BOUGHT A 2012 FORD EDGE WITH 28,000 MILES DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYED ON EVEN WHEN DOOR WAS SHUT. FORD DEALER SAID THE LATCH JUST NEEDED CLEANING. THE WORK ORDER STATES ( CUSTOMER STATES, DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME ADVISE ON NEEDED REPAIR- JUST PURCHASE VEHICLE FROM US. CHECKED WITH IDS AND DRIVERS FRONT DOOR AJAR SWITCH STAYING ON ALL THE TIME, FOUND TSB #15-0013 FOR CLEANING ELECTRONICS WITH SPECIAL TOOL FOR REPAIR, PERFORMED TSB#15-0013, REPAIR VERIFIED)NOW 3 MONTHS LATER SAME PROBLEM. DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON BELL SOUNDS AND INTERIOR LIGHTS COME ON. THIS IS A CERTIFIED EDGE UNTIL MARCH 2016. GLARE FROM DOME LIGHT DISTRACTING WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM NOW.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH SWITCH. DOOR AJAR WARNING CAME ON DASH INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF DANGEROUS DRIVING AT NIGHT. SOMETIMES IT GOES OFF AND THEN IT'S OK. COST TO REPAIR $550.00 COMPLETE RIP OFF.
AT 46,000 MILES THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SENSOR ISN'T OPERATING PROPERLY. WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT, THE SENSOR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. THIS CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON UNTIL YOU GET TO MORE THAN 15MPH. IT ALSO CAUSES BEEPING FROM THE WARNING INDICATOR TELLING YOU TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THIS SENSOR IS PART OF THE ENTIRE LATCH ASSEMBLY & NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AFTER 36,000 MILES. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING AS EACH TIME THE SENSOR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN AND YOU COME TO A STOP, THE WARNING INDICATOR BEEPS AND SAYS TO SHIFT INTO PARK.
WHILE GETTING IN MY CAR I REALIZED AFTER I SHUT THE DOOR AT STILL SAYS DOOR AJAR ON DASH. AND NOW ITS GETTING WORSE IT WONT GO OFF CONSTANTLY STAYS ON AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO LOCK DOORS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND ALL THE DOORS UNLOCKED WITHOUT ACTIVATION. A WARNING FROM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT SHOULD PARK AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DRIVER DOOR AJAR SWITCH MALFUNCTIONING. DOOR AJAR DISPLAY MESSAGE STAYS ON WHILE DOOR IS CLOSED, PARK/SHIFT INDICATOR COMES ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME AND THAT THE VEHICLES DOOR COULD NOT BE SECURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SENSOR AND LATCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
BRAKES DID NOT INITIALLY RESPOND WHEN BACKING UP. BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND TOOK TREMENDOUS FORCE TO EVEN BEGIN TO SLOW VEHICLE. SAME OCCURRENCE WHEN MOVING FORWARD AT SLOW SPEED. AT FASTER SPEED, BRAKES WERE VERY GRABBY AND INCONSISTENT. IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED FOR SAFETY AND TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP. SERVICE TECH. KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT ISSUE WAS JUST BY DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS. INFORMED ME CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT REPAIR WOULD BE COVERED BY FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N02 TO REPLACE BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS SEEMS LIKE A RECALL SITUATION AS EVIDENCED BY MANY OTHER ACCOUNTS OF THIS BRAKE FAILURE BY ME AND MANY OTHERS. I WAS JUST FORTUNATE IT DIDN'T OCCUR ON HIGHWAY THE DAY BEFORE.
