THE IGNITION, SEATS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL FEATURES DID NOT WORK, DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR MODULE, DEALER REPLACED THE MODULE TWICE, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM RECURRED.*JB
2003 FORD EXPLORER STARTED ACCELERATION FROM 40 KM UP TO 90 KM IN JUST SECONDS, BRAKES WOULDN'T STOP OR SLOW IT DOWN, USED EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND IT EVENTUALLY STOPPED. TOOK IT TO FORD, AND THEIR REASON FOR THE ACCELERATION WAS FLOOR MAT IN THE WAY. WHAT A JOKE, THAT'S WAS THE FIRST THING I CHECKED FOR AND THEY WEREN'T IN THE WAY. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK IN A PARKING SLOT, I SLOWLY EASED INTO THE SLOT AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE SPED UP AND HIT A POLE DAMAGING IT AND DENTING THE VEHICLE LICENSE PLATE AND HOLDER.
CHAT CONVERSATION START 5:57PM GREETINGS, I SAW YOU COMMENTARY ABOUT THE FORD EXPLORER EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE CABIN, WELL I HAVE A 2004 FORD EXPLORER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, I AM A MECHANIC I FIGURED MAY BE THE FILTER WAS CLOGGED WELL IT WAS NO FILTER, WHAT I FOUND THE VENT DOOR FELL OFF FROM THE PLACE WHERE IT SUPPOSE TO OPEN AND CLOSE LAYING DOWN ON THE FAN, SO I REINSTALLED BACK AND THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED, IT IS A POOR DESIGN FROM THE FORD COMPANY. I WAS LOOSING HEAT DURING WINTER AND NOT BE COOL AT THE SUMMER LOOSING THE THRU VENT OUT PLACE. FORD NEEDS TO FIX ALL THIS PROBLEMS ALONG WITH SEAT BELTS, REAR WINDOW QUARTER PANEL CRACKED NO ONE IS GETTING FORD TO DO RECALLS ON THIS ITEMS VERY POOR CONSTRUCTION.

AT 600 MINI WINDING IN REAR END DELER SAID DRIVE IT AND SEE IF IT GETS BETTER IT DID NOT SO AT AROUND 2000 MI DAMEROW FORD REPLACED ALL BEARINGS AND SEALS PROBLEM WORSE THEN BEFORE SEALS WENT OUT, AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN TO DAMEROW FORD REPLACED REAR END WITH TESTED REAREND SAME PROBLEM AT 2400 MI SAME PROBLEM AT APROX. 3000 MI LATER DAMROW REPLACED WITH ANOTHER SVT REAR EDN THIS WAS ALSO, TESTED AND AGAIN AT 19,000 MI AND AIT WAS REPLACED AT MACKENZIE FORD AT 25,000 MI IT WAS REPLACED AGAIN AND NOW IT HAS ABAD VIBRATION NOISE 40 TO 70 MI AND ABOVE AT 28,000 IT GOES BACK TOMMORROW WE WILL SEE WHAT IF NOTHING THEY CAN DO. *AK
PLASTIC UNDER (ATTACHED TO) REAR LIFTGATE WINDOW CRACKED IN COLD WEATHER. CRACK WAS ~10 INCHES LONG. ENTIRE LIFTGATE NEEDS REPLACING.
2003 FORD EXPLORER "O/D OFF" LIGHT BLINKING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING A LOUD CLINKING NOISE CAN BE HEARD. THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *NLM SQUEELING NOISE FROM MOTOR. TRANSMISSION LURCHED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE. TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE HAD TO BE FLUSHED. REPLACE STEERING SHAFT FOR CLINKING NOISE. CLOCKSPRING REPLACED.
THE REMOTE DOOR AUTO LOCK DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK WHEN REMOTE PUSHED. THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN AND WITH BOTH REMOTES. WHEN THIS PROBLEM EXISTS, THE RADIO GETS CRACKLY TOO. BEEN TO FORD IN PLYMOUTH, MN BUT CAN'T FIND PROBLEM. IF I SHOULD NEED TO USE IN AN EMERGENCY, THIS COULD BE A MAJOR PROBLEM. *LA
THE SEAT BELTS DO NOT FULLY RETRACT CAUSING THE SEAT BELT TO JAM THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM, RESULTING IN THE DOOR NOT CLOSING PROPERLY AND OPENING AT ANY GIVEN TIME! *JB
RIGHT SIDE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WOULD JITTER AND BOTTOM OUT WHEN YOU OPEN AND CLOSE WINDOW. THIS PROBLEM WAS CONTINUOUS SINCE DAY ONE. I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS JUST OFF ITS TRACK. SO I DIDNT WORRY ABOUT IT TO MUCH AND I WAITED (WHICH IS MY FAULT AS TO WHY I HAD TO PAY FOR IT) UNTIL SOMETHING MORE WORTH WHILE GOING IN FOR CAME UP. WHEN I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT FROM MY DEER ACCIDENT, THEY SAID THAT THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW WAS DOING WHAT IT WAS DUE TO A BAD ELECTRIC MOTOR. I THINK FORD NEEDS TO BE MORE THOROUGH WHEN TESTING THE VEHICAL FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE. THE WINDOW WAS ONLY USED THREE TIME TO DATE. I DIDNT MIND PAYING FOR THE REPAIR AS I AM SURE FORD WOULD OF HONORED THE WARRENTY IF I WOULD OF DELT WITH IT THEN. BUT ITS JUST THE FACT OF THE MATTER THAT THEY PUT A FAULTY ELECTRIC MOTOR IN THE SUV THAT SHOULD OF BEEN CAUGHT WHEN IT CAME OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE.*AK

