TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE DRIVER COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND RESUMED DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A CODE P2112 FAILED, AND THE THROTTLE BODY STOCK CLOSED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED ACTION NUMBER: PD12006. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
THE REAR HATCH LOCK WILL NOT RELEASE TO OPEN, ONLY THE WINDOW WILL OPEN. THIS HAPPENS EVEN WHEN ALL OF THE LOCKS ARE OPEN.
ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE STARTS TO REV UP WHEN I AM WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR DRIVING. IT SCARES ME THAT I PUSH ON THE BRAKE MORE AS I AM WAITING FOR TRAFFIC LIGHT TO CHANGE OR WHEN I AM DRIVING I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL BECAUSE AM AFRAID OF GOING FASTER.
REAR SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER IS LOCKED IN THE DOWN POSITION, AND CANNOT BE RETURNED UPRIGHT. WHEN DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY SURGES FORWARD , ESPECIALLY WHEN STARTING FROM PARKED OR A STOPPED POSITION AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. CODE READ "THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR"
CAR STALLS AND RUNS ERRATIC AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISPLAYED. AUTO REPAIR PLACE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM RELATED TO THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN IDENTIFIED AND IS COVERED UNDER A FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AGREEMENT FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD.
TAKATA RECALL
TURNED RIGHT ONTO FREEWAY ONRAMP WITH SLIGHT INCLINE, AFTER DRIVING A COUPLE OF MILES. MADE IT ABOUT 20 FEET WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STOPPED WORKING. UNABLE TO COAST OUT OF LANE OF TRAFFIC DUE TO INCLINE AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY MULTIPLE VEHICLES DURING RUSH HOUR. TWO RED WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH (I THINK ENGINE OIL AND BATTERY). NOTHING STOPPED BESIDES THE GAS PEDAL (RADIO, A/C WERE STILL RUNNING). PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED OFF. WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL WORKED AGAIN. VEHICLE HAD NEW THROTTLE BODY RELATED TO CSP 13N03 AT 41,000 MILES. CURRENT MILEAGE 90,000.
CAR STARTED STALLING ON A BUSY INTERSTATE AND WAS BROUGHT TO THE NEXT EXIT BY DRIVING ON THE SHOULDER AND REPEATEDLY RESTARTING THE ENGINE. THE LOCAL FIRESTONE GARAGE SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY.
WHILE IN MOTION, ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS (3 WEEKS APART) MY BRAKE SYSTEM WENT OUT AND RESORTED TO THE DEFAULT EMERGENCY BRAKE FUNCTIONS WHERE I WAS ABLE TO ENGAGE MY BRAKES SLOWLY AFTER PRESSING THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN. HAD I BEEN ON A HIGHWAY OR GOING FAST, I THINK I COULD HAVE DIED. THE FIRST OCCASION, THE MECHANICS TOLD ME THAT MY BRAKES WERE FINE BECAUSE THEY WENT TO DIAGNOSE MY CAR AND IT WAS ACTING NORMAL, BUT THAT THEY SAW THE COMPUTER ERROR CODES. I ALSO HAD A PICTURE OF ALL MY WARNING LIGHTS THAT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. THE SECOND TIME, THE FORD DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN SAYS THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE I HAVE LEARNED I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO EXPERIENCE THIS IN A FORD HYBRID. THIS ISN'T A SMALL PROBLEM. THIS COULD DEFINITELY KILL SOMEBODY.
SUV STALLS, NO ACCELERATION. LIGHT LOOKING LIKE A WRENCH COMES ON WHEN CAR STALLS.
DRIVING AND VEHICLE "GULPED" AND SLOWED TO LESS THAN 10 MILES PER HOUR. DUE TO TRAFFIC WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND GET OFF ROADWAY. CALLED TOW TRUCK...$45.00 AND HAD TOWED TO CLOSE MECHANIC AND THEY FOUND THAT THE "THROTTLE BODY WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY". VEHICLE HAS 84,872 MILES ON IT. THEY REPLACED THROTTLE BODY AND CLEARED CODES...$346.92. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM AND THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP. REPAIRS WERE MADE AT ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR, 114 E AUSTIN, BOLIVAR, MO 65613 AND COMPLETED ON 5/9/2016
BOTH REAR WHEEL WELLS ARE RUSTING. THIS STARTING HAPPENING AROUND 2016. I SEE MANY OTHER 2010 ESCAPES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS WIDE-SPREAD PROBLEM.
