THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WON'T GO OFF.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SWITCH THAT SENSES WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. THEREFORE THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN AT ALL TIMES. THIS CAUSES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, AND ALSO PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. ONLINE SEARCHES INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT'S NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE DESIGN OF THE DOOR SWITCH SEEMS FAULTY, AS IT REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT LABOR TO DISASSEMBLE THE DOOR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY. THIS OCCURS WHILE CAR IS PARKED AS WELL AS WHEN IT IS IN MOTION.
BRAKES FEEL LIKE THEY ARE NOT WORKING. AND MAKE A HISSING NOIES AND PETAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR WHEN PUSHED. BOTH WHEN DRIVING OR AT A STAND STILL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND NEAR THE ENGINE. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD ACCELERATE ONLY 5 MPH FOR HALF A DISTANCE, AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE BOWDITCH COLLISION CENTER (FORD DEALER) LOCATED AT 975 J. CLYDE MORRIS BLVD, NEWPORT NEWS, VA 23601; (757) 595-2210 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-392-3673 AND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING AND THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE NHTSA AND A CASE NUMBER 12730423 WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS TURN ON AT ANYTIME INCLUDING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING. THE ONLY WAY TO TURN OFF IS TO DISCONNECT WIRE. WE HAVE CAR IN TO GARAGE AND THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE!! THEY 1ST SAID WOULD COST UP TO $600 BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT PROBLEM WAS NOW THEY ARE SAYING A MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED AND WILL COST OVER $1100. I DID SEE ON LINE WHERE THERE WAS A RECALL THAT STATED THE MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, AND FORD WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE BILLED FOR THIS SINCE THEY KNOW THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND MODULE IS ONLY FIX. THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN MOTION FOR THIS TO HAPPEN IT HAS HAPPENED EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED!!
PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON AT ALL SPEEDS AND STATIONARY. SAFETY OF MYSELF AND CHILDREN ARE IN JEPARDY BECAUSE MY CAR NO LONGER LOCKS. WE WILL BE TRADING THIS VEHICLE IN. SAFETY ISN'T SOMETHING YOU RISK. EXTREMELY UPSETTING. WITH ALLL OF THE ISSUES POSTED THAT FORD HASN'T SENT A RECALL ON THIS.
INTERMITTENTLY, HAZARD LIGHTS COME ON WHILE CAR IS PARKED.
BRAKES FELT WEAK AND MADE "HISSING" SOUND. TOOK CAR TO MECHANIC HAD NEW FRONT AND REAR BRAKES INSTALLED. DRIVING HOME NOTICED BRAKES STILL FELT SOMEWHAT WEAK AND HISSING SOUND STILL EXISTS. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM ISSUED FOR MY CAR DUE TO BAD BRAKE BOOSTER! NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE. FOUND MANY POSTS FROM PEOPLE WHO HAS SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THIS. HOW IN THE WORLD COULD THE NTSB ALLOW FORD TO GET AWAY WITH NO RECALL??? SUN ROOF SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE
MY "DOOR AJAR" CONTINUES TO STAY ON AND I CANNOT ALARM THE CAR AS IT SHOWS THE DRIVERS DOOR AS UNLOCKED. I FOUND OUT THAT THE LOCKING MECHANISM IS FAULTY AND WILL COST ME AROUND $450 TO CORRECT. FOR A 6-YEAR-OLD CAR, THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE OUT SO SOON.
DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER DOOR IS CLOSED.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURE AND LATCHED.
FAULTY DOOR AJAR SWITCH - REPLACED DOOR AJAR SWITCH IN DRIVER DOOR AT 39,500 AND AGAIN 91,000 MILES. REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS PRODUCED THE SAME ISSUE AND IS NOW CONSISTENT FOR 1 MONTH.
