PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON. WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED AT THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE ORDERED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE ONE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. I BROUGHT IT BACK AND HAD IT FIXED. THE SAME PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AND ANOTHER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY MUST BE INSTALLED.*AK
VALVE STEM OF SPARE TIRE EXPLODED AND CAUSED TIRE TO GO FLAT, 2 YOUNG CHILDREN IN BACK OF VEHICLE WERE SCREAMING, FATHER OF THE CHILDREN WHIPPED HIS HEAD AROUND AND HAS HAD PAIN IN HIS NECK AND SHOULDERS EVER SINCE. *SLC
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN VEHICLE, IT CANNOT BE TURNED WHILE BRAKES ARE ON. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
THESE OEM TIRES ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, I HAVE HAD 2 SIDEWALLS BLOWOUTS WITH NO WARNING IN MY FIRST 6 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. THESE TIRES MUST BE RECALLED BEFORE THERE ARE MORE INJURIES AND/OR FATALITIES. I REPLACED THE TIRES AND HAVE THE OEM TIRES IN MY GARAGE TO RETURN TO FIRESTONE. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO HELP ME AS THEY HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. WHEN APPLYING BRAKES SHUDDER CAN BE FELT IN THE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM
WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 65 AND 75 MPH T VEHICLE WOULD START VIBRATING. DEALER COULD NOT FIND OUT WHERE VIBRATION WAS COMING FROM. THEY BELIEVED IT WAS MANUFACTURER'S FRAUD. *AK
TIRE SUDDENLY FAILED LOOSING TRED AND BLOWING OUT ON RETURN TRIP FROM DALLAS TX ON INERSTATE I-40 IN WEST MEMPHIS, ARK THE TIRES HAD LESS THAN 4500 MILES ON THEM . BOTH FORD AND DEALER SAID "NOT MY PROBLEM" AT BLOW OUT CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT AND IF THERE HAD BEEN HEAVY TRAFFIC A COLLISION WOULD HAVE OCCURED AS THE VEHICLE SWERVED FROM ONE LANE TO ANOTHER WHILE STOPPING IT. THE TIRE WAS MADE AT THE CANADA PLANT AND WAS THE STANDARD ISSUE 265X16R (DOT NUMBER: VNW8 IXY TIRESIZE: 16)
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE WILL PULL TO LEFT DURING LIGHT AND HARD BRAKING. DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF DEFECT, AND HAS AGREED TO REPLACE VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
WE WERE RUN OFF THE ROAD ON I-70 TRAVELING THROUGH MOAB, UTAH WHEN OUR EXCURSION SMASHED HEAD ON INTO THE SIDE OF A FROZEN SOLID ROCK HILL TRAVELING 80 MPH. WE WERE THEN LAUNCHED INTO THE AIR AND PROCEEDED TO FLIP END OVER END SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE COMING TO A HALT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RAVINE UPSIDE DOWN. THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE IS GONE ALONG WITH THE TOP AND BACK END. AT NO TIME DID THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY. WE CONTACTED FORD TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM AND AFTER FINISHING THEIR INVESTIGATION WE WERE TOLD THAT THE IMPACT TO THE FRONT END OF OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBSTANTIAL ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. WE HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES OF THIS VEHICLE AFTER THE CRASH AND IT IS CLEAR THAT THE IMPACT WAS HARD ENOUGH. MY HUSBAND SUFFERED A SEVERED TONGUE, CHEST AND NECK INJURIES AND VARIOUS ABRASIONS. I SUFFERED A CUT ABOVE MY LEFT EYE, CHEST INJURIES, AND ABRASIONS. OUR DAUGHTER ONLY SUFFERED FROM SEVERAL ABRASIONS. NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED, HOWEVER, MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH STILL SUFFER FROM ONGOING CHEST PAIN. FORD HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UNCOOPERATIVE WITH OUR EFFORTS IN PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION. WE RAN ACROSS SOME MINOR ROAD DEBRIS WHICH CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE SIDE WALLS OF BOTH FRONT TIRES. BOTH TIRES DISINFLATED VERY RAPIDLY MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. WE HAD SEVEN (7) CHILDREN AND TWO (2) ADULTS IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. WE FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN BUT CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY FOUR (4) NEW TIRES AT THIS TIME. GASOLINE FUELS SMELL INSIDE OF VEHICLE WAS CAUSED BY A CRACKED FUEL TANK. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TANK, BUT GASOLINE SMELLS ARE STILL INSIDE OF VEHICLE.*AK
