OIL PAN RUST. METAL 'FLAKES' OFF THINNING THE STRUCTURE OF THE PAN. HAVE HEARD OF OTHERS WITH THE FORD PICKUP
MY F-150 HAS HAD NOISY BRAKES THAT VIBRATE, WEAR EXCESSIVELY FAST AND STOP POORLY SINCE MY FATHER BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW, I HAVE REPLACED PADS, ROTORS17 TIMES,AND CALIPERS TWICE, MY FATHER WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THEM BUT FORD REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM. MY REAR FUEL TANK SENDS ALL THE FUEL TO THE FRONT TANK WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, UNTIL THE FRONT TANK IS FULL, THEN IT SPILLS ALL OVER THE GROUND CAUSING A FIRE HAZARD. FORD ADMITTED THAT SOME 1993 TRUCKS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND RECALLED SOME OF THEM BUT SAID THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED AND MY 1994 TRUCK CAN'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM BUT EVERYONE I KNOW WITH A 1994 F-150 HAS THIS PROBLEM, AND WHEN I CHECKED ON FORDTRUCKS.COM, MANY 1994 F150 OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, ALSO MANY 1994 F150 OWNERS ALSO HAD MY SAME AIRBAG PROBLEM. WHEN WILL YOU GUYS PRESSURE FORD INTO FIXING THESE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. *AK
WHEN THE WIPER SWITCH IS TURNED ONTO INTERMITTENT , THE TIME SPAN BETWEEN WIPES IS VERY IRREGULAR, SOMETIMES UP TO 2 OR 3 MINUTES BETWEEN SWIPES OF THE WIPER. ALSO, THE WIPERS DO NOT FUNCTION WHEN PUT ON THE SLOW SPEED OF THE SWITCH, AND THE SWITCH MUST BE TURNED UP TO FULL SPEED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE JUMPS OUT OF GEAR,RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER. THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. *AK
CONSUMER WAS PARKED. WHEN HE TURNED THE IGNITION SWITCH THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR AIRBAG #93V-155 DATED 9-14-93. *AK
1. BOTH FRONT AND REAR FUEL PUMPS FAILED AT 30000 MILES AND WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. FRONT PUMP FAILED AGAIN AT 60000 MILES. FORD REFUSED ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OR RESPONSIBILTY FOR DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT AT 60000. 2. AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT ON DASH FLASHED CODE 3-2 . DEALER REPLACED CLOCK SPRING MODULE UNDER DASH PLACED AT CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE. *AK
MY OIL PAN GASKET HAS SLID OUT OF LOCATION. NO WORK WAS DONE TO CAUSE THIS. FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS AND IS NOT ADDRESSING IT. MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY LEAKING OIL ON THE GROUND EVERY DAY,AS PROBABLY ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHER FORD TRUCK PANS. MY TRUCK IS LEAKING ABOUT 1 QUART A WEEK,THATS 52 QUARTS A YEAR , RUNNING OFF INTO OUR ENVIROMENT! I THINK IF FORD IS CONCERNED ABOUT OUR ENVIROMENT, THEY SHOULD REPAIR THESE AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER. ALSO FORD OIL PANS ARE RUSTING THROUGH CAUSING THE SAME IMPACT ON THE ENVIROMENT. THE DEALERSHIPS CLAIM THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND CONTINUES TO BE. ISO 14001 YOU TELL ME? THANKS FOR LETTING ME SPOUT OFF. I'M CURRENTLY LOOKIG AT JAPANESE AUTO TO REPLACE THIS TRUCK.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 15 MPH CONSUMER FOUND OUT THAT THE LUGS: NUTS WERE COMING OUT OF THE LEFT FRONT JUST LIKE IT HAD HAPPENED BEFORE ON THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE. *AK
VEHICLE DIAGNOSED WITH FAILED FUEL PUMP AND REFUSED TO COVER UNDER WARRANTY. ALL ALONG, WE WERE EXPERIENCING FUEL POURING OUT OF TANK #1 AND FOUND THAT THE GAS WAS BEING SHIFTED FROM TANK #2 TO TANK #1. THERE WAS A RECALL THROUGH MODEL YEARS 1993. MY TRUCK IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT IS DESCRIBED IN RECALL #93S68. FUEL IS BEING SHIFTED INTO TANK #1 AND SPILLING OUT CONSTANTLY. THIS WAS ONLY NOTICED BECAUSE OF THE FUEL PUMP FAILURE IN TANK #1 BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE TECHNICIAN. UNTIL MY RECENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE RECALL, I THOUGHT THIS WAS RELATED TO THE FAILURE OF THE FUEL PUMP WHICH I COULD NOT AFFORD REPAIR TO. *AK