DOORS ARE CLOSED AND LIGHT SHOWS RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR OPEN WHICH LEAVES DOME LIGHTS ON AND WASTES BATTERY WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR WARNING STAYS ON EVEN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE DOOR.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS NOT RESPONDING: (JUST LIKE THE OTHER FORD CUSTOMERS RESPONDING) THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN. SAFETY ISSUE THAT THERE DOOR IS UNLOCKED AS WELL. THIS KEEPS INTERIOR LIGHTS ON, DISTRACTING AT NIGHT, WHICH COULD CAUSE GLARE. I CANT PARK MY LEAVE ANYTHING IN MY CAR WHEN GOING ANYWHERE BECAUSE CARE IS UNABLE TO LOCK. AND THE VEHICLE THIS CAR HAS 30000 MILES ON IT. I LIVE IN AREAS WHERE THERE IS CARJACKINGS FEELING VERY UNSAFE IN MY 2012 FORD EDGE WITH 30000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS SO REDICULIOUS THAT FORD & NHTSA IS LOOKING INTO THIS WITH ALL THE FORD VEHICLES COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE> GET STRANDED BECAUSE DOOR AJAR CAUSES BATTERY TO RUN DOWN.
THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE IT STARTED OUT EVERY NOW AND THEN. NOW ITS CONSTANT THIS MORNING RAN MY BATTERY DOWN CAUSING CRAZY THINGS TO GO ON WITH ELECTRICAL. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON SO AT NIGHT DRIVING IS BOTHERSOME, AND THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT WORK.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SHOWS ON DASHBOARD INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN ATTEMPTING TOOCK CAR, IT GIVES A DOUBLE SIGNAL AS IF IT IS NOT LOCKED. LIGHTS STAY ON IN THE CAR.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SWITCH MALFUNCTIONING. DOOR AJAR DISPLAY MESSAGE STAYS ON WHILE DOOR IS CLOSED AND THE RESULT IS THAT THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE! THIS ISSUE ORIGINALLY OCCURRED AT APPROXIMATELY 20K MILES AND DEALER REPLACED THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH UNDER WARRANTY. BUT ISSUE IS HAPPENING AGAIN 2 YEARS LATER.
OUR 2012 FORD EDGE DASHBOARD INDICATES "DOOR AJAR" WHEN THE DOORS ARE COMPLETELY SHUT. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND WILL CAUSE BOTH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN LIT AND THE FACTORY ALARM TO ACTIVATE. WE PAID THE LOCAL FORD DEALER $135.60 (9/02/15 INVOICE ATTACHED) FOR THEIR REPAIR OF THE ISSUE BUT THE ERRONEOUS "DOOR AJAR" WARNING CONTINUES TO OCCUR. NOW WE TREAT THE PROBLEM OURSELVES BY SCOURING THE DOOR LATCH WITH CONTACT CLEANER AND A TOOTHBRUSH. BUT LIKE THE DEALER FIX, THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY. THE "SAFETY" ISSUE FOR US IS THE PROSPECT OF A DEAD BATTERY INTERRUPTING WHAT WOULD IDEALLY BE A PROMPT EXIT FROM A PARKING GARAGE, TRAIN STATION OR AIRPORT PARKING LOT, LATE AT NIGHT. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAS THUS FAR DONE NOTHING TO EXTEND THEIR WARRANTY OR ISSUE A REPLACEMENT FOR THE FAULTY LATCH MECHANISM. MANY AMATEUR FIXES CAN BE FOUND ON YOUTUBE. WHY THEY HAD TO OUTFIT A LATCH WITH FICKLE ELECTRONICS WHILE DOING AWAY WITH A TRUSTY DOOR JAMB PLUNGER SWITCH IS BEYOND ME!
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MILES AN HOUR ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, STEER AND BREAK. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO LIMP OFF THE SHOULDER WHERE I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND IT IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED. TRAFFIC WAS SLOW SO NO INJURY WAS CAUSED BUT NEXT TIME I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY. MY LOCAL FORD DEALER IS TRYING TO TELL ME THAT IT IS A POWER STEERING PROBLEM AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN LISTEN TO THE FACT THAT THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER.
