TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD AND 90% OF THE VEHICLE WAS BURNED. THE WINDSHIELD EXPLODED AND THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OBSERVATION REPORT STATED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNDER THE HOOD AND IT WAS ELECTRICAL. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR HIM. THE FORD DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED HIM THAT SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT HIM AFTER SEPTEMBER 4, 2010. THE FORD MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 196,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH DURING RAINY WEATHER, ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON. THE FAILURE USUALLY OCCURRED IN RAINY AND SNOWY WEATHER; THE DOORS WOULD LOCK AND THE PASSENGER WAS UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN STRUCK BY LIGHTENING BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WEATHER LEAKED INTO THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED. A FRIEND CHANGED THE SOLENOID AND THE VEHICLE STARTED WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE LUNGE AND STALL. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND VARIOUS SENSORS WERE REPLACED BUT, TO NO AVAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000...UPDATED 10-21-13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING. STEERING COLUMN BECAME HARD TO TURN. UPDATED 10/25/2013 *JS
I WAS DOING A LEFT TURN ON A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN MY FORD EXPEDITION 2000 08/16/2010 AND THE TRUCK JUST DIED AND THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST CRASH BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK ANY MORE . AND THE REASON I CONCERN IS BECAUSE THIS HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE TRUCK HAVE A 1/4 TANK OF FUEL AND I TAKE THE TRUCK FOR SERVICE TO THE DEALER AND RUN A DIAGNOSIS AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANY THING ...... BUT I THINK IS A DISSING ISSUE IN THE POSITION OF THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TANK ANY WAYS I AM NOT A MECHANIC; I JUST CONCERN ABOUT SAFETY ABOUT THE PERSON BEHIND ME WAS HURT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM THE BACK OF MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. I LOOKED IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR TO SEE A TIRES ROLLING AND BEING TOSSED DOWN THE TURNPIKE WITH CARS TRYING TO DODGE THE TIRE. I THOUGHT I HAD JUST ROLLED OVER THE TIRE BUT WHEN I GOT HOME I LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND NOTICED THE TIRE WAS GONE AND THE WINCH CABLE WAS BROKEN. LUCKILY NOBODY SEEMED TO GET HIT BY THE TIRE BUT I CAN'T BE SURE. *TR
2000 FORD EXPEDITION WITH A 4.6L I HAVE HAD 3 FACTORY INSTALL SPARK PLUGS BLOW OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD. *TR
I OWN A 2000 MY FORD EXPEDITION XLT. ON JULY 4, 2010, I WAS LEAVING MY HOUSE AND DRIVING DOWN THE STREET TOWARDS AN INTERSECTION WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. UPON PLACEMENT OF MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, VIRTUALLY ALL BRAKING POWER WAS LOST FORCING ME TO QUICKLY APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO AVOID CROSSING AN INTERSECTION. I THEN TURNED THE VEHICLE AROUND AND DROVE BACK TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED IT UNTIL IT COULD BE TOWED. ON JULY 6, 2010, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. LATER THAT SAME DAY THE FORD MECHANIC CONTACTED ME AND SAID THAT THE MAIN SUPPLY LINE FOR THE REAR BRAKES HAD RUSTED CAUSING A LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID. ONCE THE FAILURE ORIGINALLY OCCURRED, IT DID NOT CORRECT ITSELF UNTIL FORD REPLACED THE BRAKE SYSTEM SUPPLY LINE. THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS CATASTROPHIC IN THAT IT CAUSED A NEAR LOSS OF ALL BRAKING CAPACITY. HAD A VEHICLE BEEN IN THE INTERSECTION OR HAD I FAILED TO RAPIDLY ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, THE INCIDENT WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH PROPERTY DAMAGE AND OR THE LOSS OF LIFE COULD HAVE OCCURRED. SPECIFICALLY, I WAS VERY FORTUNATE NOT TO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP DID SHOW ME THE REMOVED SECTION OF BRAKE SUPPLY LINE. IT WAS HEAVILY RUSTED IN TWO SECTIONS, ALTHOUGH I AM UNCERTAIN WHICH SECTION WAS ACTUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BRAKE FAILURE. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE FORD DEALER STILL HAS POSSESSION OF THE FAILED BRAKE FLUID SUPPLY LINE. *TR
