THE DEALER CLAIMED THEY FIXED THE VEHICLE TODAY. THEY INDICATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AXLE WAS BROKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO FREE-WHEEL WHILE IN THE 'PARK' POSITION. THE ISSUE WAS NOT THE TRANSMISSION BUT THE DRIVER SIDE AXLE / CV JOINT. DEALER IS: GANLEY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM; 310 BROADWAY AVE, BEDFORD, OH 44146
CAUSE OF FAILURE IS BELIEVED TO BE TRANSMISSION FAILURE (MILEAGE 96,649). CUSTOMER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE (CITY STREET; APPROXIMATELY 35MPH) AND THEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE STARTED REVVING (SIMILAR TO THE CAR BEING IN NEUTRAL) AND THE VEHICLE SPEED STARTED TO SLOW DOWN (DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT PROVIDING FORWARD MOMENTUM). THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO A SIDE STREET SO IT COULD BE PARKED AND SAFELY REMOVED FROM VEHICLE TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE IS BEING ASSESSED BY THE DEALER WE PURCHASED IT FROM (GANLEY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 310 BROADWAY AVE, BEDFORD, OH 44146). I HAVE READ THAT OTHER OWNERS OF 2014 FORD ESCAPES HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND CONCERNS WITH THEIR TRANSMISSIONS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF FORD IS GOING TO ISSUE A RECALL REGARDING THIS TRANSMISSION.
I WAS DRIVING AND THE TRANSMISSION POPPED OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING AND THEN JUST STOPPED WORKING AND THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND HAD TO BE TOWED.
AFTER DRIVING THE SUV FOR AWHILE, AND WHEN ALTERNATING BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND THE GAS, THE SUV WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THE SUV WILL GIVE THE WARNING OF AN ENGINE FAULT, SERVICE NOW. THE SUV WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD DUE TO THE LACK OF A GAS PEDAL. THE SUV WILL START TO SHAKE AND RATTLE. THE ONLY OPTION A DRIVER THEN HAS IS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, TURN THE ENGINE OFF, AND TURN THE SUV BACK ON. ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE CARE, THE BRAKES, THE ELECTRICAL, THE POWER STEERING, ARE STILL FUNCTIONING. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS AS THIS FAULT HAS OCCURRED ON HIGHWAYS, RESIDENTIAL ROADS, AND CITY STREETS, AS WELL AS WHEN THE SUV IS MOVING INTO AN INTERSECTION AT STOP SIGNS AND RED LIGHTS.

THE COMMUNITY I LIVE IS LANDLOCKED (JUNEAU, ALASKA) AND THE ONE FORD DEALERSHIP CLOSED ITS DOORS A YEAR AND HALF LATER; SINCE THIS TIME THERE IS STILL NOT FORD DEALERSHIP OR AUTHORIZED FORD GARAGE IN THE JUNEAU AREA TO CORRECT THESE SIX RECALLED ITEMS - FORD TELLS MY I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO DEALER MYSELF, HOWEVER THE COST TO TRANSPORT THE 2014 ESCAPE WOULD COST IN THE THOUSANDS IN TRANSPORTATION COST. I'VE CALLED FORD SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE YEARS, AND REFUSED TO SEND TO SEND A TECHNICIAN OR OFFER A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO FIX THESE RECALLED ITEMS; SOME OF RECALLED ITEMS ARE PRETTY SERIOUS (POSSIBLE ENGINE FIRE, AND TRANSMISSION SLIPPING IN OR OUT GEAR). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER SCOTT PETERSON MOTORS LOCATED AT 30 5TH AVE, BELLE FOURCHE, SD 57717, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INTERNAL CLUTCH INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND GEARS ONE THRU FOUR WERE INOPERABLE AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND USED THE SEAT BELT TO SECURE THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER - RANDALL REED'S PARK CITIES FORD OF DALLAS (3333 INWOOD RD, DALLAS, TX 75235; (214) 296-4416) AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE WHICH DOOR LATCHES WERE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. AS I AM DRIVING MY SUV, AND MOVE FROM THE BRAKE TO THE GAS PEDAL, THERE WILL BE NO EXCELLERATION AND MY CAR WILL NO LONGER HAVE THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD OR USE THE GAS PEDAL AT ALL. THE CAR WILL START TO SHAKE AND THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE IS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHUT THE CAR OFF, AND TURN THE CAR BACK ON. THIS HAS OCCURRED DRIVING DOWN A ROAD (BOTH HIGHWAY, RESIDENTIAL, CITY STREETS), AT A STOP LIGHT, AT INTERSECTIONS, AND I HAVE NARROWLY AVOIDED ACCIDENTS. THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES IN A MONTH.
I WAS LEAVING THE DOCTORS OFFICE AND STARTED MY CAR AND THE VEHICLE ALERTED ME WITH "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED", I TURNED THE OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE ALERT WENT AWAY AND MY CAR SEEMS OK NOW BUT NOW I'M WORRIED IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE I'M DRIVING.

VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A STOP LIGHT. IT THEN SURGED FORWARD AND STALLED AGAIN. MANAGED TO GET IT INTO A PARKING AREA AND OFF THE HIGHWAY. HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. INFORMED IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. HAS LESS THAN 76000 MILES.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving various speeds, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle with the steering assist fault service required warning message illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and the mechanic performed a steering gear update on the vehicle. Recently, the contact stated that after reversing out of her driveway, the failure returned as the same warning message reappeared on the instrument panel. Upon restart, the vehicle resumed normal operation; however, the failure would intermittently occur while driving at various speeds. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED AFTER 80,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE AND ALL FORWARD MOTION STOPPED WHILE THE ENGINE RAN AT A HIGH RPM. BRAKED THE CAR TO A STOP THEN TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN ANY GEAR. HAD TO BE TOWED. TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND THE TWO TRUCK DRIVER SAID THIS IS COMMON WITH 2014 ESCAPES. COST FOR TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT WILL BE $6,000
BLOWN HEAD GASKET
TOOK ESCAPE TO DEALER ON 08/26/20, ALL CHECKED OUT. SOMEONE HAD MARKED COOLANT RESEVOIR ON THE PAPER WORK DONE AT DEALER, WAS WRITTEN IN AND THEN IT WAS CROSSED OFF. FAST FOWARD 3 WEEKS AND DASH READ "TURN OFF ENGINE TOO HOT" TOOK TO DEALER NO OTHER MECHANIC HAS TOUCHED CAR AND THEY STATED THE RESEVOIR HAD LEAKED AND THAT THE ENGINE MOUNT WAS CORRODED. THEY TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR NOT TAKING ACTION ON A BROKEN RESEVOIR THAT CORRODED ENGINE MOUNT. THIS HAPPENED ON WHILE DRIVING 20 MINUETS ON THE FREEWAY.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was scanned for codes and the failure was related to the coolant in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired The manufacturer was notified of the failure, opened a case, and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) as the contact was relating the failure to the recall. The failure mileage was 31,000.
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO RECALL 17V209000 FOR MY 2014 FORD ESCAPE. I HAD THIS FIXED IN 2019, BUT I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE. FIRST OF ALL, MY CAR HAD BEEN OVERHEATING, AND I HAD TO ADD COOLANT CONSTANTLY, WHICH WAS A SYMPTOM OF THE RECALL ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE CARE OF THE RECALL, WHICH THEY SAID THEY DID, BUT THEY TOLD ME THE OVERHEATING WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE RECALL PROBLEM, BUT SOMETHING ELSE, SO IN ADDITION TO FIXING THE RECALL PROBLEM, THEY SAID THEY FIXED ANOTHER PROBLEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE OVERHEATING AND CHARGED ME $250. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS, AND I'M NOT EVEN SURE IF THEY FIXED THE RECALL PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THEY REPORTED THAT THEY DID, BUT THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK TO HAVE IT INSTALLED. I BELIEVE THE RECALL ISSUE CAUSED A CRACKED CYLINDER BECAUSE LAST MONTH I HAD TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE (AT MY EXPENSE) INSTALLED. THIS CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE KEPT CURRENT WITH PERIODIC OIL CHANGES AND CHECK-UPS. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS WITH FILING A CLAIM, OR SOME KIND OF REPORT OR RECOURSE FOR THIS?

SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE. TURBO WAS REPLACED. A FEW MONTHS LATER CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 20MPH. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED.

THE CYLINDER HEAD CRACKED AND COOLANT HAS ENTERED THE MOTOR. LEAKS OIL, THE OIL MAY CONTACT A HOT ENGINE OR EXHAUST COMPONENT, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE. MY ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, THE ENGINE FAULT ICON HAS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME $7,000 TO REPL;ACE THE ENGINE. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 6 YEARS NEW.

VEHICLE HAS HAD HARD SHIFTS BUT SEEMED TO BE OK. HAD DEALER CHECK IT OUT ABOUT A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE. TOOK VEHICLE IN ON ABOVE DATE FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND RECALL. WAS NOTIFIED BY DEALER THERE WAS A LEAK, POSSIBLY OIL AND THEY NEEDED TO CHECK. CHARGED ME $140 FOR DIAGNOSTIC OF LEAK. WAS NOTIFIED NEXT BUSINESS DAY, WHICH WAS 4 DAYS LATER DUE TO HOLIDAY WEEKEND THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK FROM A BAD SEAL AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE TRANSMISSION AND "CRACK OPEN THE TRANSMISSION TO GET TO MD REPLACE THE SEAL". STATED IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $1750. I ASKED WHY THE SEAL WENT BAD AS THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 15,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN SERVICED AAT FORD DEALERS ONLY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER RECCOMMENDATIONS. THEY STATED THEY DIDNT KNOW BUT MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I WENT TO FORD'S WEBSITE CUSTOMER SERVICE CHAT AND THEY HAD NO ANSWER OTHER THAN IM OUT OF WARRANTY AND WOULD OFFER NO HELP. I ASKED IF I COULD SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND THEY RESTATED THEY WONT HELP ME AS IM OUT OF WARRANTY.
MY 2014 FORD ESCAPE HAS OVERHEATED SOMETIME IN THE FALL OF 2019, DUE TO A LEAK IN THE COOLANT TANK, UNEXPECTEDLY SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING ON A SMALL TOWN ROAD AT 40 MI/HR WITH CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. I PAID FORD $600 TO REPLACE THE TANK. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020, THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AGAIN, SUDDENLY SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING 55 MI/HR ON A BUSY ROAD. I HAD CHILDREN IN THE CAR, WHEN THE ERROR OCCURRED AGAIN.THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOWED NO SIGN OF OVERHEATING IN EITHER OCCURRENCE. THE ONLY MESSAGE I RECEIVED FROM THE DASH WAS "POWER REDUCED TO COOL ENGINE" ABOUT 3 SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. SMOKE APPEARED FROM UNDER THE HOOD IN BOTH INSTANCES. THE SECOND TIME AROUND, I ATTEMPTED TO REFILL THE COOLANT, WHICH LEAKED OUT ONTO THE GROUND. HOWEVER, THIS TIME THE LEAK DIDN'T APPEAR TO COME FROM THE COOLANT TANK, BUT RATHER THE ENGINE ITSELF. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND IT TURNS OUT, MANY OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL CARS HAVE BEEN CATCHING ON FIRE AND/OR PRODUCING THE SAME ISSUE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR IT, BUT FORD TOLD ME THAT BASED ON MY VIN, MY CAR DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL. THEY ASKED ME PAY $3,000 REPLACE A BLOWN GASKET THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE SYSTEM OVER HEATING. OBVIOUSLY, THESE EXPENSIVE PARTS CONTINUE TO BREAK DUE TO A FAULTY ENGINE. YET, INSTEAD OF FIXING THE ROOT CAUSE, FORD MILKS ITS CUSTOMERS FOR HUNDREDS, EVEN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF REPAIRS, KNOWING THE CAR WILL CONTINUE TO SHUT OFF AND CAUSE FINANCIAL, EVENTUALLY PHYSICAL HARM TO PEOPLE. MY QUESTION'S ARE: -HOW MUCH MORE MONEY DO I HAVE TO SPEND ON A FAULTY ENGINE THAT WILL CONTINUE TO SHUT OFF AND PUT MY AND MY FAMILY'S LIFE IN DANGER? -HOW CAN FORD REFUSE TO FIX A RECALL BASED ON VIN NUMBERS, IF THE ISSUE IS LIFE-THREATENING AND EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE RECALL ISSUE?
MY LINKAGE TO MY POWER TRAIN STICKS AND WILL JUMP FROM DRIVE TO SPORT MODE WHEN I AM DRIVING AND HAVENT TOUCHED THE SHIFTER AT ALL. ITS HARD TO GET MY CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND HARDER TO PUT IT INTO PARK. I RARELY CAN GET IT TO GO INTO DRIVE AND HAVE TO PUT IT INTO SPORT AND IT WILL STILL JUMP GEARS. I CAN BE GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND I CAN SEE THE GEARS JUMP FROM DRIVE TO SPORT. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT FROM GEAR TO GEAR.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP LIGHT MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND JERKING PRETTY VIOLENTLY. I NEEDED TO GET TO WORK SO I KEPT DRIVING AND AT THE NEXT LIGHT THE SAME THING HAPPENED ONLY MORE EXTREME AND THEN THE CAR STOPPED. I STARTED THE CAR BACK UP VERY EASILY SO I KEPT GOING. NO ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH SO I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THAT BAD. THE NEXT LIGHT CAME AND THE CAR WOULD START BUT IT WOULDN'T GO ANYMORE. AGAIN NO LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH SO I HAD ZERO WARNING WHATSOEVER AND I WAS STRANDED AT THAT STOPLIGHT. HAD TO CALL THE COPS BECAUSE I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK AND THE DEALERSHIP I BROUGHT IT TO SAID IT WAS A BAD TORQUE CONVERTER AND THAT IT'S A COMMON ISSUE. IF THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THIS WITH ZERO WARNING AND A NEW TRANSMISSION IS SO EXPENSIVE. JUST THE FACT THAT THEY STRAIGHT UP TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND THERE'S NO RECALL ON IT MAKES ME NOT WANT TO BUY ANOTHER FORD AGAIN EVEN THOUGH I DO LOVE MY CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE REPAIR FAILED TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT TWO WEEKS LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD WAS FRACTURED AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.

THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY OVERHEATS AT TIMES AND SMOKES. NO MATTER THE AMOUNT OF COOLANT THAT'S IN THE TANK IT SEEMS LIKE IT'S NEVER FULL AND IT BURNS IT UP WITHIN MINUTES. THE VEHICLE CAN ONLY BE DRIVEN LESS THAN 8 MILES BEFORE IT STARTS SMOKING. WHEN DRIVING UPHILL SOMETIMES IT'LL SAY 'REDUCED POWER DUE TO OVERHEATING' EVEN THOUGH YOU JUST STARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT COULDN'T BE THAT HOT YET. THERE'S A RECALL ON THIS EXACT MODEL OF VEHICLE FOR THE SAME THING AND I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 60 MPH, HE NOTICED THAT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE HAD BEEN RISING INDICATING THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING. AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PULL HE VEHICLE OVER, THE ENGINE FAULT SERVICE ENGINE NOW WARNING LIGHT HAD APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL POLICE STATION WERE IN REMAINED IN THEIR POSSESSION. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REBUILD THE VEHICLE, THEY OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMED PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE CARE, THE BRAKES, THE ELECTRICAL, THE POWER STEERING, ARE STILL FUNCTIONING. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS AS THIS FAULT HAS OCCURRED ON HIGHWAYS, RESIDENTIAL ROADS, AND CITY STREETS, AS WELL AS WHEN THE SUV IS BRAKING AT STOP SIGNS AND RED LIGHTS.

