TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE SEIZED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,412.
DRIVER DOOR IS LATCHED BUT DOME LIGHT REMAINS ON. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON. WILL NOT SHUT OFF , HAVE TO SHUT DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND DOME LIGHTS TURN OFF. TURNS ON RANDOMLY EVEN WHILE IN DRIVING GEAR. LIGHT WILL EVEN STAY ON WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF . WHICH IF NOT CAUGHT MIGHT DRAIN THE BATTERY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN A DAY . TO EVERY DAY. EVEN AT NIGHT TIME WHICH CAUSED IT HARD TO DRIVE.
DRIVES DOOR AJAR SENSOR DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK LEAVING INTERIOR LIGHTS ON WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD AS YOU CANNOT SEE OUTSIDE AT NIGHT DUE TO THE GLARE FROM THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON AS A RESULT OF THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
DOOR SENSOR INDICATES DOOR OPEN EVEN WHEN MANUAL CLOSURE OF THE LATCH MECHANISM. HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE DEAD BATTERIES AND MAKES VEHICLE UNRELIABLE. FORD DENIES EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE BECAUSE THEY CLAIM ITS A "KNOWN MANUFACTURES DEFECT"
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHTS STAYS ON. THIS RESULTS IN THE DOME LIGHT STAYING ON WHILE DRIVING FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME OR AFTER THE CAR IS OFF. DRAINED THE BATTERY ONCE. ALSO, THE DOOR CAN NOT BE LOCKED. ON A MUCH MORE SERIOUS NOTE, THE DOME LIGHT SUDDENLY COME ON WHILE I'M DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE I'M UNABLE TO SEE CARS AROUND ME VERY WELL. I WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN FEB, 2015 AND FIXED IT ONCE. HOWEVER, THIS HAPPENS AGAIN RECENTLY. I REALLY THINK FORD SHOULD ADDRESS THIS ISSUE! *TR
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOORS ARE CLOSED. THIS THEN DRAINS BATTERY AND LEAVES DRIVER STRANDED. IT ALSO KEEPS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FROM SHUTTING DOWN BECAUSE THE SYSTEM THINKS THE DOOR IS AJAR. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR IS RUNNING OR NOT THIS HAPPENS.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR 2015 IN THE LATE WINTER. FROM THE TIME I BOUGHT IT THE DRIVERS DOOR SENSOR WOULD SAY ITS AJAR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER IT WOULD BE ABOUT $1000 TO FIX. TONIGHT MY AUTO DOOR UNLOCK DOESN'T WORK AND NEITHER DOES THE KEY UNLOCK THE DOOR. I'M STRANDED 30 MILES FROM HOME. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL BE LETTING ANYONE WHO ASKS TO BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS ABOUT ANY FORD PRODUCTS.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON, ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED AND THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON ALSO. VISIBILITY IS HINDERED BECAUSE OF THE DOME LIGHT. HAD THE PROBLEM REPAIRED A FEW YEARS BACK AND NOW THE SAME PROBLEM HAS REOCCURRED. FAULTY DOOR LATCH WAS DIAGNOSED THE LAST TIME.
THIS VEHICLE HAS AN INTERNAL WATER (COOLANT) PUMP THAT FAILED WITH NO WARNING OR INDICATIONS OF ANY TYPE. WHEN THE PUMP FAILS THE ENGINE OVERHEATS RAPIDLY AND THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AND LOCKS UP. AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE, I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY, FORTUNATELY TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT, OR THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS AND CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR LATCH ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE FAILED TO LOCK PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,500.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED AND STAYS ON. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK EVEN IF MANUALLY ACTUATED. DOOR IS ACTUALLY FULLY CLOSED BUT NOT LOCKED. WARNING LIGHT IS ACTUATED WHEN CLOSING DOOR AND STARTING VEHICLE. CAR CAN BE DRIVEN BUT DOORS ARE UNLOCKED.
