My wife was driving the car on the interstate, when suddenly a "TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE NOW" message was displayed on the screen. Immediately after the message, the vehicle lost power. She managed to limp the vehicle off the interstate to an access road, and eventually into a parking lot. We had the vehicle towed to a local transmission shop. The independent shop told us that the torque converter had failed, causing damage to the transmission. We paid to have the transmission replaced. Three or four days prior to this event, my wife had noticed that the engine seemed to be revving higher than normal when accelerating. There were no warning messages displayed at that time.

When after fueling the car it will not start. You have to pump the gas and hurry and put it in gear or it will die. When it gets below a full tank while driving the gas tank starts to vibrate releasing pressure if you are not giving it fuel it will die while you are driving down the road, several formus explain hundreds of people experience this very same issue and no recall it needs to be recalled before someone gets seriously hurt . Something is wrong with the pressure build up senor or parts not sure been dealing with this issue for ever and each part i have replaced has not fixed the issue
Coolant bypass valve issues leading to engine overheating and coolant reservoir cracks and breaking down and needing replacements, multiple.

Initially diagnosed as a coolant leak due to requirement to constantly add coolant. There was no evidence of a leak. Shortly thereafter the car began experiencing hard starts and illumination of the check engine light (CEL). Code showed number 3 cylinder misfire. Subsequent starts had white smoke in conjunction with rough idle and CEL. Took to my mechanic and he said this is a known issue with this Engine and quoted me 9K for repairs. I did some searching online and found that this issue is VERY well known and Ford is currently in litigation over it.

This vehicle has fuel problems and I'm not able to pass the emissions test for a year. This vehicle has serious electrical problems when I go in reverse the radio starts cracking and popping really loud and it's very annoying and ear splitting. I don't think it's fair that the van is not showing a recall when you issued engine fire recalls for 2014 Ford escapes l feel mine should be included??

while driving on a busy road, the vehicle went into LIMP mode and would not move forward, the coolant was below the sensor and the vehicle said it would over heat, the block leaks coolant into the engine cylinder and there is no fix for this but to replace entire engine as per dealer. I was almost hit from the rear from traffic. the car had to be pushed into our driveway via a police car bump guard. the dealer could not find where the coolant was going too.

Ford recall 17S09 indicates back up camera malfunction indicating not working. My Ford Escape fits the year make and model, currently having that exact issue with a not working malfunctioning back up camera. Ford refuses to allow my VIN to be included into that recall repair even though it fits the parameters of the recall. Indicating the fault has to come from the NHTSA.
While I was driving, the transmission seemingly stopped working. I was able to coax the car into a parking lot and had it towed to the dealership. I was told the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. I was quoted approximately $7000.00 for this repair. All of its prior service, except for occasional oil changes, had been done at the dealership.
I have been leaking coolant when we looked at it to fix it the o-ring was warped and looked pinched and a piece of the coolant outlet flange was broken off
I saw that there is a current recall dealing with the cooling system on the Escape. My car has been over heating saying engine fault for the past two months. There now appears to be coolant in the engine.
Transmission has violent jerking and shuddering. Sometimes it has hard time accelerating. Dealer doesnt want to do anything. It is still messed up
Rapidly losing coolant without being able to find any leaks with the assumption it’s going into my engine. This also explains why my engine has been acting a bit funny.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the coolant temperature warning light illuminated. Rear view camera only operates intermittently. Most of the time it comes up with a message that says camera unavailable, and then goes to a blank screen. I was surprised and disappointed that this vehicle was not included in the massive Ford rear camera recall that was just issued
The Backup camera very rarely works on my 2013 Escape and the current recall is 2015 and above! What about earlier?
The Ford EcoBoost engine in my Ford Escape 2014 has consistent coolant leaking issues as reported by several other vehicle owners. I spent the last 4 years of owning it constantly returning to the dealership over this issue when my car was under warranty because the coolant tank kept leaking. They never fixed the leaking issue and when my warranty expired, they refused to help fix it any longer. I cannot afford a new car or the work I need to keep getting on it yet need it to get to work, and the constant need for my refilling of the coolant in the tank that progressively gets worse and can cause engine failure warrants a recall on behalf of the company and compensation.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated. The failure persisted with the message that the engine was overheating before the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic on two separate occasions where the spark plugs and other engine repairs were performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with engine failure, and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact repeated the process of adding coolant 6 more times. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after repeating the process the 6th time while driving 35 MPH, the engine started overheating. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the mechanic performed a pressure test but had not found an oil or coolant leak. The independent mechanic performed other tests but was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,323.
I have a 2014 Ford Escape that is leaking antifreeze from the reservoir. I see that 2013-2015 Ford Escapes had a recall 17V209000 but I'm being told it is not my vehicle. I would like to know why if my 2014 is having the same issue?
Vehicle overheated caused the cylinder head that crack. I am concerned it may catch fire as others before the recall. When I key in the VIN it shows no recall. However the NHTSA recall no 17V-209 or 17S09 shows all Escapes produced 2/12/13-9/2/14 have this issue and should have gotten a part to prevent this. With a production date of 5/14, shouldn't this vehicle be included?
The smokes very excessively at startup. If the vehicle sits it will do it again,

