THERE ARE NO CARE SEAT BASE BRACKETS IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY VEHICLE. AS OF 2002 A LAW WAS PASSED THAT ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE THIS. I HAVE A GRANDCHILD NOW AND I NEED THESE BRACKETS FOE SAFTEY.
BRAKING ISSUES EXACTLY AS A PRIOR ISSUE THAT WAS REPAIRED WITH BOOSTER REPAIR AS PART OF A CUSTOMER CAMPAIGN. DEALERSHIP AND THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE STATES THAT THESE PARTS ARE NO LONGER COVERED OR A SAFETY CONCERN FOR THEM! ISSUE APPEARS UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, FEELS SOFT INITIALLY THEN HARDENS AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MINUTE. IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AT FIRST AND IS UNRELIABLE AND UNSAFE! THIS HAPPENED AT 70 AND 100 THOUSAND MILES. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING UNDER VARYING CIRCUMSTANCES AND IS UNPREDICTABLE INITIALLY, VERY SAD THAT FORD IS NOT CONCERNED FOR A PREVIOUSLY LOYAL CUSTOMER!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT ALMOST CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND ABS BLEED MOTOR UNIT NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,013. THE CONSUMER STATED NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED.*JS
MY FORD EDGE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT JUST SHUT OFF. YOU HAVE TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK IN ORDER TO START IT AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED WHILE GOING TO THE IN OUR TOWN STORE. I AM SO RELIEVED IT WAS NOT WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. HAD I BEEN ON THE FREEWAY, GOING AT FAST SPEEDS, IF THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE NOT PAYING ATTENTION I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT, OR WORSE KILLED. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP I FOUND OUT THAT IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. IT'S TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 15-0178, ISSUED ON NOV 2015. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY THERE'S NOT A RECALL? IS SOMEONE GOING TO HAVE DO DIE FIRST? ATTACHED IS THE SERVICE RECALL. I'VE CONTACTED FORD, SPOKEN WITH EVERGREEN FORD IN ISSAQUAH (WHERE MY CAR CURRENTLY IS) AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL HERE IN WASHINGTON STATE. *TR
TAKATA RECALL MY PASSENGER SIDE "DOOR AJAR" LIGHT STAYS ON AT ALL TIMES. THIS CAUSES MY BATTERY TO DRAIN AND PREVENTS THE CAR FROM LOCKING. IT ALSO KEEPS THE DOME LIGHT ON WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS A PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHICH MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE WHEN IN PUBLIC - MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE CAR BUT IT WILL NOT LOCK UNTIL IT IS DRIVEN FOR A DISTANCE. THIS DOES NOT HELP IN A PARKING LOT WHEN CAR REFUSES TO LOCK DUE TO A BAD SENSOR. NOW, MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS STARTING TO ALERT THAT IT IS AJAR. BOTH DOORS ARE ALWAYS CLOSED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AGAIN, WILL NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO LOCK AND ALERTS ME TO SHIFT MY VEHICLE INTO PARK. THIS CYCLES 24 HOURS A DAY. MY LIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY COME ON FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN A BAD SENSOR SAYING DOORS THAT ARE SHUT - ARE "AJAR". THIS HAS LEFT ME ON MORE THAN OCCASION WITH A DEAD BATTERY. THIS MOST CERTAINLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE CONCERDING THE DOORS ARE DESIGNED TO LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WHEN DRIVING - AND THEY WILL NOT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN UNLESS THIS IS FIXED. I AM REQUESTING THIS BE RECALLED AS IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. I WAS ADVISED IT COULD BE FIXED - BUT IT WILL RETURN. I DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS AS A SINGLE MOTHER TO DO SO. PLEASE FORD - TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY 700 I WENT TO PUT ON BRAKES AND IT FELT LIKE I DIDN'T HAVE ANY IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE STOPPING! BASICALLY THE BRAKES ARE JUST BARLEY THERE. VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY NOT TO MENTION I HAD 2 KIDS WITH ME. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO IT WAS A RECALL AND WAS FIX BUT NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. ALSO MY DOOR AJAR INDICATOR LIGHT KEEPS STAYING ON.