THE DRIVER DOOR SENSOR IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR NOTIFICATION REMAINS ON ONCE THE DOOR IS CLOSED, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF. I ALSO CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS. I END UP DRIVING WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHT ON BECAUSE IT WILL NOT GO OUT. AT NIGHT TIME, THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS, NOT TO MENTION IT DRAINS THE BATTERY BY STAYING ON WHEN NOT BEING DRIVEN. WHEN I EXIT THE CAR AND SHUT THE DOOR, IT TAKES ME UP TO FIVE MINUTES SOMETIMES TO OPEN AND RE-SHUT THE DOOR TO EVENTUALLY GET THE SENSOR TO REGISTER AND THE LIGHT TO GO OFF. IT'S RIDICULOUS AND FRUSTRATING. I HOPE THAT THIS ISSUE WILL LEAD TO A RECALL BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. MY CAR JUST HIT 62K MILES. I SAW OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AT THE SAME MILEAGE.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. ALSO I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE CAR WITH THE SECURITY CODE FROM THE OUTSIDE THE CAR I HAD TO USE THE KEY. I WAS PARK WHEN I FIRST NOTICE THE PASSCODE WAS NOT WORKING THEN I USED THE KEY I CLOSED ALL THE DOORS AND STILL SAID ONE DOOR WAS OPEN, SO I MAKE SURE ALL WERE CLOSE. I REALIZE THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG SO I JUST DROVE THE CAR LIKE THAT. ALSO I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR SO I DON'T KNOW IF THAT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.
LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. THIS RESULTS IN THE DOME LIGHT STAYING ILLUMINATED. WHEN PARKED THIS DRAINS YOUR BATTERY AND CAN LEAVE YOU STRANDED. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE DOME LIGHT GREATLY HINDERS YOUR VISION. I CANNOT VERIFY IF THE DOOR IS FULLY LATCHING WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE A RECALL! *TR
MY PASSENGER DOOR INDICATES THAT WHEN CLOSED THAT IT IS NOT. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND SO DOES THE DASH INDICATOR. IT HAS ALSO DONE IT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. CREEPY, SINCE I'M DISABLED AND HAVE HANDS CONTROLS TO DRIVE. SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RECLOSE THE DOOR. PLUS ONCE THE LIGHTS COME ON I CAN'T SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR

MY PROBLEM IS WITH A 2011 FORD EDGE. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. THE DOME LIGHTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO OUT AND IS HAZARDOUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. I HAD TO REPLACE MY BATTERY AND NOW I AM AFRAID MY NEW BATTERY WILL RUN DOWN AND LEAVE ME STRANDED AWAY FROM HOME. *TR
THE DOOR AJAR SENSORS ARE ERRATIC AND OFTEN REPORT FALSE AJAR CONDITIONS. THIS RESULTS IN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS NOT GOING OUT UNTIL YOU REACH A CERTAIN FORWARD SPEED AND THE THE DOORS WILL NOT STAY LOCKED WITH THE POWER LOCKS, YOU PRESS LOCK AND THEY UNLOCK. THE LIGHTS ALSO COME ON RANDOMLY WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED. THESE SENSORS HAVE A 100% FAILURE RATE AND ARE PART OF THE DOOR LATCH SO THEY ARE EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. IT MAKES IT VERY DANGEROUS MANEUVERING THE CAR AT NIGHT WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON AND IT IS PRETTY UNSAFE TO NOT BE ABLE TO LOCK ALL THE DOORS AND HAVE THEM STAY LOCKED.
DOOR AJAR WARNING FRONT DRIVER PASSENGER DOORS REMAIN ON WITH DOORS CLOSED. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AND INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHILE CAR IS STOPPED AND IN MOTION.

DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND I THE YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND FELT VERY UNDER POWERED. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT. AFTER RESTARTING THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SCENARIO. HOPEFULLY FORD MAKES IT RIGHT AND HAS A RECALL FOR THIS COMMON PROBLEM. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND POWER TRAIN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
DOOR AJAR ISSUE. ALREADY KILLED ONE BATTERY. ALSO IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE HAD TO DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IT'S DARK OUT AND THE LIGHTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHUT OFF. NOT GOING TO PAY ALMOST 500 DOLLARS TO HAVE THIS FIXED WHEN I HEAR OF TONS OF PEOPLE FIXING IT, FOR THE ISSUE TO COME RIGHT BACK WITH A NEW PART.
