NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2010 Ford Edge. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the engine temperature gauge indicated that the engine was overheating. The vehicle was later driven to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine was damaged due to a faulty internal water pump which had caused coolant to mix with the engine oil. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 117,000.
I was driving home in my 2010 Ford Edge that has150,000 miles on it at the speed of 55 mph when it stopped accelerating and then just shut down. It did not overheat, there were no alarms, alerts or lights that went off on the car. After coasting to the side of the road I got out and looked under the hood of my car I noticed that the antifreeze was leaking. My husband was able to add anti freeze to the vehicle and we drove home and parked it until we could find a mechanic that could figure out what happened. I called mechanics in the area and explained what happened. The local mechanics we spoke to stated that it sounded like the water pump went and that they were not comfortable doing the repair due to the amount of labor required. I found a mechanic willing to work on my truck and had my Ford Edge towed to his shop. After looking it over I was told the water pump leaked into the engine which the dealership said was catastrophic and that I needed a whole new engine and water pump. The technician said it may have been leaking into the engine for several days without warning. A water pump should be a simple repair, however the way that it happened caused engine failure and requires an entire engine replacement. My truck no longer functions or operates in any capacity. I believe this engine failure was the direct result of the location of the water pump which was "internally" in the engine. This is a poor vehicle design and a safety concern for Ford. Total cost for this repair is $8,300. At this time the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, police or insurance representatives.
I would like to report the issue of failing brake boosters on 2010 Ford Edge SEL models. There are many complaints popping up in the past couple years and mine has gone as well.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, an abnormal noise was heard coming from the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that he pulled over on the side of the roadway, opened the hood, and noticed that the antifreeze reservoir container was empty. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was diagnosed as a defective water pump that needed replacement. The contact stated that the repair was not completed because the dealer could not guarantee that the engine was not damaged. The vehicle was not repaired but was towed back to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. A case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.
Brake booster has to be replaced which was being covered up until 2020 the mechanic told me so I liked to know why it's not covered now. I bought the vehicle in late December of ,2020 so I wouldn't have known and I got it from a dealership. The brakes don't work because of this known problem. So I have a $800 repair bill I'm hoping to get taken care like it should have when I bought it. Thanks for your time and help!
Braking was an issue so got new brake pads and rotors per mechanic rec. Braking continued to be a problem and after having another driver verify the brake pedal, took it into the mechanics again. They said it was due to the brake booster failure - leak. Which is why I couldn't really press down on the brake pedal and losing the ability to securely stop - even with new pads and rotors on all 4 wheels. Car is at the mechanics since it's not safe to drive with its unpredictable braking. Called Ford customer service but said that there was nothing that they can do since the extended warranty 13N02 – Extended Warranty Coverage on Brake Booster – 2010-2013 Ford Edge & Lincoln MKX is not attached to VIN - they recommended in filing a complaint to see if it can get added and covered under this warranty. Given the date of when this car was purchased (12/20) and with COVID shut downs - it was difficult to address the brake problem - especially given work and everything was shut down. No warranty letters were sent informing me about this potential failure of a critical component in driving. Looks like there are many complaints from other owners experiencing brake failure and even a class action lawsuit support for Ford warrantying instead of recalling. There are also recalls of newer Edge and MKZ for brake booster issues. NHTSA, please help!

We take good care of our cars and we do all required maintenance and oil changes but we are now facing a water pump failure that caused my engine to fail without any warring. On Wednesday March 9th I was passing a Semi Truck on a County Road and I heard a pop then lost all power and smoke came from under my hood. I had a guarding angel with me that day because there was another Semi truck approaching me in the passing lane and both Semi trucks slowed way down so that I was able to pull over. I saw my life flash before my eyes. This repair is going to cost us $4,700.00 or more if they should find any additional damage to my engine once they get all the parts to fix the car. How can a modern day car cost $4,700.00 to fix a water pump that caused the engine failure and overheat without A SINGLE WARNING!!! It seems like maybe Ford should look into recommending or insist that these internal WATER pumps be serviced/replaced at a reasonable mileage point maybe 80,000 or 100,000 miles to prevent a catastrophic loss. Water pumps will never out last an engine so getting them replaced early would help protect the engine and other damage that could happen. Just 8 days before my engine failed my car was in a Ford dealership garage for Oil Change, a cooling system flushing, belts and spark plugs replaced, not sure why at that time there was not something said about replacing the water pump? I know that The Ford Company is well aware of this issue so why would this information not be passed along to all dealership so that the service/maintenance garage personal know what to do to prevent this from happening. I would like to help prevent this issue from happening to anyone else. Next time someone might die, I almost did because of the engine failure on a simple water pump .