I WAS DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN THE FAR LEFT LANE WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING LOST ALL FORWARD MOMENTUM. A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND IT IMMEDIATELY SLOWED TO ABOUT 1 MPH. I HAD TO CROSS FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP SAFELY IN THE RIGHT MEDIAN. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON. READING ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY. BEING THAT THE CAR STOPS IMMEDIATELY AND NOT TO A GRADUAL STOP THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN OF BEING HIT BY OTHER DRIVERS WHILE TRYING TO GET TO SAFETY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR SENSOR ILLUMINATED ERRONEOUSLY, INDICATING THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT CLOSED. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, AN AUDIBLE ALARM WOULD ACTIVATE AND A WARNING MESSAGE TO PARK THE VEHICLE WOULD DISPLAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,700.
RECEIVING "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WARNING WHILE DRIVING, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SECURE. AT ONE POINT I WOULD LOCK THE DOORS AND AS I DROVE THE WARNING WOULD SOUND AND THE LOCKS WOULD POP OPEN. THE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED ONCE BEFORE IN 2012 BY THE DEALER WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. NOW THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE IT AGAIN.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR ALARM DISPLAYS CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON, SAFETY DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT ACIVATE WHEN DRIVING OFF...THIS HAS BEEN SERVICED BEFORE AND WILL BE OK FOR FEW MONTHS THEN WILL START AGAIN..HAVE PURCHASED BATTERY BECAUSE OF THIS
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED THE SENSOR IS ON AND I AM UNABLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE. IF I PARK THE CAR THE DOME LIGHT WILL STAY ON AND RUN THE BATTERY DOWN UNLESS I CLOSE THE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR MALFUNCTION. YOU MUST CLOSE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR AJAR ALARM GOES OFF. SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT GO OFF AND THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON, ALARM DINGS. WHEN PARKING CAR AND GETTING OUT, YOU CAN'T LOCK DOORS, DOME LIGHT STAYS ON. VERY FRUSTRATING. FORD DEALER SAYS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. CAR OUT OF WARRANTY. VERY EXPENSIVE TO HAVE FIXED.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR CENSOR WOULD NOT GO OFF DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY CLOSED. THIS CAUSED MY DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON, THE CAR SYMBOL TO STAY ILLUMINATED ON THE PANEL, THE DOORS TO STAY UNLOCKED, AND THE WARNING TONE TO SOUND WHILE DRIVING. ALL OF THESE ISSUES OCCUR WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE IN MOTION. I HAD THE PAR REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR $387 AND AFTER ONE YEAR AND TWO WEEKS THE PROBLEM HAS STARTED TO REOCCUR IN THE SAME FASHION.
BRAKE PEDAL HARD WHEN PUSHED. MAKES WHOOSHING SOUND WHEN HELD TO FLOOR. BRAKES WILL GRAB WHEN PUSHED HARD. HAVE NOTICED BRAKE PEDAL IS VERY HARD TO PUSH WHEN IN REVERSE. IT IS HARD TO STOP VEHICLE WHEN BACKING UP. AT TIMES AFTER HAVING CRUISE CONTROL SET, BRAKES DO NOT WANT TO WORK AT ALL.

THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.
THE DRIVERS DOOR CLOSURE SENSOR DOES NOT REGISTER THE DOOR BEING CLOSED.THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. WHEN THIS FAILURE OCCURS THE DASH WARNING SYSTEM INDICATES A WARNING TO PULL OVER AND CLOSE THE DOOR. SOMETIMES THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT DOES NOT SHUTOFF AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED.
2012 FORD EDGE DOOR LATCH, FORD EDGE DOOR AJAR ALERT/NOTIFICATION - FOR THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS THE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM THINKS A DOOR IS AJAR WHEN IN FACT IT IS NOT. THERE ARE DOZENS OF FORUMS REGARDING THIS VERY SAME ISSUE AND THAT DIRECT PEOPLE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THIS WEBSITE; AS MOST BELIEVE FORD SHOULD RECALL SAID VEHICLES TO CORRECT THE MANUFACTURING ERROR THAT IS SO BLATANTLY APPARENT. WE HAVE SINCE BOUGHT THE LATCH AND REPAIRED IT. THE PART COST US $101.15. WE FEEL LIKE WE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS. I LOVED MY VEHICLE BUT HAVE REALLY GOTTEN DISAPPOINTED IN IT AND FORD AS A WHOLE.

