THIS IS REPORTED BECAUSE OF THE COMMON NATURE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THE EXPENSE OF REPAIR. THIS IS A FAULTY DESIGN WHICH ROUTES AN ENGINE COOLANT HOSE SUCH THAT WHEN THE HOSE CONNECTION LEAKS, IT DRIPS ONTO THE #4 COIL PACK AND SHORTS IT OUT. THIS DEFECT HAS BEEN CARRIED OVER THROUGH AT LEAST THREE MODEL YEARS (97,98& 99). THE COST OF MY REPAIR WAS APPROX. $400. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR NOR IS IT A RANDOM COMPONENT FAILURE. I SUSPECT FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. AS A HIGH VOLUME PRODUCTION COMPANY, THEIR QUALITY DEPARTMENT HAS SURELY FLAGGED THIS DEFECT THROUGH SOME FORM OF FAILURE TREND ANALYSIS EFFORT.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TREES, AND ENDING ON OTHER SIDE. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, AND RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT FLAT. CONSUMER DID NOT KNOW WHAT COULD HAD CAUSED TIRE TO BE FLAT, AND LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE. NO DEMAGE TO VEHICLE EXTERIOR, JUST SCRATCHES. THERE WAS NO CURVES ON THE ROAD. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, RIGHT REAR FIRESTONE TIRE P255/70R16 EXPERIENCED BLOWOUT, CONSUMER NOTICED A 3 INCH TEAR ON THE INSIDE OF THE SIDEWALL, DOT W2CU. *SLC
CONSUMER NOTICED DROPS OF OIL ON GARAGE FLOOR. DEALER STATED THAT HEAD GASKET MAY BE LEAKING. *AK THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALER WAS AWARE OF HEAD GASKET PROBLEM AND WAITED UNTIL WARRANTY EXPIERD FOR FIXING IT. THEREFORE, THE DEALER SHOULD FIX THE HEAD GASKET AT NO CHARGE. *YH
AS I WAS TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, MY TIRE WENT FLAT. UPON INSPECTION OF THE TIRE IT WAS DISCOVERED THE TREAD IS PEALING OFF. THERE ARE TWO LONG PARALLEL CRACKS APPROX 2-3 INCHES APART IN THE CENTER OF THE TIRE. THE TREAD BETWEEN IS PEELING OFF AND THE BELT TREADS ARE PUSHING OUT. IF FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. WITH ALL THE LIVES THAT HAVE BEEN LOST FROM THESE TIRE DEFECTS I CANNOT REST UNTIL ALL MY FIRESTONE TIRES ARE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER BRAND. I WILL BE CONTACTING A FORD DEALER TOMORROW IN HOPES OF GETTING CLEARANCE TO GET THESE TIRES CHANGED RIGHT AWAY BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. THIS TIRE DID NOT JUST GO FLAT, IT DISITEGRATED. WE WERE RIDING DOWN AN INTERSTATE AND MY 15-MONTH-OLD WAS IN THE CAR. WE JUST GOT LUCKY THAT WE MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY. THE PROBLEM LOOKS JUST LIKE THE ONES SEEN IN THE 15 AND 16 INCH FIRESTONS TIRES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. WE SAVED THE DEFECTIVE TIRE AND WE HAVE PICTURES OF IT ON THE CAR BEFORE IT WAS CHANGED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A REPAIR SHOP SINCE IT WAS STUCK IN GEAR. MECHANIC COULD NOT SERVICE THE VEHICLE THAT DAY, SO THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT IN THE SHOP OVERNIGHT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE IT BURNED AS WELL AS THE SHOP.*AK
WHILE FILLING UP VEHICLE WITH GAS AND UPON REACHING 11 GALLONS, NOZZLE EXPLODED, INJURING CONSUMER. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED, AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE NOZZLE WAS PLASTIC AND NOT MEDAL, IT HAD NOTHING TO GRIND OUT ON. PLASTIC CREATEED ELECTRICITY, A SPARK OF ELECTRICITY LIKE IF SOMONE SHOCKED AN INDIVIDUAL, THAT SET OFF EXPLOSION. *AK
THIS IS THE SECOND FORD VEHICHLE PURCHASED. INITIAL VEHICLE TRADED BECAUSE OF SAFTEY ISSUE INVOLVING SEAT BELT MALFUNCTION. THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE NEEDED AN ENGINE REPLACED AND EXTENSIVE TRANSMISSION REPAIRS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS BASICALLY UNTOUCHABLE FOR COMMENTS. SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT DEALERSHIP ADMITTED TO KNOWING THE ENGINES IN THE 1997- 1999 EXPEDITIONS WERE HAVING PROBLEMS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. *AK
