JUMPED OUT BECAUSE SMOKE WAS POURING FROM MY HOOD TO SEE THE DAMAGE AND WHEN I JUMPED BACK IN TO THE CAR TO SHUT IT OFF I REALIZED MY CAR WASN'T RUNNING AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ACROSS THE DASH. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE BRAKE PEDAL PUMPED LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. $6,000.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE LATER AND STILL BEING WORKED ON AND NO ANSWERS TO WHY MY BRAKES FAILED ME.
THE MAIN SCREEN FOR UCONNECT WENT DARK AFTER TURNING ON THE CAR (PARKED). NO RADIO, NO A/C CONTROL, NOTHING IN THE CENTER CONSOLE WOULD WORK. WE LIVE IN FL AND NO A/C IS A BIG PROBLEM, SPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE A TODDLER AND A BABY. I WENT TO MY DESTINATION WITH THE DEAD CONSOLE. I WENT BACK IN THE CAR, THIS TIME EVERYTHING WAS OK. I CALLED FCA AND THEIR ANSWER WAS "GO TO A DEALER AND PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WE'LL REFUND YOU" I DON'T THINK THAT IS CORRECT WHEN WE ARE ON WARRANTY AND WHEN THEY KNOW THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. I FOUND SEVERAL CASES OF PEOPLE GOING THRU THE SAME, THEY SUGGEST REBOOT, FACTORY RESET AND OTHER NON-SENSE. CHECK THIS VIDEO (LINK) AND YOU HAVE EVIDENCE OF SEVERAL PROBLEM WITH THIS SYSTEM. JUST LEFT MY DRIVE WAY NOT FROM FROM IT ABOUT TO TURN ON ANOTHER ROAD WHEN MY CAR STEERING WENT OUT THE DASH WAS FROZE AND WHEN I WENT TO USE THE BRAKES I COULDN'T. I WAS GLAD I WAS ONLY GOING 13MPH AND DIDN'T HAVE TO TURN AND NO ONE WAS AROUND ME. MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME WE ROLLED TO A SLOW STOP. I THEN TURNED THE PUSH BUTTON OFF THEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT ACTED FINE. THAT'S IS DANGEROUS. IT COULD HAVE ENDED BADLY. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND NOW I DON'T EVEN WANT IT ANYMORE. TO SCARED TO DRIVE IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING 70-75 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO WHAT WAS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V332000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,600.
THE TRANSMISSION TAKE OFF BUT IT HAS SLUGGISH IN THE TRANSMISSION,AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN THE CVT SEEN LIKE IT NOT CORRESPONDING WITH IT PARTS OF CHANGING. I'M ASSUMING ALL THE 2017 DODGE JOURNEY HAS THAT PROBLEM BUT NOT REPORTED.. MY DODGE JOURNEY SXT V6 THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE 2017 DODGE JOURNEY SXT V6 NEEDS TO LOOK AT FOR SERVICE FOR MAJOR PROBLEM OCCURRED IN THE FUTURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 100 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL AND DROVE HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO YAKIMA CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE/RAM (2300 GOODMAN ROAD, UNION GAP, WA 98903) WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE INCORRECT CODE WAS ENTERED WHEN THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,063.
WHILE DRIVING AT APROX 25 MPH ON A SLIGHT BEND IN THE ROAD AND SLIGHTLY ACCELERATING, I REALIZED MY ENGINE HAD DIED WHEN IT STOPPED ACCELERATING. ELECTRICAL WAS STILL WORKING, BUT THE ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURN ON MY HAZARDS, AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I WAITED ABOUT 20 SECONDS, THEN ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE ENGINE BACK ON. THE ENGINE STARTED WITH NO TROUBLE AND WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENCE.
MY DODGE JOURNEY 2017 HAS A STEERING PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE MARKET WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL STIFFED UP WHEN I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT. IT WAS VERY HARD TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND THEN I TRY TO MAKE IT GO STRAIGHT AND IT WAS HARD TO EVEN IT OUT, AS WELL AS TRYING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN.
THE CAR HAS 35,095 MILES ON IT AND MAKES A GRINDING NOISE WHEN IT'S SLOWING DOWN FROM SPEEDS OF 25 MPH TO 35 MPH AND COMES TO A SHAKY STOP. THEN WHEN AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH PLUS IT SHAKES AND GRINDES EVEN LOUDER. I SEE THAT IT'S A RESCUE RING ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC WAS INCREASING BUT AFTER STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR SEVERAL TIMES I DISCOVERED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RESPONDING. THE ENGINE HAD DIED WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED. I LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. ONCE I GOT THE VEHICLE STOPPED I PUT IT IN PARK, STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND PUSHED THE IGNITION BUTTON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT SIX MONTHS OLD WITH AROUND 10,000 MILES. THE NEXT MORNING WE TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT BECAUSE THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR CODES DISPLAYED THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO.
IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE SINCE I GOT THE CAR THAT I WAS UNABLE TO BUCKLE UP. THE SEAT BELT WAS LOCKED AND I COULD NOT PULL IT SO THAT I COULD BUCKLE MYSELF ... KIND OF SCARY WHEN YOUR DRIVING WITHOUT A SEAT BELT. I TRIED OPENING THE DOOR CLOSING IT TURNING ON AND OFF THE CAR PUTTING IT IN PARK ETC IN DIFFERENT PATTERNS NOTHING WORKED ... I HAD NO CHOICE I HAD TO DRIVE TO PICK UP MY KIDS AFTER LEAVING WORK
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A 55 MILE PER HOUR HIGHWAY AND GETTING READY TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO A NARROW BRIDGE. WE SLOW DOWN BEFORE MAKING THE TURN AND AS WE PROCEEDED THE CAR SHUT DOWN LOSING CONTROL OF BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. WE WERE ABLE TO PULL WHEEL ENOUGH FROM GOING OFF THE BRIDGE. WE WERE ABLE TO START IT RIGHT BACKUP AFTER WE GOT CONTROL AND CAME TO A STOP, BUT IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST SCARY EXPERIENCES EVER WITH A VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY MADE APPT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT BY DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING TO HELP US. THEY STATED THAT DODGE IS AWARE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN ON A TURN IN TEMPERATURES ABOVE 105. THAT DAY THE HEIGHT WAS ONLY 99.WE DID HAVE THE NEWEST UPDATED SOFTWARE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE DIRECTLY AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER THEY CAN DO SO NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS TO PRETTY MUCH CALL THEM AND SET UP APPT. WITH DEALER. I AM SO IRRITATED WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION THAT NOW WE JUST HAVE TO HOPE WE DON'T WRECK IT NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. WE TRY NOT TO DRIVE IT AT ALL AS WE HAVE 3 SMALL CHILDREN. REALLY HOPE DODGE FIGURES SOMETHING OUT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAFFORD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT OF SPRINGFIELD (LOCATED AT 7611 LOISDALE RD, SPRINGFIELD, VA 22150, (703) 866-1700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FIVE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,696.
WE PURCHASED A LEASE 2017 DODGE JOURNEY GT ON 1/10/2018. I CURRENTLY HAVE APPROX. 4300 MILES ON IT. WE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL RECALL TAKEN CARE OF, AT A DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 11, 2018. THE FIRST TIME I USED THE CRUISE CONTROL AFTER GETTING THE RECALL DONE, I WAS GOING 72MPH ON MY WAY TO WORK AND MY ENTIRE CAR SHUT DOWN. NO STEERING, NO BRAKES, NO RADIO, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH WERE ON, BUT NOTHING ELSE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE CAR WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR APPROX. 2-3 MIN, AFTER THAT AMOUNT OF TIME, I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN, BUT DID NOT DRIVE IT. I CALLED MY HUSBAND TO BRING ME HIS VEHICLE SO I COULD GO TO WORK. HE DROVE IT HOME AND SAID THERE WERE NO ISSUES, BUT HE DIDN'T USE THE CRUISE. ON JUNE 18, 2018, THE DAY AFTER IT HAPPENED. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 6 HRS, DROVE 27 MILES AND FOUND NOTHING. ON JULY 5,2018 I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AT APPROX 11PM, I WAS DRIVING ON OUR LOCAL TURNPIKE AND HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 72. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT KEEP SPEED, IT KEPT GOING DOWN TO 65MPH THEN WOULD REV 6-7RPM AND GET BACK UP TO 72. ONCE I TURNED THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF, THE VEHICLE KEPT TRYING TO SPEED UP ON ITS OWN. I WAS ABLE TO KEEP IT FROM SPEEDING UP BY APPLYING THE BRAKE AS I WAS DRIVING. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE SO, WE TRY AND USE OUR OTHER VEHICLE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE BUT, WE BOTH WORK 50-56HRS A WEEK. THIS VEHICLE IS AND HAS A SAFETY ISSUE THE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY DRIVING, THE HEAT, THE COLD OR ANYTHING, THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DICK SCOTT CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (684 W ANN ARBOR ROAD, PLYMOUTH, MICHIGAN 48170) FOR A TRANSMISSION LEAK AND MISSING GASKETS IN THE DRIVE SHAFT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED OVER THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,543.
