TAKATA RECALL. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET SERVICE FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL FOR THE PAST YEAR. I'VE CALLED THE FORDS NEARBY AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS. I'M CURRENTLY ON THEIR EMAIL LIST FOR WHEN THE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE IN THE SECOND AND THIRD QUARTERS OF 2018. I RECEIVED THAT LETTER IN MAY 2018. ALSO, I JUST RECEIVED MAIL FROM THE AUTO AIRBAG SETTLEMENT THAT STATED THAT I NEED TO GET THE RECALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I CALLED FORD TODAY NOVEMBER 6, 2018 TO SEE IF THE PARTS HAVE COME IN BUT THEY STILL HAVE NOT. IM NOT SURE IF I NEED TO JUST CONTINUE TO WAIT FOR A LETTER FROM A FORD COMPANY WHEN THE PARTS COME IN OR IF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME RECALL HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN THEIR CARS FIXED AND I HAVEN'T BEEN NOTIFIED.
TAMATA RECALL
WE HAVE HAD 2 FORD EDGES IN 3 YEARS BOTH HAVING THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. OUR FIRST EDGE WAS A 2008, WE HAD IT LESS THAN A YEAR WHEN EVERYTHING WENT WRONG. WHEN IT WOULD RAIN ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WOULD STOP WORKING, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULDN'T WORK, WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 80MPH IT WOULD JUST SUDDENLY QUIT WITHOUT WARNING, IT STARTED HESITATING, DRIVING ROUGH & LOSS ACCELERATION. WHEN WE TOOK IT IN TO GET IT REPAIRED WE WERE TOLD IT WAS IN THE ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER SYSTEM AND WOULD COST AT LEAST $2,000.00 TO FIX AND THEY SAID EVEN ONCE THAT WAS FIXED THEY COULDN'T GUARANTEE THERE WOULDN'T BE MORE WRONG WITH IT SO WE'D BE BETTER OFF TO GET RID OF IT. THEN WE BOUGHT OUR 2007 EDGE THAT WE'VE HAD JUST 2 YEARS AND THE #5 COIL HAD MELTED NEEDED REPLACE BUT AFTER REPLACED IT STILL WAS RUNNING ROUGH, HESITATING NOT ANY BETTER. WE WERE TOLD WE HAD TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER. WE WERE THEN TOLD IT WAS IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM & WOULD COST AT LEAST $2,000.00 IF WE GOT LUCKY AND THE PROBLEM WOULD BE ACTUALLY FIXED. WE DON'T HAVE ANYWHERE NEAR THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED, WE SPENT ALL OUR MONEY BUYING OUR SECOND EDGE AFTER OUR FIRST ONE WENT TO HELL. THERE REALLY, REALLY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL! SOMETHING IS REALLY SCREWED UP WHEN YOU BUY 2 FORD EDGES WITHIN 3 YEARS AND THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME THING WRONG WITH THEM! IT'S RIDICULOUS AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW!!
TAKATA RECALL-BOTH MY CAR, AND MY FATHERS MUSTANG HAVE HAD RECALLS FOR QUITE A WHILE, AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE IN OUR AREA.

