I STARTED A COMPLAINT BEFORE AND THE REF NUMBER IS 10995543 BUT MORE HAS HAPPENED SINCE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS WERE MY CAR WOULD ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND NOT STOP. I LOST ALL CONTROL AND IT WAS LIKE THE CAR HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. THE CAR THEN WOULD STALL IN MIDDLE OF ROADS, INTERSECTIONS, ECT, I WAS ALMOST HIT HEAD ON BY A CONSTRUCTION TRUCK ONE TIME LAST YEAR CAUSE THE CAR ACCELERATED WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET, THE CAR JUST ACCELERATED, AND WOULDNT STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK. THE STEERING AND EVERYTHING SEIZED UP AND THEN THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN. A RED LIGHTNING BOLT POPPED UP ON THE DASH RIGHT BEFORE IT DIED. THIS HAPPENED ONCE IN 2015, ONCE IN 2016, AND TWICE IN 2017. I WAS TOLD OVER AND OVER BY ED SHULTS OF JAMESTOWN THAT IT IS NOT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THEN I FILED A REPORT IN JUNE OF 2017 CAUSE IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND AGAIN THEY JUST CHARGED ME AND SAID IT WASNT ELECTRICAL. NOW YESTERDAY 9/27/2017 THE VEHICLE DID IT AGAIN SO I CALLED ED SHULTS AND THEY WANTED ME TO PAY A DAIGNOSIS FEE AGAIN AND TO PAY TO HAVE IT TOWED 45 MILES AWAY, SO I SENT IT TO DAVE WARREN IN JAMESTOWN NY INSTEAD AND HE IS A DODGE DEALER, AND THEY INFORMED ME TODAY THAT IT IS ELECTRICAL. I AM SO UPSET BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE HAS ALMOST KILLED ME, ITS UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE WARRANTY DOESNT SEEM TO COVER MUCH OF ANYTHING OR EVEN THE DIAGNOSIS, AND I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE THAT IS COSTING SO MUCH IN REPAIRS. PLEASE HELP.
FOUND AN ISSUE WITH THE INTERNAL CHECK VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK & FILLER NECK THE EVAP SYSTEM IS OPERATING CORRECTLY & NOT RESTRICTING THE FILLING & VENT SYSTEM RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE FUEL TANK, FUEL FILLER NECK & GAS CAP
TIPM ISSUES. CAUSING HORN TO GO OFF WHILE STATIONARY AND DRIVING. CAUSING CAR TO NOT START WHILE STATIONARY. AND CAUSING ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS, WIPERS AND MORE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE NITRO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE HORN INDEPENDENTLY ENGAGED. ALSO, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO DEACTIVATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAC HAIK DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (11000 NORTH FREEWAY, HOUSTON, TX 77037, (281) 447-9500), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PRESSURE PLATE IN THE AIR BAG AREA WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000.
MY 2011 DODGE SEEMS TO HAVE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I AM UNABLE TO USE THE DEFROST, OR AIR. EACH TIME I TURN IT ON THE ENGINE BEGINS TO RUN HOT. ALSO MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON WHEN I START MY ENGINE, BUT THEY WERE NOT ENGAGED. THIS HAPPENS WEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON AND STATIONARY AS WELL AS WHEN IN MOTION.