"DOOR AJAR" LIGHT REMAINS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THIS CAUSES CAR DOORS TO STAY UNLOCKED, DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON, DRAINING MY BATTERY, UNABLE TO USE THE AUTO CAR START. DANGEROUS FOR MY SMALL CHILDREN WHO CAN NOW OPEN THE DOOR WHILE I AM DRIVING
THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SENSOR IS BROKEN, CAUSING THE CAR TO KEEP INTERIOR LIGHTS ON FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS ON AND DRIVING. THIS CAUSES DIFFICULTY DRIVING IN THE DARK AS VISION IS HINDERED. THE LIGHTS ALSO STAY ON FOR 10-15 MINUTES AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND LOCKED, AND WILL ALSO COME ON AT INTERMITTENT PERIODS OF TIME WHILE THE CAR IS OFF. THIS PROBLEM CAUSES THE CAR BATTERY TO DRAIN, RESULTING IN A DEAD CAR BATTERY. THE CAR DOORS DO NOT LOCK ONCE THE CAR IS ON AND THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT IS INDICATED. THE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT MAY COME ON EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN IN A DAY OR MAY ONLY COME ON PERIODICALLY OVER SEVERAL DAYS. WHEN ON, THE LIGHT INDICATOR WILL STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SENSOR - THE SENSOR COMES ON SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK EVEN THOUGH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED (NO ONE RIDES IN THE BACK SEAT SO I KNOW IT IS NOT BEING OPENED MANUALLY). THIS STARTED HAPPENING AROUND NOVEMBER 2016. I AM NOT SURE IF THE ISSUE IS WITH THE DOOR LATCH OR THE SENSOR ITSELF. WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON, WHICH IS DISTRACTING, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. I AM WORRIED THAT THE DOOR MAY FLY OPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I SAW THERE ARE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED SO FORD CAN FIX IT FOR FREE.
MY PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING OR PARKED.
PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING WHEN DOOR APPEARS TO BE CLOSED TIGHTLY. AUTOMATIC LOCKS WILL NOT ENGAGE WHILE IN DRIVE BECAUSE WARNING LIGHT INDICATES PASSENGER DOOR IS AJAR. ADDITIONALLY, INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHEN IN DRIVE DUE TO PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING WHICH PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH TIME. BATTERY CAR HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON ALL NIGHT. OPENING AND RE-SHUTTING DOOR IS INCONSISTENT FIX. WD-40 NOT EFFECTIVE. NOT USING PASSENGER DOOR ONCE WARNING LIGHT TURNS OFF IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO KEEP DOOR CLOSED. PASSENGER DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED WHENEVER KEY IS IN IGNITION. WHEN CAR IS OFF AND KEY IS OUT, INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON INDEFINITELY, CAR IS ONLY ABLE TO BE LOCKED WHEN CAR IS OFF AND KEY IS OUT OF IGNITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD EDGE. WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR HAD A CHIP INCORRECTLY INSTALLED, WHICH CAUSED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO DISPLAY "DOOR AJAR" EVEN AFTER THE DOOR REMAINED CLOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTING REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. SAM PACK'S FIVE STAR FORD IN CARROLLTON, TEXAS WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO FORD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
COMING TO A STOP, PUTTING VEHICLE IN PARK, WARNING TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK EVEN THOUGH ITS ALREADY IN PARK. IT ALSO HAS THE DOOR AJAR PROBLEM I TEMPORARILY FIX WITH SPRAY LUBE
THE LATCH DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND CANNOT RECOGNIZE WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS RESULTS IN ME BEING UNABLE TO LOCK MY DOOR AND IT LEAVES THE DOME LIGHTS ON UNTIL IT TIMES OUT.
DONE LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF. DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR SHOES TO BE OPEN WHEN IT IS CLOSED.
DRIVERS DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT COMES ON INSTRUMENT PANEL EVEN AFTER DOOR IS SHUT FIRMLY. MUST OPEN AND SHUT DOOR SEVERAL TIMES TO CLEAR THIS WARNING. THIS PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY ON 12/20/2012. PROBLEM HAS RETURNED THIS PAST WEEK OF SINCE 10/19/2016. ORIGINAL OWNER OF VEHICLE.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT KEEP BEING ON AND I CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THE DOOR IS SHUT BUT LIGHT STAYS ON. IT KEEPS RUNNING MY BATTERY DOWN AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR 6 MONTHS.