FAILURE OF THE #3/#4 COIL PACKS SEEM COMMONPLACE ON FORD EXPEDITIONS PRIMARILY DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE HEATER HOSE (SITS ABOVE THE COIL PACK): IF THE HOSE DRIPS, THE RESULT IS A COSTLY REPAIR. THIS PROBLEM IS REPORTED FREQUENTLY ON THE WWW.XPEDITION.NET MAILING LIST, AND FINALLY SHOWED UP AN MY VEHICLE. THERE ARE REPORTS ON THE MAILING LIST OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES (2, 3, 4..). *AK
RIGHT HEAD GASKET HAS CRACKED, CAUSING OIL TO LEAK ONTO STARTER MOTOR. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED.*AK CONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, 2 WEEKS LATER THE HEAD GASKET STARTED LEAKING AGAIN, CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT. *SLC
MIRRORS - THEY'VE BEEN REPLACED TWICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT MIRRORS DEVELOP BLACK STREAKS, WHICH MAKES HINDERS MY VIEWING ABILITY, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHTTIME. IT JUST TARNISHES ON ITS OWN. THE FIRST PAIR WERE REPLACED 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, IT IS COMMON IN MIRRORS WITH BUILT-IN LIGHT SIGNALS. AS FAR AS THE A/C IS CONCERNED; EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, IT GIVES OFF THIS BAD ODOR (MUSTY SMELL) AS SOON AS THE A/C IS TURNED ON. THE DEALER RE-CONDITIONS THE VENTILATION SYSTEM EACH TIME I TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. ACCORDING TO THEM, ALONG WITH TWO OTHER DEALERS, IT'S COMMON IN FORD VEHICLES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER NOTICED VEHICLE WAS NOT SHIFTING, ABLE TO GO THROUGH ALL GEARS, VEHICLE DID NOT SHIFT. NOT ABLE TO START IN DRIVE, AND UNABLE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO START. DEALER REPLACED LINKAGE CABLE. *AK THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT GO TO PARK POSITION. *YH
1999 FORD EXPEDITION EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE HEAD GASKETS. *MR THE CONSUMER FELT THAT THE ENGINE SHOULD BE REPLACED AT NO COST. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEAD GASKET LEAKED OIL BADLY. FORD REPLACED THE HEAD GASKET ONCE WHILE UNDER THE MANUFACTURER 36K MILE WARRANTY. THE HEAD GASKET WAS REPLACED AGAIN AT THE CONSUMERS EXPENSE BECAUSE THE LEAK RESUMED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THREE DIFFERENT FORD TECHNICIANS THAT THE OIL PASSAGE IN THE BLOCK OF THE ENGINE WAS SO CLOSE TO THE EDGE OF THE BLOCK THAT A HEAD GASKET WOULD HAVE A PROBLEM PREVENTING OIL FROM LEAKING OUT AND FORD DEVELOPED 2 OR 3 REVISED HEAD GASKETS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM SINCE 1999. AFTER TH SECOND REPAIR OFTHE HEAD GASKET, ONE OF THE HEADS LEAKED ANTI-FREEZE. OTHER PROBLEMS WERE: AN INOPERATIVE HORN, TRANSMISSION SHIFTING MADE A WHINING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT HEAT UP WHEN AT ZERO. *SC *JB
WHEEL OF VEHICLE DISCONNECTED DUE TO LUGS:NUTS: BOLTS SHEARING OFF. I WAS INFORMED (BY MY BROTHER WHO IS A FORD TECHNICIAN) THAT NIGHT THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON FORD EXPEDITION FOR THAT PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE ACCELERATING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE TIRES SLIPPED IN "SLUSH" (WET-SNOW). THEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE OR STOP ACCELERATION WHILE THE TIRES WERE SPINNING AND SLIDING IN THE "SLUSH". VEHICLE WAS STOPPED WHEN IT CRASHED INTO A MOVING VEHICLE. THERE ARE NO INJURIES TO REPORT. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EXAMINED VEHICLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.*AKTHE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOYED ON IMPACT. *NLM
DEALER SAID THAT COTTER PIN ON RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS MISSING, AN ACCIDENT DID OCCUR. *AK
IN REFERENCE TO REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEAL BLEW OUT, CAUSING FAILURE OF BOTH SETS OF REAR BRAKES/ DISCS AND PARKING DRUMS.*AK
AFTER CHANGING OIL COULD STILL SMELL OIL. THEN ,TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER WHERE THEY FOUND BLOWN OUT HEAD GASKET. THIS WAS SECOND TIME. FIRST WAS REPAIRED BY DEALER UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THIS TIME IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. *AK
