Bought 4 new tires from Costco Dec 2023. June 2024 tire rotation showed 5/32 and 6/32. after only 7K miles. Brought tires back to Costco and was told I had to wait to make a warranty claim until they are 2/32! This is forcing me to literally put my family's lives at risk. Finally in June 2025, after ONLY 17,312 miles driven the tires were at 3/32. Filed a warranty claim. Costco did the best they could, but in the end, I now have to buy new tires. I did receive ~$600 for the warranty claim but now have to spend another $432 PLUS an alignment. Total cost for now is $900 + $400 +200 (alignment). Not sure how other people view this, but I think I was completely ripped off. $1500 for new tires? REALLY? Tech stated that Bridgestone knows/knew these tires are/were problematic yet did nothing. These tires NEED TO BE RECALLED, the company investigated for deliberately putting peoples' lives at risk.
TIRE SIZE: 235/50 R18 I was driving on the highway at approx 65 miles per hour in the far left lane when I heard a loud POP and then my car started driving weird. No warning lights came on in my vehicle prior to. I pulled over as soon as I safely could and when I stopped and got out. I realized it was my passenger rear tire that exploded. I called AAA and they put on my spare. The next day I was able to get my vehicle to an NTB. The associate there told me that my front passenger wheel also had side wall damage and that’s likely what caused my passenger tire to pop. He commented that my tread was really good on all my tires so it wasn’t the cause. Because it was two tires that needed changing I was recommended to change all four tires for safety reasons.
- The tire side walls blew out. There are several tears approximately 2-3 inches long. - It happened going about 55 and maintaining control of the car was difficult. My wife was broke down alone in an isolated area. - I took the tire to Twin State Ford in St Johnsbury VT where it was looked at by the service department. He commented that the sidewalls of the other tires were cracking. He confirmed there was a safety recall on the tires for the year make and model that matched my car but he said my VIN number was not included. Ford number 21S10 recall date 2021-03-09 - A few seconds before the tire blew out the low tire light came on. In the last six months fourteen of sixteen original equipment lug nuts have had to be replaced because they were "swollen". The dealer was able to do this work but I am concerned for the times when I was not having the vehicle serviced. What if I had had a flat tire and could not change the tire because of this issue? This would put me and the vehicle at risk to find a place of safety to replace the tire.

The contact attempted to inflate the tires; however, the tires were not able to hold air. The contact stated there was tread separating on all four tires. The contact stated that all four tires installed had been installed in August 2023. The vehicle was taken to a tire dealer who informed the contact that the tires were in good condition and recommended a wheel alignment. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 125,000. The tire failure mileage was 9,000.

As a result, the dealer had to break the lug nuts to complete the service and required the contact to cover the cost of the replacement lug nuts. The vehicle was repaired. Continental Conti Pro Contact 235/45/r19 95 rear tire inside side wall blew out on the highway.
I just had these tires replaced about 2 yrs ago and the front driver's side stated loosing air and upon inspection it is starting to shred. All 4 are doing this but not as back as the front one. This is a safety hazard if they were to come apart while driving it. The warning light came on stating low tire pressure. I only have 36744 miles on this vehicle.this happened on 7 /20/2022.. tire is in my possession but i will have to have it changed. Info is 235/45R19 95M MS DOT A3E6

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger's side rear tire had a separated tread belt. The dealer informed the contact that her VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V155000 (Tires). The passenger’s side rear tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front-end of the vehicle would shake and vibrate. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the front driver’s and passenger’s side tires had experienced tread separation. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,600.
Continental ContiproContact 235/45R19 95H on 2019 Ford Escape Titanium. Tires were factory original with approximately 35,000 miles. Approximately 4/32” tread remaining. DOT A3E6 47LB 0119 Was just turning onto the interstate on-ramp (from MD-543 SB onto I-95 NB) traveling about 15-20 mph and heard a large pop noise and the car begin to pull hard to the right. Pulled onto the shoulder. Upon checking, front passenger tire was completely flat. Replaced with spare and returned home. Further inspection of the tire revealed a 2” rupture in the sidewall. Tire pressures had been checked and verified (tires at cold pressure) approximately three hours prior to event. No TPMS warnings prior to event. Outdoor temperatures were around 35°F. No indication of other abnormal wear or damage.
I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND NOW I HAVE A SMALL HOLE IN THE UPPER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE HAS A LOT OF TREAD STILL LEFT ON THE TIRES ( 9/32). THE HOLE IS TO SMALL TO BE FROM ANY FOREIGN OBJECT ON THE ROAD. I NOW HAVE TO BUY NEW TIRE EVEN THOUGH I SEE YOU HAVE OPEN RECALLS ON OTHER FORD ESCAPE MODELS FROM THE SAME YEAR. THAT RECALL FOR THOSE MODELS ARE FOR SMALL HOLES IN THE TIRE DUE TO AN INCORRECT HEATING PROCESS AT THE MANUFACTURER.

A few months later, the contact noticed that all four tires were shredding and that small holes had developed around each tread. The contact then took the vehicle back to her mechanic where they contacted the tire manufacturer. SINCE BUYING MY ESCAPE BRAND NEW WITH 1 MILE ON IT, IT HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH ISSUES, ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING CAN BE GOING 30 MPH OR 70 MPH, WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 BAD SMELL FROM CATALYTIC CONVERTER SEEPS IN THROUGH VENTS. PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WALL BLEW WHILE TURNING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. LICENSE PLATE LIGHT OUT AND UNABLE TO REMOVE TO CHANGE. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD CAR SEVERAL TIMES CLAIMING NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. RADIO KEEPS SAYING "UPDATE" DEALERSHIP CLAIMS IT'S MY PHONE (MY PHONE HAS NO UPDATES DUE) BRAKES MAKE TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN REVERSE BREAKING. A LITTLE OVER 11,000 MILES AND TRANSMISSION KEEPS SLIPPING BUT DEALERSHIP CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG, ALSO CAR DOES NOT WANT TO START HALF THE TIME. USB FOR PHONE CORD IN FRONT DOES NOT WANT TO STAY CONNECTED, AND BACK PORT FOR CAR CHARGER OVERHEATED AND CAUSED MY DAUGHTER BURNS ON HER HAND. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT AND IT STRANDED HER ON SIDE OF ROAD AND WOULDN'T START, HAD TO SHUT OFF ,TAKE OUT KEY AND LET SIT TO RESTART BUT DEALERSHIP CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG. OVERALL THE DISAPPOINTMENT WITH THE 2019 ESCAPE IS HIGH. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE FURTHER TO INVESTIGATE THESE CLAIMS OF ENGINE SHUTTING OFF AND OTHER ISSUES.
