THE PCM ON MY FORD EDGE HAS WENT OUT FOR A SECOND TIME AFTER 5 YEARS OF HAVING IT FIXED THE FIRST TIME. THIS ISSUE IS AN ON GOING ISSUE THAT ONCE AGAIN WILL COST OVER 1000 TO REPLACE AND REPAIR ALL THE PROBLEMS THIS HAS CAUSED SUCH AS THE COMPUTER ITSELF ALL THE SPARK PLUGS EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT TIME FOR THIS TO BE CHANGED AGAIN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH 95000 MILES ON IT AND WITHIN A MONTH OF HAVING IT THE CAR SHOT THE COMPUTER WE REPLACED ALL THE SPARK PLUGS COILS AND THE COMPUTER THRU A DEALERSHIP AND NOW THE VEHICLE IS AT 123000 AND ONCE AGAIN IT IS TIME TO REPLACE ALL THE PARTS AGAIN. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING WHEN THIS ISSUE FIRST STARTS.
VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY ROAD WHEN VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN MAKES LOUD/HARD CLANK NOISE AND IMMEDIATELY LOSES POWER - ALMOST LIKE IT STARTED TOWING A TRAILER! LOSS OF POWER, WRENCH LIGHT, TPS LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHT ALL COME ON, SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. PULLED OVER, LOUD/HARD CLANK SOUND WITH EVERY GEAR CHANGE P-2. VEHICLE HAD DISPLAYED NO ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS. DROPPED VEHICLE OFF AT MECHANIC, WHEN HE LOOKED AT IT NEXT MORNING, VEHICLE IS RUNNING PERFECT. TODAY IS A FRIDAY, I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO OUT OF TOWN (VIA I75) BUT I AM GOING TO STAY LOCAL AS IT DOES NOT FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT APPEARS TO BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SEARCH - THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE TO BE FOUND ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH NO FIXES KNOWN. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THIS ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR IS KILLED FROM THE EXTREME LOSS OF POWER THE VEHICLE IS SUFFERING FROM WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
DRIVING, GOING UP A HILL, THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND LOST POWER GOING UP. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR DOESN'T ACCELERATE AND IT HAS ALL THE FLUIDS AND CHANGED OF OILS. THE CAR CLUNKS AND HAS A WRENCH. WHEN I PUT INTO REVERSE IT JUMP A VERY MINIMUM ACCELERATION. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I HAD TO TOW THE CAR. THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. HE SAID HE CLEARED UP THE COMPUTER AND IT WAS FINE. THEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. NO ACCELERATION. WHY FORD HASN'T MADE THIS INTO A SAFETY RECALL. I DID MY INVESTIGATION AND I BELIEVE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION SENSORS. PLEASE HELP ME.
I OWN A 2008 FORD EDGE LIMITED I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS SOME PEOPLE ON HERE ARE WITH THE WRENCH 🔧 LIGHT ALSO A AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND I HAVE ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE CAR SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING AND THE CAR SHIFTS SUPER HARD IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY I DID MY RESEARCH ON FORDS WEBSITE FOR FINDING OUT THE PROBLEM AND IT'S A GLITCH THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN WHEN TRYING TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT FROM OCCURRING ALSO YOU CAN'T EVEN VIEW THE SPEED I THINK THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED BECAUSE I IT CAN CREATE A UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT TO NOT ONLY MY VEHICLE BUT OTHERS AS WELL.
VEHICLE INITIALLY WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 10 MPH THEN COMPLETELY LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. LOCAL REPAIR CENTER REPORTED ISSUES WITH PCM AND WAS UNABLE TO FIX IT. SENT IT TO A FORD DEALER WHO CONFIRMED ISSUES WITH PCM THAT DAMAGED THE BODY THROTTLE, 3 ENGINE COILS, AND OTHER PARTS. HAD TO REPLACE PCM AND PARTS DAMAGED BY IT RESULTING IN A $2894.10 REPAIR BILL. THE FOLLOWING DAY AFTER REPAIR, WAS AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOSS POWER AGAIN. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND BASED ON RESEARCH, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. FORD NEED TO RECALL THIS ISSUE. I'M SO THANKFUL MY CHILD WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE DURING THESE EVENTS.
Problem with the computer for dash. Was worked on at Ford dealership in Lexington ky and had to borrow money with the lender that was already financing the vehicle for me for repairs. They was unable to repair it but still charged me almost 1,800.00.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND MAKING A TURN, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP FAILED AND DAMAGED THE BEARINGS, WHICH BLEW OUT THE MOTOR. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WHILE DRIVING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY ONTO A HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE WENT LIMP AND I HAD TO PULL OVER. AS I WAS PUTTING IT INTO PARK, IT GAVE OUT A LOUD NOISE. I WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND TURNED THE IGNITION BACK ON AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE OFF AND THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I'M HAVING IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE WHERE IT WILL STAY PARKED UNTIL I CAN HAVE IT LOOKED AT. HOPEFULLY, I WON'T HAVE TO TRADE IT IN. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FOR VEHICLES, I WILL NOT PURCHASE A FORD EVER AGAIN.