RECEIVED INTERMITTENT TRACTION SYSTEM WARNINGS WHILE DRIVING 2011 FORD EDGE AND IN ADDITION TO THE WARNINGS CAR DROVE VERY DIFFERENTLY -LIKE IT WAS BOGGED DOWN AND ACCELERATION WAS DIFFICULT. IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF CAR AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON - ONCE I DID THAT THE WARNING WAS GONE AND THE CAR DROVE NORMALLY AGAIN. THIS ERROR WOULD POP UP RANDOMLY ON DIFFERENT DAYS AND WOULD BE RESOLVED WITH A POWER DOWN AND RESTART. THEN ANOTHER DAY I RECEIVED AWD WARNING AND WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE POWER TO THE WHEELS SEEMED TO DISAPPEAR AND THE CAR SEEMED TO JUST BE ROLLING SLOWLY SO I HIT THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR DID NOTHING NO ACCELERATION. I PULLED THE CAR OVER AND SHUT IT OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE ERROR WAS GONE AND THE CAR DROVE NORMALLY. THESE ERRORS SCARED ME AS I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY SMALL KIDS AND IF IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY I AM CERTAIN A CAR SUDDENLY LOSING ACCELERATION IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC COULD LEAD TO A CRASH/TRAGEDY. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE DIAGNOSTICS DID NOT SHOW ANYTHING HOWEVER THROUGH THEIR RESEARCH THEY DETERMINED THAT A SOFTWARE UPGRADE MIGHT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I THE CUSTOMER AM HELD RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THE LABOR FOR A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. IF THERE IS DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT THAT A SOFTWARE UPGRADE CAN RESOLVE THESE ISSUES AND KEEP THE CUSTOMER SAFE SHOULD A RECALL NOT BE ISSUED TO HELP PREVENT A CUSTOMER LOSING POWER TO THEIR CAR AND MAYBE RESULTING IN A CRASH. I THINK THIS WARRANTS AN INVESTIGATION. I HOPE I CAN AT LEAST PUT THE WORD OUT THERE TO OTHER FORD OWNERS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND HOPEFULLY GAIN A RECALL SO THAT NO ONE IS INJURED AS A RESULT OF THIS.
WHEN I SHUT MY DRIVER DOOR THE LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING "DRIVER DOOR AJAR". I HAVE TO KEEP SHUTTING/SLAMMING THE DOOR TO CLEAR ALARM. AT MOST IT WILL NOT GO OFF. WHEN I START TO DRIVE WITH ALL THE DOORS CLOSED ALL DOORS SHOULD LOCK AND THEY DON'T BECAUSE THE DOOR IS OPEN. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND I DON'T THINK IT'S SAFE. WHEN I HIT MY KEY TO LOCK THE DOORS AFTER I GET OUT MY INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON WHICH IS CAUSING LOW BATTERY! THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED! FOR YOU TO PROVIDE VEHICLES TO THE WORLD SAFETY IS A MUST AND THEIR ARE SO MANY OTHERS OUT THERE THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM WHY BE SO SLOW TO CORRECT IT!!
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CAME ON AND MY DRIVERS DOOR WAS SHUT. EVENTUALLY THE LATCH COMPLETELY FELL OFF AND THE DOOR HANDLE TOO. WE COULDN'T OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OR ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN. THIS IS A KNOWN RECALL ISSUE WITH OTHER FORD VEHICLES.
ON 5/20/17 WE NOTICED THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS ON AND INTERIOR DOME LIGHT STAYED ON WHILE DRIVING. STOPPED THE CAR, OPENED AND CLOSED EACH DOOR, SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES AND SEEMED TO BE THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK DOOR. LIGHTS ALL FINALLY WENT OFF. THE NEXT DAY THE ISSUE RETURNED - DOME LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR 1.5 DAYS AND DOOR AJAR LIGHT WAS ALSO ON. THE NIGHT OF 5/22 MY HUSBAND DIRECTED MY SON TO TRY SOMETHING WITH THE DOOR LATCH ON THAT DOOR AND THAT GOT THE LIGHTS TO GO OFF AGAIN. IT'S DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR AT NIGHT WHEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF NOT TO MENTION THAT THIS WILL CAUSE BATTERY DRAINAGE.