CAR DIED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE IN TRAFFIC ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY. IT'S WILL START RUNNING RUFF AND THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH. STOP THE CAR, PUT IT PARK AND SHUT IT OFF FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS, THEN CRANK IT BACK UP, THE WRENCH LIGHT IS OFF AND IT IS RUNNING FINE. THE LAST TIME IT DID IT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK CAR TO TIRE KINDLE SO THEY COULD READ THE CODE AS THE FORD DEALER WAS CLOSED. CODE WAS THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR WAS STUCK WIDE OPEN. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED ABOUT 10,000 BACK WITH MY WIFE. THE CAR HAD ABOUT 45,000 MILES. SHE TOOK IT.TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AS THERE HAVE BEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED AS IT IS LIFE THREATENING BY DOING THIS HEAVY TRAFFIC SITUATIONS.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE GOT SLUGGISH. WOULD ONLY GO 35 MPH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF AND TURN ON AND THE SAME THING KEPT HAPPENING. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE THE SPEED LIMIT IS WELL OVER 35 AND MY CAR WOULD NOT GO FASTER. WHEN I TOOK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET FIXED, IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. IT WAS FIXED BUT WHEN RESEARCHING THIS ONLINE, I NOTICED THERE WERE MANY CARS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS LOST ACCELERATION GOING UPHILL AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND STOPPED. STOPPED ENGINE FOR A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED. ENGINE STARTED NORMALLY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ACCELERATION ERRATIC AND RPM ON ACCELERATION HIGH BUT NOT IN THE REDLINE. ONCE ON LEVEL HIGHWAY COULD GET TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND LEVELED OUT AT A CONSTANT SPEED AND RPM WAS NEAR NORMAL. DROVE TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP REPORTED NO CODES BUT ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY SHORTING INTERNALLY. REPLACED ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. DEALERSHIP STATED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. VEHICLE HAD 90, 232 MILES AT DEALERSHIP.
POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT WHILE MY WIFE AND HER CLIENT WERE PARKING AT A RETAIL STORE. POWER STEERING HAS NOT RETURNED SINCE. MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE SAFELY BUT NOT ABLE TO STEER IT TO MOVE THE VEHICLE ANYWHERE AFTER THAT (I HAD TO WRESTLE WITH THE STEERING TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR FACILITY). THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THIS AS A TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE. RECALL 14S05 SERVICE WAS PERFORMED IN 2014 IN AS MUCH AS THE SOFTWARE FOR THE SYSTEM WAS UPDATED -NO PARTS WERE REPLACED. FORD HAS STATED THAT THE TORQUE SENSORS IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE KNOWN TO BE FAULTY YET, WHEN A UNIT FAILS (LIKE MINE) AFTER THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN UPDATED, THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. MY VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 83,000 MILES WHICH IS WELL BELOW THE REASONABLE LIFE EXPECTANCY FOR A TORQUE SENSOR. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RECALL DEPARTMENTS HAVE REFUSED ANY FURTHER REMEDIATION.
THE STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM TURNS ON AND OFF AT WILL AND MAKES THE VEHICLE NEARLY INOPERABLE AND DEFINETLY A SAFEFTY ISSUE.
FOR ABOUT A MONTH, WHEN I WOULD FIRST BEGIN TO LEAVE MY RESIDENCE, THE FORD ESCAPE WOULD SURGE FORWARD MAYBE 5 TO 10 FEET WHILE ALREADY IN MOTION ON THE STREET. THEN THE ESCAPE STALLED COMPLETELY WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A TURN... THANK GOD I DID NOT TURN IN FRONT OF SOME ON-COMING VEHICLES. THE ESCAPE HAS ALSO FELT LIKE IT WANTED TO STALL SEVERAL OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING AROUND TOWN BEFORE IT FINALLY DID JUST BEFORE THAT TURN I ALREADY MENTIONED. FORD HAS NOT OFFERED TO BUY THIS VEHICLE BACK (OUTSIDE OF A TRADE-IN FOR A NEW PURCHASE) BUT I SURE WISH TO GOD THEY WOULD. I HAD THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT BY FORD & THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY FOR THE THIRD/3RD TIME! IT IS UNDER A 150,000 MILE RECALL FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM. OUR VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 70,000 MILES & WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED 3 TIMES! WE BOUGHT THE ESCAPE BRAND NEW... NEARLY $40,000 WITH ALL THE BELLS & WHISTLES... I THINK WE AVERAGE ABOUT 8,000 MILES BEFORE EACH MAJOR PROBLEM... INSANE.... DISGUSTING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER AND SHOOK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V4280000 (STEERING), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED NO FAILURES BEFORE THE RECALL. SINCE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
REAR WINDSHIELD SHATTERED UPON NORMAL CLOSING OF TAILGATE. I HAVE ADDITIONAL PICTURES
DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WOULD CLOSE, AN HOUR LATER THE REAR LIFT GATE WOULD NOT OPEN. THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN THE LIFT GATE FROM INSIDE CAR, IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT AND NEEDED TO GET OUT THROUGH THE BACK.
THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS MELTED FROM THE HEAT OF THE BRAKE LIGHT BULBS. THE PLASTIC MELTS AND BREAKS THE LIGHT BULBS OUT OF THE SOCKETS.THIS WORRIES ME AS IT SEEMS LIKE A FIRE HAZARD AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S CAUSING IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. MY POWER STERING SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AND HAD TO BE REPLACED THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS BUT NOT WITH MY VIN NUMBER I WANT TO KNOW WHY NOT WHEN I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL AND IT WAS FOR 2008-2011 ESCAPES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE VILOENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING BOX WAS FAULTY AND THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN 2014, THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY REGARDING A USED 2010 FORD ESCAPE THAT WE BOUGHT (FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP) YESTERDAY. I RESEARCHED THE VEHICLE & LEARNED THAT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE "ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY" (ETB) IN THIS VEHICLE. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE FORD CSR THAT THERE A "REDESIGNED" ETB PART THAT IS USED TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL PART THAT IS PRONE TO FAIL SUDDENLY. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE ETB WHICH ACCORDING TO FORD IS PRONE TO FAIL COULD RESULT IN SUDDEN STALLING AND/OR REDUCED POWER TO THE CAR.... WHICH COULD PLACE THE DRIVE (MY 16YO SON, NEW DRIVER) IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS AND/OR LIFE THREATENING SITUATION WHILE DRIVING. THE FORD CSR ACKNOWLEDGED THAT, AND EVEN AFTER HE REPORTEDLY DISCUSSED MY CONCERN WITH HIS "MANAGER", INFORMED ME THAT FORD WOULD ONLY REPLACE THE PART "...AFTER IT FAILS". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME AS A CONSUMER & FATHER OF MY SON WHO WILL BE DRIVING THIS CAR. APPARENTLY, FORD IS WILLING TO "GAMBLE" ON MY SON'S (AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD) SAFETY & HEALTH. I CALLED OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHO INFORMED ME THE COST OF REPLACING THE (PRONE TO FAULT) ECB WITH THE "REDESIGNED" ETB WAS $386 (=$210 LABOR + $176 PART). IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME THAT FORD WILL NOT, UPON REQUEST OF A FORD ESCAPE OWNER, REPLACE AT FORD'S COST FORD'S ACKNOWLEDGED PRONE-TO-FAIL ETB WHICH CAN POTENTIALLY PUT MY SON'S LIFE AT RISK. THIS FAR EXCEEDS ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE... APPARENTLY FORD IS WILLING TO TAKE A "KNOWN RISK & GAMBLE" ON THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF THOSE WHO PURCHASE/DRIVE OF THEIR VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACTS OWNS A 2010 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V777000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT DID NOT EXPERIENCE A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
UPON STARTING UP THE CAR, AND AFTER ACCELERATING, THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND ANTI SKID LIGHTS CAME ON AND THERE WAS A CHIME. UPON PRESSING ON THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE. LUCKILY I WAS ON A SIDE STREET BOTH TIMES AND HAD ROOM TO COAST TO A STOP WITHOUT HITTING ANYTHING. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE SPAN OF THREE DAYS. UPON HAVING IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER, THEY STATED THE ABS MODULE HAD FAILED AND THEY REPLACED IT.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY IS CAUSING MAJOR ISSUES WHILE DRIVING

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD LEAKED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V777000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,191. UPDATED 05/04/17*LJ

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AS I DROVE. GOOGLED, LOTS OF PROBLEMS, BAD PART IN STEERING COLUMN, SOME RECALLED NOT THIS VIN. SHOULD BE.
JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW, SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT FUELING ISSUES. CHECK THE VENT VALVE ATTACHED TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. I REPLACED ONE AND THE VEHICLE FUELS UP JUST GREAT. ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OUT AFTER A FEW DAYS
INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING FAILURE. THIS FAILURE HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. THE POWER STEERING FAILED AT LOW AND MODERATE SPEEDS, ON CITY STREETS, WITHOUT WARNING. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD EASILY CASE AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO A LOCAL DEALER TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM.
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE RECALL 14S05C PERFORMED (SEPT 2015). AT THAT TIME THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES SHOWING IN THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. IN JAN 2016 ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK BACK AND FORTH AND A CHIME SOUNDED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN GEAR AND STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. NO LIGHT WAS LEFT TURNED ON ON THE DASHBOARD. I READ THE SERVICE CODES FROM THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE AND CODE B2278 WAS PRESENT. UPON RETURNING TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT FORD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE FAILING PART (THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE RECALL IF THE CODE WAS PRESENT WHEN I FIRST BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN).

IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND FEEL SAFE, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME VIA BACK ROADS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SWITCH IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE POWER STEERING MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,200.
ONE DAY CLOSED THE REAR HATCH GLASS AND THE HINGE HOLDING THE GLASS IN PLACE FELL APART DUE TO CORROSION. NOW THE WINDOW IS BARELY HANGING ON ONLY WITH THE HELP OF THE LATCH LOCKING IT IN PLACE. NOT A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF ANTI-CORROSIVE USED ON THE METAL TO PROTECT IT. NOW HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND WITH IT BARELY HANGING ON UNTIL THE REPLACES PARTS I ORDERED COME IN BECAUSE THEY COULD ONLY BE FOUND ON THE INTERNET. ALSO TOO THE WEATHERSTRIPPING AROUND THE WINDOW IS NOT PLUSH ENOUGH I THINK TO PROTECT THE INSIDE FROM WATER DAMAGE WHICH ALSO LEAD TO THE WHOLE LIFTGATE FAILING TO OPEN ANYMORE. I FEEL FORD SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP THEY DID WHEN FIRST BUILDING THE CAR. AND I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM BUT I'M SURE OTHERS FAIL TO REPORT IT TO THE PROPER AGENCY.
THE FUEL INLET LIGHT WON'T GO OFF SAFETY RECALL EMISSIONS ON BOARD COMPUTER SYSTEMS I'M NOT PASSING INSPECTION
I WAS MAKING A LONG DISTANCE ROAD TRIP AND BEGAN TO NOTICE SUBTLE VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VIBRATIONS BEGAN TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY OVER TIME, MOST NOTICEABLY WHEN THE CAR WAS AT IDLE. AT ONE POINT THE VIBRATIONS WERE VERY INTENSE DURING IDLE. AFTER A REST STOP I TURNED THE CAR ON AND TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BUT HAD MUCH DIFFICULTY. THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. I HAD PREVIOUSLY BROUGHT MY ESCAPE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL #14S05 WHERE THEY UPDATED THE PSCM TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE I WAS EXPERIENCING NOW. THE TORQUE SENSOR HAS FAILED CAUSING THE EPAS TO SHUT OFF EVEN AFTER MY CAR WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED A YEAR PRIOR. FORD HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE FULLY AND THE WORK DONE TO CORRECT RECALL #14S05 IS INSUFFICIENT.
I HAD TURNED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS TRAVELING DOWN A BUSY ROAD WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. LUCKILY, I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND ON A BIT OF A DOWNWARD SLOPE AND WAS ABLE TO STEER THE "DEAD" CAR OFF THE ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A MINUTE. I TURNED ON THE CAR AND IT STARTED AGAIN. I AM CONCERNED AS I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND IF MY CAR SUDDENLY STOPS LIKE THAT AGAIN, THERE COULD BE DIRE CONSEQUENCES. THE EARLIEST A DEALER CAN LOOK AT MY CAR IS JANUARY 8TH. MY LOCAL DEALER - JANUARY 14TH. TODAY IS DECEMBER 28TH. AFTER READING SOME OF THESE REPORTS, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. MEANWHILE, I NEED TO RENT A CAR, UNTIL SOMEONE AT A FORD DEALER IS ABLE TO LOOK AT IT THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. HOWEVER, AFTER PREVIOUSLY HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP - I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED.

THERE IS A POSSABLE THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE ( I WAS SENT A EXTENDED WARRANTY) THE DEALER SAYS THE ENGINE MAY JUST QUIT AT ANY TIME WITH LOSS OF ALL POWER THATS DANGEROUS! THE DEALER SAYS I MUST DRIVE IT UNTIL IT FAILS (FORD WANTS TO SAVE MONEY)YOU CAN GET KILLED DRIVING THE TURNPIKE WITH THIS PROBLEM.
FORD ONLY PUT A ALARM ON DURING RECALL TAKEN BACK 2 MONTHS LATER TO BE TOLD WOULD NOT COVER COST OF ECM SENSOR WHICH COST $500.00. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD WILL NOT COVER. THEY FOUND A WAY AROUND REPLACING IT WITH A ALARM. HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO SAFELY STEER THE VEHICLE GOING 55 WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF THE SIDE OF THE RODE. THIS IS VERY DAUGEROUS. IT WENT OUT TWICE ON ME. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED IN TO IMMEDIATELY.

THE POWER STEERING FAULT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING ASSIST MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.