2000 FORD EXPEDITION 4X4. REAR LOWER TRAILING ARMS OR ( CONTROL ARMS ). PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE POWDER COATING FLAKES OFF EXPOSING THE BARE METAL. CONTROL ARMS RUST THROUGH AND BREAK IN HALF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL CAN HAPPEN. FORD STATES THEY NEVER HAD ANY COMPLAINTS. *TR
I DROVE THE EXPEDITION YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND RETURNED HOME APPROXIMATELY 5:45 PM CST. APPROXIMATELY 11:15 P.M. HE HEARD POPPING NOISES AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO EARLY FIREWORKS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. AT 11:30 P.M. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT KNOCKED ON OUR FRONT DOOR TO ASK IF OUR VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE IN THE BACK. OUR 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS PUTTING THE FIRE OUT. IT WAS BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION SEVERAL TIMES SINCE LAST NIGHT THAT THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN UNDER A RECALL FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM AND SIMILAR FIRES. *TR
IN THE DAYS PRIOR I WOULD SOMETIMES HAVE TO MANIPULATE THE GEAR SHIFT (AUTOMATIC) IN ORDER TO START THE CAR. THE CAR WAS IN PARK ON THE FLAT PART OF MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I STEPPED INTO THE GARAGE FOR LESS THAN 10 SECONDS. THE CAR ROLLED AWAY DOING SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND TAKING OUT THE NEIGHBOR'S TREE AND LANDSCAPING. THE GENTLEMAN THAT HELPED ME CAN ATTEST THAT WHEN HE WENT TO BACK THE CAR UP - THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND HE HAD TO PHYSICALLY PUT IT IN REVERSE TO MOVE IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE POLICE NOTIFYING HER THAT HER VEHICLE HAD BURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND SHUT OFF WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT APPEARED ON THE SCENE AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 179,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS AWAKENED BY A LOUD EXPLOSION. SHE WENT OUTSIDE AND OBSERVED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR AT LEAST EIGHT HOURS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A FIRE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. WHENEVER IT RAINED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD CONTINUE TO ILLUMINATE OFF AND ON. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN THE KEY WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE IGNITION ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WOULD CONTINUE TO FUNCTION AND COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF UNLESS THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 180,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON MAY 19, 2007 FOR A RECALL REMEDY REPAIR PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 05V388000, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. THE VEHICLE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED THE CONSEQUENCE MENTIONED IN THE RECALL WHILE IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND SUDDENLY, AN ALARM SOUNDED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE THEN THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO MASSIVE FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, POLICE DEPARTMENT AND AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. THE CONTACT IS WAITING ON A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