CODE P2111 OCCURS AND AT STOP LIGHT ENGINE APPEARS TO ALMOST STALL. WHILE DRIVING THE STABILITY CONTROL TUNS OFF, LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. PROBLEM GOES AWAY WHILE DRIVING AFTER A SECOND. AT THE STOP LIGHT, IT BEGINS EVERY TIME YOU COME TO THE STOP LIGHT. FORD SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG BUT THIS APPEARS TO BE ANOTHER THROTTLE BODY ISSUE WITH FORD EDGES.
ON 2011 FORD EDGE ON THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, A "DOOR AJAR" WARNING COMES ON AND CANNOT BE TURNED OFF, EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS REPEATED CLOSED. AFTER MANY TRIES, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO TURN OFF. WHEN IT IS ON, THE CAR INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, LEADING TO A DEAD BATTERY, AND ISSUES WITH LOCKING AND KNOWING IF THE DOOR IS REALLY CLOSED. THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT EVEN CAME ON ONCE WHEN THE CAR WAS STANDING AND DOOR HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE WATER PUMP THAT CAUSED THE FLUID TO LEAK INTO THE ENGINE. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.

DOOR AJAR LIGHT WONT GO OFF. WILL NOT ALLOW THE DOORS TO LOCK WHILE DRIVING AND THE LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TRACY FORD (209-229-4006, LOCATED AT 3500 AUTO PLAZA WAY, TRACY, CA 953040) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR NO LONGER IS WORKING. SAY MY VEHICLE HAS THE DRIVER DOOR OPEN EVEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED. IT IS CAUSING ISSUES WITH MY BATTERY DUE TO THE DOME LIGHT STAYING ON. IT ALSO WILL NOT STAY LOCKED, WHEN EVER I HIT THE LOCK BUTTON IT AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS ITSELF.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NO RECALL WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000. *TT UPDATED 8/20/18*JB
REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE SENSOR LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CONTINUALLY SAYS DOOR OPEN AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. THIS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTS NIGHTTIME VISIBILITY AND CREATES UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS.
FORD EDGE 2011 - DOOR AJAR WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. VERY POOR CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PART. THE DOOR SENSOR IS LOCATED IN THE DOOR LATCH. THE DOOR AJAR WILL NOT LET YOU LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS AND ALSO KEEPS YOUR OVERHEAD DOME LIGHT ON THEREFORE DRAINING YOUR CAR BATTERY. FORD SHOULD RECALL THIS AS THEY KNOW IT IS A HUGE PROBLEM AND A DEFECTIVE PART. THIS CAN HAPPEN ON ALL DOORS AND AT $500 EACH YOU ARE HAVING TO PAY $2,000.00 JUST TO KEEP THIS FROM DRAINING YOUR BATTERY. HOW CAN ANYONE THINK THIS IS OK? I NEVER EVEN USE MY BACK SEAT AND MY CAR ONLY HAS 83,000 MILES. IF YOU HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY , STRANGE IT DOES NOT COVER THIS. YOU CAN ONLY BUY THIS PART FROM FORD. THIS IS NOT RIGHT . FORD USED FAULTY PARTS., YET THEY SEEM TO THINK IT'S OK BECAUSE THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS BECAUSE NO ONE DIED. IS THAT WHAT IS TAKES TO HAVE A RECALL ? FORD KNOWS THIS IS WRONG, YET WILL NOT RECALL BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR SWITCH DOES NOT OPERATE PROPERLY CAUSING FALSE INDICATION THAT DOOR IS NOT CLOSED. WARNING INDICATOR CAN BE OVERRIDDEN BUT THIS CAN CAUSE A POTENTIAL HAZARD IF DRIVER ROUTINELY IGNORES INDICATOR AND THE DOOR IS NOT ACTUALLY LATCHED. BASED ON MY ON LINE SEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. I CONSIDER THIS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FOR A POTENTIAL RECALL. THIS CONDITION EXISTS WHILE THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR DOES NOTHING AND THE LIGHT REMAINING ON IS INTERMITTENT, WITH NO RHYME OR REASON. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED, AND THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON FOR ABOUT 60 SECONDS, THEN GO OUT. THIS IS ESPECIALLY BOTHERSOME WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AS IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. ADDITIONALLY, ALL DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHILE THE CAR IS ON THE ROAD. WHEN PARKED, WITH ALL DOORS CLOSED, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL REMAIN ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES - UP TO 20 THAT I'VE WITNESSED. THE CAR ALARM WILL ALSO BE TRIGGERED AFTER SOME TIME. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY ALREADY ONCE AND HAVE SPENT CLOSE TO $1000 TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED BUT THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PREVENT THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT FROM STAYING ON.
