FAILS ABOUT EVERY 3 YEARS. SWITCH FAILS AND THEN NO BRAKELIGHTS. IO HAVE SEEN OTHER EXPLORERS NEAR THE SAME YEAR WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE ROAD. *AK
BRAKE SWITCH LIGHT HAS BEEN REPLACED FOUR TIMES ALREADY, BUT PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WA SNOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK

PRIOR TO RECALL NOTIFICATION CONSUMER REPLACED ALL 5 FIRETSTONE (P235/75) TIRES BECAUSE HE NOTICED TIRES WERE WEARING DOWN AND NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING ON THEM, CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMNT. *JB
REAR ABS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE, CAUSING REAR BRAKES TO LOCK UP. *AK
PE00020, TIRE TREAD SEPARATION: WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 60 MPH TREAD ON THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE DISINTEGRATED TO NOTHING. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE,AND NO ONE WAS INJURED. NOT ORIGINAL TIRE EQUIPMENT. TIRE SIZE P23575R15. TIRE MILEAGE LESS THAN 30,000. OWNER REPLACED TIRE WITH THE EXACT SAME TIRE. PLEASE LIST DOT # F POSSIBLE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 TO 72MPH, THE VEHICLE SHAKES AND VIBRATES DUE TO A PROBELM WITH THE DRIVESHAFT. DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE MOTOR MOUNTS AND STABILIZER BAR. DEALER ALSO WANTS TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT, HOWEVER HE IS WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT THESE FIXES WILL REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *SLC

TWO (2) OF THE FOUR (4) ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES HAD BULGES IN SEVERAL SPOTS AROUND THEM. I HAD THEM REPLACED AT NTB (NATIONAL TIRE & BATTERY) IN LOUISVILLE, KY ON 5/18/98 WITH ONLY 36,418 MILES FOR FEAR OF MAJOR FAILURE.( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P235/75R15 )

APRIL, 1996 I, MY EX WIFE, AND MY DAUGHTER WERE COMING BACK FROM PALMDALE, LA COUNTY, TRAVELING EAST ON 138 HIGHWAY BACK TO ONTARIO, SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, WHERE I USED TO RESIDE. WHILE I WAS PASSING SLOW TRUCK IN TWO HIGHWAY TRYING TO GET BACK IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK ONE OF THE FRONT TIRES EXPLODED I LOST CONTROL OF THE 1994 FORD EXPLORER GOT ON THE DIRT THE CAR WAS AIRBORNE LANDED TURN GOD KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES AND LANDED ON THE SIDE. *TR

LEAVES ARE BEING SUCKED INTO THE OUTSIDE AIR VENT, THEN INTO A OPEN REGISTER IN THE CONDENSER WHERE THE LEAVES BURN.
CONSUMER WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TT
FRONT END OF VEHICLE VIBRATES WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. LEFT AND RIGHT BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED/CRACKED. PADS ARE WORN EXCESSIVELY CONSIDERING MAJORITY OF MILEAGE WAS ON FREEWAY.
THE SHOULDER BELT DIDN'T LOCK IN AN ACCIDENT. CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO BE THROWN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. PLEASE DESCRIBE. TT
DURING NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR OVER A QUARTER OF A MILE. TT
SMOKE IN A/C VENTS REPORTED TO FORD IN 1996 - MECHANIC WROTE THAT "THIS SITUATION MAY RESULT IN FIRE"
TRANSMISSION HAS DIFFICULTY PUTTING INTO GEAR, WHEN FINALLY ENGAGED IN PARK WITH EMERGENCY BRAKE ON VEHICLE JUMPED INTO REVERSE DRAGGING CONSUMER RESULTING IN ACCIDENT AND INJURY.
HEAT SHIELDS HAVE SEPARATED FROM ALL EXHAUST COMPONENTS CAUSING VIBRATION.
ANTILOCK BRAKES LOCK UP, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. (SECOND VEHICLE ON 501717) *DSH
WHEELS LOCK UP WHEN APPLYING ABS BRAKES DURING SNOWY/ICY WEATHER, CAUSED TWO ACCIDENTS.*AK
I HAVE HAD THREE FIRESTONE ATX II TIRES REPLACED PRIOR TO FAILING. ALL THREE HAD PARTIAL SEPERATION (BULGES). I ALSO HAVE TERRIBLE ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS WITH THESE TIRES, AS THEY ALL PULL IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. I CAN ONLY MOUNT THEM ONE WAY TWO CANCEL EACH OTHER OUT. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THESE TIRES, BUT HATE TO THROW AWAY THE TREAD LEFT ON THEM.*AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 23575R15 )
