Car suddenly would not shift and engine revved without moving in the middle of driving. This is an extreme hazard as my 2 year old son and I were pulling out into traffic. Had to turn the car off and back on and was able to get off the road. The transmission died without warning and the car is only at 55k miles.
According to the dealership the throttle body is putting the vehicle in Limp mode and the car dies out because of it. Ford has had a recall on vehicles with the same issue. However, the dealership wants yo charge 469.04 for the repair.
I had driven my vehicle normally until one day I put the car into Park and it continued to roll forward. The shifter was stuck in park and would not move, but my dash indicated the vehicle was in Nuetral. The cable between the shifter and the transmission was damaged. Prior to this the sun roof has stopped working and my backup camera started malfunctioning as well. This is after I had to get the fuel injector replaced and the turbo replaced before that.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera displayed a distorted or blank image. The message "Camera Unavailable" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V273000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 41,495.
"transmission fault - repair now" light came on. Engine went to high RPM but very little forward movement. Was able to limp short distance back to home. Transmission then would not shift into reverse. Had car towed to dealer on 8/24/2021 for repair. Dealer indicated total transmission failure had occurred and would need to be completely replaced. Cost quoted at $5500.00. Transmission is a sealed unit with no way to check fluids and is recommended for service at 150000 miles. This car is at 90000 miles, way before the 150000 service call. There was no forewarning or symptoms of complete failure prior to incident.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle started jerking. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact restarted the vehicle and was able to drive to her residence. The contact stated that upon parking the vehicle, the warning message "Transmission Fault' was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced; however, the dealer repaired the transmission with used parts as the parts needed were on backorder. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed however, no failure was found. The dealer also informed the contact that the parts were on backorder. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact later became aware that her VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) which she associated with the failure however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
We bought a 2016 Ford Escape on 25 June 2021, from Phil Long Ford in Motor City, Colorado Springs, CO. for approx. $21,000. Mileage was 62,783k. In Aug and Sept 2021, we brought the car back to Phil Long and told them there was a transmission issue that intermittently occurred on highway speeds. When passing there was an extremely rough shift that felt like a car ran into the back of us. This created a safety issue when driving. Phil Long reluctantly test drove the car and said they couldn’t do anything as they didn’t experience the extremely rough shift. This rough shift continued to happen about once every couple of weeks. We brought the car to Transmission Clinic in CO Springs and they confirmed that we needed a new transmission. On 02 June 2022, we paid $4,992 and got the transmission replaced. Transmission Clinic stated they are seeing many issues with Ford transmissions on Ford cars with low mileage. I contend that Phil Long Ford knew this info and should have been willing to help us in Aug/ Sept 2021. I am requesting that Phil Long Ford reimburse us in full or part for the cost of this recent transmission replacement. I believe Ford Motor Company should issue a recall for these poor transmissions.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced rough starting. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the engine coolant was very low. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that coolant was present inside engine cylinders #3 and #4. Additionally, the head gasket was blown. The engine gasket was replaced however, later the failure recurred. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 56,538.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, she noticed the back over prevention feature was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and confirmed that the back over prevention feature was inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several years ago. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving uphill at 35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently started jerking. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he released the accelerator pedal and the failure stopped. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving uphill and while passing other vehicles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of the repair because the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the VIN was not included in an unknown engine recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Experienced a vibration upon engine startup in April 2021 at about 60,000 miles, diagnostic from check engine light suggests that it was a cylinder misfire. I had it in to 4 different appointments before it was found that I have a bad head gasket, causing coolant to leak into the engine, damaging the engine and risking a catastrophe. Ford will not cover 100% of costs due to it being 4k out of warranty, so this is an out of pocket expense.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact noticed that there was a burn mark and a bubble in the front driver’s side fog light. The contact stated that heat from the bulb melted the cover. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 65-70 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle loss motive power and stalled. The contact was unable to shift the vehicle into drive or reverse. The contact stated that the vehicle was revving abnormally. The vehicle was restarted and driven off the highway. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
My airbag light kept coming on and off over the past month. Within the last week and half or so it has stayed on steadily. I seen a recall for other escapes with airbag defects but not mine and so I am not sure if there is about to be a recall on my vehicle.
Only had for a week, and vehicle has trouble at 40mph when shifting, slips or hesitates/misfires when driving at lower speeds, but drives ok past 55mph. Not sure if it is engine or transmission and was recently bought from dealership that said they checked it over, and now after a week I have to take it back in because I do not want it to be anything fuel related ever since it is Ecoboost engine and do not want it to catch fire while driving. Also the trunk will open with remote and only occasionally close with remote, does not work.