FOR MONTHS, THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON A DAILY BASIS. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AJAR, RANDOMLY UNLOCKING DOORS/INTERIOR & EXTERIOR LIGHTS FLASH/ ALARM GOES OFF AND DASH/TOUCH SCREEN GOES ON/OFF. SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAN RANDOMLY COME ON AT NIGHT... CAR HAS TO BE LEFT UNLOCKED OR DOORS RANDOMLY UNLOCK THEMSELVES.. AND BATTERY DIES BECAUSE LIGHTS AND ALARMS GO ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME...ALL CAUSED BY THIS ISSUE. AFRAID THIS MAY CAUSE OTHER ISSUES, POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD IF THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE. FORD WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY HAVEN'T HAD ENOUGH COMPLAINTS. THEY GAVE ME A CASE # AFTER THE FIFTH MONTH OF CALLING THEM, ONLY TO DENY IT AFTER I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. FRUSTRATED!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
I HAVE BEEN SMELLING FUEL/GAS OR SULFUR LIKE SMELL IN MY SUV TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER IN RICHMOND, CA 3 TIMES STARTING IN APRIL 2017, JAN 2019 AND AGAIN SEPT 2019 FINALLY I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A PTU UNIT EACH TIME I TOOK IT NEED THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM. IT HAS BECOME VERY BAD AND MORE OFTEN MY CAR DOES NOT LEAK GAS. I AM REALLY CONCERN BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO TAKE MY GRANDDAUGHTER TO SCHOOL PLUS I AM OVER 70 YRS AND WORRY IF SOMEONE RUNS INTO ME WILL MY CAR CATCH ON FIRE OR ONE DAY IT WILL CATCH ON FIRE IT HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY SOMETIMES IF I'M DRIVING UP A HILL OR FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME (MAYBE AN HOUR OR SO) AND IT ONLY HAPPEN WHEN I AM DRIVING AND THE SMELL FILLS MY ENTIRE CAR THAT I HAVE TO LET ALL THE WINDOWS DOWN AND ONCE I GET HOME THE WHOLE CAR SMELLS TO THE POINT I GET SICK (NAUSEA) EYES BURN AND A HEADACHE. I HAVE BEEN SO DISCUSSED WITH DEALERSHIP THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DETECT THIS PROBLEM 2 YRS AGO. I AM SO SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NOT BE A RECALL ON THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM BY FORD.

DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH IS DEFECTIVE. THE DOOR AJAR SIGNAL ILLUMINATES, BUT THE DOOR IS NOT AJAR OR IF IT IS CANNOT BE CLOSED.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AND WONT GO OFF AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. DOOR IS FOR SURE SHUT AND LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. THIS IS DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WITH SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON, THIS KEEP LIGHTS IN THE VEHICLE ON AND WILL NOT ALLOW DOORS IN VEHICLE TO BE LOCKED WHILE CAR IS MOVING. FORD SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM THROUGH A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR REMAINED OPEN AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR. DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY AND WILL SOMETIMES GO OUT AFTER OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL COME ON AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN STATIONARY FOR BOTH SHORT AND LONG PERIODS OF TIME. THE DOME LIGHT WILL STAY ON IF THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. WE HAD THE SAME ISSUE HAPPEN WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED. THIS IS APPARENTLY A DEFECTIVE PART FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT REPLACED.