"TAKATA RECALL" WE HAVE TRIED REACHING OUT TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS FOR THE PAST YEAR REGARDING BOTH OF OUR RECALL NOTICES (AIRBAG AND FUEL TANK). EVERY TIME WE RECEIVED ONE WE HAVE CONTACTED (3) NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIPS IN GRAND RAPIDS, EVERY DEALERSHIP FOR THE PAST YEAR CONTINUES TO INFORM US THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND SERVICES AND TO CALL BACK IN A MONTH. EVERY MONTH FOR THE PAST YEAR WE HAVE CALLED - STILL NO PARTS! WE ARE AWARE THIS CAR CAME FROM FLORIDA FROM OUR REPORT, WHICH WE PURCHASED IN MICHIGAN. TODAY, OCTOBER 26TH, 2018 RECEIVED THE SETTLEMENT CLAIM. IT STATES WE CANNOT BE APART OF THE CLAIMS BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT SERVICED OUR VEHICLE YET. HOWEVER, WE HAVE TRIED FOR ONE FULL YEAR TO GET THIS VEHICLE SERVICED! AT THIS POINT IN TIME, WE ARE NOW CONSIDERING HIRING AN ATTORNEY AND ATTENDING THE HEARING ON DECEMBER 11TH, 2018. 'TAKATA RECALL' STILL AWAITING AVAILABLE PARTS TO COMPLETE THIS RECALL IS WHAT I AM REPEATEDLY TOLD. THIS HAS TAKEN WAY TO LONG TO BE FIXED, AS I AM STILL HAVING TO DRIVE THIS CAR DAILY. I REALLY DON'T FEEL TOTALLY SAFE DRIVING A CAR IN NEED OF A VERY SENSITIVE REPAIR AND HAVING TO TRANSPORT MY SCHOOL KIDS DAILY AS WELL. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO LOCAL DEALERSHIPS, WHICH CONTINUES TO TELL ME TO KEEP CHECKING BACK, OR JUST KEEP WAITING TO BE CONTACTED. THE DEALER (BALISE FORD OF CAPE COD, 90 HIGH SCHOOL ROAD EXT, HYANNIS, MA 02601, 508-815-4007) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND BEGAN BUCKING. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE NUMBER THREE COIL PACK WAS DAMAGED AND THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,500.
TAKATA RECALL FORD, THE MANUFACTURER, HAS REPEATEDLY TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO FIX MY CAR'S BAD AIRBAGS YET. THIS RECALL STARTED IN 2016 AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING MY CAR. I JUST WANTED YOU GUYS TO KNOW THAT FORD HASN'T FOUND A REMEDY YET.
THE VEHICLE WAS ALWAYS RUNNING KIND OF ROUGH AND SHIFTING KIND OF HARD REVERSE WOULD NOT WITH BANG AND IN GEARS ON THE FREEWAY BUT THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT AND HAD IT PUT ON AN ODB READER IT SAID P0353 IGNITION COIL C SO I HAD THAT REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SPARK PLUGS ALL SIX OF THEM AND IT DID NOT CLEAR THE CODE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR JUST DIED I HAD IT BROUGHT TO REPAIR SHOP THEY PUT IT ON THE SCANNER IT READ IGNITION COIL A B C D E F. SO I GOT AN IGNITION COIL PACK WHICH CONSISTED OF 6 IGNITION COILS AND 6 MORE SPARK PLUGS BRAND NEW AND HAD THOSE INSTALLED AND NOW THE CAR WON'T START AND I CHECKED THE FUSES SEVERAL RELAYS ARE BLOWN AND IT KEEPS POPPING FUSES AND THERE'S A DRAW ON THE BATTERY WHICH I HAD TO REMOVE THE BATTERY AND BUY A NEW ONE BECAUSE MY REVERSE LIGHTS JUST JUST THE REVERSE LIGHTS WERE ON WHEN MY CAR WASN'T EVEN ON OR HE WAS NOT IN THE IGNITION AND IT WAS NOT IN ANY POWER FOR ANY LIGHT SOURCE POSITION
MY 2007 FORD EDGE AT 77,291 MILE HAD AN ECM FAILURE WITH COIL FAILURES (PO351, PO 352 & PO354). THIS COST ME $1079.87 FOR THE NEW ECM, AND I REPLACED ALL COILS FOR $264 ($44/EACH X 6). THIS EDGE IS THE FIRST FORD VEHICLE I HAVE PURCHASED, & IT MIGHT BE MY LAST. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GM PRODUCTS UNTIL NOW, & EACH OF THOSE VEHICLES I DROVE TO OVER 200 K MILES ON THEM & NEVER REPLACED THE ECM OR COILS. I AM REPORTING THIS IN HOPES TO ENCOURAGE FORD TO PLACE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE TO HELP OFF SET MY COSTS.

I SAW THESE PROBLEM WAS ON RECALL WANTED TO KNOW TO BE SAFE IF IT STILL AFFECTING MY CAR IT MAKE FUNNY NOISE WHEN TURNING AND PUSHING THE GAS PEDDLE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND THE ODOMETER ERROR READING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED A TOW COMPANY. ONCE THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN OPERATION. THE TOW TRUCK FOLLOWED THE CONTACT UNTIL SHE WAS ABLE TO REACH HER DESTINATION. MANKATO FORD (1935 MADISON AVE, MANKATO, MN 56001, 507-387-3454) WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE CAR. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON WAY TO LONG. I AM DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.