BRAKE ROTORS HAVE BEEN EXAMINED BY TWO DEALERSHIPS FOR EXCESSIVE WEAR AND VIBRATIONS DURING APPLICATION OF BRAKES. ROTORS WERE TURNED WITH APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. BRAKES THEN FAILED WITH APPROXIMATELY 24,000 MILES ON VEHICLE, AND SECOND DEALERSHIP REPLACED BRAKES. CURRENTLY, WITH APPROXIMATLEY 30,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, BRAKES ARE FAILING TO STOP VEHICLE. MY SUV DRIVES VERY UNSTABLE AT ANY SPEED. IT SEEMS TO BOUNCE WHILE GOING DOWN A FLAT SMOOTH ROAD. BOB BELL FORD HAD IT FOR 1 WEEK AND FINALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM WHEN I WROTE A LETTER DEMANDING THAT THEY EITHER FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM OR GIVE ME A NEW TRUCK. 1/2 HOUR AFTER MY TELEPHONE CALL TO THEM WHERE IN THEY ADVISED ME THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BUT THAT THEY HAD THE ENTIRE TRUCK TORE APART, AND 1/2 HOUR AFTER RECEIVING MY LETTER MAKING A DEMAND, THEY FIGURED OUT THE SO-CALLED PROBLEMS. THE SWAY BAR WAS UPSIDE DOWN AND THEY SAID SOMETHING ABOUT BOLTS NOT BEING PUT IN AT THE ASSEMBLY LINE AND THAT IS WHY WE WERE GETTING A CLANKING NOISE. WE PICKED UP THE TRUCK, ONLY TO HAVE IT BEGIN AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. IF YOU GO OVER A SPEED BUMP SLOWLY OR GO UP A DIP, ETC. THE TRUCK BOUNCES YOU ALL OVER THE PLACE, AS IF IT IS GOING TO ROLL. WHEN YOU PUT THE BRAKES ON IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY, AND BOUNCES TO THE POINT IT IS AS THOUGH THE BRAKES ARE BEING BOUNCED FROM STOPPING THE TRUCK. I AM SCARED SOMETHING IS WRONG AND IT IS GOING TO COST MY FAMILY, ME OR SOMEONE ELSE THEIR LIFE. FORD HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG, THEY TELL US ALL SORTS OF OFF THE WALL REASONS. AT FIRST THEY EVEN SAID OH WE DON'T SEE A PROBLEM, BUT THEN AFTER SAYING THEY DID NOT SEE A PROBLEM THEY TORE MY TRUCK APART. EXPLAIN THAT, WHY WOULD YOU TEAR MY TRUCK APART IF YOU DON'T SEE A PROBLEM. IT TOOK THEM ONE WEEK AND IT STILL IS NOT FIXED. I PURCHASED A $38,000.00 SUV THAT VIBRATES ALL OVER THE PLACE, IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION AND BOUNCES WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, IN OTHER WORDS I AM DRIVING A ROLLER COASTER ON WHEELS THAT IS GOING TO COME OFF THE TRACK AND KILL PEOPLE. WHILE DRIVING THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT, FIRESTONE DEALER STATED THE TIRE BLEW OUT BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND REPLACED THE TIRE, THIS OCCURED BEFORE THE PROBLEM BECAME PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE (FIRESTONE STEELTEX AT 265-75R16). NLM
THE TIRE FAILURE WAS A BLOWOUT. THE WHOLE SIDEWALL SHREDDED. FIRESTONE SAID IT WAS A ROAD HAZARD EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. FORD WOULD NOT REPLACE BECAUSE THEY DON'T COVER TIRES. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS REPLACED TWICE BY THE DEALER. THE FIRST TIME, THE GAUGE READ 1/4 TANK LEFT AND IT WAS DRY. THE SECOND TIME THE GAUGE READ 1/4 TANK AND IT WAS MORE THAN 1/2 FULL. THE FRONT STABLIZER ASSEMBLY WAS POPPING SO HARD YOU COULD HEAR AND FEEL IT. THE DEALER REPLACED IT. IT SEEMS TO BE POPPING AGAIN BUT I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT BACK IN YET. I'M GETTING TIRED OF TAKING IT IN. THE REAR SIDE WINDOW MOTOR WAS DYING SO I HAD IT REPAIRED. DURING REPAIR, THEY NOTICED THE GLUED PIECE THAT THE MOTOR ATTACHED TO WAS COMING OFF AND HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WINDOW. WHEN CONSUMER'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF A 92 MERCURY AT ABOUT 45 MPH THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. FRONT END WAS MORE THAN 25%. DAMAGED.TRUCK WILL BE REPAIRED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
