NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2009 Ford Escape. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
In later part of 2021my vehicle's power steering began disengaging and reengaging. It is now parked in my driveway for I am afraid of driving it. Apparently the was a safety recall issued several years ago recognizing this problem and authorizing a software upgrade, new torque sensor or steering column replacement. I took my vehicle to the Ford dealer in 2014 under Safety Recall 14S05 and they did a software reprogramming. Obviously, they missed something. Now they tell me ambiguously that the recall is expired or that by reprogramming the software, they are released from further recall liability and that I would have to pay ($2200) for steering column replacement. No
Purchased car in Dec 20. Brakes were 'mushy'. Previous owner had over $1000 in brake work done (new pads-front, shoes - rear, new master cylinder, new rotors, etc.) I am a GM and John Deere-trained mechanic. I determined the defect was in the ABS valve assembly. There is at least 1 of 4 ABS side solenoid valves not seating/sealing properly. Replaced the defective ABS unit with a low mileage used valve assembly, keeping the original ECU since it is keyed to the VIN. 9 months later, the ECU has failed (Code B1342 ABS ECU inoperative). Service brakes are still tight and function. Tried cleaning / reseating main wiring connector with no luck. Problem was sporadic over past 60 days (ABS light / ASC / Parking brake lights illuminated) and then would disappear. ECU finally failed completely with warning lights on continuously. Vehicle has 142,000 miles and is over 12 yrs old. Ford says they have never heard ofan ABS issue but confirmed the defect. The local dealer will gladly replace the ABS module for approx $1000. Ford has a responsibility to address this issue not only in Escapes of all years but throughout their model lineup. This is a safety issue that needs to be fixed. Not looking for a freebie but would rather not be the victim of an avoidable car accident and be cleaned off the pavement with a stick and a spoon. Needless to say, Ford reputation has suffered a loss of credibility.
Subject vehicle was a 2009 Ford Escape with 74,123 miles. Driving the vehicle the front passenger lower control arm separated from the k-frame/cradle causing the vehicle to lose control. Loss of steering was experienced as well as tire lock up from the front tire lodging against the back of the fender. The CV shaft also separated during the failure resulting in loss of transmission engagement. There was no warning prior to the event, the failure was sudden and immediate. The loss of vehicle control was extreme. Failure is identical to RCRIT-14V165-9596 for the 01-04 Escapes. The reason the recall was only isolated to the 01-04 Escapes is unknown. In my opinion, whatever PCA actions or supplier related issues identified by Ford Motor Company during the prior recall investigation to support the recall only affecting 01-04 model years was either incomplete or inaccurate. The frame rust through condition extends beyond the model years listed in the recall and was not resolved as shown by subsequent failures on vehicles outside of the recall model year window. No mechanism was put in place to prevent the control arm separation in the later model year Escapes to prevent the same safety issue from occurring. I was unable to obtain a front cradle from a local salvage yard that did not exhibit perforation present or starting supporting this condition is occurring on all model year Escapes from 2001 to 2012 in corrosion prone areas. The recall should be extended to all model years involved to prevent potential accidents.
Subject vehicle is a 2009 Ford Escape with 74,123 miles. Driving the vehicle the lower control arm separated from the front frame otherwise known as the engine cradle or subframe. The failure is identical to the subframe failures on the 2001 - 2004 Ford Escapes currently under recall. The failure was immediate with no prior warning. The vehicle exhibited loss of steering control, wheel lock up from the front tire contacting the back of the wheel opening, and loss of transmission engagement from cv joint separation. In my opinion, whatever PCA actions or quality root cause was identified by Ford Motor Company during the prior recall investigation isolating the condition to 2001 - 2004 Escapes was either incomplete or inaccurate. This is supported by the same failure occurring in Escapes outside of that model year window. No mechanism was added after the 2004 Escapes were produced to prevent this failure from occurring. Images attached show the failure that was experienced. I was unable to obtain a good used frame locally that did not exhibit signs of corrosion with perforation present or starting. This further supports the failure mode is beyond the scope of the initial recall. The recall should be expanded to prevent future accidents that could have the potential for injury or death.