I received the "Steering Assist Fault Service Required" message as I was parking. Because the wheels became stiff I had to wait an hour to drive again. At the same time I received the 911 assist error. This was not the first time that it happened to me. Previously I took the car to the dealership and they did not fix it.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated while the vehicle was in park, the vehicle suddenly started rolling backwards rolled into a ditch. The vehicle was towed out the ditch. There were no injuries sustained. The contact researched online and became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 75,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the power steering failed which made the vehicle harder to steer. The contact stated that the power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14V284000 (Steering). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 50,096.
Engine block crack at 88,000 miles. Now deemed totaled and inoperable.
Cooling fan failure.. resulting in $1300 in repairs not needed and is now in shop for more money… to reapir
A few months ago, out of nowhere and with no warning my 2016 Ford Escape flashed a transmission failure and car immediately started having acceleration issues. I was on a 8 lane highway (4 lanes each direction), in the far left lane as I was approaching my left hand turn lane. I had to pull over on this 8 lane highway on the far left lane causing a major safety hazard, not only for myself, but for all the cars in the south bound direction. Once traffic had a break, I started my car back up and was able to make the next left hand turn (which was actually the turn lane I needed to take) to get off an extremely 8 lane highway. This left hand turn also could have caused a safety issue as I wasn't able to accelerate at a normal rate and had to coast across this highway going around 5mph. I immediately pulled over after that turn and got the car towed to the nearest Ford dealership. The tow truck driver wished I had pulled over a little further up since he would have to stop traffic to get the car on the tow bed, obviously something I couldn't do since I was unable to accelerate. When the car was turned back on no transmission warning was on. Ford did replace the battery and confirmed multiple internal transmission component failures with the diagnosis and the transmission would have to be replaced. I did get a second opinion and they also confirmed the failures that the Ford dealership told me. The car is only 5 years old, gave me no indication that there was anything wrong until it happened, there was zero warning, zero noise, zero reasoning given as how/why a car only 5 years old would have multiple internal failing transmission components! I was also told by the mechanic that this is not an uncommon occurrence for Fords to have early transmission failures and that my 2016 Ford Escape was the 6th Ford that month!!! In total, I have had to pay over $6,100 worth of work/service/equipment in a 2016 car I purchased on 2/25/19! Official explanation would be great!!!
Back up camera don’t work when backing up.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE warning came up on dash. I saw the RPMs go up to over 120. I had no previous problems with the car before this incident. CAR RAPIDLY LOST ACCELERATION while driving 60MPH on State Road 80 in Labelle FL. Since the car lost acceleration so fast the car behind me had to pass quickly as to not hit me. Other cars behind had to continually pass until I could move from the left lane to the right, and then to the shoulder to safely pull off the road. I had to wait there with the car for over an hour before AAA came to tow it. Mechanic at AAMCO Transmission Total Care in Bonita Springs, FL identified a burned drum. He showed me grooves in it that should not have been there, it should have been smooth. Computer scan gave codes P0219 Engine Overspeed Condition, P0729 Incorrect Gear Ratio 6th, P07AA Trans Friction Element E. I have the drum and other parts that had to be replaced. The repair took 6 weeks as the torque converter was on backorder from FORD. This repair was $4047.00
I WAS IN A DRIVE THRU AT MCDONALD'S AND I TURNED MY WHEEL TO PULL AROUND AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS ON AND OFF WHEN I DRIVE.
STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING. IT BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING. MADE LOUD GRINDING SOUND AND VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE THE WHEEL. AS THE VEHICLE BECAME UNDRIVABLE, IT HAD TO BE TOWED.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that when in reverse, the back-over prevention camera would display a distorted or black screen intermittently. While reversing from an angled parking space downward, due to the failure of the back-over prevention screen, the contact was unable to view the rear of the vehicle and ended up crashing into the passenger door of another vehicle. There were no injuries sustained or medical attention required. The passenger door of the impacted vehicle was damaged. The police were not contacted, and no police report was filed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE ABRUPTLY SWITCHED INTO REVERSE AT 75 MPH I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. I LET THE CAR COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD GOING ON REVERSE CAR SHIFTER WOULD GO INTO PARK BUT DASH SAID IT WAS IN REVERSE AND WANTED TO GO IN REVERSE, I CUT OFF THE IGNITION BUT COULD NOT START BACK DUE TO IT BEING IN REVERSE AND NOT ABLE TO GO INTO PARK , FORD SHOWS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL VEHICLE IN 2014 FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE CAR SHUCK AND THE TRANSMISSION MADE A WHINNING SOUND AND THE CAR ROLLED TO A STOP BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD;NT SHIFT.I BARELY MADE IT HOME..PARKED IT IN GARAGE AND NOW LOOKING FOR ANSWERS TO WHAT HAPPENED. THE TRANSMISSION COST FROM $1500.00 TO $4000.00
TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 70,000 MILES, WILL NOT GO IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, ALL OF A SUDDEN
DRIVING HOME FROM TOWN AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. NO WARNING OF ANY KIND. JUST DRIVING THROUGH TOWN AND IT QUIT MOVING AND WAS LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL.
