2005 FORD EXPEDITION - ENGINE DEFAULTS TO "LIMP HOME" MODE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. HAS OCCURRED TWICE SO FAR BUT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO NEGOTIATE GETTING OFF THE ROAD. VEHICLE HAS RESTARTED AFTER SITTING FEW MINUTES. *TR
DT: THE CONTACT STATES WHEN HE PIVOTS THE FOOT TO THE LEFT TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THE FOOT WILL ALSO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL. HE FEELS THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS ARE TO CLOSE TOGETHER.*AK UPDATED 1/4/2006 - *NM
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AT ABOUT 20 MPH WHEN IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND ALMOST LOST OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PLOWED INTO THE BRAKES AND PULLED VEHICLE OVER TO SET IN PARK AND SHUT DOWN ENGINE. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. THIS VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS TO OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AND ANYONE/ANYTHING OUT ON THE ROADS. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND RENTED A 2005 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HYDROPLANE , CAUSING IT TO HIT A TREE. AS THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED IT TURNED SIDEWAYS AWAY FROM THE SHOULDER AND HIT A TREE FROM THE SIDE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FRONT AND THE SIDE AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW WHAT TYPES OF AIR BAGS ARE IN THIS VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE RENTAL CAR AGENCY, BUT HAS NOT INFORMED THEM THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER.*AK
THE TRANSMISSION WOULD STALL AND NOT GO FORWARD IN THE DRIVE GEAR. STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WITH THE FAMILY IN THE EXPEDITION. HAD TO DRIVE HOME IN SECOND AND FIRST GEAR. VEHICLE IS 27 DAYS OLD WITH 952 MILES PURCHASED AT BILLINGLSEY FORD IN LAWTON, OK 73501. *JB
I WAS TRAVELING AT 50MPH IN MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION (3,700 MILES) WHEN A CHEVY CAVALIER RAN A STOP SIGN. I IMPACTED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY TO HIT MY BRAKES. I WAS THE SOLE PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. IMPACT DESTROYED THE FRONT END OF MY VEHIVLE, AND PUSHED THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAVALIER TO THE DRIVERS SEAT. MY VEHICLE THEN EXITED THE ROAD THROUGH A STAND OF TREES, DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND CAME TO REST ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE EMBANKMENT. FAILURE: PASSNGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BUT DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT, RESULTING IN NECK INJURIES. MAJORITY OF DAMAGE WAS TO DRIVER'S SIDE OF FRONT END. FORD HAS EXPRESSED NO INTEREST AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE AIRBAG FAILURE.
DT: THE CAR WAS SITTING AND RUNNING FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES NEAR A BUILDING. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. THE OWNER WAS UNLOADING THE VEHICLE, AND THEN WALKED BACK INTO THE BUILDING. THE OWNER HEARD A BOOM, AND CAME OUTSIDE AND SAW THAT THE CAR HIT A FAN, AND ALMOST HIT THE BARN. THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE WHEN THE OWNER GOT BACK INTO THE CAR. THE OWNER PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED, AND WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE INCIDENT. THE OWNER HAS NOT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE HAD MINIMAL DAMAGE. THERE WAS PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE FAN.THE OWNER NOTED THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND THE VEHICLE. *AK
BRAKE PEDAL AND GAS PEDALS TOO CLOSE. MANY TIMES GAS PEDAL HAS BEEN DEPRESSED WHILE TRYING TO ONLY DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL.*AK
VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN IN A PARKING LOT. WE STOPPED TO ALLOW A CAR TO PULL OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE. THE BRAKE WAS RELEASED TO ALLOW THE CAR TO SLOWLY ROLL INTO THE PARKING SPACE WHEN IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. MY WIFE PLOWED INTO THE BRAKES AS THE VEHICLE CAME CLOSE TO RUNNING OVER PEDESTRIANS WALKING BY. DEALER CHECKED AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THIS IS ONE OF TWO INCIDENTS IN A 3 MONTH PERIOD. THIS VEHICLE IS A MAJOR CATASTROPHE WAITING TO HAPPEN, PLEASE BEWARE OF THE DANGER. *JB

DT HAS A GLARE PROBLEM WITH THE WINDSHIELD, ALMOST LIKING LOOKING IN A MIRROR BECAUSE DASHBOARD LIGHTS INTERFERE WITH THE VISIBILITY OF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. HAD A DARK TOWEL ON THE DASHBOARD TO HELP WITH THE GLARE. NOTICED THIS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. BEEN TO THE DEALER, THEY HAD CONSUMER CALL FORD BECAUSE OTHER CUSTOMERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
MY 2005 FORD EXPEDITION SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING IN ROSEVILLE, CA ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 13TH 2010. MY FAMILY OF FOUR WAS IN THE CAR, AND LUCKILY, WE AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT. A "ENGINE FAIL SAFE MODE" LIGHT CAME ON, AND I HAD TO PULL ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I RESTARTED MY VEHICLE WITH NO PROBLEMS. *TR
THE EXPEDITION THAT I HAVE MAKES AN ANNOYING NOISE AT VARYING SPEEDS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE SHOP IN FEB FOR A NOISE WHICH ENDED UP BEING A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR END. *NM
2005 FORD EXPEDITION WITH FACTORY DEFECTS CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE CAR SOMETIMES SHOCKS THE BODY WHILE GOING THROUGH THE CAR WASH**CC 08/14/07 ADD TO CUSTOMER SENT IN ADDITIONAL INFO**NAR**CC THE CONSUMER STATED PLEASE ASSIST IN RETRIEVING THE $29,000 PAID OUT FOR THE VEHICLE AS THEY HAVE LEARNED THE VEHICLE IS NOT A NEW VEHICLE BUT WAS USED AND WAS SERIOUSLY DAMAGED. THE CONSUMER STATED IF IT RAINS OR GOES THROUGH A CAR WASH THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND RUNNING THE VIN NUMBER INDICATES THAT THIS INFACT IS A USED VEHICLE NOT A NEW VEHICLE AS STATED BY THE DEALER. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ROOF SHAKES BADLY. *TR