MY DEALERSHIP CALLED ME FOR MY AIRBAGS TO BE REPLACED 9/25//18 @ 11AM. THE FORD COMPANY STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS COMPANY CONTINUES TO MISINFORM CUSTOMERS WITH THEIR DECEPTIVE TACTICS. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE FORD COMPANY. HOW CAN THE CUSTOMER MAKE SURE THEY ARE HAVING THE AIRBAG RECALL REPLACED?
I BOUGHT A 2007 FORD EDGE IN JULY OF 2018. LESS THEN 2 MONTHS LATER MY PCM HAS GONE BAD BURNING UP ALL 6 COIL PACKS IN MY EDGE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLENTIN ON THE PCM AND COIL PACKS, BUT WAS TOLD NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE ISSUE TO PUT OUT A RECALL. I CAN NOT AFFORD OVER $2000.00 TO HAVE THIS FIXED. FORD IS AWARE THAT IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON IT. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF 6 LANES OF TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR AND THE SUV JUST LOST POWER. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I HAD NO WARNING OR ANYTHING THE SUV JUST SLOWLY STARTED LOSING POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIDNT EVEN CUT ON UNTIL AFTER I TURNED EDGE OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS IS AN ISSUE IN NEED OF A RECALL ASAP! I HAVE DONE ALOT OF RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THAT THE FAULTY PCM BURNS UP THE COIL PACKS AND EVERYONE WHO IS JUST REPLACING COILS IS GOING TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN SINCE IT IS THE FAULTY PCM BURNING THE COILS AND UNTIL THE PCM ($835) IS REPLACED THEY WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP REPLACING THE COILS ($80 X 6 =$480.00) NONE OF THESE PRICES INCLUDE LABOR! ALSO DOESNT INCLUDE THE COST TO REPROGRAM THE NEW PCM TO MY KEYS SINCE IF YOU DONT FLASH THE NEW PCM THE EDGE WONT START DUE TO THE KEYS OUR PROGRAMMED SPECIFICALLY TO THE PCM INSTALLED TO THE EDGE. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID TO HAVE THESE ISSUE FIXED PLEASE STILL CALL FORD WHEN AND IF THEY ISSUE A RECALL (WHICH THEY NEED TO!) YOU CAN SUBMIT YOUR RECEIPT AND BE REIMBURSED FOR COST TO HAVE IT FIXED! THE PCM PUSHES TO MUCH ELECTRICITY TO THE SPARK PLUGS IN TURN BURNING THE COILS AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THE SUV TO CATCH FIRE!!!!! I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY EDGE IN 3 WEEKS AND STILL OWE MONEY ON IT!
I HAVE MY CAR IN THE SHOP GETTING BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED AT $900, FORD HAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02 THAT COVERS NEWER CARS. LOOKING ON-LINE THIS ISSUE IS PREVALENT AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED AT AS A RECALL, NO BRAKES. ALTHOUGH NEARLY COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES ONLY HAPPENED RECENTLY I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE MAY HAVE BEEN BUILDING FOR YEARS. I ALWAYS NOTICED OTHER VEHICLES HAD (TO ME) MUCH TOUCHIER BRAKES. I NOW BELIEVE THAT THE OTHER VEHICLES WEREN'T TOUCHIER, IT WAS MY CAR THAT HAD LOW BRAKING. FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING IT SEEMS THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ISSUE YEARS AGO BUT YET IT'S ANOTHER COVER UP BY A CAR MANUFACTURER.
TAKATA RECALL- I AM STILL WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT INFLATOR PARTS TO REPAIR MY 2007 FORD EDGE. I AM RENTING A VEHICLE BUT THAT COST $ 2,000 PER MONTH. WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON IT WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION WHICH EXPIRED 08/31/2018 AND THE CAR SITS IN MY FRONT YARD. WHEN WILL THESE PARTS BE AVAILABLE TO FORD TO REPAIR MY CAR?