MELTING AND BURNING OUT BULBS THAT ARE USED FOR TAILLIGHTS AND REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS.
WILL BE DRIVING AND LOUD THUMP THEN CAR WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS. HAVE TO PULL OFF ROAD TURN CAR OFF AND LET SIT FOR AWHILE. RESTART CAR AND WRENCH GOES AWAY AND CAR WILL GO. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS HAVE BEEN ON FREEWAY WHEN PROBLEM OCCURS. THERE SHOULD BE RECALL ON THIS PTOBLEM.
BOTH THE REAR TAIL/STOP LIGHT BULB SOCKETS MELT FROM EXTREME BULB HEAT. THIS ISSUE IS POSTED BY OTHERS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD THAT SERIOUSLY NEEDS ADDRESSING BY FORD. IN THE PAST I REPLACED THE RIGHT REAR BULB WHICH IS WHEN I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE. YESTERDAY I HAD TO REPLACE THE LEFT REAR BULB AND DISCOVERD THAT SOCKET TOO IS MELTED ALONG WITH THE BASE OF THE BULB ITSELF.
THE MECHANIC SAID THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE EXPLODED COSTING ME OVER $2,000 IN REPAIRS. THE AC QUIT COSTING AROUND $700 IN REPAIRS. THE CD/RADIO HAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD IT ESTIMATED AT ANOTHER$700 IN REPAIRS. *TR
I HAVE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE OF THE AIRBAGS, THE CLOSEST DEALER ACCORDING TO THE INTERNET IS BELLINGHAM WASHINGTON. I LIVE IN KETCHIKAN ALASKA AND WE HAVE NO FORD DEALERSHIP ON THIS ISLAND, SO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GET THIS REPAIRED CLOSER TO WHERE WE LIVE.
ON 4/26/19 THE FORD EDGE WAS SETTING IN PARK LETTING MY SISTERS GET OUT THE FORD EDGE WAS PUT IN DRIVE IT WOULD NOT MOVE PUT IT IN REVERSE IT WOULD NOT MOVE, TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN IT STARTED TO WORK FINE.I DO NOT WHAT IS GOING ON IT
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE ODOMETER SUDDENLY DROPS TO ZERO WHILE STILL MOVING AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT. THE WRENCH SYMBOL WARNING LIGHT IN THE DASH COMES ON, AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG LIGHT. THE MILEAGE IS THEN CLEARED, AND THE DASH READS "ODO ERROR". PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. GO TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON, CAR STARTS NORMALLY, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE CLEARED. PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, AND HEAR AND FEEL A LOUD "CLUNK" AS THE VEHICLE SHIFTS, AND AM ABLE TO BACK UP NORMALLY. WHEN SHIFTING BACK INTO DRIVE, THE RPMS JUMP UP, THE CAR SHIFTS AND MAKES THE LOUD "CLUNK", AND WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE BARELY MOVES. IT WILL OCCASIONALLY COME BACK AND THE VEHICLE WILL RETURN TO IT'S NORMAL RUNNING STATE, BUT THEN IT WILL EVENTUALLY RETURNED TO THE DEFECTIVE STATE. NO ODOMETER WHILE DRIVING, NO POWER IF YOU STOP LEAVING YOU STRANDED.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY IT JUMP FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR WITH A HARD BOOM. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING UP A HILL JUMP OUT OF GEAR AND WILL NOT PULL I PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER. TO GET THE CAR TO FUNCTION AGAIN I HAVE TO TURN THE FORD EDGE OFF TURN IT BACK ON THIS IS NOT GOOD. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
DASH BOARD LIGHTS COMPLETELY OUT. WHEN CAR IS IN DRIVE RPM NOT APPEARING ALSO GAUGES NOT WORKING. COMPASS DATA ERROR APPEARS UP WITH RED BATTERY SYMBOL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE COIL PACK NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. AUTONATION FORD MOBILE (901 EAST INTERSTATE 65 SERVICE RD S, MOBILE, AL 36606, (251) 202-2016) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE GAS TANK IS SLOW LEAK HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY DANGEROUS. ALSO THE SLOW HAS INCREASED
MY SUV LUNGES FORWARD WHILE IN MOTION IT HAS JUST CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION WITH NO WARNING. I WAS ON MY CITY STREET AND THE VEHICLE JUST CUT OFF AND I HAD TO TURN THE KEY OVER TO RESTART IT. THEN IT HAS STARTED LUNGING WHILE I AM DRIVING IT. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN DEC. 2017 & WHEN WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE LUNGING, THE DEALER TOOK IT IN & SAID THAT IT NEEDED A TUNE-UP. WE PAID $300 ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO AND GOT A TUNEUP AND IT HAS STARTED TO LUNGE AGAIN. IT OCCURS WHILE I AM DRIVING, SOMETIMES ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALSO IN REGULAR CITY TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 35 MPH. RECENTLY IT STARTED CUTTING OFF RANDOMLY. I AM CALLING TO REPORT IF TO FORD & WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE TOMORROW. THE CUTTING OFF HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ONCE IN DEC. AND THEN TODAY, FEB. 3, 2019.