BRAKES QUIT WORKING WHILE EXECUTING A NORMAL STOP. PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. REPLACED ALL BRAKE COMPONENTS AND AFTER A MONTH OF REPAIRS MECHANIC SAID CAR IS NOT FIXABLE THAT I NEED TO JUNK THE CAR. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT MANY OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS
THE CAR ALARM GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES AT NIGHT.
TAKATA RECALL I PURCHASED MY 2012 FORD EDGE SEL APRIL 22, 2019. TODAY, MAY 31ST 2019 ON MY WAY HORNE FROM WORK THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING AND POWER. I HAD JUST PASSED A SEMI-TRUCK ON A SMALL FARM TOWN BLACK TOP ROAD AND CAME UP ON A STOP SIGN. IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING TO THE LEFT FROM THE STOP THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT OF THE ROAD. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE I HAD TO FIND AN ALTERNATE WAY HOME. *WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE DID RUN HOWEVER IT SOUNDED AS IT WAS "STARVED" OR "MIS-FIRING", THERE WAS HEAVY WHITE SMOKE DISPERSING FROM THE EXHAUST AND WHEN I WOULD ATTEMPT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WOULD DIE. THE OIL LEVEL IS FINE, THE ANTIFREEZE IS FINE, IT IS NOT OVERHEATING AND THERE WERE NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OF AN ISSUE. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED AND OCCURRED WITH NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY PARKED WHERE IT DIED; A HALF HOUR AWAY FROM MY HOME. I AM THANKFUL MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND EVEN MORE THANKFUL THAT THIS SPORADIC ACTIVITY DID NOT RESULT IN A FATAL OR CRIPPLING CRASH WITH ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL. AS I RESEARCH THE CAUSES IT APPEARS THIS ISSUE IS NOT ISOLATED AND HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE 2008. I PRAY IT IS INVESTIGATED AND NOTICE IS SHARED BEFORE THE POTENTIALS BECOME A REALITY. PLEASE BE PROACTIVE VS REACTIVE AND ASSURE THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED FOR THE PEOPLE.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THROUGH A BUSY TOWN I WAS PREPARING TO STOP AT A STOPLIGHT AND MY BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR THERE WEREN'T ANY SIGNS OF BRAKE ISSUES PRIOR SO I ASSUMED THE BRAKES NEEDED REPLACING SO WHEN I GOT OFF WORK I WENT AND BOUGHT BRAKES MY HUSBAND WAS GONNA PUT THEM ON WHEN HE CHECKED HE SAID THE BRAKES WERE FINE THAT THE FLUID COULD BE LEAKING THE FLUID LEVEL WAS FINE AND NO LEAKS WERE FOUND HE STILL LOOKED FOR ONE JUST IN CASE SO NEXT HE SAID IT COULD BE MASTER CYLINDER AND RESERVOIR I WAS LOOKING ONLINE AT THIS POINT AND SEEN ALL THE SAME ISSUES OTHERS WERE HAVING AS WELL WITH THIS SUV I TOLD HIM THERE WASN'T ANY NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY BECAUSE THE WAY IT SOUNDED WAS THAT ITS NOT GONNA FIX THE ISSUE ANY HOW BECAUSE FORD ITSELF CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY BRAKES ARE GOING TO THE FLOOR THEMSELVES SO I'M LEFT WITH A UNSAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE WITH A PAYOFF OF 10000 DOLLARS WHAT DO I DO? I'M SO TIRED OF GETTING SCREWED THAT I'M ABT TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY AND FIND OUT WHY AM I LEFT WITH THIS PROBLEM TO FACE AND WHY OTHERS ARE HAVING TO SUFFER AS WELL IF THERE'S AN ONGOING LAWSUIT NEAR WASHINGTON NC LET ME KNOW IF NOT THERE'S SOON TO BE ONE IF OTHERS NEED TO JOIN AS WELL
I GET READY TO START MY DAY AS USUAL I GO AND START MY VEHICLE (STATIONARY) TO WARM IT UP, AS I GOT READY TO SET THE TEMPERATURE IN THE SUV I NOTICED THE BOTTOM TOUCH PANEL DID NOT LIGHT UP. SO I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE HEAT THAT WAS BLOWING AND IT DIDNT TURN OFF, I TRIED AND AGAIN AND NOTHING. ITS TO HOT IN TEXAS WITH LITTLE CHILDREN TO HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT EFFECT THE AIR CONDITIONING. I PUSHED OTHER BUTTONS TO SEE IF ANYTHING WORKED AND STILL NOTHING, THE HAZARD LIGHTS WILL NOT FUNCTION NOR WILL THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS. MY FAMILY AND I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO MY DESTINATION AFTERWARDS I HAD THE FUSES TESTED THEY ARE GOOD, BUT WAS TOLD IT IS FRONT INTERFACE CONTROL MODULE. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND HOPEFULLY A FORD DEALERSHIP CAN GIVE A BETTER DIAGNOSIS THAN AUTO PART STORE.