SITTING OR DRIVING AC NOT COOLING SITTING OR DRIVING GAS LEVEL DRASTICALLY DROPPING TO ZERO THEN SPIKE MTE, TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND NOT DUPLICATED. DROVE THIS MORNING AND MTE SPIKED AND ZEROED OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. TRANSMISSION SHIFTING HARD AND GRINDING NOISES OVERALL ELECTRICAL ISSUES BASED ON DEALERSHIP EXPLANATION AND ISSUES COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. CAR STILL EXPERIENCING ISSUES OF THE FOLLOWING EVEN AFTER UPDATE PER DEALERSHIP: TRANSMISSION FUEL ELECTRICAL AIR CONDITIONING ONGOING ISSUES, NO RESOUTION
ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASING THE 2017 DODGE JOURNEY THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED DODGE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED US THAT THE AIRBAG WIREING HARNESS LOCATED UNDER THE DRIVERS FRONT SEAT WAS FAULTY. THE TOLD US THE AIRVAGWIREING HARNESS IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY AND THAT THE NEW REPLACEMENT AIRBAG WIREING HARNESS WOULD COST AROUND $800. THE AIRBAG LIGHT STILL GOES ON & OFF RANDOMLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS BEING DRIVEN STRAIGHT OR ON CURVES OR TURNING. IT JUST RANDOMLY COMES ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN.
THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING TO SHIFT. IT SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD AND THE REVERSE TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO KICK IN OR IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT AT ALL. THERE IS A STRANGE BURNING SMELL AFTER GOING UP A HILL. MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR IS ALREADY ON AND THERE IS ONLY 13000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED IT IN JANUARY AND IT'S ONLY MAY. I HAVE THE SHIFTING ISSUES WHILE DRIVING. WHEN IT DOES SHIFT IT'S A SHARP JERK. IT'S A CONSTANT PROBLEM. I NO LONGER WANT THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE MAKES A TICKING NOISE WHILE PLAYING THE RADIO AND OR DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND GOING OVER 60 MPH. THERE IS ALSO LOUD BANGING NOISE ON THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SEAT AS IF AIR OR SOMETHING IS HITTING THE VEHICLE. TIRED DON'T HOLD PRESSURE AND DRIVING AT TIMES SEEMS UNEVEN OR OFF TRACK AS WELL.
I JUST BECAME AWARE THAT A RECALL WAS MADE FOR MY VEHICLE, A 2017 DODGE JOURNEY. LAST YEAR I HAD AN ACCIDENT IN NORRISTOWN, PA AFTER MY CAR FAILED TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT WITH CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED ON A CITY STREET. MY VEHICLE WENT UP A HILL, OVER A COUPLE OF FENCES, BEFORE STOPPING AGAINST A TREE. A FEW INCHES FURTHER RIGHT AND MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER MIGHT HAVE BEEN BADLY HURT OR KILLED. MY CAR HAD BODY DAMAGE, THE BUMPER TORN OFF, THE PASSENGER DOORS DAMAGED, THE RADIATOR AND AC DAMAGED (AC STILL DOESN'T WORK), AND I NEEDED TO HAVE THE CONDENSER REPLACED. I KNEW THE CAR HAD MALFUNCTIONED, BUT NEVER RECEIVED ANY CALLS OR LETTERS ABOUT ANY RECALLS DESPITE BUYING THE CAR BRAND NEW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE'S BLUETOOTH FAILED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. UPON REACHING HIS DESTINATION, THE CONTACT PARKED, TURNED OFF, AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE SEVERAL HOURS LATER, IT FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE RESTARTED USING BATTERY BOOSTER CABLES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE WEEKS LATER. THIS IS THE SECOND DODGE JOURNEY NOW THAT I HAVE OWNED AND BOTH OF THEM HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE BACK TAIL LIGHTS AS WELL AS THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS LEFT TAIL LIGHT AND BOTH OF MY VEHICLES. ALSO WITH MY SECOND DODGE JOURNEY WITH BOTH OF THE CARS I HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AS WELL AND I ALSO HAVE AIRBAG WARNING ALWAYS GOING OFF OF MY CARD WHEN I MAKE TURNS. SO WHAT THE TRANSMISSION IT SPIDERS AS YOU ARE DRIVING I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND IT SAID THAT THERE IS THREE RECALLS BUT FOR SOME REASON ON YOUR WEBSITE IT SHOWS NO RECALLS ALSO WHAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS IN THE REAR ONLY I PUT IT AT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND ALL SUDDEN THEY TURN ON BY THEMSELVES AND THEY'LL STAY ON AND DON'T WANT TO TURN OFF UNTIL IT FEELS LIKE TURNING OFF BUT MY LEFT TAIL LIGHT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE NOW FOR TWO YEARS AND I'VE HAD TO SWITCH ABOUT 12 LIGHTS AND NOW TO WHERE NONE WILL NOT WORK AT ALL AND FOR THE AIRBAG WARNING SYSTEM NO ONE WILL BE SITTING IN MY PASSENGER SEAT AND WHEN I'M MAKING A TURN ALL OF SUDDEN MY AIRBAG ALARM WILL BE GOING OFF.