SENSOR ON PASSENGER DOOR IS SHOWING OPEN AN DOOR IS NOT OPEN AND INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ON AND RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN. HAD TO REPLACE BATTERY DUE TO INSIDE LIGHTS STAYING ON. DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN EXISTING VEHICLE. DRIVING AT NIGHT AND INSIDE LIGHT STAYS ON IS A DRIVING SAFETY FACTOR. CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES FOR THIS SAME REASON. UNABLE TO FIX IT. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. IN ADDITION, CHILDREN SEATED IN THE REAR SEATS WERE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS WHEN CHILD LOCK WAS ACTIVATED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR ALARM ALWAYS GOES OFF. CONSTANT DINGING, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 1 BATTERY ALREADY. DRIVING AT NIGHT, ESPECIALLY IN REVERSE, IS TERRIBLY DIFFICULT WITH THE LIGHTS ON. THE DOOR IS SECURELY SHUT, HOWEVER, THAT DOES NOT STOP THE ALARM. THE OTHER ISSUE I'VE HAD IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE BRAKES SO GOT THOSE FIXED AND THEN STOPPING WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. I HAD TO PUSH THE PEDAL ENTIRELY TO THE FLOOR TO COME TO A SLOW STOP. SHOULD I HAVE HAD TO COME TO A QUICK STOP, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE. MY HUSBAND DID SOME RESEARCH TO SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM SO WE WENT TO GET IT REPAIRED. HOWEVER, IT WAS COSTLY AND COULD HAVE BEEN A TOTAL DISASTER. THE CAR WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON. HAPPENS MORE IN WARM WEATHER THAN COLD. HAS CAUSE DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON OR COME ON INTERMITTENTLY . IF CAR NOT DRIVEN FOR A DAY OR TWO, HAS CAUSED BATTERY TO DRAIN COMPLETELY. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE HAS HAD TO BE CALLED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR. WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, CAR DOOR AJAR IS CONSTANTLY ON, AND ANYTIME YOU BREAK TO A NEAR STOP, THE ALARM BELL CHIMES.
DRIVERS DOOR AJAR LIGHT WONT GO OFF NO MATTER WHAT I DO TO IT. CAUSING THE DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON WHILE DRIVING AND NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS AT ALL. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO TRY CLEANING IT WITH SOME WD 40 AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK TO BRING IT IN AND THEY WILL RUN SOME TESTS ON IT WHICH WOULD COST ME OVER 300 BUCKS AND THEN THEY WOULD GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THE DOOR LATCH WHICH WOULD COST ME ANOTHER 200 DOLLARS OR SO AND COULDN'T GUARANTEE THAT THE PROBLEM WOULDN'T COME BACK. A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND FIX THE PROBLEM.
DRIVER DOOR REMAINS AJAR NO MATTER WHAT WE DO. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE ONE NEVER KNOWS IF DOOR IS REALLY CLOSED PROPERLY OR NOT! INTERIOR LIGHTS CAN DRAIN BATTERY. DEALER REPAIRED ABOUT 15 MONTHS AGO. SAME PROBLEM RETURNED. VERY EXPENSIVE.
BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR CLOSED SENSORS STOPPED WORKING. THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS ALWAYS ON WHICH CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND THE DOOR LOCKS TO UNLOCK WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAPPENS 100% OF THE TIME. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO GO OUT ONCE I REACH 10 MPH BUT THERE IS NO VISIBILITY WHEN BACKING UP AT NIGHT MAKING IT DANGEROUS FOR ME AND ANYONE THAT MIGHT BE BEHIND ME.

