TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR SPINDLES WERE RUSTED OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. WE DIDN'T HAVE THE VEHICLE THREE WEEKS AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO NOT STARTING. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND COULDN'T FIGURE IT. THEY CLEARED THE CODE, AFTER KEEPING IT FOR WEEK. 6 DAYS LATER IT WAS TOWED FOR THE ISSUES, THEY CURRENTLY STILL HAVE THE VEHICLE AND THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT SURE WHY IT'S HAPPENING. THEY CAN'T GET IT TO THROW THE CODES, IT WORKS FINE FOR THEM. BOTH TIME WE WENT OUT TO START THE CAR AFTER IT SITTING IN THE GARAGE OVER NIGHT.
ON THURSDAY, MAY 19, 2016 MY WIFE WAS RETURNING HOME WITH A CARLOAD OF KIDS. THEY WERE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET WHEN THE CAR SLOWWED RAPIDLY AND THE ENGINE DIED. SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND GET TO THE CURB AFTER TRAFFIC PASSED. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER THE CASE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER A MILE AWAY BY MISSED BADLY ASK THE WAY THERE. THE DEALER MECHANIC WAS ALSO STRANDED IN THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY AND IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD GONE BAD. FORTUNATELY IT WAS LATE WHEN OUR INCIDENT OCCURRED; DURING RUSH HOUR THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
WE HAVE A NEW 2016 FORD ESCAPE. AFTER ABOUT 1,000 MILES NOTICED A SHUDDERING OF THE TRANSMISSION WHEN SHIFTING. IT HAPPENS WHEN WE SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE, PARK TO REVERSE, OR REVERSE TO DRIVE. TOOK TO FORD SERVICE STATION AT ABOUT 3500 MILES AS IT BECAME A REAL CONCERN. TECH COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. CHECKED SOCIAL MEDIA TO SEE IF OTHERS WERE HAVING SAME PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE. WE WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE THE ESCAPE BACK TO FORD AS IT APPEARS TO BE A COMPLAINT OF MANY 2016 FORD ESCAPE DRIVERS WITH THESE VEHICLES. THE TRANSMISSION COULD FAIL AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. FORD NEEDS TO BE MADE ACCOUNTABLE AS THEY CONTINUE TO SELL THESE VEHICLES KNOWING THIS PROBLEM EXISTS.
WHEN TRAVELLING ABOVE 55 MPH THERE IS A WIND NOISE AT DRIVER DOOR THAT IS QUITE ANNOYING. DEALERS ANSWER IS THAT THEY TEST DROVE OTHER YEARS OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND HEARD THE SAME NOISE. UNSURE IF SOMETHING WILL START LEAKING IN THE NEAR FUTURE BUT FOR NOW, THE NOISE IS ANNOYING AND SHOULDN'T BE HEARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME DIM, DECREASING THE VISIBILITY IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HOLIDAY FORD LOCATED AT 1003 US-82, WHITESBORO, TX 76273, 1-800-293-6213, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN DUPLICATED THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND FILED A CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17. *LN CONSUMER STATED DUE TO POOR LIGHTING VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AT NIGHT.*JB
BROUGHT 2016 IN NOVEMBER 2015 AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND OFF ON STREETS OR HIGHWAY AND STAYED ON ALWAYS. TRUCK BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE 3/22/16 TIL 4/13/16 THAN 4/19/16 TIL DATE. REASONS REPLACED COMPUTER PCM, REPAIRED WIRE TWICE, REPLACE CHIPS, REPLACE WIRE AGAIN. MCCARTHY FORD AND REGIONAL MANAGER NOT GOOD WITH FOLLOW UPS OR GOOD FAITH AGREEMENT.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS WHEN BACKING UP. PROBLEM IS PERIODIC BUT IS BAD ENOUGH THAT THE CAR WOULD BE SLOW TO REACT TO EMERGENCIES SUCH AS BACKING FROM INTERSECTION WHEN IT OCCURS. PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN CAR IS WARMED UP AND MOST OFTEN WHEN GOING FROM FORWARD TO STOP TO BACKING. WHILE PARKING THIS PROBLEM CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL AND THEN LURCH BACKWARDS.