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT WHEN THE VEHICLE 2 CARS AHEAD OF ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES AT A GREEN LIGHT. I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME GOING APPROXIMATELY 45MPH HEAD ON, CAUSING MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE. NEITHER OF THE FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS TOTALED.
THIS WAS A RENTAL CAR FROM AVIS. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX 70MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES, ALL DIAL INSTRUMENTS WENT TO ZERO AND ALL THE ELECTRONIC ALERTS (OIL, OVER HEAT, TIRE PRESSURE, ETC) ANNUNCIATED. THE THROTTLE REMAINED LOCKED AT THE CRUISE SETTING AND WOULD NOT DISENGAGE WITH ACTIVATION OF THE BRAKES OR CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON. I WAS ABLE TO OVER POWER THE ENGINE WITH THE BRAKES AND GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT WAS STILL RUNNING AT AN ENGINE SPEED TO SUPPORT 70MPH AND FIGHTING THE BRAKES. THE PUSH TO START/STOP ENGINE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK. I EVENTUALLY GOT THE CAR INTO JUST RAP AND THEN PARK. AT THIS TIME, IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. A WEAKER PERSON WOULD MOST CERTAINLY BEEN INVOLVED IN A BAD ACCIDENT. I WAS CONCERNED THE CAR WOULD CATCH ON FIRE AS THE BRAKES SMOKED SIGNIFICANTLY. [XXX] [XXX]. I NOTICED A VIBRATION/HESITATION AROUND 40MPH AND TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL PISCHKE SHOP AND THEY PERFORMED A REPROGRAMMING OF THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE TO THE LATEST SOFTWARE. UNFORTUNATELY THAT REPROGRAMMING DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND I WAS TOLD TO REACH OUT TO CHRYSLER DIRECTLY. *TT *TR
DURING USE OF THE VEHICLE, WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, THE "GAS CAP LIGHT" WILL COME ON FOLLOWED BY "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT". WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CODE P0456 WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO ACT INDIFFERENT, IT IS STILL DRIVABLE, BUT CAN CAUSE OTHER COMPONENTS TO SHOW A FALSE READING. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS, AND EVERY TIME WE GO TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL DISAPPEAR. WE HAVE CHECKED THE GAS CAP, AND THIS VEHICLE IS UNDER 17,000 MILES. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH DODGE, JEEP, AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES, AND THIS SHOULD BE HANDLED BY THE MANUFACTURER. WHILE HAVING MY CRUISE CONTROL ON I PASSED A SEMI GOING UPHILL. AS SOON AS I GOT AROUND IT AND BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE IT LOST SPEED SIGNIFICANTLY. I PULLED ONTO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED. AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS I PULLED BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND BUILT UP MY SPEED AGAIN. ABOUT 10-20 MINUTES LATER THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE PASSING ANYMORE VEHICLES. I CONTINUED ON HOME WHICH WAS 2 1/2 HOURS AWAY. JUST 1 MILE BEFORE GETTING HOME MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ALL THIS HAPPENED ON SUNDAY JULY 22 ABOUT 1 PM. WE HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS DODGE ON JULY 17, 2017. MONDAY I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN I LOOKED UP ANY RECALLS IT DOESN'T SHOW ANY. IS MY DEALER LYING TO ME? ARE THEY HIDING SOMETHING I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

Severe shaking at 60mph and above. Numerous attempts to correct the issue through dealership, private mechanics with balancing and high speed balancing did not correct the issue. It was determined through several mechanics that the ABS Module is no longer working and could contribute to the shaking of the vehicle. The dealership advised the manufacturer does not make these parts anymore. I tried purchasing a rebuilt ABS and it did not work as it was not compatible with my VIN. This is the second Dodge Journey I have owned and both have had the shaking issue. My automatic braking system and cruise control will no longer work as a result of the ABS failure, which makes this very dangerous to drive. I only have around 90,000 miles on this car and planned to keep it long term, but finding that I cannot get parts. I have also always had many problems with the fuel system. The light goes on all the time for the fuel cap even when it is on. The dealership advised it is the closure for the fuel tank that keeps having an issue. I smell fuel inside my car as soon as I turn it off after driving.