SERIOUS ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS CONSISTING OF FAN BLOWING WITHOUT VEHICLE BEING STARTED, RADIO GOING ON AND OFF, 4X4 LIGHT BLINKING, CLICKING NOISES, STARTER TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE WHILE ALREADY STARTED, POPPING NOISES, WINDOWS WORKING AND NOT WORKING. I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION XLT AND WENT TO UNLOCK IT THIS MORNING WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTE, THE RADIO CAME ON ALONG WITH THE ABS, AIRBAG, SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHTS CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OFF. THE RADIO IS STILL ON RIGHT NOW. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF ANYONE HAD THE SAME EPISODE AND MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, THERE ARE MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE 98' - 02' MODEL EXPEDITIONS. WATER LEAKING INTO FUSE BOX AFTER HEAVY RAIN STORM. SIZZLING NOISE AND SMOKE EMINATING FROM FUSE BOX. *TR
WHEN THE KEY IS TAKEN OUT OF MY IGNITION, THE BLOWER MOTOR TO THE HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING GOES TO FULL BLAST. I THEN HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN ORDER NOT TO DRAIN THE BATTERY. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IT IS RAINING OUT. APPARENTLY THE WINDSHIELD LEAKS TO THE GEM BOX AND SHORTS IT OUT. *TR
ON 1/1/2010 - MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION BURST INTO FLAMES. THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING WELL WITH NO MAJOR PROBLEMS. I HAD JUST PARKED THE CAR AND MY SON AND I WENT INSIDE TO A STORE. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER THE STORE MANAGER REMARKED THAT THERE WAS A CAR ON FIRE. IT WAS MY CAR. THE SMOKE AND FLAMES WERE COMING OUT OF THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER SIDE CLOSER TO THE WINDSHIELD. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. WEATHER WAS NOT AN ISSUE AS IT WAS VERY COLD OUTSIDE, AROUND 20 DEGREES. I KNOW THAT IN THE PAST THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH FORD SUVS BURSTING INTO FLAMES DUE TO FAULTY SWITCH-RELATED FIRES. I TOOK MY CAR IN WHEN I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND GOT THE FIX. SO I AM REALLY PERPLEXED AND ANGRY THAT THIS HAPPENED AND EVEN MORE SO SINCE MY 9 YEAR OLD WAS WITH ME! MY FAMILY AND I COULD HAVE BEEN REALLY HURT! THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE HAVE RULED OUT ANY FOULPLAY BASED ON THEIR REPORT. *TR
SUDDEN ELECTRICAL ISSUES RESULTING AFTER RAIN. RADIO PLAYED WITHOUT KEY OR IGNITION TURNED ON IN MORNING. VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO CRANK WITH KEY OUT OF IGNITION WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL BATTERY TERMINAL REMOVED. RADIO WOULD SHUT DOWN WHEN ENGAGED IN DRIVE, RETURNED WHEN GEAR SHIFT MOVED TO PARK OR REVERSE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN OVER WHEN IGNITION INITIALLY TURNED. *TR
I OWN A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. I AM HAVE CONTINUING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. INITIALLY, ABOUT 1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE, WHENEVER IT RAINED MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WOULD GO HAYWIRE. THE 4X4 LIGHTS WOULD BLINK ON AND SEVERAL OTHER WARNINGS LIGHTS INCLUDING A CLICKING NOISE. I WOULD TAKE MY KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE BLOWER MOTOR WOULD CONTINUE TO BLOW WITHOUT THE KEY IN. WHEN DRIVING THE RADIO, ODOMETER AND CLOCK WOULD GO ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. I WAS TOLD THE WINDSHIELD WAS LEAKING INTO THE GEM MODULE AND FUSE BOX AND I HAD TO HAVE A NEW WINDSHIELD PUT IN AS WELL AS THE GEM MODULE REPLACED. I DID THIS AND THE TRUCK WAS OKAY FOR A FEW MONTHS. MORE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS INVOLVING THE ABS LIGHT ON THE DASH, THE 4X4 LIGHT, THE BATTERY LIGHT AS WELL AS THE BATTERY CONTROL SHOWING LOW. THE BLOWER CONTINUES TO TURN ON WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED AS WELL AS THE RUNNING BOARD LIGHTS REMAINING ON. I HAVE HAD TO DISCONNECT AND REPLACE THE BATTERY SEVERAL TIMES. I AM CONCERNED THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FIRST AND FOREMOST BECAUSE OF THE ABS LIGHT AS WELL AS FIRE HAZARD. FORD HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THESE CONTINUAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. *TR