I WAS DRIVING IN A CITY STREET AND MY CAR SUDDENLY HAD VERY DECREASED POWER AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I DROVE UNTIL I FOUND A PLACE TO SAFELY PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE LIGHT TURNS OFF.
VEHICLE WILL ACT LIKE IT ' JUMPS' AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL COME ON. VEHICLE WILL DECELERATE IF I DON'T PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY CAUSING ME TO COME TO A STOP. SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING. CANT ACCELERATE ONCE STOPPED. HAS TO TURN VEHICLE OFF TO RESET THE COMPUTER AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL GO OFF FOR A PERIOD OF TIME UNTIL IT DECIDES TO HAPPEN AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF ON THE HIGHWAY AND CAN'T GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER CARS TO CUT THE VEHICLE OFF. HAPPENS A FEW TIMES A MONTH.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR LOSES POWER AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. BOUGHT IT TO FORD DEALER WAS TOLD IT'S MY THROTTLE BODY. I SEE THIS IS NOT A ISOLATED CASE.
DRIVING TO WORK I NOTICED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE GOT ALL THE WAY UP AND I PULLED OVER, SINCE I WAS DRIVING ON THE I-41 NORTHBOUND HIGHWAY, I DECIDED TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY SINCE I WAS PRETTY CLOSE TO THE EXIT. I CALLED MY HUSBAND FOR ASSISTANCE AND RIGHT AFTER HE DROPPED ME OFF AT WORK, HE CHECKED THE SUV AND NOTICED THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS VERY LOW. WE TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND AFTER THE INSPECTION HIS DIAGNOSTIC WAS A 'WATER PUMP FAILURE ' SINCE THE WATER PUMP IS LOCATED 'INSIDE ' THE ENGINE ITSELF, IT WILL BE A 'VERY EXPENSIVE FIX' SO THE MECHANIC RECOMMENDED TO REPORT IT SINCE IT MAY BE FOMOCO'S FAULTY. I COMPLETELY AGREED WITH HEM, BECAUSE THE FACT THEY INSTALLED THE WATER PUMP INSIDE THE ENGINE, DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE, BECAUSE JUST A INEXPENSIVE PUMP AFFECTED THE WHOLE ENGINE AND TO REPAIR IT, WILL COST MORE THAN THE SUV ITSELF. THIS HAPPENED ON JANUARY 28TH 2019, AROUND 1:30. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE HOPING THERE IS A 'RECALL ' REGARDING THIS MATTER.

"TAKATA RECALL" TAKATA RECALL 16V-384 HELLO. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 REGARDING AIR BAG REPLACEMENT ON MY 2008 FORD EDGE. IT SAID PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE, AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED AGAIN WHEN IT WAS AVAILABLE. IN OCTOBER OF 2016 I RECEIVED MILITARY ORDERS TO MOVE FROM CALIFORNIA TO BELGIUM, AND BROUGHT MY CAR WITH ME. I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE IN NOV 2018 THAT THE PART WAS NOW AVAILABLE. I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED FORD SEVERAL TIMES VIA THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER PROVIDED ON THE RECALL FORM. THE REPRESENTATIVES HAVE REPEATEDLY GIVEN ME MISINFORMATION. DURING MY LAST CALL WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST YESTERDAY, IT WAS CONFIRMED BY THE REPRESENTATIVE, THAT DUE TO MY CURRENT RESIDENCE IN BELGIUM, REPLACING THE AIRBAG WAS JUST NOT AN OPTION. SHE SAID THE FORD RECALL COMPUTER DOES NOT CONNECT WITH BELGIUM. WHEN I CONTACTED A BELGIUM FORD DEALER, THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, NO VISIBILITY TO THE RECALL. THE DEALER HERE ALSO TOLD ME THEY HAVE HAD TO TURN AWAY NUMEROUS OTHERS IN MY SAME SITUATION. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO NOW. WE HAVE A FAMILY OF FOUR, AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT THEIR SAFETY. I WILL NOT BE BACK IN THE U.S. FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS, MAYBE LONGER. HELP!? THANK YOU. W.S.
TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR! RECEIVED A LONG OVERDUE LETTER FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN TO A FORD DEALER AND HAVE THE INFLATOR FIXED AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND TOOK IT IN! WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2 HOURS! A FEW HOURS LATER MY VEHICLE HADN"T BEEN MOVED AND THEY SAID THEY HAD MORE IMPORTANT JOBS TO DO AND WERE NOT SURE IF THEY WOULD GET TO IT! I HAD MY SON TAKE IT IN AND HE WAS VERY UPSET AND LEFT! THEY HAVE BEEN VERY RUDE AT THIS DEALERSHIP BEFORE! SO IT SEEMS THAT SINCE THIS WAS A FREEBIE IT WASN'T IMPORTANT TO THEM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!
WHISTLING NOISE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED AND SOMETIMES BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD TO DEPRESS MAKING STOPS SEEM LIKELY UNSTOPPABLE ALSO REAR BRAKES MAKE TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN BACKING PADS AND ROTORS ARE OKAY.
WATER PUMP WENT OUT CAUSING CAR TO OVERHEAT. OVER VIEW OF VEHICLE DETERMINED THAT WHEN THE PUMP WENT OUT IT MIXED THE ANTIFREEZE AND OIL INSIDE THE ENGINE. INSTEAD OF JUST REPLACING THE WATER PUMP NOW I NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE.

ALSO, THE ODOMETER BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MAINTAIN FORWARD MOMENTUM. THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY GUIDED OFF OF THE ROADWAY, THE IGNITION WAS PLACED IN THE OFF POSITION, AND THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED; HOWEVER, IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. KRAUSE FAMILY FORD OF WOODSTOCK (LOCATED AT 195 WOODSTOCK PKWY, WOODSTOCK, GA 30188, (770) 592-8873) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER (MARSHAL MIZE FORD, 5348 HIGHWAY 153, HIXON, TN), THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE DEFECT WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER REGARDING NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 IN DECEMBER OF 2017 STATING THAT FORD DISCOVERED A SEVERE SAFETY RISK IN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OF MY VEHICLE IN JULY 2016. ALMOST A YEAR LATER, IN NOVEMBER OF 2018 I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER THAT SAID PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE AND I SHOULD CALL A DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON DECEMBER 3, BUT THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE PART ARRIVED. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 WEEKS SINCE I MADE THE APPOINTMENT, AND THAT IS NOWHERE NEAR THE AMOUNT OF TIME MY WIFE AND I HAVE WAITED FOR FORD TO EVEN HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR OUR VEHICLE. I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED THAT EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR WITH ANYONE ELSE THEY EITHER HAVE TO SIT IN THE BACK OR RISK METAL SHRAPNEL IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS AN ESPECIALLY RELEVANT FEAR DURING THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN ICY ROAD CONDITIONS MAKE ACCIDENTS MUCH MORE LIKELY. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR 2 AND A HALF YEARS AND I AM STILL WAITING FOR A FIX FOR MY VEHICLE. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WAITING, AND THAT MAKES IT EVEN MORE APPALLING THAT FORD HAS NOT BEEN MORE TIMELY IN FIXING THIS RECALL.

FUEL IS LEAKING, 1 BELIEVE FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, BUT LEFT ON FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. WHEN I RETURNED AND REVERSED OUT THE PARKING SPOT I NOTICED A PUDDLE AT THE BACK END OF THE PARKING SPOT. I SMELLED THE PUDDLE AND IT WAS FUEL.
RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD CONCERNING AIRBAG RECALL 17V-024 ADVISING ME THAT A REPAIR IS AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE. I WENT TO MY DEALER IN MENDHAM, NJ AND THEY SAY THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THIS HAS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS SINCE THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. OBVIOUSLY FORD DOES NOT TAKE YOUR RECALLS OR OUR SAFETY INTO ACCOUNT.
TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED FIRST LETTERS FROM FORD IN JULY 2016 AND HAVE BEEN PROACTIVE ABOUT ASKING DEALERSHIP TO FIX OUR CAR SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WITH EACH LETTER. FIRST FORD IN FALL RIVER, MA HAS NOT HONORED THE RECALL AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICLE. THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED PARTS EVEN THOUGH OUR LETTERS FROM FORD SAY THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. WE HAVE TO TAKE TWO CARS ANYWHERE WE GO AS A FAMILY BECAUSE WE CAN'T USE THE FRONT SEAT COSTING US TIME AND GAS. OUR VEHICLE IS HIGH RISK FOR EXPLOSION BECAUSE WE LIVED IN FL AND GA WHILE OWNING THE VEHICLE. WE'RE VERY CONCERNED FOR THE LIVES OF OUR CHILDREN 1 AND 6 BUT WE CAN'T AFFORD TO REPLACE THE CAR OUT OF POCKET. WE DON'T WANT TO BECOME COLLATERAL DAMAGE IN FORDS CORPORATE DAMAGE MITIGATION CALCULATION.
