MY BACK WHEEL WELL HOUSING HAS RUSTED AWAY ON MY ESCAPE 2006 I HAVE BEEN WAITING TWO MONTHS FOR FORD TO SEND THE PART THEY RAISED THE PRICE FROM 160 DOLLARS TO 707 DOLLARS IN THOSE TWO MONTHS HOW CAN THEY DO THAT WHEN THE PART WAS FAULTY TO BEGIN WITH WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT NOT PROTECTED THE CONSUMER FROM THIS TYPE OF FRAUD FROM FORD. *TR
TL - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH REAR WHEEL WELLS WERE COMPLETELY CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN VERIFIED THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT BOTH WHEEL WELLS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 156,000. RK
I OWN A 2006 FORD ESCAPE XLT . I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE RIMS, NOT THE TIRES. IT SEEMS THAT ON EVERY SINGLE RIM, THE PAINT ON THE RIM IS BUBBLING UP. ALL 4 RIMS HAVE BUBBLING ALL IN THE SAME EXACT SPOTS.THE PAINT BUBBLING IS FORMING IN THE CENTER OF THE RIM, RIGHT AROUND THE FORD CENTER CAP. UNDER THE BUBBLING, IT APPEARS THAT RUST IS FORMING. THIS IS A 2006 FORD ESCAPE WITH ONLY 46,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS ONLY 3 YRS OLD. I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT IS DUE TO THE NY WEATHER. I HAVE CONTACTED MY FORD DEALERSHIP. MY ESCAPE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY EVEN TOOK A LOOK AT THE RIMS AND HAVE NO IDEA WHY THE PAINT IS BUBBLING ON ALL RIMS , ALL IN THE SAME SPOT. THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THE RIMS. THEREFORE, I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE NEW RIMS FOR MY 2006 FORD ESCAPE, WHICH WILL COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. *TR

I HAVE A 2006 ESCAPE HYBRID AND HAVE HAD TWO VALVE STEM FAILURES WHICH CAUSED SLOW TIRE LEAKS. I THINK FORD SHOULD RECALL MY VEHICLE AND REPLACE ALL THE VALVE STEMS AS THEY MAY FAIL WHEN I'M OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE WITH NO ONE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE INSIDE WALL OF THE TIRE TREAD DROPPING. THE MANUFACTURER WILL ONLY COVER 75% OF THE REPAIR COST. THE TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC BSW AND THE CORRECT TIRE SIZE IS P2357016. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 18,387 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,189. TL* - THE CONTACT IS CALLING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT HIS 4 ORIGINAL TIRES. THE CONTACT STATES THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TREAD/BELT ON TIRES. IT SEEMS LIKE ALL 4 TIRES HAVE SOME TYPE OF DEFAULT/DEFORM. THE CONTACT HAS DRIVEN HE 9,000 MILES ON HIS 4 TIRES. IF PICTURES OF TIRES ARE NEEDED CONTACT CAN PROVIDE THEM.