WIPERS STOPPED WORKING 12/20/16. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE WIPER MOTOR AND IT WAS $300.00 TO REPAIR. WHEN THE WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT DIDN'T WORK WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE TIPM AND NO RECALLS HOWEVER PREVIOUS YEARS PRIOR THERE WHERE RECALLS. THE TIPM IS GOING TO COST $936.00 PLUS THE REPAIR COST LOOKING AT ROUGH ESTIMATE OF $1,500. IT'S FORTUNATE I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT DRIVING IN A RAIN OR SNOW STORM. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR A WEEK, A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE GETTING BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. NOT SURE HOW AN INVESTIGATION WAS CLOSED AND DENIED THAT THERE WERE ANY SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE TIPM ON THE 2011 MODEL. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THE TIPM. *TR
SINCE LAST WEEK, RANDOMLY WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION OR SITTING AT IDLE, IT WILL CHIME WITH A WARNING. ALL MY WARNING LIGHTS FLASH, ALL MY GAUGES STOP WORKING EXCEPT VEHICLE TEMP, MY ODOMETER READS "NO BUS". THE WIPERS BEGIN TO GO CRAZY ON THEIR OWN AND I LOSE OPERATION OF MY BLINKERS AND HIGH BEAMS AS WELL AS FOG LIGHTS AND CONTROL OF WIPERS. MAIN HEADLIGHTS JUST STAY ON. THE VEHICLE STILL RUNS AND DRIVES BUT THE GAUGES JUST SOUND LIKE EVERYTHING IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO RESET. THIS LASTS ANYWHERE FROM A MINUTE TO 20 MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL AND THEN RANDOMLY IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I DROVE FROM CHARLESTON WV TO LA PLATA MD AND THIS INSTANCE OCCURRED 9 TIMES IN THAT 6 HOUR DRIVE. IT WAS COMPLETELY RANDOM AND LASTED RANDOM AMOUNTS OF TIME. NO BUMPS OR TURNS TRIGGERED IT. IT DIDN'T FAVOR HAPPENING GOING UP OR DOWN MOUNTAINS, JUST WHENEVER IT DECIDED TO GLITCH OUT. SO AT ANY GIVEN POINT DURING MY DRIVE, I'D LOSE CAPABILITIES TO USE MY BLINKERS AND HIGH BEAMS, LET ALONE KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING AND HOW MUCH FUEL I HAD LEFT....IT WAS VERY NERVE-WRACKING. FROM MY RESEARCH WITH THESE SYMPTOMS, IT POINTS TO THE TIPM. THIS CONCERNS ME AS MULTIPLE OTHER CHRYSLER, JEEP AND DODGE VEHICLES HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THE TIPM FOR THIS AND FUEL PUMP RELAY ISSUES. BUT MY VEHICLE WASN'T LISTED. I FEEL LOSS OF BLINKERS, SPEED AND FUEL GAUGES, AND PROPER USE OF MY HIGH BEAMS/FOG LIGHTS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. IF I CAN BE PULLED OVER NOT USING A BLINKER BUT CANNOT USE IT DUE TO THIS ISSUE AT RANDOM TIMES...THAT SHOULD DRIVE A SAFETY RECALL.
When fueling the vehicle gas will spew out after the pump has shut off. I've tried many different things to try and stop this issue. If I fill the tank very slowly it will sometimes not spew or it may cut down on the amount spewed, but it has not made the issue stop. This really is dangerous and ridiculous. From my online research into the issue, it appears to be common with this vehicle. Although an easy, definitive reason was not given. Please address this. Thank you.
FUEL OVERFLOWS WHEN FILLING UP. THIS HAPPENS AT EVERY PUMP, SO OBVIOUSLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SHUT-OFF IN THE VEHICLE'S GAS TANK. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE POSTS ONLINE FROM PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IN THEIR DODGE NITROS. VEHICLE IS OBVIOUSLY STATIONARY WHEN FILLING UP.