INTERNAL WATER PUMP WENT OUT. NO SENSOR SAYING ITS BAD. WHEN IT OCCURS THE FLUID DROPS IN TO OIL PAN, SUCKS IN TO ENGINE AND DESTROYS THE ENGINE IN A MATTER OF MINUTES. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND CAR DIED IN A MINUTE.
DOOR AJAR WARNING MESSAGE ON WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED. CAUSES INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON 10 MINUTES BEFORE TURNING OFF WHEN PARKED. INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL TURN ON AND ALARM HORN WILL SOUND INTERMITTENTLY WHEN PARKED. I PULLED THE FUSE FOR THE HORN RELAY, DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL SOUND. I FEEL IT'S UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT A HORN. WHILE DRIVING DOORS DO NOT LOCK IN FACT THEY UNLOCK AFTER LOCKING THEM WITH LOCK SWITCH. *TR
I HAVE ALREADY FILED A COMPLAINT BACK IN 2014 CONCERNING THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SWITCH. THIS WEEK I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND WAS ELATED ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE RECALL WAS MY FORD FOCUS AND FORD FUSION NOT THE FORD EDGE! THE FOCUS AND FUSION ARE BEING RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME SWITCH THAT THE DEALER CHARGED ME $389.24 TO FIX IN MY FORD EDGE.
MY CAR IT OVER HEATING AND ANY WARNING LIGHT OR ALARM ACTIVE. I DON'T KNOW THE TEMPERATURE FOR MY CAR IS HIGH. THE DAMAGE INCLUDE THE MOTOR, REFRIGERATION SYSTEM, THERMOSTAT, FAN. I CAN RECLAIMED ANYTHING?
ON OCTOBER 2016, THE DRIVER WAS WESTBOUND ON 2 LANE ROUTE 40 NEAR SPRINGFIELD, OHIO. A MEDICAL CONDITION CAUSED THE DRIVER TO PASS OUT. THE AUTO VEERED OFF THE ROAD INITIALLY TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES PER HOUR. IT CROSSED THROUGH A YARD AND HIT NOSE FIRST INTO A HILL. ALMOST $10,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE WAS CAUSED TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIRBAG DID NOT INFLATE AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD AND FACIAL INJURIES DUE TO CONTACT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DRIVER ALSO SUSTAINED DEEP BRUSING TO THE CHEST DUE TO THE SEAT BELT RESTRAINT. WE ARE INTERESTED TO KNOW WHY THE AIRBAG DID NOT INFLATE AND PROTECT THE DRIVER. THE HEAD INJURIES AND VISION PROBLEMS CONTINUE TO RESTRICT THE DRIVER FORM BEING ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN.

IN ADDITION, THE DOOR DID NOT REMAIN LOCKED AFTER BEING LOCKED USING THE KEY FOB. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE BATTERY DRAIN DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD POOR VISIBILITY DUE TO THE WARNING INDICATOR BEING ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATED BETWEEN 25-30 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
DOOR AJAR ALERT STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED WHICH KEEPS YOU FROM BEING ABLE TO LOCK YOUR DOORS WHILE IN THE VEHICLE. INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON, WHICH ILLUMINATES YOU AND THE COCKPIT. WITH ALERT IN THE ON POSITION, YOU ARE NOT ALERTED TO OTHER DOORS WHICH MAY BE AJAR. FAULTY LATCH.

THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF MY 2011 FORD EDGE CONTINUOUSLY SHOWS ON THE DASH THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT. I HAVE TO STOP, GET OUT OF THE CAR, OPEN AND CLOSE IT (SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES) TO GET IT TO SHUT OFF. DESPITE BEING VERY ANNOYING, IT IS ALSO CAUSING MY BATTERY TO WORK EXTRA HARD BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T GET THE WARNING INDICATOR TO SHUT OFF WHEN YOU PARK THE CAR, THE SEVERAL OF THE CAR LIGHTS WILL STAY ON. IT IS ALSO DISTRACTING TO SEE THIS WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WHILE DRIVING THE CAR.