PERIODICALLY (COUPLE TIMES A WEEK), THE REAR CAMERA VIEW DOES NOT TURN OFF WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE. DURING THE DAY, THE FAULT MEANS TEMPERATURE, AUDIO AND NAVIGATION CONTROLS CAN'T BE USED AND THE CONSTANT REAR CAMERA VIEW IN THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD IS DISTRACTING WHEN THE CAR IS IN FORWARD MOTION. AT NIGHT, THE FAULT IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE GLARE OF HEADLIGHTS FROM FOLLOWING CARS DOMINATES THE LARGE CENTER OF THE INTERNAL CONTROLS. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BY THE DEALERSHIP (TO RESET, REBOOT, UPDATE SOFTWARE) HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA AIRBAGS ALLEGEDLY RECALLED!
I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 75 NEAR BRADENTON IN FL. 1:00 P.M. PERFECTLY CLEAR & DRY DAY. I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND, SENT MY FORD INTO THE GRASSY MEDIAN, CAR CAME TO A STOP AT A WIRE GUARD RAIL. I DIDN'T HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS, SO I HAVE NO RECALL. THIS HAPPENED NEAR A CONSTRUCTION AREA & ALL I REMEMBER IS TRAFFIC SLOWING, PERHAPS I WAS GOING 45-50 MPH, & IN PROCESS OF SLOWING DOWN. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO LEFT FRONT & SIDE NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY HEAD/FACE APPARENTLY HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. THEREFORE SEAT BELT RESTRAINTS DID NOT HOLD ME TIGHT TO THE SEAT. I WAS TAKEN TO E.R. - HAD A CONCUSSION, THEY DID LOTS OF TESTS, KEPT ME OVERNIGHT IN ICU, DISCHARGED THE NEXT DAY. ALSO, LATER I WAS TOLD BY AUTO COLLISION COMPANY & INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR THAT THE DRIVER SEAT WAS DAMAGED & HAD APPARENTLY COME LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP ON PAVED HIGHWAY. VEHICLE ALSO PULLS TO RIGHT DURING LOWER GEAR SHIFTS UNDER MODERATE ACCELERATION ON PAVED HIGHWAY.
VEHICLE WILL CHATTER AND VIBRATE WHEN GOING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE MODE TO GO FORWARD, EVEN WHEN TOTALLY STOPPED TO GO FORWARD. BANGS IN WHEN APPLYING GAS LIGHT OR HARD TRYING TO GET OUT OF WAY OF ON APPROACHING TRAFFIC IN STREET AND PARKING SPOTS. BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN JANUARY 2016 STARTED FROM DAY 1 WITH PROBLEM, HAVE NOT TOKEN TO FORD DEALER YET BUT I DID CALL THEM THEY KNOW OF PROBLEM, SAYS CANNOT FIX IT BECAUSE THEY SAY FORD HAS THEIR HANDS TIED UP AND WILL NOT AUTHORIZE TO HAVE IT FIXED THEY ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM

THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would jerk, lose power, and would not properly accelerate while pressing the accelerator pedal. Also, a warning message to "Turn the Vehicle Off" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was later taken to an independent service center that replaced the transmission but the failures continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the failures but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100.

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT AN INTERIM SOLUTION WAS TO DRIVE IN THE S GEAR AND, WITHIN A FEW MILES, CHANGE THE GEAR TO DRIVE TO PREVENT THE VIBRATION. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO REPAIR SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 0.
I paid to repair transmission. It kept dropping into gears really hard. It rolled backwards while in drive, if I took my foot off of brake. A year later, I'm going through it again The get engine checked light came on and it just stopped moving.