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed the ABS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the half shaft retention needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, she heard an abnormal whining sound coming from the front of the vehicle and she noticed a strong abnormal odor. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact continued to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the 4WD differential transfer unit had failed and was leaking fluid. The dealer advised the contact that the failure was unserviceable and the entire transfer unit needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under an unknown contract. The contact contacted other unknown dealers who also advised her the failure was unserviceable and the entire transfer unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 111,500.
The contact’s granddaughter owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that upon exiting the vehicle, his granddaughter noticed a strong gasoline odor. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the bracket had rusted and had caused the gas tank to rust and leak. The independent mechanic also advised the contact that the bracket and gas tank needed to be replaced and that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V712000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not assist since the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. Consumer stated check engine light comes on when the vehicle gets to 1/2 tank of fuel. Original recall issue was prior to 07/2010. Malfunction in the break booster has lead to improper breaking, squishy breaks, car not fully stopping. If stopped for too long using the break a drop and rise of rpms
Our local mechanic advised us that the power brake booster was inoperable and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. He advised us to bring the vehicle to Ford for repair. He also advised us that the booster has a known defect and Ford had extended a warranty to ten years for this part. We were never notified by Ford that there was a known problem with diaphragm in the power brake booster. This was confirmed by the local Ford Dealer. The vehicle is schedule to be repaired at the Ford.dealer but we cannot bring the vehicle in for another2 weeks. The estimate just to repair this part is.$ 850.00 and does not include any other potential damage to the brake system. According to the local Ford dealer and the original dealership they advised me that the extended warranty has expired for the brake booster and that Ford will not approve extending that warranty. I also called Ford customer service asking if they would be responsible for this repair since this was a known defect on this vehicle. This defect is definitely a safety issue but Ford is refusing to approve the repair. They are claiming that they voluntarily extended their warranty for 10 years and would have made a repair under the warranty if there was an issue with the braking system during that time period. I replied that since they never advised anyone of this defect we were disadvantaged to take actions to trade in or sell the vehicle. During the covid lock down this vehicle was hardly used and if it was driven it probably would have required a repair while under this secret warranty. The vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it, Ford has issued a case# cas33813024p7f6v3 on this matter but will not cover the repair The vehicle has been taken off the road and will have to be towed to the Ford Dealership to avoid an accident. It is completely not roadworthy.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving and approaching a stop sign, the contact depressed on the brake pedal however, the vehicle would not slow down or stop until the contact had depressed on the brake pedal all the way to the floorboard. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and stated that the failure was related to either the brake booster or the brake master cylinder. The mechanic referred the contact took to a local dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
Stiff braking,,had family drive it; they deemed it unsafe for me to drive. Had a mechanic look at it, he said it was the booster on the brake and suggested I take it in to my service person @ Ford as he thought there was a recall on it. When I told my service person, he said no, so I’m now taking it back to my trusted mechanic.
8.16.21was driving home, no lights, no warnings, no smoke nothing no indication of any kind and I lost all power to operate the vehicle. I was unable to start the car and up to this point car was running fine, had car towed to local mechanic after inspecting the car mechanic found water pump blew up and pully ruptured filling my entire engine with coolant and now I am out of a car due to the engine being destroyed. After extensive reviewing it appears this is a known issue with the 2007-2010 Ford Edges and Ford has yet to step up to the plate and address this known issue. Look on Facebook under Ford Motor Company and see how many other owners are having this issue. How can you run a business knowing this happens and then not being able to back it up by fixing the issue. I could have had another 4-5 years with my car and now I have to have burden and cost of finding a new car due to negligence on Fords part. I truly enjoyed my Ford Edge however in the future I will no longer drive any type of Ford car or Lincoln knowing this is how you treat known issues. I'm just glad it was not -30degrees out and this happened. Shame on Ford. I will also spread the word about this issue and to anyone else thinking of buying a Ford. I have the estimate for a new engine let me know when the check will be in the mail to have my car repaired!!!