HAD THE CAR IN TO GET THE FRONT BUMPER, PASSENGER BLINKER LIGHT AND THE BLACK PANEL REPLACED. UPON THE BODY SHOP GETTING THE PARTS PREPPED AND GETTING THE CAR STRIPPED DOWN THEY FOUND THE ISSUE WITH THE CROSS MEMBER CONNECTIONS BEING RUSTED THROUGH. HE CALLED ME TO COME LOOK THINGS OVER BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE WORK.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, the vehicle was difficult to start up. The vehicle was eventually restarted but after stopping at a traffic light the vehicle was there was an abnormal vibration coming from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the canister purge valve was stuck in the open position. The contact was informed that the valve lining needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
MY WIFE WAS RETURNING FROM THE STORE WHEN THE STEERING GOT STIFF. AS IF THE POWER-ASSISTED STEERING HAD FAILED. SHE MANAGED TO GET IT HOME SINCE SHE WAS ON OUR ROAD AND ONLY HAD TO TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY. I TOOK IT OUT AND THE STEERING WAS OK FOR ABOUT A MILE. THEN IT DID THE SAME FOR ME. FORD HAS HAD THIS ISSUE WITH SEVERAL OF THEIR VEHICLES FOR SOME TIME NOW. MANY HAVE BEEN RECALLED AND THIS ONE SHOULD BE. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS AND REVIEWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. IF THE STEERING FAILS AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME PEOPLE COULD BE KILLED.
WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, ESCAPE LOST ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR STAY ABOVE 1000 RPM. PULLED OFF ROAD, TURNED VEHICLE OFF, AND RESTARTED VEHICLE, TRIED TO DRIVE IT, HEARD A "CLUNK" NOISE AND SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. VEHICLE COULD MOVE AND CHANGE GEARS, BUT NOT ACCELERATE TO DRIVE, TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND HAD IT TOWED TO MECHANIC. MECHANIC DIAGNOSED IT AS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR A MORE THOROUGH DIAGNOSIS AND POSSIBLE REPAIR. VEHICLE HAD 104,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT.
WENT TO LEAVE MY HOUSE FOR WORK AND STARTED MY ESCAPE AND HAD NO STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS FROZEN STUCK. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM AS I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE TONS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT FROZEN STEERING WHEELS IN THE ESCAPES AND THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. ONLY THING I CAN DO IS START THE CAR AND LET IT WARM UP FOR AN HOUR, OR UNTIL THE STEERING BOX GETS TO 42 DEGREES AND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL UNFREEZE. THEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE STEERING WHEEL TRIES TO LOCK UP AND NOT TURN. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND CORRECTED BEFORE LIVES ARE LOST!!!!!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE LOCAL DEALER SOUTH BAY FORD LOCATED AT 5100 ROSECRANS AVENUEHAWTHORNE, CA 90250 WHEN THE CENTER CONSOLE PHONE CHARGER SUDDENLY CAUGHT ON FIRE DESTROYING THE VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
STARTING BACK IN THE SUMMER OF 2020 MY CAR WOULD NOT START, LIKE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE, ALWAYS STATIONARY. I HAD REPLACED THE BATTERY IN JUL OF 2019. I'VE TAKEN IT TO 3 MECHANICS TESTING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AT $300 AND ALSO TESTING THE BATTERY AT THE OTHER MECHANICS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THE FOB TALKS TO THE CAR EVEN WHEN IT'S NOT ON OR WHEN THE FOB IS NOT NEAR THE CAR. A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I PURCHASED A TRICKLE CHARGER WHICH I USED FOR A MONTH OR SO UNTIL I STARTED TO PUT THE FOB IN A FARADAY CAGE TO BLOCK THE SIGNAL FROM THE FOB TO THE CAR. THIS SEEMED TO HELP FOR A WHILE UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN I COULD NOT START MY CAR. AGAIN, ACTING LIKE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. I'VE ALSO PURCHASED A JUMP STARTER WHICH WAS WORKING WHEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START. THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE IN THE LAST WEEK AS I'VE HAD TO JUMP IT SEVERAL TIMES. I'M REALLY AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT TO DO NEXT OTHER THAN SELL THE CAR.
