THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE STEERING COLUMN CAUSES THE TRUCK TO STALL WHEN DRIVER USED THE "TILT" OPTION. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS AND TOLD THE OWNER NOT TO NO LONGER USE THE "TILT" OPTION ON STEERING COLUMN. NLM
AFTER KEYLESS ENTRY LOCK WAS ACTIVATED, ALL DOORS EXCEPT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO LOCK. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE DOOR POWER MOTOR WENT OUT. CONSUMER HAD MOTOR REPLACED. PROVIDE MORE DETAILS. TS
DURING THE FIRST THREE MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP THIS VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THREE DIFFERENT FORD DELERSHIPS TO COORECT POOR BREAKING PERFORMANCE. DURING HARD BRAKING THE VEHICLE PULLS HARD TO THE LEFT. AT EACH DEALERSHIP THE ROTORS WERE TURNED AND SWAPPED FROM SIDE TO SIDE, THE PADS WERE REPLACED AND THE SUSPENSION WAS REALIGNED. DURING ONE OCCASION I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CROSSED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON A TWO LANE ROAD. I WAS TOLD BY GREENWAY FORD, DURING ONE OF THE VISITS IN EARLY 2001. THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY FORD AND THEIR ENGINEERS ARE STUDYING THE PROBLEM. THE FINAL RESULT OF EACH REPAIR HAS BEEN THE SAME THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO PULL HARD TO THE LEFT DURING HARD BRAKING. NOW AT 31500 MILES THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO SUDDER UNCONTROLLABLY WHILE BRAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THE ROTORS WERE TURNED. THE PADS HAD MINIMAL WEAR. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT FORD EXCURSIONS REQUIRE THE ROTORS TO BE TURNED YEARLY. THIS CONDITION IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE CORECTED. DT
THE EMERGENCY TIRE CABLE BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE TIRE TO FALL ONTO THE STREET. *JB
WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED IT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY, AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END VIBRATED. THIS RESULTED IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION. DEALERSHIP REPLACED OR RESURFACED BRAKE ROTORS EVERY THREE TO FOUR MONTHS. *AK *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 40 MPH AND HIT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *JB
FIRESTONE TIRE BLEW CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AT 70 MPH WHEN THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE, AND SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO WOBBLE FROM THE REAR. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT FRONT SEAT BELT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. SEAT BELT WILL NOT LOCK. AS A RESULT PASSENGER IS NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINED. *AK
VEHICLE'S RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD TREAD SEPARATION WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MH.
RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEWOUT. CAUSE OF THE BLOWOUT WAS NOT DETERMINED.

CONSUMER STATED THAT FIRESTONE TIRES SEPARATED AND FLAPPED BEFORE CONSUMER HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TIRE. SINCE THE TIRE WAS REPLACED BEFORE MARCH, 2003 FIRESTONE WILL NOT HONOR CONSUMER'S REQUEST FOR A REPLACEMENT. *AK
CONSUMER CHANGED THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO RECALL. CURRENTLY, CONSUMER WOULD LIKE REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER, WHO REFUSED TO REIMBURSE CONSUMER BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE DIFFRENT THAN THOSE THAT MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND SHUDDERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB

FIRESTONE REFUSED TO REIMBURSE CONSUMER FOR A TIRE PURCHASE WHICH OCCURRED BEFORE FIRESTONE STEELEX TIRE WAS RECALLED. ALSO, IT WAS NOT A BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE TIRE. *AK