I NOW HAVE HAD 2 DOOR SENSORS GO BAD. I KNOW OF MANY PEOPLE WITH FAULTY SENSORS. THIS NOT ONLY IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE DOME LIGHTS NEVER GO OUT, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW THE TRUE POSITION OF THE DOORS. THE CARS DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER YOU GET OUT AND LOCK IT CAUSING DEAD BATTERIES! I'VE HAD TO REPLACE TWO BATTERIES AND A DOOR SENSOR ALREADY. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. NOT TO MENTION VERY EXPENSIVE. I JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE AND HAD A BABY.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SWITCH THAT SENSES WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. THEREFORE THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN AT ALL TIMES. THIS CAUSES THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS TO STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE, AND ALSO PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. ONLINE SEARCHES INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT'S NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE DESIGN OF THE DOOR SWITCH SEEMS FAULTY, AS IT REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT LABOR TO DISASSEMBLE THE DOOR AND REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY.
FAULTY DOOR LATCH ON DRIVER SIDE. DASH DISPLAY INDICATES DOOR AJAR WHEN IT IS CLOSED. BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND RUNS DOWN THE BATTERY. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH DOME LIGHT ON. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THIS IS A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS AND OTHER MODEL FORD VEHICLES.
DRIVING IN MIDDLE LANE ON HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR AND SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED AND COAST TO SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY. AFTER TURNING THE CAR ON ANF OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES, THE CAR RESPONDED WHEN I PUSHED ACCELERATOR. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A 1/10 OF A MILE TO A LINCOLN DEALER AND LEAVE MY CAR THERE. AFTER GOOGLING THE ISSUE, I SEE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE WITH FORDS, SOME HAVE BEEN RECALLED, SOME HAVE HAD WARRANTIES EXTENDED TO FIX..(EVEN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT EXISTS!) BUT, I RECEIVED NO NOTIFICATION FROM FORD THAT THIS COULD BE AN ISSUE. I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT QUITE A FEW PEOPLE SAY THEY WERE IN ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS ISSUE.THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I NARROWLY ESCAPED CAUSING A MULTI CAR ACCIDENT!! FORD NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO FIX THIS ISSUE IMMEDIATELY AND TO NOTIFY ALL THOSE IN DANGER BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED!!
I RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE BREAK BOOSTER AND HAD IT REPAIRED AUGUST 2015. IN DECEMBER 2016, THE PART FAILED AGAIN, AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN AND WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, HAD TO PAY 700.00 FOR REPAIR. ON MARCH 15, 2017, PART FAILED, WHILE I WAS PARKING AGAIN, WHICH IT IS COVERED BY WARRANTY, HOWEVER, THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO CONTINUALLY FAIL AND FORD DOES NOT WANT TO RESPOND TO MY CONCERN.
THROTTLE BODY RECALL. FORD HAS REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY TWICE ALREADY AND MY CAR IS ONCE AGAIN ACTING UP. I PRESS THE GAS AND THE CAR DOES NOT GO. HAS CAUSED ME TO HAVE SOME VERY CLOSE CALLS TO GETTING INTO SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. BROUGHT MY CAR INTO FORD ONCE AGAIN AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I HAD STOPPED TO TAKE A LEFT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, A TRUCK WAS COMING FROM THE RIGHT. I GO TO PRESS THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULDN'T GO AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN FELT LIKE IT KICKED INTO GEAR. I HAD ROLLED FORWARD SLIGHTLY AND WAS NEARLY HIT BY THIS ONCOMING TRUCK. THE NEXT TIME I PRESSED THE GAS TO GO, IT WENT JUST FINE.
BACK UP CAMERA IS ONLY WORKING INTERMITTENTLY AND IF THE CAMERA DOES WORK- MOST OF THE TIME THE IMAGE IS UPSIDE DOWN. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ONLINE I FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. MANY SUGGESTING RESETTING THE MYTOUCH SYSTEM TO FACTORY SETTINGS TO RESET CAMERA. I DID THIS- IT DID NOT WORK. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER TODAY AND WAS TOLD CAMERA S BAD- COST OF NEW CAMERA $790!!! IF THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR MANY PEOPLE FORD SHOULD BE ASSISTING WITH REPAIRS AND FIXING ISSUE.