When I put my key into the ignition it will not start the vehicle. I’ve searched this on the internet and found it is a very common problem with this model vehicle

I was driving in the middle of the highway when the steering wheel started to be hard to turn. Slowly I parked and turn the engine off and called the road assistance. They said they can’t do anything about that. We wait about an hour then turned the engine back on and everything seems to be normal. I was driving to work that day. From my way back home the same thing happened. I decided to take it to ford dealership and they checked and it came out that it’s the steering wheel column that has a problem and it’s not safe to drive it. They said it is safety issue and unfortunately my car is not recalled and I will be charged for over $2000 to fix it. That’s why I’m filling a claim to have it recall.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact’s son stated that while driving 60 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact’s son pulled over and restarted the vehicle. Power steering not working. First noticed it on 7/21/21 while backing out of a parking spot. Very difficult steering the vehicle, especially during slow turning movements like backing up the vehicle or tight turns. Emergency movements would be near impossible. It was intermittent on 7/21/21 but it's now a consistent problem. No one else has looked at the vehicle and there were no warning lights.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at a low rate of speed, the power steering ceased to operate without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V284000 (Steering) which he linked to the failure however, the Vin was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure but offered him no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.
The contact's mother owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact’s mother informed him that while driving 45 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The driver pulled over and restarted the vehicle which restored functionality temporarily. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed by a local mechanic but was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V284000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,337.
The hinges on the glass for the tail lift corroded causing the back window to drop. This poses a safety hazard when driving or opening the back window on the tail lift.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving approximately 55 mph, the power steering suddenly failed while turning onto an exit ramp. During the failure, the steering wheel became very difficult to turn in either direction. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering control module was faulty and needed to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 14V284000 (Steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle experienced intermittent power steering failure. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that excessive force was required to steer the vehicle during the failure. The contact called a dealer and was informed that the VIN was not covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V284000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Our 2009 Ford Escape built at the Kansas City Assembly Plant has experienced a complete failure of the Electric Power Steering System. There were no warning lights when the Electric Power Steering System failed causing the vehicle to revert back to manual steering. Once the power steering failed it took a greater amount of effort to steer the vehicle safely. I immediately took the vehicle to my repair shop where they determined that the vehicle had experienced a complete failure of the power steering assembly with a diagnostic code of B1342 (power steering module failure). The vehicle was repaired by replacing the Steering Column Assembly - CL8Z-3C529-D.
The Hydraulic Control Unit (HCUs) in the 2009 Ford Escape malfunctioned resulting in the brake pedal losing resistance. The brake pedal needed to be pushed all the way to the floorboard with aggressive force to stop the vehicle. This issue may have resulted in an interstate accident that put the driver at extreme risk. The vehicle crashed into the vehicle in front of the driver due to a delay in stopping from the malfunctioning of the HCU. There were no warning lights that were triggered to alert an issue with the unit. The repair shop that repaired the vehicle warned the driver that the brakes were not working properly and may have caused to the accident. Due to Ford backlogs on parts from COVID-19 delays, I discovered that 180 HCUs are currently on back order in the United States. Additionally, four Ford vehicles in the Greater New Orleans area are waiting for ACUs due to the same issue of the brakes not gripping until the pedal reaches the floor. Multiple sources online are warning of a similar issue from malfunctioning HCUs and ACUs. After learning this information, I filed a complaint with the Ford Corporate office but have not heard anything regarding the integrity of the part. However, when I dropped off the vehicle at the Lamarque Ford Dealership in Kenner Louisiana, I was told the vehicle was undrivable due to the malfunctioning of the HCU. The vehicle is available for inspection at the Lamarque Ford Dealership located at 3101 Williams Blvd Suite F, Kenner, LA 70065. Additionally, other vehicles are waiting for repairs at Supreme Ford of Slidell located at 400 E Howze Beach Rd, Slidell, LA 70461. Due to the extensive backlog of Ford parts, these vehicles have been waiting months to be repaired and potentially have months to continue to wait before being repaired.