TOTAL TIPM FAILURE! AFTER AT LEAST A DOZEN INCIDENTS OF THE FACTORY ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM SOUNDING (AT REST IN MY DRIVEWAY, DRIVING IN TRAFFIC), AND SEVERAL TRIPS TO JIM BROWNE CITRUS CHRYSLER/DODGE/JEEP IN DADE CITY, FL WHERE IT WAS UN OR MIS-DIAGNOSED I WAS CHARGED FOR EVERY DIME OF UNNEEDED PARTS AND LABOR WHICH I PAID. THE ONLY OPTION I HAD WAS TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY TO STOP THE BLARING AND THE LIGHT SHOW THROUGHOUT MY CAR. THE FINAL TIME, THE TIPM WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM HAS STOPPED. IT WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY DOOR SENSOR. I PERSONALLY CHECKED AND CLEANED ALL DOOR CONTACT SENSORS BEFORE TAKING IT IN SO I KNEW THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. JIM BROWNE WAS CLUELESS! (SHADE TREE MECHANIC / PARTS CHANGERS). TO MAKE THE INSULT EVEN WORSE, I CAUGHT THEM RED-HANDED CHARGING ME FOR WORK WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER MY FACTORY AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTIES! THE SERVICE MANAGER DOWNFACED ME AND NICELY CALLED ME A LIAR EVEN THOUGH I PROVIDED THEM COPIES OF MY EXTENDED WARRANTY TO STAPLE TO MY CUSTOMER FILE SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THEY RELENTED AND CREDITED ME BACK "SOME" OF THE MONEY THAT WAS UNRIGHTFULLY STOLEN BUT I AM CERTAIN IT IS NOT ALL. I PAID OUT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF $4000.00 AND LOST USE OF MY NITRO SOMETIMES FOR A WEEK AT A TIME WHILE IT JUST SAT IN THEIR YARD & THEY WAITED TO HEAR THE HORN BLARE (WHICH THEY SAY IT NEVER DID). I AM STILL OUT WELL OVER $1K FOR THE TIPM & LABOR CHARGES (OUTRAGEOUS) AND NO RECALL FROM DODGE ON THIS. WHAT IS DODGE WAITING FOR??? THIS IS NOT A SINGULAR PROBLEM, IT'S MASSIVE. NO REPORT WAS FILED FOR ME. I JUST HAPPENED UPON THIS SITE AFTER I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO FIX EVERYTHING. I REFUSE TO BUY FOREIGN GARBAGE BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT I WILL EVER BUY CHRYS/DODGE/JEEP AGAIN. I HAVE PLENTY OF DOCUMENTATION AS DOES THE DEALER'S REPAIR SHOP BUT I'M NOT GOING TO SCAN AND UPLOAD A REAM OF FILES FOR NOTHING UNLESS REQUESTED. (LIMIT 5 FILES, LOL)
TAKATA RECALL , THE AIR BAG LIGHT TURNED AND STILL ON AND OFF AND MADE A WHISTLE. I CHANGED THE GAS CAP 2 TIMES AND PERSIST TO TURN ON AN ADVISE ON PANEL IN THE DASH.
FOR SEVERAL DAYS IT TURNS ON THE DASH LIGHT AIRBAG AND INTERMITTENTLY THE ALERT SOUNDS INDICATING THE PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG, WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, ACROSS THE STREET OR IN THE ROAD.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V282000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REPAIR SOLUTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE WIND SHIELD WIPERS COME ON AND WONT TURN OFF AND NONE OF THE LIGHTING CONTROLS WORK , HIGH BEAM, ON /OFF, DASH CONTROLS... THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
MY VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WILL SHUT OFF OR DENY POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP, IT ALSO WILL INTERMITTENTLY FLASH WARNING SIGNS, AND TURN THE WIPERS ON INDEFINITELY. THE ISSUES HAVE ALL BEEN TRACED BACK TO THE POWER MODULE AND MORE SPECIFICALLY NONSERVICABLE RELAYS. I'VE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER AND NEITHER HAVE AN ETA ON THE PART SHOULD I ORDER ONE. MOSTLY IT HAPPENS WHILE STATIONARY BUT IT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL ON THE HIGHWAY TWICE. IT STATED DOING THIS IN FALL OF 2015 BUT I COULDN'T PROPERLY DIAGNOSIS IT UNTIL MARCH DUE TO IT BEING INTERMITTENT.
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK ERRATIC. THEY WILL NOT SHUT OFF OR WILL NOT TURN ON AT TIMES. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE WIPERS MAY JUST START WORKING WITHOUT BEING TURNED ON. ALSO WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT STARTS TO RAIN THE WIPERS MAY NOT TURN ON AT TIMES.
AFTER REMOTE STARTING MY VEHICLE WHICH WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS REMAINED BRIGHT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A WIRING ERROR IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,500.