VEHICLE PURCHASED 12 FEB 2012. AT 8,344 MILES, VEHICLE WAS CHECKED INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT SHAMALEY FORD, EL PASO, TX BECAUSE POWER BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. COMPLAINT READS: "BRAKE PEDAL HARD AND WHEN PUMPING GOES VERY LOW." SERVICE DEPARTMENT COMMENT: "CAUSE: BOOSTER NOT WORKING AT TIMES. 2005A BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY . . . REPLACE BT4Z*2005*A BOOSTER ASY - BRAKE" NOW AT 65,495 (16 MAY 2019), THE SAME CONDITION EXISTS. NOT INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, BUT A FEW TIMES THE VEHICLE CAME TOO CLOSE TO OTHER CARS BEFORE STOPPING. OCCURS CONSISTENTLY AFTER BEING PARKED, AND THEN INTERMITTENTLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHILE USING CRUISE CONTROL. STEPPING ON BRAKE FAILED TO DISENGAGE CRUISE CONTROL THE FIRST TIME, HAD TO TAKE THE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEP ON THE BRAKE HARD AGAIN. HAPPENS A CITY SPEED LIMITS, ALSO INTERMITTENTLY. DEFECTIVE PART? NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, AND IF DEFECTIVE, ISSUE A RECALL AND HOLD FORD RESPONSIBLE FOR FREE REPLACEMENT.
I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY DOWN A STREET AT ABOUT 20-30 MPH AND TRIED TO CLOSE MY SUNROOF AND THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS IT INTO THE MOVING TRACK BROKE OFF LEAVING IT STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. I TOOK IT TO FORD THINKING THAT SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THEIR EDGE CARS' ROOFS, THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO REPAIR IT. INSTEAD THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $8,000 TO REPAIR THE WHOLE ROOF.
DOOR AJAR ERROR. DOOR IS CLOSED BUT THE LATCH MECHANISM DOESN'T ENGAGE AND SEND A A PROPER SIGNAL TO THE CAR, SO LIGHTS STAY ON.
MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN ROUTINELY SERVICED AND BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED . THE PADDLE GOES ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. I JUST HAD THE WORKS DONE LAST WEEK ON APRIL 10TH 2019 . WELL TODAY WE WEREN'T SO LUCKY. WE LEFT FOR VACATION AND IN VIRGINIA WE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE BRAKES FAILED ON US .