Vehicle lost power steering while in motion (low speed) which almost made me crash into a pole in a parking lot. Turned vehicle off, removed key from Ignition, reinserted key into ignition and started vehicle. No power steering still. No warning lamps or lights concerning steering. Checked recalls per VIN as this is a common occurrence with 2007-2011 Ford Escapes but am told that this vehicle does not fall under the recall notice.
Hello, I need help. I had my vehicle towed to Bill Knight Ford because the power steering goes out while you’re driving. There is a recall that fixes this. The recall has not been fixed but they are telling me it has been fixed. I know for fact the PCSM recall was not fixed! They are refusing to fix/look at it until I get the alternator fixed. I repeat this recall from 2015 that’s related to the power steering has not been fixed! This is unacceptable, please help.
We have a 2009 ford escape. The electric power steering assist Has started to work intermittently. As my daughter drives this car, I can't have her driving it if all of a sudden the power steering is gonna not work. The local Ford garage said there was no outstanding recalls on it and offered no further help. Very disappointed and I'm not planning to ever buy another Ford.
5/30/21 Power steering failed.
THE 2009 FORD ESCAPE SUBFRAME IS CORRODED AND RUSTED. THIS COULD CAUSE A WHEEL TO COME APART FROM THE FRAME AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF WE DRIVE IT OVER 55 MILES AN HOUR. HER CAR SHAKES WHEN SHE IS BRAKING - AND RATTLES CONSTANTILY. THERE IS A KNOWN RECALL ON 'SOME' 2009 FORD ESCAPES, HOWEVER OURS DOES NOT FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY THEREFORE FORD WILL NOT FIX THIS. THE FIX FOR THEM IS A SIMPLE BRACKET MOUNTED UNDER THE CAR TO HOLD THE FRAME TOGETHER, ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT THE DESIRED FIX TO KEEP MY DAUGHTER SAFE, IT IS A FIX. THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE SUBFRAME CORRODING IT, I HAVE RESEARCHED WHY IT'S HAPPENING. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND BECAUSE OUR CAR'S VIN NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH THE VEHICLES THEY HAVE ON FILE, THEY STATE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. MY 19 YEAR OLD IS DRIVING THIS CAR AND IT IS NOT SAFE. FOR ME TO GET IT FIXED WILL BE APPROXIMATELY $2000 AND IF THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE, FORD SHOULD FIX IT.
The contact owns a 2009 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and initially diagnosed with brake master cylinder failure. The brake master cylinder was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The mechanic then diagnosed the vehicle with Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and hydraulic failure. The Antilock Brake System (ABS) and hydraulic needed to be replaced however, parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V733000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control) however, neither the VIN nor the type of vehicle was included in the recall. The failure mileage was 49,900.
ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN MAKING STEERING VERY DIFFICULT. AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS OVERNIGHT AND COOLS DOWNS THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING WILL BEGIN WORKING AGAIN MOST OF THE TIME. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS DURING THE LAST FEW MONTHS

I WAS DRIVING AND MY BRAKES FELT SOFT, ALMOST HAVING TO GO ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. I TOOK IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY, UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING MY VEHICLE. AFTER DOING MULTIPLE THINGS, DEALERSHIP SAID WAS MY MASTER CYLINDER. SO HAD MY MASTER CYLINDER. THEY CALL TO SAY, THEY TEST DRIVE MY CAR AND MY CAR WAS STOPPING FINE. I PICKED UP MY CAR, DRIVING HOME, IT FELT EXACTLY AS WHEN I DROPPED OFF MY CAR. I CALLED THEM BACK NEXT DAY TO ADVISE OF SAME AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING IT MAY BE ABS MODULE