WHILE AT WORK I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL TELLING ME OUR 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WAS ON FIRE AND ALMOST IGNITING OUR HOME. NO ONE HAD DRIVEN THE TRUCK FOR 3 DAYS BUT APPARENTLY ACCORDING TO THE DEPUTY FIRE MARSHAL THE FIRE WAS STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, MOST LIKELY ATTRIBUTABLE TO A FAULTY SWITCH ASSOCIATED WITH CRUISE CONTROL BRAKING. *TR
2000 FORD EXPEDITION 5.4L MY SPARK PLUG EJECTED FROM THE MOTOR CAUSING THE COIL TO EJECT AS WELL. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO HAVE THE HEAD RETHREADED THEY WOULD ONLY DUE A TEMPORARY REPAIR. *TR
PARKED MY TRUCK AROUND 8 PM ON THE 27TH WOKE UP AROUND 5 AM ON THE 28TH TO A LARGE BANG LOOKED OUTSIDE TO SEE MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION FULLY IN VOLVED IN FLAMES. TIRES EXPLODED SENDING MOLTEN RUBBER ALL OVER THE SIDE OF MY GARAGE DOOR THREW A SMALL CRACK UNDERNEATH THE GARAGE INTO MY BRAND NEW HARD WOOD FLOORS YET TO BE INSTALLED BURNING AND RUINING ALL OF THEM ALSO MELTED MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT INSIDE THE CAR, HER BASKETBALL HOOP BY THE CAR A TREE NEXT TO IT AND ALL MY BELONGINGS INSIDE THE CAR FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE WERE CALLED. WE HAD TO EVACUATE OUR HOUSE BECAUSE OF SMOKE AND POSSIBILITY THAT FIRE WAS IN THE ATTIC MY CHILDREN WERE TRAUMATIZED BY THE INCIDENT. *TR
RECALL ON THE CRUISE CONTROL ON WHAT WAS MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. *TR
OUR 2000 FORD EXPEDITION EXPLODED IN OUR GARAGE AT APPROXIMATELY 8:45 A.M. WE TRIED TO PUSH THE CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE AND COULDN'T IT CAUGHT OUR TWO-CAR GARAGE AND OUR CHILDREN'S ROOM AND BATHROOM. SMOKE DAMAGE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. *TR
2000 EDDIE BAUER EXPEDITION, THE PAINT ON THE HOOD HAS STARTED TO START CHIPPING AND STARTED PEELING OFF, THREE WEEKS AGO. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE PAINT ON THE HOOD AND THE PAINT ON THE REMAINDER OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN GREAT SHAPE, UNTIL I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT WAS COMING OFF. THE SOLUTION TO THIS SITUATION IS THAT IT IS GOING TO HAVE TO GO THE SHOP FOR THEM TO REPAINT ON THE HOOD. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AS OF YET. I HAVE SEEN WHERE FORD IS AWARE OF THIS MISTAKE IN DEFECTIVE PAINT AND THEY ARE NOT FIXING IT FOR CONSUMERS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH THE SPARK PLUG FAILED. AS A CONSEQUENCE HER RISK FOR VEHICLE CRASH AND SERIOUS INJURY WAS INCREASED. SHE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER, AND HAD THE SPARK PLUG REPLACED AT AN EXPENSE OF $475.00. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 113,000. UPDATED 10/23/09 *BF UPDATED 10/26/09