ALL THESE NEWER CARS WITH SUCH ISSUES WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS IS SCARY
WHEN DRIVING MY EDGE THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS OF UPSTATE NEW YORK, I WENT TO SLOW DOWN GOING DOWN A MOUNTAINOUS ROAD. THE BRAKE PEDAL GOT VERY HARD TO PUSH, AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT WANT TO SLOW DOWN PROPERLY. ALSO NOTICED A HISSING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED. CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID AT THE FIRST AVAILABLE EXIT AND NOTICED THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS 1/2 EMPTY. PURCHASED NEW FLUID AND INSTALLED THE NEEDED AMOUNT IN THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE REMAINDER OF THE 1400 MILE TRIP THE MASTER CYLINDER DID NOT SHOW ANY LOSS OF FLUID, BUT THE BRAKES ARE STILL NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. GOT HOME AND BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL LINCOLN/ FORD DEALERSHIP, AS I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER UNDER THE EXTENDED BRAKE WARRANTY, AND SAID THE VEHICLE WAS READY TO GO. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THE BRAKES STILL NOT PROPERLY FUNCTIONING. STILL VERY LOW BRAKE PEDAL, AND SOFT ALSO WHILE STOPPED AT LIGHT THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AREA. AND THEY TEST DROVE THE CAR THEY SAID. IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK TO DEALER AND LEFT THE VEHICLE. THEY SAID THEY WILL ASK FORD IF THEY WILL APPROVE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FOR REPLACEMENT. VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER AS OF TODAY AUGUST 4, 2015. VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, COLLISION IS A VERY HIGH RISK WITH THE VEHICLE AS IT NOW IS. LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER AS STATED BEFORE AND WILL NOT PICKUP THE VEHICLE UNTIL PROPERLY REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. LOOSING FAITH IN FORD AT THIS TIME, WHAT OTHER ISSUES WILL OCCUR IN THE FUTURE?

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYED "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" WHEN THE DOOR WAS DEFINATLY SHUT AND LOCKED. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THIS ALARM WENT AWAY AND IT RETURNED A FEW DAYS LATER ON MY WAY TO THE STORE. THE FREQUENCY OF THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN INCREASING AND NOW MY CAR ALARM SOUNDS OFF SEEMINGLY AT WILL, MID-DAY OR MIDNIGHT BECAUSE THE COMPUTER THINKS SOMEONE OPENED THE DOOR WITHOUT THE KEY. LAST NIGHT IT WAS GOING OFF AT 4AM. I AM CONCERNED THAT INTERELATED SAFETY EQUIPMENT MIGHT NOT FUNCTION BECAUSE THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. THIS PROBLEM ALSO PREVENTS THE AUTO-LOCK FUNCTION FROM WORKING, SO SOMEONE COULD OPEN MY DOOR AT A REDLIGHT OR IN TRAFFIC. THE REPAIR BILL FOR THIS PROBLEM IS JUST OVER FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS. THIS IS CLEARLY AN EXAMPLE OF INFERIOR PARTS COSTING THE DEFENSELESS CONSUMER MONEY AND FORD MOTOR CO. REPEAT CUSTOMERS. IF YOU DO AN ONLINE SEARCH, YOU WILL SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.

SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, I GET REPEATED WARNINGS TO "SHIFT TO PARK". IF I DON'T JIGGLE THE BUTTON ON THE SHIFT KNOB, MY SEAT AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL NOT RESPOND. I HAVE TO START THE TRUCK A FEW TIMES, PUT IT THROUGH THE GEARS (IN DRIVE AND REVERSE), THEN I PRESS THE SHIFT RELEASE BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES THEN THE WARNING STOPS AND MY DRIVER SEAT FUNCTIONS TO ALLOW ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. THIS IS A PAIN AND THE DEALER SAID THAT IF THE PROBLEM COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED, THEN THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN 2 TIMES ABOUT THIS - THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD INTO GEAR AFTER SLOWING OR COASTING AND THEN ACCELERATING. ALMOST FEELS LIKE I HAVE HIT SOMETHING WHEN IT HAPPENS. I'M VERY CONCERNED, HAVING TWO TODDLERS IN THE TRUCK. I ALSO TOOK VIDEO OF THE PARKING, SHIFTING INTO PARK ISSUE. I JUST WANT IT FIXED....