PROBLEMS WITH ABS BRAKING SYSTEM ON 2003 FORD EXPLORER.*MR WHEN MAKING EMERGENCY STOPS AND ABS INITIATED, BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY DECREASES, AND TRAVELS DOWNWARD PAST THE GAS PEDAL STOPPING CLOSE TO THE FLOOR. IN SOME CASES, CONSUMER HAS THE TENDENCY TO PRESS BOTH THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS DUE TO THE PROXIMITY OF THE TWO PEDALS, WHICH RESULTED CONSUMER TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE. *LA

THE CONSUMER'S 2003 FORD EXPLORER HAD A ROCK CHIP THE WINDSHIELD. A CRACK DEVELOPED FROM THE CHIP. *KB THE CRACK RAN THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE WINDSHIELD ARE POORLY MANUFACTURED. *NM
2003 FORD EXPLORER'S DRIVER'S SEAT SHIFTED WHEN THE CONSUMER ACCELERATED OR DECELERATED QUICKLY. *TS THE SEAT WAS REPAIRED ONCE ALREADY. A LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS LOOKED AT THE SEAT RECENTLY BUT INDICATED THAT THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE THE REPAIR. *NM
2003 FORD EXPLORER WITH BAD RECALL REPAIR WORK. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE WRONG. HE STATES THAT THE HINGES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE REPLACED. DEALER REPLACED THE STRUTS AND HINGES. *KB WHEN THE CONSUMER TRIED TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED THE FIRST TIME HE WAS TOLD THE STRUTS LOOKED FINE. HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S SIDE HINGE BEGAN TO SEPARATE AND THE WHOLE LIFTGATE SUBSEQUENTLY SHIFTED; THE GAP BETWEEN THE LIFTGATE AND THE BODY WAS NO LONGER SYMMETRICAL BUT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHILE DECREASED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. AS A RESULT, THE LIFTGATE NO LONGER LATCHED OR WOULD ONLY LATCH WITH A GREAT DEAL OF PRESSURE APPLIED WHEN CLOSING IT. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS THE TWO HINGES AT THE TOP OF THE REAL HATCH GLASS SECTION THAT ATTACHED TO THE ROOF OR BODY OF THE VEHICLE THAT WERE BROKEN. THE CONSUMER STATED THE LIFTGATE LATCH, TRIM PANEL AND THE REAR TAILLIGHT WERE DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THE DEFECTIVE HINGE AND SHOULD BE FIXED WITHOUT CHARGE. RECALL# 04V442000 *JB

CONSUMER STATES THAT VEHICLE HAD BEEN SITTING FOR 40 MINUTES WHEN THE REAR HATCHBACK WINDOW EXPLODED. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IT STARTED ROLLING BACK. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE VIBRATED EXCESSIVELY IN THE REAR END. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED MANUFACTURER'S TSB ON ISSUE ADVISED PROBLEM CAUSED BY REAR AXLE.*AK *PH *PH
WHILE DRIVING 40-45 MPH AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE LOST POWER. CONSUMER PULLED VEHICLE OVER AND RESTARTED IT. THEN, RETURNED TO NORMAL DRIVING. *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT 40 MPH VEHICLE JERKED AND THEN STALLED. WHEN STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT THE LIGHTS ON THE GAUGES CAME ON. CONSUMER HAD TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK, THEN RESTART IT. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. ALSO, CONSUMER TEST DROVE VEHICLE WITH THE MECHANIC, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED CONSUMER HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM REAR OF VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND LEFT IT THERE FOR 30 DAYS. DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