AFTER GETTING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE ON JANUARY 4, 2006. MY CAR STOP RUNNING WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AFTER FINDING OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR ENGINE FOR JANUARY 11, 2016. HE TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE HAD BEEN LOCKED UP AFTER CHECKING TO MAKE SURE THIS WAS CORRECT. TO NO AVAIL THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL AND I AM STILL STUCK WITHOUT ADEQUATE TRANSPORTATION. NEED THIS ISSUE RESOLVE SO I CAN GET BACK TO WORK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE NITRO. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL AS IT BECAME VERY LOOSE. THE CONTACT HAD TO STEER THE VEHICLE IN EXCESS TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN POSITION. THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK FRACTURED AND THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE BRAKES INDEPENDENTLY ENGAGED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT FAILED TO DEPRESS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT IT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V315000 (STEERING), BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE NITRO. WHILE IDLING AT A RED LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND A PASSENGER WERE INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
DRIVING ON 2 LANE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO BRAKE HARD AS ANOTHER VEHICLE CUT ME OFF. AS SOON AS I DID (BRAKE) MY SUV SHUT OFF...ALL THE LIGHTS FLASHED ON THE DASH BOARD. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE FLASHERS ON AND HOPED I DIDN'T GET REAR-ENDED. I TRIED 3X TO RESTART MY 2011 DODGE NITRO- IT FINALLY STARTED. I WAS NEAR THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, I PULLED IN, TOLD THEM WHAT JUST HAPPENED. THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND REPORTED 'NO ERRORS'. IT WAS A NEAR MISS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, AND I AM WORRIED IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN AGAIN. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN MY DODGE NITRO. I WAS ALONE, BUT WHAT IF I HAD PASSENGERS, CHILDREN, ETC.? IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU BRAKE HARD AND YOUR VEHICLE JUST SHUTS OFF, WOULDN'T MOVE. THIS IS INCREDIBLE SCARY. SOMEONE OR MORE THAN ONE PERSON IS GOING TO BE KILLED WHEN THEY GET SLAMMED FROM BEHIND AND PUSHED INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE NITRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN PARK, THE AIR CONDITIONER AND HEATER WERE ACTIVATED BUT FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
MY VEHICLE STALLED OUT DUE TO A FAILURE WITH A DEFECTIVE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER MAKING THE REPAIR WIRES LEADING TO THE ALTERNATOR AND WIRES LEADING TO THE PCM WERE FRIED. THE WIRING ISSUE APPEAR TO BE A FIRE HAZARD. MY FIRST CONCERN IS THIS DEFECTIVE PART HAS CAUSED ME ABOUT $2,000 IN REPAIRS FROM REPLACING THE BATTERY, 2 ALTERNATORS AND TOWING. MY SECOND CONCERN IS THAT IN BOTH SITUATIONS THE CAR DIED ON ME IN TRAFFIC ONE ON A SIX LANE ROAD AND ANOTHER TIME ON THE HIGHWAY. I ALSO HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE MOTOR DIED WITH ONLY 30K MILES ON IT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
THE HORN SOUNDS UNEXPECTEDLY AND USUALLY WHEN PARKED OR MOVING SLOWLY THRU PARKING AREAS. NOT ONLY DOES THIS STARTLE THE DRIVER, PEDESTRIANS COULD ATTEMPT TO MOVE AWAY BUT INTO THE VEHICLES PATH. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN INCIDENTS OF THE FRONT DOOR WINDOWS ROLLING DOWN AND THE MOONROOF OPENING AFTER THE VEHILCE HAS BEEN PARKED AND SECURED. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD TO MY WIFE WHO COMMUTES TO WORK AND RELIES ON HER VEHICLE BEENING SECURE WHEN SHE LEAVES AFTER DARK. NOT TO MENTION THE RISK OF BAD WEATHER. THESE ISSUES HAVE OCCURED AT SEVERAL RANDOM INTERVALS AND INTERNET FORUMS DISCUSS THE SAME AND SIMILAR OCCURENCES. THE DATE REFERENCED IS THE MOST CURRENT HORN INCIDENCE HOWEVER MY WIFE CAN'T CHASE DOWN A HORN CIRCUIT TO DISABLE IT AND THE HORN IS A REQUIRED SAFETY DEVICE.
