When I contacted my local dealership I was notified there was a recall for the power steering. However the recall was only good until 150,000 miles. Yet I have owned this vehicle for 2 years and NEVER BEEN CONTACTED
See attached document for complaint
We have been waiting for this part from Ford for over 1 year. I am told by the dealership that they have been limiting the number of parts the dealerships can order. The same dealership order 100 and has only received 5 to date. This is unacceptable. When a part is recalled because of safety it should not be over a year to receive the part. Why are they not being held accountable. My sons car has trip that has fallen off and or flaps in the wind.
I was driving down a highway at 55 MPH and my traction control lights came on. Next my assist power steering warning light came on which was yellow. Then the red assist power steering warning came on and I lost all power steering. The dealership did confirm the problem was my steering angle sensor, but said this did not fall under the recall anymore because I have too many miles.
The contact’s daughter owns a 2011 Ford Explorer. The contact was informed by his daughter that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. During the failure, the vehicle had to be turned off and restarted to regain power steering functionality. On another occasion, the vehicle lost power steering functionality; however, after a restart, the vehicle failed to regain power steering assist functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the rack and pinion was replaced; however, the battery failed afterwards. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately three times. The vehicle was not repaired again. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Referencing Recall 24V031: A and B Pillar trim clips fail and cause cover to fly off while driving. * Puts driver and others at risk by part releasing from clips and flying off while driving. * I just lost my 4th one and have been waiting for parts at Corning Ford (530-824-5434) to fix this issue since August of 2024 when we originally took the vehicle in for repair. * After viewing my other cover, it is also near detaching and flying off without warning. * I feel the lack of attention and available parts for this recall is causing unnecessary risk to drivers and others on the road. PLEASE TAKE ACTION IN THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY COMPLETES THIS RECALL AND FIXES OUR VEHICLE.

In the 2021 Ford Explorer there are multiple leaks due to rain / water damage. The back of the trunk has a leak that has water running down the side into the third row seat it causes rust on to the spare tire, it’s causes fog to be on the inside of the car causing issues to see. There is also leaking in the front of the car that comes out through the light unit above all electric panel. This leaking is causing the ceiling lights to have issues, drips into the dashboard with all the electrical items causing the unit to short, which is where the rear camera display occurs.

On or around December 15 while driving I lost the ability to steer the car without using considerable strength
Power windows and power mirror buttons stopped working and then “Service power steering now” message came on and the steering wheel is locked and very hard to turn. The electrical wiring for the windows run through the power steering gear. The vehicle has not been inspected or repaired
I was driving 68 MPH down the highway when my car threw a Power Stearing Assist Fault, I almost hit head on with a Semi but was able to hit my E break and put the car in neutral to get back over to my side fo the road. I had to have the car towed, my mechanic said there was a recall on the Electric Power Assist System. the Reference number is 14v286000. I called the ford dealship and explained to them the situation as well as what my mechanic said and they told me they were not going to do anything for the vehicle. How are we not going to replace faulty parts that almost took someones life. Someone has to be held resposible as there should be safety measures in place on the vehicle to prevent this and there were none and now the manufacturing company isnt going to honor the recall put into place by the NHTSA.

While driving down the highway, the power steering quit working totally. Causing me to go off the road into the ditch. There was a recall on the power steering gear that ford refuses to fix. They state it was fixed with a power steering module reset that did not.
I was on the highway and my whole steering went out and I bought the vehicle 2 years ago and learned today there was a recall in the steering gear and I need to know what I can do because I have 3 children one with down syndrome and we need to have a vehicle that is safe Please help.
As I was driving, a “service Power steering” warning came on along with another warning about my power assist being lost. I have taken my car to see a mechanic a total of 4 times for this same issue and need answers or reimbursement.

Pursuant to the attached pdf file this relates to component parts of the air bag system. When these connections fail or have an issue it disables all of the safety features in the vehicle related to the air bag system and will prevent airbag deployment or any operation in a crash. This has been an issue since we purchased the car used with around 35,000 miles on it. Multiple repair attempts have failed. At 61,000 mile I was told that they would have to replace the connections but since it was more than 60,000 miles the cost of that repair would be out of my pocket as they would no longer honor any warranty coverage. Ford customer service in Dearborn agreed with that assessment. The cost estimate at that time was given at a minimum of $3000.00 dollars. This issue remains unresolved to this day and time as I have tried to appeal that decision and while I have tried to find an independent repair shop that would do this work. To date no independent shop will do this as it effects a safety system. At a 100,000+ miles now I am transporting my grandchildren in this car without the benefit of an operating airbag system due to Ford's continued failures.