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to stop until the brake pedal had reached the floorboard. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed at a local mechanic but was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 164,000.
Brakes became incredibly soft. Could push brake pedal almost all the way to the floor with out slowing the vehicle. Had to leave roadway to avoid an accident. A hissing sound was heard when applying pressure to the brake pedal. This seems to be a know issue to Ford.
I needed increased effort to engage the brakes, totally lost all brake power when driving on a highway. Started out spongy and then it was like engaging a brick. Had to veer off the highway and almost caused a major accident. Brake pedal is hissing and spongy.
Replaced brakes and pads and bled the brakes twice. When I push brake pedal it feels mushy and resistant and the vehicle won’t stop. A hissing noise is made also.
My brakes suddenly became hard to press, and my car became almost impossible to stop on the freeway, and there is a hissing noise coming from under the brake pedal. My car has less than 90,000 miles, and has had only one owner, and was always serviced at a licensed Ford dealership. There have been no aftermarket parts installed. In addition, my car has always been garaged, both at home and at work, and no one else has driven it. It appears that there is a faulty brake booster that should have been recalled and repaired for free by Ford. This is a very serious and potentially deadly defect.
Power Steering malfunctioned. Wife had kids in the car and lost steering control. All power steering fluid loss out of banjo bolt that connects the power steering high pressure line to the steering gear. Ford has a TSB on these regarding this issue. Service bulletin ASI-44308 Steering NHTSA ID number 10054565. I had to have a mechanic replace the whole rack and pinion due to the pitting the salt caused on the aluminum by corroding. This is fords mistake. Thankfully no one was hurt. Secondly, I had to pay $945 for something that should have never happened. This is a huge safety concern and Ford Knows about it!
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle made an abnormal clanging sound, jerked, and hesitated to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle would fail to reverse upon placing the gear shifter reverse. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the failure was diagnosed as a defective transfer case. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that his VIN was not subjected to a recall for the transmission. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for further assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Interior driver's side door latch is covered with a metal-like substance which appears to be chrome. The metal has cracked/split along the top of the latch, where the driver places fingers to open the door. The owner/driver of this vehicle was injured by this latch on 6/6/2021, and suffered a finger laceration which required bandaging but not stitches.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the brake assist was failing due to the vehicle not braking properly. The contact stated that excessive brake pedal pressure was needed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle made an abnormal hissing sound when the brake was applied. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact referenced an unknown recall regarding the brake booster and stated that it was confirmed by the dealer that the Vin was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V158000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
It has been 9 months since the alert was sent out (March 2021). We have still been using the vehicle.

HARD, CLUNKING NOISE/VIBRATION/IMPACT WHEN STARTING VEHICLE, SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE, REVERSE TO PARK, REVERSE TO DRIVE, DRIVE TO REVERSE, PARK TO DRIVE, AND DRIVE TO PARK. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VIOLENTLY. LOSE SPEED AT HIGHWAY SPEED. ODOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER GO BLANK, NO DISPLAY. LOSS OF POWER AND SPEED. HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. SO MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOUND WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF SEARCH.
MY 2010 EDGE IS DEALING WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT, A WRENCH, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ALL COMING ON AND OFF WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE (IN PARK OR IN ANY DRIVING CONDITION). WHEN THESE LIGHTS COME ON I PRETTY MUCH LOSE THE ABILITY TO BREAK ON MY OWN, IT RESISTS AND GRINDS WHEN BREAKING WITH THE LIGHTS ON. THE LIGHTS CAN COME AND GO FOR DAYS AT A TIME OR FOR ONLY A FEW MILES. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HESITATES ON TAKE OFF WHEN THESE LIGHTS ARE ON. CODE READER DOESN'T REALLY TELL US ANYTHING USEFUL. IF CODES ARE CLEARED IT EVENTUALLY WILL COME BACK ON AND CONTINUE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BY WHAT I'M FINDING, FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THIS WIRING/ELECTRICAL ISSUE. ANOTHER THING, THE SEATBELT LIGHT AND ALARM WILL NOT STOP GOING OFF, EVEN IF YOU ARE IN PARK FOR A WHILE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND I AM FAR FROM IMPRESSED.
BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE. FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02. FORD STATE'S THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED, AND THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
I AM DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN AT 60 PLUS MILES AN HOUR. I BARELY MADE IT OFF THE ROAD AND IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING MORE AND MORE.
WHEN YOU PUSH DOWN THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES DO NOT ENGAGE. TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS, ONE AT LES SCHWAB, AND ONE AT THE FORD DEALER HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER PART NO. AT4Z2005 IS DEFECTIVE. MANY FORD MODELS AND MODEL YEARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS SAME DEFECTIVE PART. WHEN ASKED, FORD HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART FOR MY VEHICLE. FORD REFERENCE # CAS 28787275
DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONTINUALLY WENT ON AND OFF WHILE IN MOTION WHETHER ON A HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET. NOTICED IT ALSO WENT ON DURING LEFT TURNS. DOOR LOCKS ON ALL DOORS WOULD CLICK ON AND OFF AT STOPS. I WASN'T SURE THAT DOORS WERE LOCKED WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. INTERNAL LIGHTS WOULD ALSO GO ON AN OFF. COMMON ISSUE ON THE INTERNET WITH FORD EDGES. IT'S ALL OVER AND FOR YEARS. I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND HAD TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED AT A COST OF $542.83. I BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO PAY FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE PART NUMBER TO REPLACE WAS THE LATCH PART NUMBER 8T4Z 78264A27 A. SO A NEW DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED ALONG WITH THE REPAIR OF A WIRE IN THE DOOR HARNESS NEAR THE LH SIDE OF THE DOOR SPEAKER. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE.
POWER BRAKE BOOSTER AND CHECK VALVE FAILURE. LOSS OF BRAKE USE IN VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION ON LOCAL ROAD.
WE WERE DRIVING ALONG AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THERE WAS A LOUD POP. IT STARTED OVERHEATING AND IT WAS ALL WE COULD DO TO GET IT BACK TO OUR HOUSE. WE WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD. IT WAS RUNNING FINR TILL THE LOUD POP.
WILL NOT STOP
I PURCHASED THE 2010 EDGE FROM MY MOTHER IN 12/ 2018 WHEN SHE PURCHASED AN ESCAPE. 1.5 YEARS LATER, IN MILE 99,800, I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAKES. I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT THE END OF THE STREET ONTO A MAJOR ROAD AT THE EXIT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD. GOING DOWN A HILL, I ALWAYS GO SLOWLY TO ALLOW MYSELF PROPER BRAKING TIME, AS IT IS A VERY STEEP HILL ONTO A MAJOR AND VERY BUSY ROAD. I EXPERIENCED A LACK OF BRAKES. I STOOD ON THEM AS HARD AS I COULD, AND IT BARELY SLOWED ME DOWN ENOUGH TO PREVENT ME FROM GOING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AFTER I RECOVERED MY HEART RATE, I TURNED AROUND AND WENT HOME. I THEN BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC, HE TOLD ME HE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE WORKING ON IT, AS HE DISCOVERED AN ISSUE WITH THIS ACCORDING TO FORD. I THEN BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, AS THE FORD DEALERSHIP MY DAD PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND ALL THE SERVICE WAS DONE AT WAS, WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, 40 MINUTES AWAY. A DANGEROUS COMMUTE DUE TO THE INTERMITTENT LACK OF BRAKES. THE BULLETIN/EXTENDED WARRANTY IS 13N02 ' EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON BRAKE BOOSTER. I HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY FIXED BY THE DEALERSHIP, WHO INFORMED ME THAT IT HAD A 10-YEAR 150,000-MILE SERVICE BULLETIN, AND IT IS NOT COVERED. FIRST, THE CAR IS 10 YEARS OLD. SECOND, IT WAS LESS THAN 100K MILES ON IT. ALSO, THE MILEAGE WAS LOW, DUE TO THE LITTLE MY PARENTS DROVE THE CAR. THE AVERAGE MILEAGE ON THE CAR CURRENTLY IS 10,000 A YEAR. I BELIEVE THE ISSUE WOULD HAVE EXPOSED ITSELF WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD IF THE CAR WERE DRIVEN WITH TYPICAL MILEAGE (OVER 10,000 A YEAR).I AM ASKING YOU TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE WORK DONE ON MY CAR FOR THIS ISSUE, AS I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTY, IF NOT AS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE OR MAJOR MEDICAL ISSUES AS WELL AS A LOSS OF OR MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY CAR. THE TOTAL AMOUNT INCLUDING TAX WAS $841.43.