THERE IS A SYSTEMATIC FAILURES OF BRAKING SYSTEM ON THIS MODEL, MASTER CYLENDER, BOOSTER, ABS PUMP, ETC. IT'S A BADLY DESIGNED BRAKING SYSTEM THAT FAILS AT ANY TIME, PUTTING LIVES OF PEOPLE UNDER DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. MORE OFTEN THEN NOT THOSE FAILURES ARE OCCURRING AT LOW SPEEDS. BRAKE FAILURE IS MOST COMMON PROBLEM ON FORD ESCAPE CARS THAT LOOKS LIKE OCCURRING MUCH MORE OFTEN THEN EVEN ON REST OF FORD VEHICLES.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST HAS FAILED TWO TIMES. FIRST TIME EXPERIENCED NO POWER STEERING WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. THE SECOND TIME IT FAILED WAS WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN TAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN CAUSING MY DAUGHTER TO CROSS INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
I PURCHASED A USED 2009 FORD ESCAPE XLT THREE YEARS 8 MONTHS AGO. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING IS GONE. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL THAT BEGAN JULY OF 2014 AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT REPROGRAMMED BUT IT HAS GONE OUT AGAIN WHICH SPEAKS TO IT BEING A CHRONIC ISSUE. AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL THAT CAME OUT OF THE KANSAS PLANT, IT SHOULD BE REPLACED AT NO COST AS OPPOSED TO SIMPLY BEING REPROGRAMMED AS IT IS NOW A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT TO MENTION THAT IT RENDERS MY CAR UNDRIVABLE. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED THE FIRST TIME SIX MONTHS AGO WHILE I WAS AT AN OFFICE DEPOT PARKING LOT ABOUT TO ACCESS A BUSY, MAIN THOROUGHFARE. I THOUGHT I FORGOT TO RELEASE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, SO I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED WITH NO ISSUE. THIS PAST SATURDAY, I RAN ERRANDS EARLY IN THE DAY AND EXPERIENCED NO PROBLEMS WITH STEERING BUT LATER IN THE DAY AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THE STEERING WENT OUT. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. APPARENTLY THE ISSUE FALLS UNDER THE PCR ELECTRONIC STEERING CATEGORY 14SO5

BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR, NO WARNING LIGHTS OR MESSAGES FOR BRAKE ISSUES, FOUND ABS UNIT HAD FAILED. FORD REPLACEMENT UNITS ON BACKORDER. HAD TO SOURCE USED ABS UNIT. THERE ARE KNOWN RECALLS FOR OTHER MODEL FORDS USING SIMILAR ABS UNITS.
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES IN A SLUSHY PARKING LOT THE ABS BRAKES WERE ACTIVATED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR BARELY STOPPING THE CAR. THE MASTER CYLINDER THOUGHT TO BE THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPLACED PROFESSIONALLY. THE PEDAL SOMETIMES STILL GOES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR AND YOU NEVER NO WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. AN ON LINE SEARCH PROVED A PREVALENT PROBLEM WITH THE 2009 FORD ESCAPE. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 68,540 MILES! FORD IS NOT WILLING TO ADDRESS THIS PREVALENT DEFECT. PLEASE HELP.
STEERING HAS TENSION WITHOUT WARNING HAVE TO STOP KILL THE CAR WAIT. RESTART. TO RESET...ANY SUDDEN TURNS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD.!!!!!!!! THERE SHOULD. NOT BE AN EXPIRATION ON SUCH AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL
THE TORQUE SENSOR FOR MY CALL WAS REPAIRED DUE TO RECALL BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THE RECALL ISSUE RELATED TO TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE HAS REOCCURRED AND HAS NEARLY CAUSED ME SEVERAL ACCIDENTS DUE TO LOSS OF POWER STEERING. FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A TWO LANE MOUNTAIN ROAD. ALMOST CAUSING ME TO GO OVER THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN. I WAS ABLE TO USE BRUTE FORCE TO GET BACK INTO MY LANE AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT.

FORD ESCAPE IVE OWNED FOR OVER 10 YEARS. LOVED IT UNTIL NOW. IT WAS PARKED IN GARAGE. STARTED IT AND BEGAN TO BACK OUT STRAIGHT , TO GO TO WORK IN THE MORNING. COULDNT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. TOOK TO MECHANIC , HE SAID THE CODE READS POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE CODE. SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT IS A LISTED RECALL. 14S05. DEALERSHIP SAID THE SOFTWARE HAD ALREADY BEEN UPDATED FOR THIS VIN AND THEY WOULD'T FIX IT. ITS OBVIOUS THE SOFTWARE UPDATE DIDN'T FIX IT , AND FORD IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES OR THEIR LONG STANDING CUSTOMERS. VERY DISAPPOINTING. NOW IM FORCED TO PAY FOR A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR, AND HAVE BEEN CARLESS FOR OVER A WEEK. LUCKILY I WAS JUST BACKING OUT THE DRIVEWAY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IF I WAS DRIVING.