I OWN A '99 FORD EXPEDITION-BOTH OF THE SIDE MIRRORS HAVE DETERIORATED TO THE POINT I CAN BARELY SEE OUT OF THEM DURING THE DAYTIME, AND ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF THEM AT NIGHT. I WENT BACK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT MIRRORS DETERIORATING AND TO REPLACE BOTH WILL BE 498.00 A PIECE PLUS TAXES. I HAVE EXTENDED COVERAGE, WHICH STATE THEY WON'T PAY FOR REPLACEMENT ,DUE TO MIRRORS BEING CONSIDERED GLASS. SERVICE DEPT AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THAT MIRRORS ARE NOT GLASS AND THAT IT'S ACTUALLY REFLEXOR PAPER OR SOMETHING. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU COULD LOOK INTO MATTER. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THE DETERIORATION OF SIDE MIRRORS ON FORD EXPEDITIONS TO BE A WELL DOCUMENTED SERVICE PROBLEM UNDER THE WEBSITE OF RECALLS. THIS IS MY 2ND TIME TRYING TO GET FORD TO WORK WITH ME ON THIS MATTER. *JB
THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR HAS DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THERE IS NO REFLECTIVE MATERIAL LEFT. I AM UNABLE TO USE THE MIRROR, CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. FORD DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE/REPAIR AS CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED. WILL COST $300 TO $400 TO HAVE FIXED.
ENGINE NOISE UPON COLD START. SOUNDS LIKE MARBLES CHURNING ABOUT INSIDE A COFFEE CAN. *AK
CABLE SEPARATED FROM BOLT AND SPARE TIRE FELL OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING. COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR PROBLEM IF IT OCCURED ON THE FREEWAY OR A MAJOR ROADWAY. LUCKY THAT THE PROBLEM OCCURED ON A SIDE STREET. *AK
CONSUMER TURNED ON INTERIOR DOME LIGHT AT NIGHT, WAS BLINDED BY IT AND LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. HE WAS ABLE TO RECOVER AND STAY IN HIS LANE. GLARE FROM LIGHT WENT TO SUN ROOF, AND THEN REFLECTED OFF DRIVER SIDE OF WINDSHIELD. IT DID NOT REFELECT OFF PASSENGER'S SIDE. *SLC

VEHICLE IS LEAKING OIL AT RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE, BOTTOM OF CYLINDER HEAD. IN AT DEALER'S SHOP FOR REPAIRS. ALSO, WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED THERE IS A LOUD TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTED, THEN IT STOPS. *AK
WE WERE TRAVELING ON I77 ON OUR WAY TO CHARLESTON,SOUTH CAROLINA. OUR ESTIMATED SPEED AT THE TIME OF TIRE FAILURE WAS 60MPH. THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT WAS 65MPH. WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE FRONT LEFT TIRE PRACTICALLY EXPLODED AND TORE APART. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AS WE MOVED INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, I FOUND A DISINTEGRATED TIRE, WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. I HAD MY ENTIRE FAMILY IN THE CAR WITH ME WHICH INCLUDED MY WIFE AND THREE YOUNG BOYS AGES 10,5, AND 1. TIRE BLOWOUT DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION AT 65MPH ON I-95 AT RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I WAS INFORMED BY BOTH FORD MOTOR CORP. AND FIRESTONE THAT THESE TIRES WERE SAFE. I AM THANKFUL THAT I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND NOT MY WIFE WITH MY THREE BOYS SHE WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY HIT THE BRAKES AND ROLL THE TRUCK. I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKLY I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE CAR INTO THE MEDIAN. THEY THE SITUATION MADE ME VERY UNEASY WITH THE RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC PASSING AT 65MPH JUST FEET FROM ME. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THREE BLOWN HEAD GASKETS WITHIN THE FIRST 40000 MILES, VEHICLE HESTITATES DURING ACCELERATION WHICH PRODUCES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AT INTERSECTIONS.*AK