WE HAVE A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION THAT BLEW OUT A SPARK PLUG ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND THIS WEEKEND IT BLEW OUT ANOTHER SPARK PLUG. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING TO TOWN AND MY TRUCK STARTED TO RUN ROUGH AND SOUNDED AWFUL. THIS TIME MY SON HAPPENED TO BE DRIVING IT AND IT DID THE SAME THING. WE HAD TO GET IT TOWED BACK HOME PLUS HAVE SOMEONE TO FIX IT. THE GARAGE THAT FIXED IT USED A HELICOIL REPAIR KIT. I GUESS THAT THEY WILL DO THE SAME THING THIS TIME. I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. AFTER A REALLY BAD RAINSTORM TODAY MY SUV STARTED ACTING POSSESSED. IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE AND NOW ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE HEADLIGHTS TURN THEMSELVES OFF AND ON, WHEN THEY CAR IS OFF THE KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION. THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS ACTING CRAZY, THE SUV DOES THINGS ON ITS ON EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND THE KEY IS NOT IN THE IGNITION.I HAD BEEN LEFT STRANDED WITH MY VEHICLE IN THE WALMART PARKING LOT WITH THE LIGHT, GAUGES, AND AIR TURNING ITSELF ON AND OFF. I OWN A 2000 FOR EXPEDITION AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT EXPENSIVE PROBLEMS. FIRST THE CAPS ON THE SPARK PLUGS GO BAD EVERYTIME IT GETS WASHED OR GOES THROUGH PUDDLES ON THE ROAD. THEN WHEN IT RAINS WATER SEEPS INTO SOME CONTROL BOX AND CAUSES THE RADIO AND AIR TO RUN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND THE KEY REMOVED, IT WILL EVEN GO AS FAR AS ENGAGING THE ANTI THEFT SO IT WON'T START. I HAVE EVEN LOST CONTROL OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WHILE DRIVING, THE RAIN DRIPS ON MY FEET AND SOAKS THE FLOOR MAT EVEN IF IT JUST SITTING. THE LATEST ISSUE IS WITH AN EJECTED SPARK PLUG WHICH FORTUNATELY DID NOT START A FIRE JUST LEAVING ME STRANDED TWICE IN ONE WEEK. I AM TOLD THERE IS NO GOOD FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM AND I AM GETTING ESTIMATES AS HIGH AS $3500. MOST SAY THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS ONE DESIGN FLAW AFTER ANOTHER AND THAT FORD ONLY GIVES ONE EXCUSE AFTER ANOTHER. SO MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS I CAN'T HELP BUT TO THINK THE FAULT LIES WITH FORD. SO MANY OTHER THINGS HAVE GONE WRONG WITH IT TO FIX THEM ALL WOULD BE REPLACING EVERY PART, WIRE, AND DEVICE ON IT. I THINK IT'S JUST A LEMON DESIGNED TO CREATE REVENUE. I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WITH THE TRITON V-8, 5.4 LITER ENGINE THAT HAD A SPARK PLUG POP OUT OF THE HEAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING, DESTROYING THE FUEL INJECTOR. ACCORDING TO MY FORD DEALER, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE AND CAN'T REALLY SEE HOW YOU CAN USE THE WORD COMMON WITH A SPARK PLUG EJECTING ITSELF, BUT OH WELL. ANYWAY, FORD DOES NOT HAVE ANY KIND OF WARRANTY ON THIS. HOW CAN THIS BE?? A SPARK PLUG EJECTING CAN LEAD TO THE VERY REAL POSSIBILITY OF FUEL COMING OUT OF THE CYLINDER AND IGNITING. THIS SEEMS PRETTY DANGEROUS TO ME. THE DEALER WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE SPARK PLUG PORT RE-THREADED AND A NEW INJECTOR PUT IN PLACE FOR A TOTAL OF 590 DOLLARS. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD. *TR
ALL FOUR WINDOWS WOULD NOT GO DOWN ON VEHICLE. WENT TO CAR LOT TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. MECHANIC FIXED THE PROBLEM. WENT BACK TO WORK. I GOT OFF AT 5:00PM. WENT HOME AND PARKED THE VEHICLE. 2 HOURS LATER A NEIGHBOR TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE AFTER BEING PARKED FOR HOURS. *TR

WHEN THE VIN WAS CHECKED ON FORD WEBSITE IT TURNED OUT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WHICH WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF. NOT ONLY WERE WE NOT NOTIFIED BUT NO WERE ON THEIR RECALL DID IT SAY OF THE DAMAGE IT COULD CAUSE. I FOUND OUT BY INTERNET RESEARCH THAT IF IT IS NOT REPLACED IT COULD CAUSE UNDER THE HOOD FIRE. *TR

IN 2007, WE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL REPLACED BY A FORD DEALER DUE TO THE RECALL. THE FIRE WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE IS TOTALED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE IN A HARD RAIN AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. I COULD NOT SEE AND WAS FORCED TO QUICKLY BRAKE AND PULL OFF OF THE ROAD. THIS CAUSED A CAR BEHIND ME TO SWERVE OUT OF CONTROL. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NOT ANY PHYSICAL ACCIDENT.