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY, SHE NOTICED FUEL LEAKING ON TO THE GROUND OF HER DRIVEWAY. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED AN UNUSUAL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V712000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 178,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 EDGE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME STOPED SUDDENLY SO I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES. MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT STOPPING MY VEHICLE. ( ALL OF THIS IS HAPPENING IN SECONDS TRAVELING ABOUT TWO TO THREE CAR LENGTHS)I RELEASED MY FOOT AND THE BRAKE PEDAL RETURNED TO A NORMAL POSITION. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AGAIN AND THE PEDAL TRAVELED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD AGAIN WITHOUT STOPPING MY VEHICLE. I RELEASED PRESSURE AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE PEDAL SHOT BACK HITTING MY FOOT WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT CAUSED A LISFRANC DISLOCATION AND SEVERE BONE BRUISING TO MY RIGHT FOOT. (I LOST MY JOB AND WILL BE UNABLE TO WORK FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS, IF I AM ABLE TO REGAIN FULL FUNCTION DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT .)THROUGH THE PAIN I DEPRESSED THE BRAKES A THIRD TIME AND THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN, NOT STOPPING MY VEHICLE AND RESULTING IN MY VEHICLE CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AT A RELATIVELY SLOW SPEED. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
I WAS TOLD THAT MY BRAKE PADS ONLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THEY HAD DONE IT, WHEN I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE, THE BRAKES WERE EXTREMELY HARD AND I COULD NOT STOP MY VEHICLE, I TOOK MY CAR BACK AND THEY STATED MY MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD, THEY NOTED IT ON MY INVOICE, BUT DID NOT DISCUSS IT WITH ME AND GAVE ME MY VEHICLE WITHOUT NOTIFYING. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR BACK FOR REPAIR, THEY CRACKED MY WINDSHIELD AND VOMITED IN MY VEHICLE
NOTICED A WEEK AGO THERE WAS A HISSING NOISE WHILE PUSHING IN ON THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES WERE EXTREMELY HARD TO PUSH IN ON TO GET THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A STOP. TOOK TO OUR LOCAL SHOP AND WAS INFORMED WE NEEDED A NEW BRAKE BOOSTER AND THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND COSTED US $860.42 TO GET REPAIRED.
THE VEHICLE STOP WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHT AND WOULD NOT GET ANY ACCELERATION ONCE STEPPING ON THE GAS. I. TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY SAID IT. IS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY.. I
BRAKE BOOSTER IS FAILING, HISSING, MAKING BRAKING NEAR I.POSSIBLE. THIS IS INTERMITTENT CONDITION. ALSO HAD AIRBAG RECALL COMPLETED, AND NOW THE CLOCK SPRING HAS FAILED, DEALER WILL NOT FIX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V712000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AND A FUEL LEAK FROM THE FUEL TANK IN HIS DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIORITY FORD (7520 N MILITARY HWY, NORFOLK, VA 23518, (757) 419-2500) AND IT WAS STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RUST ON THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE GASOLINE WAS LEAKING FROM THE SEAMS OF THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT IT WAS THE CONTACT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. *LN *TR