PE00 020; CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND HEARD A THUMPING NOISE. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULDERS. HE NOTICED THAT PASSENGER'S RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD HAD SEPARATED FROM VEHICLE. FIRESTONE, WILDERNESS #AT, P2557016. FIRESTONE WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT TIRE,AND ATTENDANT FOR FIRESTONE STATED THAT NO ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN BECAUSE TIRES WERE NOT ON RECALL OR ON ADVISORY LIST. *AK
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER IN A 6 MONTH PERIOD FOR ENGINE TROUBLES DUE TO A DEFECTIVE ENGINE BLOCK. THE DEALER HAS STATED THAT FORD MOTOR CO. IS AWARE OF THIS DEFECT, HOWEVER THEY HAVE NOT NOTIFIED CONSUMERS THAT PURCHASED AFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS DEALER HAS MADE REPAIRS USING A "REBUILT, REMANUFACTURED" ENGINE BLOCK. THIS REPAIR IS NOT SATISFACTORY AS I PURCHASED ANEW VEHICLE AND EXPECT THE REPAIRS TO BE DONE WITH BRAND NEW NOT REFURBISHED PARTS. HAD I NOT TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE SELLING FORD DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM UNITL MY ENGINE FAILED AND POSSIBLY AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED. I BELIEVE THAT OTHER CONSUMERS MAY BE CHARGED FOR WORK THAT IS A RESULT OF THIS SAME TYPE OF ENGINE DEFECT THAT FORD IS AWARE OF AND HAS SENT TECHNICAL MEMO'S TO THE DEALERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER STATED THAT FORD MOTOR CO. WON'T ALLOW THE DEALERS TO NOTIFY CONSUMERS ABOUT THIS DEFECT AS IT COULD COST SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS FOR FORD WARRANTY WORK. THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT AND A SAFETY ISSUE AS ENGINE FAILURE CAN RESULT IF NOT REPAIRED. THE FIRST TIME MY VEHICLE WAS LEAKING OIL, AND THE SECOND TIME IT WAS LEAKING ENGINE COOLANT DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE BLOCK. I FEEL AS THOUGH FORD MOTOR CO. AND IT'S DEALERS ARE KEEPING THIS INFORMATION FROM CONSUMERS THAT HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THEIR VEHICLES MAY BE DEFECTIVE BEFORE THEY HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE.*AK

COMPLETE TREAD SEPARATION OCCURRED ON THIS TIRE ON THE MORNING OF 10/31/00 AT 5:30AM WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK. I WAS DRIVING ON THE SW FWY IN HOUSTON. THE ROAD WAY IS VERY SMOOTH AND LEVEL. IT WAS DRY AND TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT. THE TIRE DID NOT SOUND LIKE A TYPICAL BLOWOUT. I FELT IT RATHER THAN HEARD IT BUT THE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY COMPROMISED. THE VEHICLE SWERVED BUT I REGAINED CONTROL, SLOWED AS QUICLKY AS POSSIBLE AND PULLED OVER. THE TREAD IS IN ONE SEPARATE PIECE AND THE CARCAS IS TORN, FRAYED, ETC.*AK (DOT NUMBER: 02-6555 TIRESIZE: P255/70R16)
VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE ACCELERATING, RESULTING IN A COLLISION. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE, AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM.*AK THE VEHICLE HAD 5 REPAIRS DONE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *YH
REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLOW OUT, RESULTING IN DAMAGED WHEEL. ONE PERSON IN THE VEHICLE NO ONE HURT. VEHICLE DID NOT ROLL OVER. DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE TIME WAS 11:20 A.M. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 81 DEGREES. THE TIRES HAD BEEN CHECKED TWO DAYS EARLIER FOR INFLATION TO 35 PSI. REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLOW OUT, RESULTING IN DAMAGED WHEEL. ONE PERSON IN THE VEHICLE, NO ONE HURT. VEHICLE DID NOT ROLL OVER. DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THE TIME WAS 11:20 AM. THE TEMPERATURE 81 DEGREES. THE TIRES HAD BEEN CHECKED TWO DAYS EARLIER FOR INFLATION TO 35PSI. AFTER NOTICING AN OIL LEAK, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS WARPED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. MY EXPEDITION HAS ONLY 12,000 MILES ON IT. I BELIEVE FORD HAS ISSUED TECHNICAL BULLETINS REGARDING CYLINDER HEAD LEAKS AND REPLACING THE HEAD GASKET ON THE FORD EXPEDITION. THERE MAY BE MORE EXPEDITIONS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS MINE.