ON 22AUG2020 I WAS TRAVELING FROM FAYETTEVILLE, NC TO BLUFFTON, SC AND STOPPED IN SANTEE, SC FOR A BATHROOM BREAK. STARTED THE CAR UP TO LEAVE AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. TRIED TURNING OFF AND BACK ON BUT NO CHANGE. SO, I ENDED UP DRIVING 1.5 HOURS WITHOUT POWER STEERING. AFTER BEING AT MY DESTINATION FOR A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR I STARTED THE CAR TO GO SOMEWHERE AND THE STEERING WAS FINE AND HAS BEEN SINCE.

I HAD A FLAT TIRE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE AND WHEN AAA CAME OUT TO CHANGE THE TIRE, THEY COULD NOT GET THE LUG NUTS OFF, SO AAA HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP. THE SHOP HAD TOLD ME THAT THE LUG NUTS WHERE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OFF, WHICH THEY THOUGHT WAS DUE TO OVER TIGHTENING AND RECOMMENDED THAT ALL THE LUG NUTS ON ALL THE WHEELS BE REPLACED. I HAD THEM REPLACE ALL THE LUG NUTS. THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER AS I WAS DRIVING ON TOLLWAY DRIVING 60 MPH, I STARTED TO HEAR A THUMPING SOUND AND MY CAR SHAKING. THINKING I HAD ANOTHER FLAT TIRE I GOT OFF ON THE NEXT EXIT, WHICH WAS CLOSE TO THE SHOP I TOOK THE CAR BEFORE (LUCKILY). I TOLD THE SHOP MANAGER WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND WHEN THE SHOP TOOK THE CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL BROKE OFF DAMAGING THE CAR AND LUCKILY NOT HURTING ANYONE. THE SHOP SAID THAT THE STEMS FOR LUG NUT BROKE OFF! HE WAS NOT SURE HOW THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED. NOW THAT I HAVE READ THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE THIS SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT OF THE STEMS HOLDING THE LUG NUTS. IF THIS HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT 60 MPH I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! THE COST TO FIX THE DAMAGE TO MY CAR IS $2,110.53, WHICH I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY, STATE FARM. CLAIM AND REPAIRS ARE STILL IN PROCESS. AFTER READING OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY EVERYDAY GOING TO WORK.

THE BUSHING CABLE THAT CONNECTS TO THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2013/2014 MODELS BUT MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED. I FEEL THAT MINE SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL AND WAS FIXED AND DIAGNOSED BY A AUTHORIZED FORD DEALERSHIP . THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR ALTHOUGH THE GEAR SHIFT WAS MOVABLE. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED ON SKIDS
OUR 2014 FORD ESCAPE HAD A RECALL ON 02-15-18 FOR THE COOLANT SENSOR SYSTEM. REPAIR WAS DONE BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. ENGINE HAS COOLANT LEAK CAUSING SMOKE IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND LEAK UNDER THE HOOD. WE ARE AFRAID OF FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND IN THE CAR.ANYTIME WE START THIS VEHICLE OR DRIVE IT THIS HAPPENS.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE CHECKED THE CAR OUT AND CALLED ME TO TELL ME THAT THE VACUUM PUMP FAILED BECAUSE IT WASN'T GETTING ANY OIL FROM THE ENGINE AND IT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP. THE OIL GAUGE SHOWED THAT IT WAS FULL. NOW MY ENGINE NEEDS REPLACED! I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FORD OWNER AND FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO A 2014 FORD ESCAPE WELL I GUESS I WON'T BE BUYING A FORD PRODUCT AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING FROM COLORADO TO OKLAHOMA ON MAY 26TH 2020 AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED FORD MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW TURBO CHARGER $2800. DRIVING FROM OKLAHOMA TO COLORADO ON JUNE 5TH 2020.MY CAR OVERHEATED, ONCE AGAIN I TOOK IT TO A FORD CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW THERMOSTAT AND 2 OTHER SENSORS, $1300. ON AUGUST 13TH MY CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD GRINDING SOUND AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I DROVE 2HRS TO THE CLOSES FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW ENGINE TO THE TUNE OF $8000.