AFTER STRONG BRAKING EVENT - BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY SOFT AND INCREASING PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL WAS REQUIRED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. TOOK INTO A FORD DEALER FOR REPAIR - BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. A YEAR LATER AFTER A SIMILAR BRAKING EVENT - THE SAME SYMPTOMS RE-APPEARED. DEALER SAID IT WAS FAULTY BRAKE PAD INSTALL. PROBLEM PERSISTED. 2 OTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANICS REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BLED THE SYSTEM. PROBLEM PERSISTED. NOW DEALER SAYS ITS THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE. HOWEVER IT WOULD APPEAR TO BE THE BOOSTER AGAIN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAULTY PART THAT FORD WILL NOT ADMIT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN A SERIOUS CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT ENGAGE. UNAWARE OF THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT SPONGY BRAKES, NTB ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE HOSES AND MASTER CYLINDER TO NO AVAIL AFTER REPLACING THE MASTER CYLINDER THREE TIMES. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE PARTS /SYSTEM SINCE QUALIFIED MECHANICS CAN'T FIX THE VEHICLE. CAR WILL BE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP BUT THEY HAVE ALREADY STARTED WITH DISCLAIMERS AND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL OR ISSUES WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM DESPITE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY PROBLEM . NHTSA NEEDS TO INTERVENE AND FORCE FORD TO RECALL THIS DEFECTIVE PART . LIVES CAN BE LOST UNNECESSARILY BECAUSE NO ONE HAS TAKEN ACTION ON BEHALF OF THE CONSUMER.
INTERMITTENT LOSS OF BRAKES. BRAKE PEDDLE GOES TO THE FLOOR BOARD. ALSO ENGINE HAS NOW DIED TWICE WHEN IDLING ONCE AT A STOP, ONCE WHILE PARKED.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON TELLING DRIVER TO SHIFE TO PARK DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT STAY LOADED WHEN DRIVING, SO ANYONE CAN OPEN CAR DOOR WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD , THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR SOMEONE MAY OPEN DOOR AND FALL OUT OR IF YOUR AT TRAFFIC LIGHT SOMEONE OUT SIDE OF CAR CAN OPEN DOOR, THIS IS UNSAFE , YOU STAND A CHANCE OF BEING CAR JACKKED OR SOME OTHER BAD THINGS CAN HAPPEN. I'D SAY CAR IS UNSAFE AND THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. I HAD FORD DEALER CHECK IT OUT AND SAID IT NEEDS A DRIVER DOOR LATCH ASSY. REPLACED THIS PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED ON AND OFF OVER THE PASS YEAR OR SO BUT WOULD SEEM TO FIX IT SELFWITH IN A FEW MILES BUT NOW IT STAYS ON
WHEN I AM DRIVING TO WORK AT 5:00 AM DOWN THE INTERSTATE MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL JUST COME ON. MY EDGE HAS INTERIOR LIGHTS THAT WON'T GO OFF DOOR AJAR IS ON THE DASHBOARD. LATE AT NIGHT WHEN MY CAR IS NOT IN MOTION AND MY LIGHTS JUST TURN ON MY HOME SECURITY SYSTEM HAS RECORDED IT SEVERAL TIMES AND THE CAR HAS SAT OFF FOR MANY HOURS. MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON. FOR SAFETY REASONS THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE FORD COMPANY.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR KEEP SAYING AJAR EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THE DOOM LIGHT WON'T GO OUT AND IT KILLS THE BATTERY. I CHECKED ON YOUTUBE AND OTHERS BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS ISSUE. THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT FORD CAN DO TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. 2012 FORD DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT PART TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE APPLIED WITH FORCE TO THE FLOORBOARD TO ENSURE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL CAMPAIGNS FOR THE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS OUT RUNNING ERRANDS AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. LEFT A STORE TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER FROM PRACTICE AND HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKES TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. THIS WAS AFTER STOPPING FINE AT THE PREVIOUS THREE STORES AND NUMEROUS LIGHTS I ENCOUNTERED. THIS ISSUE CONTINUED FOR THE NEXT 15 MILES OF LIGHTS AND TRAFFIC, UNTIL I GOT HOME. I DID STOP AT AN O'REILLYS AUTO PARTS ON MY WAY HOME AND CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL, WHICH WAS FULL. I HAVE PARKED THE VEHICLE AND HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY SON'S JEEP FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO DROP THE EDGE OFF AT WILLIAMSBURG FORD, WILLIAMSBURG, VA, ON 3/28/19. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND EVIDENTLY THERE IS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT OF A BRAKE BOOSTER ISSUE COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (13N01) AND HAVE READ MORE THAN 130 OTHER PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED ISSUES IDENTICAL TO MINE. NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE FAILURE BEING BRAKES!!!!!!! FAILURE OCCURRED AT 69,536 MILES ON ODOMETER. I HAVE ALSO RECENTLY HAD AN ISSUE WITH HARD SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE. I FEEL AND HEAR A CLUNK WHEN SHIFTING AND TAKING OFF FROM BEING PARKED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SENSOR STAYING "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE" APPEARED ON THE DASH, WHILE AT TREE SAME TIME THE LIGHTS FLICKERED, THE VEHICLE DIED COMPLETELY, AND TGE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN PLACE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE OFF THE MAIN ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE PLACED IN PARK AND RE-STARTED CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL WE REACHED THE DRIVEWAY OF OUR HOME.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the front driver's side and passenger's side door latches failed to close the doors securely; causing the interior cabin light to remain illuminated. The failure caused the battery to be drained. The contact stated that the battery was replaced three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO BOTTOM BEFORE STOPPING. BRAKE FLUID IS FULL. PROBLEM STARTED IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED PULLING INTO PARKING AREA.
WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FILLED, THE ODOR OF GASOLINE IS VERY STRONG INSIDE THE VEHICLE TO THE POINT THAT IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE CAR MUST BE VENTED TO BE ABLE TO BREATHE. CAUSING HEADACHES AND FEAR OF ANY IGNITION OF THE FUMES. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST FOUR TIMES I HAVE FILLED MY TANK. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE FOR OTHER 2012 EDGE'S BUT MINE IS NOT LISTED AND IT SHOULD BE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I COULD BE KILLED.

FIRST HAS BRAKE ISSUES ABOUT 1-2 YEARS AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2012. THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES UP UNTIL JANUARY 2019. MY BRAKES WENT OUT WHILE STOPPING AT A TRAIN TRACK WITH A TRAIN COMING, REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND ALL IS SEEMINGLY WELL. NOW ONE MONTH LATER, MY BRAKES HAVE GONE OUT AGAIN WHILE STOPPING AT A STOPLIGHT IN THE RAIN (ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME), AND THE MECHANIC CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THEY'VE REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AGAIN, THE MASTER CYLINDER, FLUSHED THE LINES, CALLED FORD AND FLUSHED THE LINES THE WAY THEY RECOMMENDED, AND THE MOST THEY CAN GET MY BRAKES TO WORK FOR IS 30-40 MINUTES BEFORE THEY GO OUT AGAIN. THE MECHANIC LITERALLY TOLD MY DAD TO LIGHT A MATCH, AND LET THE INSURANCE TAKE CARE OF IT! WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED BASED ON ALL OF THESE STORIES?!?
I HAVE HAD TO BRAKE QUICKLY ON 2 OCCASIONS AND 1 OF THE TIMES I HAD TO SLAM ON MY BRAKES AS A CAR RAN A STOP SIGN COMING OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, I HAD TO SWERVE INTO THE OTHER LANE TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR AND BARELY WAS ABLE TO STOP MY CAR. THE SECOND TIME I HAD TO STOP QUICKLY AND BRAKE GRINDED TO A STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND A CITY STREET. BOTH TIME THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DURING MY NEW YORK STATE INSPECTION DID NOT PASS DUE TO A SOFT BRAKE PEDAL, I HAD THE BACK BRAKES REPLACED AND THEY DISCOVERED THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD A LEAK. I HAD IT REPLACED AS WELL AND THE BRAKES STILL ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT THIS SATURDAY TO HAVE THE LONG PINS (I THINK THAT'S WHAT IT'S CALLED) REPLACED ON THE BACK BRAKES. THEY ALSO SAID IT'S POSSIBLE I WILL NEED TO HAVE THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED. AFTER SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS AND 4 SATURDAY'S SPENT AT THE CAR REPAIR STORE AND STILL NOT RESOLUTION TO THE BRAKE PROBLEM. I'VE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES ON THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL CAR MAYBE IT'S TIME TO ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE IT COSTS SOMEONE THEIR LIFE.