ABS SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED RESULTING IN ACCIDENT; ON DRY PAVEMENT, ABS TOOK BRAKING CONTROL BUT DID NOT APPLY BRAKING ENERGY TO THE BRAKES (ONLY SLIGHT BRAKING) DESPITE STANDING ON BRAKE PEDAL; ABS LIGHT WAS NOT ON AT THE TIME; AFTER ACCIDENT SAME PROBLEM (ABS IN CONTROL, NO LIGHT, NO BRAKING) BUT AFTER REPEATED HARD HITS TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON DISENGAGING THE ABS SYSTEM, ALLOWING NORMAL BRAKING; PROBLEM REPEATED ONCE LATER IN DAY; NEXT DAY WHEN TAKING VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER PROBLEM WOULD NOT REPEAT; HAD THREE COMPUTER ABS CODES WHICH THEY COULD NOT RESOLVE WITH FORD HOTLINE; THEY CLEARED CODES; PROBLEM WOULD NOT REPEAT; CHARGED ME FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS (NOT UNDER WARRANTY) AND TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT REPEATS; HAVE SENT YOU A COPY OF MY LETTER TO FORD.
THE ABS TOOK CONTROL DURING NORMAL BRAKING BUT WITH LITTLE TO NO BRAKING POWER CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HIT A CAR THAT WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. NLM

AFTER BEING PREVIOUSLY ASSURED THROUGH PHONE CALLS TO FORD AND THROUGH A LETTER FROM FORD AND FIRESTONE THAT 17 INCH WILDERNESS AT'S WERE NOT RECALLED WE FELT VERY CONFIDENT. HOWEVER, AFTER THE BLOWOUT ON OCTOBER 04,2000 I AM CONVINCED THE 17 INCH TIRES NEED TO BE RECALLED ALSO. THE TIRE HAS OBVIOUS TREAD SEPARATION DAMAGE & FORTURNATELY, WE WERE NOT TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I AM CONVINCED IF WE WERE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED THE SUV WOULD HAVE ROLLED OR FLIPPED, CERTAINLY INJURING OR POSSIBLITY KILLING MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY. THE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRES CERTAINLY HAVE A PROBLEM & THAT PROBLEMS IS NOT LIMITED TO THE 15 INCH TIRES. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL FOR ALL 16 & 17 INCH TIRES BEFORE LIVES ARE TAKEN!! I WAS GETTING READY TO BACK UP AND THROTTLE ACCELERATED TO FULL THROTTLE. TRUCK PROCEEDED ABOUT 70 FEET BEFORE CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD BOTH FEET ON BRAKE LEAVING SKID MARKS FROM FRONT TIRES ON PAVEMENT.
UPON STARTUP OF MOTOR, WILL NOT IDLE OR WILL DIE COMPLETELY WHEN STOPPED AT INTERSECTION OR WHEN RELEASING ACCELERATOR WHEN MAKING A TURN, CAUSING MOTOR TO DIE AND LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THROTTLE BODY LINKAGE (BUTTERFLY) STICKING AND IT HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OF FRIENDS TRUCKS AS WELL. FIX IS NEW THROTTLE BODY PART @ $300., NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I FEEL THIS IS DANGEROUS AND WIDESPREAD AND SHOULD BE RETRO DONE UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BY MANUFACTURER.*AK