2011 FORD EDGE LOST ALL POWER FROM THE THROTTLE WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, HAD A YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT, NO THROTTLE RESPONSE AND ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF WAITED ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND RESTARTED EVERYTHING WAS RUNNING FINE. DROVE THE EDGE ABOUT 10 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE TO MY EXIT, AFTER COMING TO A STOP AND READY TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE HIGHWAY I HIT THE GAS AND GOT OUT INTO THE INTERSECTION AND THE YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN AND LOST ALL POWER LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WITH TRAFFIC COMING BOTH WAYS. AFTER TRAFFIC STOPPED AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY MOVE TO THE SHOULDER I SHUT THE CAR DOWN AGAIN AND CALLED A FRIEND TO COME HELP ME. AFTER SITTING FOR 10-20 MINUTES, MY FRIEND SHOWED UP AND THE EDGE RESTARTS AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THANKFUL MY PARENTS WEREN'T DRIVING OR CHILDREN WEREN'T IN THE CAR AND NO ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE THROTTLE BODY IS TO BLAME AND ALL THE SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE EDGE, MUSTANG, FLEX, EXPLORER AND LINCOLN MKX. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DANGEROUS! GREAT VEHICLE BUT POOR QUALITY OF ELECTRONIC PARTS I HOPE AND PRAY THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO SOMEONE WHO PANICS WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE. VEHICLE WILL NOT BE DROVE UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS FIXED. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED...THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS REMAIN ON AND DOES NOT TURN OFF UNTIL VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE AND HAS MOVED MORE THAN ABOUT 250 FEET. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN A LIT DOME LIGHT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS WEEKEND THE BATTERY DIED AS A DIRECT CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE! FORD JUST ISSUED A RECALL FOR 1.5 MILLION DEFECTIVE VEHICLES AND THIS YEAR NEEDS TO BE ADDED ASAP. I REFUSE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING OUT OF POCKET THAT THE MANUFACTURE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR...PLEASE HELP!
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR INDICATOR CAME ON AND AT FIRST IT WOULD TAKE ME A FEW TIMES SHUTTING THE DOOR FOR IT COME OFF. NOW ITS TO THE POINT WHERE IT DOES NOT TURN OFF AND KEEPS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON UNTIL I DRIVE FORWARD A BIT, THEN TURN OFF. THAT'S NOT GOOD AT NIGHT FOR SURE. NOW WHEN MY CAR IS LOCKED THE PANIC ALARM GOES OFF ALL TIMES OF THE DAY AND NIGHT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY (THANK GOODNESS) ONE NIGHT AND THE LIGHTS TURNED ON AND THE CAR STARTED DINGING FOR THE DOOR. WHY IS THIS SOMETHING THAT IS NOT RECALLED??? IT IS DANGEROUS FOR THE LIGHT TO STAY ON AT NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY IF MY DOOR REALLY ISN'T LATCHED. THE DOOR ADJAR LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY HAS BEEN CONSTANT PROBLEM SINCE WE BOUGHT CAR IN 2012. FIRST TIME WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAIID THEY FIXED IT. HOWEVER WITHIN WEEKS OF WARRANTY EXPIRING THE SAME PROBLEM ON SAME DOOR HAPPENED AND HAS BEEN CONSTANT SINCE THEN.
DRIVER'S DOOR ALWAYS INDICATES IT IS AJAR, EVEN WHEN CLOSED. THIS PREVENTS INTERIOR LIGHTS FROM GOING OUT UNTIL VEHICLE REACHES SPEED. THIS MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. THERE IS NO MANUAL WAY TO TURN THE LIGHTS OFF. I WAS FORCED TO BACK INTO THE ROAD BLIND ONE NIGHT - WITH A TRAILER - BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE OUT OF THE CAR. IT ALSO WILL NOT LET YOU LOCK THE DOORS WHILE DRIVING AND DRAINS THE BATTERY WHEN YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. I HAD THIS REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE AT A FORD DEALERSHIP BUT THE PROBLEM RETURNED 4 MONTHS LATER.
DOOR AJAR LIGHTS STAYING ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED! THEY GO ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS, ALARM WILL NOT SET, INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AND RUN BATTERY DOWN CONSTANTLY.