THE REAR LEFT DOOR "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR WOULD SHOW THAT THE DOOR WAS OPEN, EVEN WHEN SLAMMED SHUT. AT FIRST I HAD TO SLAM THE DOOR HARDER, BUT AFTER A WHILE EVEN THAT DIDN'T WORK. WHEN THAT DIDN'T WORK, IT BECAME AN ISSUE BECAUSE MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULDN'T GO OFF AFTER LEAVING THE CAR. I HAD TO BREAK THE PART TO GET MY LIGHTS TO GO OFF SO I DIDN'T DRAIN MY BATTERY OVERNIGHT.
FORD - DOOR AJAR - THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED BACK IN 2013 AND 2015. APPEARS TO HAVE FAILD AGAIN. CLEARY A SAFETY CONCERN AS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. CLEARLY A KNOWN ISSUE BY FORD DUE TO THE NUMBER OF REPORTS. WHO CAN ENTRUST THE SAFTY OF A YOUNG WOMENT IN A DARK PARKING GARAGE FROM GETTING GANG RAPED IF SHE CAN'T FIND SAFTY IN HER FORD MOTOR VECHICAL.
WHILE DRIVING AND TRYING TO STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD TO PUSH. HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED. NOW AFTER ONLY 6 MONTHS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT. HAD THE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED AND IT IS STILL ACTING THE SAME. THIS IS UNSAFE AND WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH WITH FORD EDGES. THEY HAVE A REPLACEMENT PROGRAM IN PLACE FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER BUT THIS WAS FIXED AND HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM. SO OBVIOUSLY THAT ISN'T THE ANSWER.
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED RESULTING IN A DOOR AJAR SIGNAL AND THE INTERNAL LIGHTS STAYING ON. ADDITIONALLY THE AUTO LOCK FUNCTION WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVING IS DISABLED.

READ SEVERAL FORUMS OF OTHERS DISCUSSING THE SAME PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART. DOOR LATCH. THE FAULTY SENSOR TRIGGERS AN AUDIBLE WARNING, ACTIVATES A WARNING LIGHT AND CAUSES A "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE BECAUSE THE COMPUTER MISTAKENLY BELIEVES THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED. OWNERS COMPLAIN ABOUT DOME LIGHTS THAT STAY ON, DRAINED BATTERIES AND CUSTOMERS SAY ALL THE DOORS UNLOCK AND CANNOT BE MANUALLY RELOCKED.

TRYING TO OPEN/CLOSE DOOR MULTIPLE TIMES EVENTUALLY RESOLVES, BUT GETS FRUSTRATING WHEN IT IS 5+ MIN TRYING TO DO THIS IN RAIN OR IN PARKING LOTS THIS HAS BEEN INCREASING IN FREQUENCY AND MORE FREQUENT IN COLD WEATHER THAN WARM..

I WAS HAVING AN ENGINE LIGHT COME ON INTERMITTENTLY SOMETIMES EVEN JUST AFTER MY VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN FOR WARRANTY WORK. IT WOULD SOMETIMES EVEN MAKE A STALLING ENGINE SOUND WHEN I FILLED THE TANK WITH GAS. WITH THE LIGHT ON ONE OF THESE OCCASIONS I TOOK IT TO AUTOZONE AND WAS TOLD THAT TWO OF THE 02 SENSORS WERE BAD. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE I'M TO FIND OUT THAT A CANNISTER PURGE VALVE HAD GONE BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A WEEK LATER I GET A RECALL ON MY 2ND VEHICLE, A FORD FOCUS 2014 FOR THE CPV.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT AND MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS EXTENDED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT MISSED THAT TOO. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT NHTSA COULD EXTEND A RECALL FOR THE CONTACT AND TRANSFERRED HER TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR KEEPS GOING OFF, DRAINS BATTERY, LEAVES ME STRANDED - HUGE ISSUE FOR A FAMILY!