The exterior A-pillar trim panel on my 2011 Ford Explorer has detached multiple times while driving. The first incident occurred when the original panel flew off into traffic, creating a safety hazard for other road users. Since then, I have been using a temporary replacement panel, which also continues to detach while driving, further escalating the safety risk. I have been attempting to resolve this issue for over three months by contacting every Ford dealership in the Bay Area. Each dealership claims they do not have the parts necessary to complete the recall repair, despite Ford's assertion that parts are available. As a result, the recall remains incomplete, and the issue persists, creating ongoing safety risks for myself and others on the road. No warning lamps or messages preceded the incidents. The problem has not been reproduced or inspected by a dealer due to the unavailability of parts. This unresolved recall places myself and other road users at continued risk of potential crashes caused by flying debris from my vehicle.
The recall for my 2011 Ford Explorer (Manufacturer Recall Number: 24S02, NHTSA Recall Number: 24V031) remains unresolved because Ford has not supplied the necessary parts to local dealerships, despite the official recall documentation stating, "Parts are now available to repair your vehicle." Ford claims to have authorized dealers to inspect and repair any loose or missing exterior A-pillar trim moldings free of charge, including parts and labor. However, this claim is false, as no dealership I’ve contacted in the Bay Area, including those near Brentwood, CA, has received the required parts to perform the repair. The A-pillar trim on my vehicle has already detached while driving, creating a road hazard for other vehicles and posing a serious safety risk. Additionally, the lack of a permanent fix is exposing my vehicle to potential water and moisture damage. I have contacted multiple Ford dealerships over the past three months, as well as Ford’s Customer Relationship Center, and all have confirmed that the recall parts are not available. Ford’s inability to fulfill its stated remedy has left me without a solution, prolonging the safety risk and potential vehicle damage. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate Ford’s handling of this recall and compel them to supply the necessary parts to dealerships so that the repair can be completed as promised. This is a critical safety issue that requires immediate resolution. The A-pillar trim has detached from my vehicle while driving, creating a road hazard for other drivers. Additionally, the continued lack of repair risks water and moisture entering my vehicle, potentially causing further damage and compromising its safety. No, Ford has not been able to inspect or repair the vehicle because the necessary parts are unavailable, despite their claim that parts are ready. No warnings were present before the A-pillar trim detached while driving.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that the front windshield A-pillar trim had become loosened. The contact glued the trim back in place. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V031000 (Structure); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Power steering has gone out on car. There was a previous recall but I was told it has expired. I am not over the miles allowed to claim the recall on the power steering. It is not safe to drive this car without properly being fixed. The recall should still be applied regardless of its expiration as I have not exceeded the milage. I don’t feel it is safe to have an expired recall on a car, especially if the milage is so low.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the A-pillar trim on both sides of the windshield started to detach. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The power steering system fault failed .Yes, the power steering system is available for inspection upon request. The failure of the power steering system put my safety and the safety of others at risk because it became extremely difficult to steer the vehicle, especially at low speeds, which could have led to a loss of control and potential accidents.Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by SUBURBAN FORD OF TROY .The vehicle has been inspected by SUBURBAN FORD OF TROY.There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. The issue first appeared suddenly while driving on September 14, 2024.
Complaint Regarding Lack of Recall Parts Availability for Manufacturer Recall Number: 24S02, NHTSA Recall Number: 24V031 Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to formally report an issue regarding the unavailability of parts necessary to complete the safety recall repair for my 2011 Ford Explorer. The recall in question is Manufacturer Recall Number: 24S02, NHTSA Recall Number: 24V031, concerning the detachment of the A-pillar applique trim. Despite being notified that parts are available, I have been unable to find a Ford dealership in my area (Brentwood, CA 94513) or the broader Bay Area that has the required parts to perform the recall repair. I have contacted multiple dealerships over the past three months, and each has informed me that Ford has not supplied them with the parts needed to resolve this issue. This lack of resolution is alarming, as the detachment of the A-pillar trim panel while driving has already posed a significant safety hazard. The original panel flew off into traffic, endangering other road users, and a temporary panel continues to detach while driving. Ford's inability to supply the necessary parts leaves this critical safety issue unresolved and puts myself and others on the road at continued risk. I respectfully request the NHTSA to investigate this matter and ensure that Ford complies with their obligation to provide the necessary parts for this recall repair. Additionally, I would appreciate any guidance on further steps I can take to ensure my vehicle is repaired promptly and safely. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V286000 (Steering); the VIN was included, but the contact was informed that the vehicle had already been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 134,000.

Back up camera. when back up is engaged, picture on backup monitor is reversed, left becomes right and and right becomes left. This happened ab out two months ago and will happen every time shift is placed in reverse. This is a safety issue and particularly for my wife because she always depends on the back up camera. Yesterday I inquired with my local Ford Dealer, but they informed me that there is no recall by Ford for my model (They told me that there is one for the 2023 year and up for failing back up camera, but this even worse, because when the camera fails, it's known right away that you have to depend on the side and review mirrors. Please advise
My vehicles EPAS is failing. This happened while I was diving down the road. the Ford motor company is aware of the issue. In the past they did a CSP for the issue. That CSP has expired. The issue has not been resolved and they will do nothing to resolve the issue.
See attached document for complaint.
I have a recall 24V031 letter dated February 2024. I called and got an appointment for 7 Aug, showed up at the dealership, just to get turnaround and was told that they don’t have the glue to fix the recall. No phone calls or text received to let me know that my appointment was canceled due to this problem. I was told that they will call me back, once glue is received. It’s now 2 Oct, still no calls, so I called them back. I was told that this is still an issue and that they’re still waiting for the glue to come in. They have added my name to a “Wait list”, and we’ll be notified once they’re ready to fix the recall issue. I don’t understand how long are we supposed to wait for this? Is there something I can do to fix this problem? Please advise. Thank you.

" exterior A pillar applique trim clip attachments are not properly engaged." I recieved a safety recall letter July 2024. I called Zeigler Ford dealership for the repair. They scheduled an appointment and inspected it and said they cannot fix it due to unavailable parts from Ford. This has been going on for a year and supposedly they can't get the parts. Pieces of the rubber around my windshield was flapping around and eventually fell off. When I called Ford customer service, they said first I need to get the vehicle inspected to that I told them I already had it inspected. Then they transferred me to the dealership to schedule an inspection which I don't need because it was already done. They just transferred me and did not answer my question as to why it hasn't been fixed yet, and why they are not supplying parts to the dealership. They basically left it to the service technician to tell me again that there are no parts. They want to give people the run around and let them possibly get injured in unsafe vehicles.