WE WERE ON VACATION IN ST AUGUSTINE FL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION GETTING READY TO TURN AND THE ENGINE JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF FOR NO REASON AT ALL , THANK GOODNESS IT WAS AROUND 11:00 AT NIGHT AND THERE WASN'T MUCH TRAFFIC BECAUSE WE HAD A SEMI TRUCK COMING AT US , LUCKILY IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AND WE GOT OUT OF THE WAY BECAUSE IT COULD HAVE BEEN A HORRIFIC ACCIDENT ! THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE BECAUSE THE DEFECT HAD NOT ORIGINATED FROM THE ENGINE. Airbags: This vehicle has had a recall for a "Ram" emblem being placed over the airbag such that it becomes a projectile in an airbag depleyment. Dodge makes it very difficult to avail of getting it removed. I am not close to the dealership, I am very busy and somewhat disabled. Since the first notice arrived in the mail-- maybe three years ago-- I have returned the notices with a request for them to send a tech to my home and make the repair. I see there has been at least one death due to this obvious flaw, butthey have not cared enough to answer. Why should I take a day so that they can fix this deadly "extra feature" of shrapnel being placed over an explosive? Electrical: This is a serious safety issue that Dodge will not recognize or even discuss. Getting the window back up is a matter of finessing the "up" switch every which way, multiple attempts required (switch has now fallen out). Very distracting, after going through a toll booth after dark and 15 degrees. You can't stop and F with it, you have to do it on the move. It can take as long as five minutes to get it back up (Window now completely disabled). They will do anything to save seventeen cents per car, who cares if it makes it unsafe for the owner. Not Dodge! I wrote to Dodge (no reply), then the MI Attorney General about this, they responded "We have written to this manufacturer twice and have not received a response". Dodge takes no responsibility for their shoddy work. We pay, we die, they keep doing what they do. It disappoints that even the AG's "Consumer Protection Division" has no teeth. Visibility: It would be interesting to learn how many pedestrians have been hit with this particular model. With all the safety regs out there, it's amazing that a design that blocks visibility gets a pass. Unfortunately it is not the kind of thing you can discover in a test drive, but - crosswalks and four-way stops in particular are dangerous. You can hide a Ryder truck behind these A pillars.

AFTER PUMPING FUEL INTO MY NITRO ABOUT 1\2 -1 GALLON OF GAS COMES SPRAYING OUT OF THE FILLER PIPE. THIS IS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A VALVE IN THE GAS TANK THAT IS THERE TO PREVENT AN EXPLOSION IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT. THE CAR PROBLEMS WERE SOLVED FOR TWO DAYS, THEN AGAIN MY CAR ALARM WENT OFF WHILE LOCKED, THE GATE AJAR WARNING ALSO COMES ON RANDOMLY. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING IT IN ONE LAST TIME, THE DAY BEFORE I BROUGHT IT IN I WAS DRIVING AT 65MPH AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I HAD TO REMOVE THE KEYS AND JUMPSTARTED, THE CAR WAS OKAY UNTIL LATER THAT EVENING WHEN THE DASH COMPUTER STARTED FLASHING RANDOM WARNINGS WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE READ ON SEVERAL FORUMS THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM ON MANY CHRYSLER SUV'S INCLUDING THE JEEP LIBERTY. IT RELATES TO A FAULTY VALVE INSIDE THE GAS TANK TO PREVENT FUEL FROM SPILLING OUT IN A ROLLOVER SITUATION. THE AMOUNT OF FUEL SPILLED AT EVERY FILL UP IS ROUGHLY 1/4 TO 1/2 GALLON. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON IN AND WON'T TURN OFF. IT HAPPENS WHEN I TURN ON VEHICLE AND WONT TURN OFF UNLESS I PULL OUT THE FUSE FOR THEM AND LEAVE THE FUSE OUT FOR WHILE. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND A QUICK FIX TO GET THEM TO WORK AGAIN, UNLESS I DISCONNECT MY BATTERY AND THEN RECONNECT IT. THAT DOESNT ALWAYS FIX THE PROBLEM THOUGH. BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS HAPPEN PERIODICALLY, EVERY SO OFTEN AND AT RANDOM TIMES. IT'S HAPPENED ATLEAST 20 TIMES NOW.