MY BRAKES ACT LIKE THEY ARE STUCK A LOCAL MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS MY BRAKE BOOSTER I TRIED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THEY WOULD NOT WORK I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. THE BRAKES RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AFTER THREE TO FIVE SECONDS. THE DEALER (GABRIEL/JORDAN FORD, 2400 U S HIGHWAY 59 S, LIVINGSTON, TX 77351, (936)327-4327) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
BRAKE BOOSTER LEAKAGE, ON THE HIGHWAY THE BRAKES ACTUALLY WAS SO HARD TO DEPRESS WHEN COMING UP UPON A VEHICLE AT THE LIGHT I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET IT TOO STOP,,,,,,SO FINALLY THE BRAKES GRABBED STOPPING THE VEHICLE IN A SUDDEN STOP. THE BRAKE PADEL WENT TO THE FLOOR MAKING A WHISPERING SOUND.
I REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND LINE BRAND NEW N THE PUMP STILL WINES REALLY LOUD AND I HAVE REPLACED MY TIE ROD 2 MONTHS AGO AND IT NEEDS REPLACED AGAIN ASAP AND I ONLY NEEDED BUSHINGS FOR MY CONTROL ARM BUT REPLACED THE WHOLE THING AND ITS NEEDING REPLACED AGAIN IM TIRED OF SPENDING MONEY ON THIS CAR FOR THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS BETWEEN 5TH AND 6TH GEAR. ONLY ONE PREVIOUS OWNER. OWNED VEHICLE LESS THAN ONE YEAR. BECAME INCREASINGLY WORRISOME VERY FAST.
WHILE STOPPED WHEN GOING TO ACCELERATE THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT'S NOT WORKING THE VEHICLE WRAPS THE SPEEDOMETER THE MILE WHICH DOESN'T WORK SPEED DOESN'T WORK AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE ON WRENCH LIGHT IS ON TIRE LIGHT IS ON RPM STAY AT 2K THE VEHICLE WILL BARELY MOVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE, A VERY STRONG ODOR OF FUEL WAS DETECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING DUE TO CORROSION AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TWICE TO HAVE THE AIRBAG PROBLEM FIXED AND TWICE I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, ONCE IN MONTANA AND NOW IN TEXAS.

THE DEALER (LEWIS FORD LINCOLN OF HAYS, 4450 VINE ST, HAYS, KS 67601, 785-625-3441) WAS CALLED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE WOULD RECEIVE ANOTHER LETTER WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROADWAY, I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP AND HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN AND COME TO A DEAD STOP. MY 105 LB. DAUGHTER COULD NOT HAVE STOPPED THIS VEHICLE IN TIME AND WOULD HAVE CRASHED. I DROVE SLOWLY TO MY REPAIR SHOP, WHERE THE MECHANIC CHECKED THE BRAKES AND ADVISED ME THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE ADVISED ME TO REPORT THIS SERIOUS AND POSSIBLY DEADLY PROBLEM TO FORD AND THE FEDERAL SAFETY BOARD.

IN THE MEANTIME, IM SUPPOSED TO DRIVE MY CAR, KNOWING THE POSSIBLE FATAL RISK, AND "JUST REFRAIN FROM ALLOWING PASSENGERS TO RIDE THERE". UMM.. HELLO WHAT ABOUT MY LIFE??? MILEAGE AT THIS TIME IS 145K. ***DRIVING ALONG (IN TOWN) WHEN I NOTICED THE EDGE WAS IDLING REALLY LOW (NOTE: 2 WEEKS AFTER SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE, INSPECTION AND NEW BATTERY)-ALL OF A SUDDEN HEARD THIS TERRIBLE CLANKING NOISE. WE HAD THE EDGE TOWED TO OUR FORD DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THE WATER PUMP WENT BAD AND THE ENGINE WAS DESTROYED. OUR OIL WAS FULL OF WATER/COOLANT--IT LOOKED LIKE MUDDY WATER. WHAT? HOW? NO WARNING, NO SIGNS? AFTER MUCH RESEARCH WE ARE FINDING THAT THE WATER PUMP IS INSIDE THE ENGINE, THEREFORE IF THE WATER PUMP "GOES" THERE ARE NO EXTERNAL SIGNS OF LEAKAGE---IT'S KINDLY LEAKING IN TO YOUR ENGINE AND DESTROYING IT. THIS LITERALLY HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. YES, THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE--IT LEFT ME STRANDED AND NOW I'M WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER WEEK OR SO WHILE A NEW ENGINE IS BEING ORDERED AN INSTALLED.