THIS IS THE THIRD COMPLAINT I HAVE FILED IN AN ATTEMPT FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE INVESTIGATED. AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY GARAGE THIS EVENING, MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN WITH NO WARNING. I NARROWLY MISSED HITTING THE WALL. I WAS TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED. MY VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000 MILES ON IT.
WHEN APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION THE BRAKES FAILED AND BRAKE PEDAL FELL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, FORCING ME TO TURN INTO CURB TO AVOID BEING HIT BY CROSS TRAFFIC. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE THAT OCCURS WHEN PRESSURE IS PLACED ON THE SYSTEM. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS ALREADY REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER (TWICE) AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL WRECKS, AS THERE IS TYPICALLY NO WARNING SIGNS TO WHEN IT MAY OCCUR.
I HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, NEW BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM REPLACED 5 MONTHS AGO AND NOW IT'S DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. BRAKES ARE HARD TO PUSH AND VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP OR GO ALL THE WAY DOWN. ALSO, BURNING SMELL AROUND THE BRAKES. VERY DANGEROUS.

HOW DOES A AIR BAG NOT DIPLOY DURING A IMPACT CAUSING SO MUCH FRONT END DAMAGE THE VEHICLE WASUNABLE TO BE DRIVEN FROM THE SCENE?

REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER BECAUSE IT HAS A KNOWN ISSUE ( NO RECALL JUST WARRANTY EXTENSION), ALSO REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER BECAUSE THIS WAS CLEARLY A HYDRAULIC FAILURE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM. DRIVING THE VEHICLE HOME THAT NIGHT WITH A GOOD PEDAL UNTIL I GET TO THE OFF RAMP, AT 70 MILES AN HOUR THERE IS NO LONGER ANY BRAKE PEDAL AND HAD TO USE THE TRANSMISSION TO SAFELY SLOW THE VEHICLE. NOW MY WIFE IS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE HER VEHICLE IN FEAR THAT THE PEDAL IS THERE ONE MINUTE AND GONE THE NEXT.
PULLED OVER IN EMERGENCY LANE ON HIGHWAY 3 MILES FROM HOME. STOPPED CAR AND PLACED GEAR SHIFT IN PARK POSITION AND SET FLASHERS. ON GETTING OUT OF CAR NOTED CAR WAS MOVING FORWARD. VICTIM WAS UNABLE TO GET BACK IN AND FELL OUT OF CAR RESULTING IN CAR BACK DRIVER SIDE TIRE ROLLING OVER VICTIM. RESULTED IN HOSPITALIZATION WITH RIGHT SIDE 8 BROKEN RIBS, T-1 FRACTURE, PUNCTURED LUNG ON RIGHT AND MULTIPLE BRUISES AND LACERATIONS ON LEGS AND BACK. RESULTED IN CHEST TUBE PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT OF NECK BRACE, HOSPITALIZATION FOR 10 DAYS, WOUND CARE TO CUT ON RIGHT ANKLE, INPATIENT REHAB FOR 5 DAYS WITH CONTINUED OUTPATIENT REHAB FOR MINIMUM OF 1 MONTH. F/U NEUROSURGERY APPOINTMENT 12/18/18 TO DETERMINE REMOVAL OF NECK BRACE. CONTINUING TO PROVIDE DAILY WOUND CARE TO ANKLE ABRASION THAT IS PREVENTING PAINLESS WALKING. BRUISES REMAIN ON LEGS WITH SWELLING OF LEFT CALF AND THIGH MUSCLES. HAVE POLICE REPORT THAT VERIFIES THAT GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PARK AT THE TIME OF ACCIDENT. HAVE PICTURES OF BRUISES, CHEST TUBE PLACEMENT BUT UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD.

THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER, THE ABS BOOSTER, REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROATERS.THE BRAKE PADS AND ROATORS WERE NEW APRIL 2017 AND INSPECTED IN MAY 2018 THEY WERE FINE.ONLY 13000 MILES WERE PUT ON THE CAR SINCE 2017.ON THE WAY HOME TODAY THE BRAKES WENT OUT AGAIN.