VEHICLE AT VARIOUS TIMES ACTS AS IF IT IS NOT GETTING FUEL, TENDS TO ALMOST STALL, SEEMS TO BE WHEN MAKING START FROM BEING STOPPED THEN MOVING FORWARD AND SOMETIMES WHEN MAKING LEFT TURN AT LIGHT, OCCASIONALLY ON RIGHT .
JANUARY 5, 2021 WE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE AFTER 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE CAR STARTED TO SHUDDER AND JERK AND HESITATE. AND THIS HAPPENED AT 50 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE COULD SMELL WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS EXHAUST IN THE CAR. THEY USED THE DIAGNOSTICS AND DETERMINED THE NUMBER TWO IGNITION COIL AS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SPARK PLUG WAS ALSO REPLACED. ALSO WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DIAGNOSED THE BATTERY DIED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. COST $484. ***WE WERE BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP ON FEBRUARY 8TH WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS TIME THEY INFORMED US THAT THE NUMBER 2 AND 3 CYLINDERS WERE MISFIRING AND THAT THERE WAS THERE WAS COOLANT INTRUSION IN THE ENGINE. I WAS INFORMED IT WOULD COST ABOUT $900 JUST TO TAKE THE ENGINE OUT AND DO FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS AND THAT THE ENGINE MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY ONLY OFFERED $375 TOWARD THE EXPENSES. AFTER SEEING ALL THE REMARKS ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH THE FORD ECO BOOST ENGINE, I HOPE THEY WILL DO A RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY.
I WAS DRIVING AND TURNED A CORNER ON A LOCAL ROAD AND MY REAR LEFT DOOR SWUNG OPEN. THERE HAD BEEN NO INDICATION IT WASN'T CLOSED. THEN, AFTER STOPPING, I TRIED TO CLOSE IT AND IT WOULDN'T LATCH--IT JUST BOUNCED BACK OPEN. THE FOLLOWING LINK IS VIDEO SOMEONE ELSE POSTED THAT SHOWS THE EXACT ISSUE I HAD: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=_EIOZPH8_XG IT'S A DIFFERENT MAKE AND MODEL FROM FORD, BUT THE ISSUE IS IDENTICAL TO WHAT I AM DEALING WITH NOW.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Prior to receiving the notification, the contact stated that while driving out of a parking lot, she reversed and parked the vehicle to look for something. The contact opened the driver's side front door to exit the vehicle when the vehicle inadvertently rolled backward and she fell face first onto the ground. The vehicle ran over the contact's knees and crashed into a fence by the wall, then came to a complete stop. The contact chased after the vehicle and parked it in a parking space. The contact received medical attention for a sprained right ankle, a hematoma on the left knee, and tissue damage to both knees. No police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
I OWN A 2016 FORD ESCAPE, WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 55 MILES AN HOUR, IT DOWNSHIFTED AND LOST POWER, I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MY DRIVEWAY, WHERE I PARKED IT. IT SHIFTED OUT OF PARK TO REVERSE, AND ROLLED BACKWARD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, THANK GOODNESS. I HAD TO TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. IT NEEDS TO HAVE A TOTAL TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. I HAVE READ OF MORE THAN 15 CASES ON THIS FORUM THAT ARE THE SAME AS MINE. I BELIEVE A RECALL NEEDS TO HAPPEN . I REACHED OUT TO FORD, THEY WILL NOT HELP ON REPLACEMENT COST OF 5000.00 REPAIR.
TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL REVERSE OR PARK. YET I AM ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY. CAR ALSO WILL NOT START BECAUSE OF THIS
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V695000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while in reverse, the back-over prevention camera failed to display the image behind the vehicle. The failure became more persistent over time and caused additional electrical failures. The contact was unable to connect devices to the vehicle, and the radio failed to operate as needed. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part for the recall repair was not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF FAILURE WAS SLIGHTLY OVER 86, 000 MILES. THAT SHOULD NOT BE A THING. WE HAVE ALSO HAD CONSTANT ISSUES WITH THE RADIO/DISPLAY INCLUDING TOTAL FAILURE AND REAR CAMERA NOT SHOWING.
I PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN TRIED TO PUT VEHICLE BACK IN GEAR. GEARSHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED AND VEHICLE WAS ACTUALLY IN NEUTRAL I HAD TO PUT EMERGENCY BRAKE ON TO PREVENT VEHICLE FROM ROLLING AND HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO HAVE BUSHING JOINING TRANSMISSION TO SHIFTER CABLE REPLACED. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN COVERED UNDER PREVIOUS RECALL FOR 2014 ESCAPES AND VERY OBVIOUSLY IS STILL A PROBLEM.