I purchased a 2014 Ford Escape last month. I thought Ford was a reputable company until I filled up my gas tank. Imagine my surprise when my car that I had only owned for two days, didn't start after getting gas. Thankfully a customer at the gas station told me he had the same problem and to rev the engine as I'm turning the ignition. Now every time I get gas, I have to rev the engine while trying to start the vehicle. Then after starting, I have to continue to give it gas so it won't die. It has died on me once while pulling out of the gas station because I hadn't given it enough gas to start with. After some research, I discovered that it is the canister purge valve that needs changed. Auto Zone confirmed this when they read the code for my check engine light. I couldn't find any recall info for that part despite the Ford Focus of the same year having one. My car warranty that I purchased doesn't cover it. This is a serious safety concern.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that on several occasions while in reverse (R), the rear-view camera failed to work as intended. The contact stated that the message "Camera not Available at this time” was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
Slow coolant leak that can’t be located
There is a engine coolant leak into the cylinder 2 due to a faulty casing from the manufacturer (Ford). It is a known issue across several models (Escape, Edge) and model years. A mechanic has confirmed the engine block needs to be replaced as the issue will continue to get worse and eventually the engine will die due to the faulty casing which allows coolant to seep into the cylinder. Ford is at fault for this and countless claims have been filed online and there should be a recall to cover the repairs.
My engine is leaking coolant and requiring me to have to constantly add it! Now coolant is leaking while I am driving it causing my car to overheat.
1# My fuel system is causing a problem My vehicle will not pass emissions it's been several tries of rejection. It is giving me recall syptoms and I know that this type of vehicle has had fuel issues recalled in the past. The sensors on the car are giving out codes that don't allow me to pass emissions and it's saying something about the( fuel system.) #2 I am having an issue with the electrical system in the radio it flares up and causes a deafening crackling noise and I have to pull over and turn the car off in order to shut the noise off sometimes the noise starts on its own when you're driving I have shut the car off and exit the vehicle only to hear the crackling noise coming from the electrical system while the car was off, at times I was afraid it would cause an electrical Fire! I feel I am having (recall issues )with this vehicle and because it is older the Ford motor company will not allow it to be inspected at one of their shops. I have contacted the better Business bureau where the Ford motor company is located in Michigan and they still do not want to help me. I cannot drive my car legally because it cannot pass emissions because of the fuel issue. Yes the engine light was on the dash back in November but the codes were cleared and it has not come back on but the vehicle still will not pass emissions. And I feel that Ford motor company does not want to assist me because there's no factory warranty anymore and the vehicle is older but that is not fair to the consumer it is still their vehicle and it is having recall problems even though the VIN# does not show it. I would like your assistance in anything you can help me with with this vehicle I feel so stuck at this point , still financing this suv. I uploaded a photo of the estimate repair bill over $2000 and the Emissions Reject paper from 11/24. Vehicles has failed since. Thank you! NHTSA Recall Number 16V643 After 3 attempts in 2 years, it is become evidential that Ford dealers are deliberately NOT willing to complete this recall for customer, probably because it takes too much time. [XXX]: rear left door latch failed. Call Robinson Brothers Ford, 11455 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, was told there is no parts, so I had to replace it by myself using part bought from Amazon. 1st attempt: 23-Feb-2023 to 27-Feb-2023 at Robinson Brothers Ford, 11455 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 Called weeks in advance in order to complete all recalls, and called few days earlier to confirm door latch, and was told they have spare parts so I left the car there. All recalls were completed except 16V643, and I was told they had no spare parts by shop representative. Register cell phone number with them for spare parts update and NEVER receive any update till now. 20-Oct-2024: front left door latch failed. 2nd attempt: on 21-Oct-2024 call AutoNation Ford Katy, 20777 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77450, the lady (Christina) told me they have no spare parts. 22-Oct-2024: once again, I replace the door latch by myself using spare parts bought from Amazon. 3rd attempt: on 23-Oct-2024: I drove by AutoNation Ford Katy, 20777 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77450, the exact the same shop I called 2 days ago, the service representative (Austin) check the inventory, found 1 set of spare parts, and promised me recall can be completed in 24 to 48 hours. When I pick up the car 50 hours later, the job is NOT even started for one door. As such, I officially file this claim to urge NHTSA to investigate what is the percentage completion for this recall for Ford? It takes me 2-3 hours to replace 1 door latch, that may be takes too time for dealer and therefore they chose to put the safety of customer at the lowest priority, and bet on customer running out of patience to replace by themselves, just like I have done, TWICE.