MY FORD ESCAPE HYBRID STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO EXHIBIT ODD BEHAVIOR AS WE WERE DRIVING TO HIKE A TRAIL IN MILL VALLEY. THE WHEEL WOULD PULSE/TURN TO THE RIGHT A LITTLE BIT REAL QUICK AND THEN GO BACK TO NORMAL. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND ALL WAS NORMAL AGAIN AS WE DROVE ANOTHER 5 MILES TO OUR DESTINATION. WE GOT OUT OF THE CARD AND HIKED FOR ABOUT 90 MINUTES BEFORE RETURNING TO THE CAR. ONCE I STARTED THE CAD, I NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO TURN. I HAD TO DRIVE 2 HOURS HOME FROM THE HIKE LOCATION WITH ABSOLUTELY NO POWER STEERING ASSIST. I TOOK THE CAD INTO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS FORMED THERE ARE NO ACTIVE RECALLS FOR OUR VIN AND IT WILL COST OVER $2000 TO REPLACE THE FAULTY ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN. ALSO WORTH NOTING, WE PURCHASED THIS 2009 FORD ESCAPE HYBRID BRAND NEW AT 300 MILES. AT JUST 4,000 MILES, YES 3,700 MILES LATER, THE STEERING COLUMN WENT OUT AND FORD REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY (OF COURSE). SO NOW, HERE WE ARE AGAIN, ABOUT 100K MILES LATER, AND THE STEERING COLUMN THEY PUT IN IS AGAIN FAULTY, AND THEY ARE UNWILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, WANTING ME TO PAY THE FULL $2K+ TO REPLACE IT AND FOR LABOR.
THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHEN STARTING THE CAR. MY ESCAPE BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER. WHEN I SEARCHED MY VIN THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS MODEL BUT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
MY 2009 FORD ESCAPE'S POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FAILED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY . THE DASHBOARD INFORMATION AREA READ 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER TO GET IT FIXED, THEY TOLD ME MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS SEEING THAT MY VEHICLE HAS THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE RECALLING THESE VEHICLES. WHY IS THAT??
DROVE MY CAR TO MY DESTINATION WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS PARKED IT, WENT IN TO VISIT HUSBAND IN HOSPITAL WAS THERE FOR SIX HOURS CAME OUT STARTED MY CAR TO LEAVE AND HAD AN IDIOT LIGHT POP UP THAT SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND I SUDDENLY HAD NO POWER STEERING. NO WARNING SIGNS LEADING UP TO IT OR ANYTHING. IT WAS EXTREMELY COLD WITH A 25 BELOW WIND CHILL AND SNOWING HEAVILY ENDANGERING MY SAFETY TO GET HOME. I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2008 TO 2012 ESCAPES BUT WHEN I CALLED AND REPORTED MY VIN THEY SAID MY CALL WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, HOW CAN MY CAR NOT BE A PART OF THE RECALL WHEN IT DID EXACTLY WHAT WAS EXPLAINED WOULD HAPPEN IN THE RECALL. I FEEL I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FAULTY PARTS THAT ARE KNOWN FOR THIS ISSUE AND IF I CANT GET THIS RESOLVED I WILL CONTACT AN ATTORNEY, FILE A COMPLAINT WITH ATTORNEY GENERAL, AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. THIS IS NOT AND ISSUE I HAVE CAUSED THUS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE YOU HAVE HAD WITH SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES OR A RECALL WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ISSUED.
I SUDDENLY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT COME ON. UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE IT WAS FOUND TO MOST LIKELY BE A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. ALSO I CAN NOT DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY FOR MORE THAN 5-10 MINUTES AT 60 MPH BEFORE IT STARTS TO SHIMMY AND BECOME UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