EA99-032; DUAL FUEL TANK CROSS FLOW/LEAKAGE AND RECALL 93V125 000/FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY: VEHICLE EXPERIENCING ON GOING PROBLEM WITH PORTION OF UNUSED FUEL FROM ONE TANK TO BE RETURNED TO SECOND TANK. WHEN SECOND TANK EXCEEDS IT LIMIT, IT CAUSES FUEL SPILLAGE WHICH CAN RESULT IN A FIRE WHEN EXPOSED TO A SOURCE OF IGNITION. MANUFACTURER CONTACTED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH AND THE HORN DOES NOT SOUND, CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER, DEALER STATED THERE IS SOME CONNECTION BETWEEN THE HORN ASSEMBLY AND THE AIR BAG. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
REAR GAS TANK TRANSFERS FUEL TO FRONT TANK CAUSING FRONT TANK TO OVERFILL AND CAUSES FUEL SPILLAGE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM SINCE 1998. I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO USE UP FRONT TANK FIRST OR GAS WILL COME OUT OF THE CHARCOAL CANISTER. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES UNTIL I FIGURED OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND OF COURSE TRUCK WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. *JB
FRONT SEATS HAVE BECOME LOOSE AND WOBBLY DUE TO STRESS CRACKS IN METAL BETWEEN THE SEATS AND CHASSIS WELDS FROM NORMAL USE.
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH HIT A TREE HEAD ON, AND AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. ONE INJURED. *AK
DURING FRONTAL IMPACT AT 20 TO 30 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. PLEASE DESCRIBE ANY DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN SHAKING AND JERKING DUE TO LOOSE BOLTS IN RADIOUS ARMS BUSHINGS.
CONSUMER COMPLAINING OF DOOR HANDLE SPLITTING FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE INSIDE (DRIVER SIDE) DOOR. CONSUMER UNABLE TO GET OUT FROM INSIDE. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND WILL REPAIR AT COST TO THE CONSUMER. *AK
THE OIL PAN HAD RUSTED COMPLETELY THROUGH, CAUSING THE OIL TO LEAK OUT. AT TIME OF OIL CHANGE, THE MECHANIC HAD INFORMED OWNER ABOUT THE RUSTED OIL PAN. *AK
WARPED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHAKE WHEN STOPPING.
WHILE TRUCK PARKED IN GARAGE FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 OR MORE HOURS, THE MOTOR CAUGHT AN FIRE AND BURNED COMPLETELY UP, INCLUDING WIRES. *AK
TRANSMISSION/ TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED.
AT 7,000 MILES REAR AXLE SEALS WENT BAD; BRAKES FAILED TO STOP VEHICLE. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE AN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING REAR LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY:LEAF MALFUNCTIONED. *AK
THE DEFECTIVE FRONT RIGHT SIDE AXLE RUBBER BUSHING MELTED DUE TO THE CATAYLIC CONVERTER, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *AK
BRAKE ROTORS FAILED PREMATURELY DUE TO RUST AND CORROSION.
CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE.
WHILE DRIVING AT 35MPH THE TRUCK WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION IN WHICH THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE TRUCK ONLY HAD DRIVER'S AIR BAG, AND TRUCK HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE SIDE. BUT THE TRUCK USED THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK, SO IT WAS A HEAD-ON COLLISION. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
WHEN EVER REVERSING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WOULD STALL/DIE OUT FOR NO REASON; PLACED VEHICLE IN PARK TO RESTART. ITS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. HAVE NOT TAKEN TO DEALER AS OF YET. *AK
OWNER HIT ANOTHER CAR FRONT END AND THE AIR BAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. *AK
NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG IN ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE IDLING AT DRIVE THRU; SMELLED FUNNY ODOR, LIKE ELECTRICAL WIRES; PULLED OUT OF LINE & TURNED VEHICLE OFF; LIFTED HOOD & NOTICE ALTERNATOR & WIRES IN FLAMES; GOT FIRE EXTINGUISHER FROM MCDONALD'S & PUT FLAMES OUT. GOT WIRES FROM DEALER & ALTERNATOR FROM PARTS STORE & REPLACED THEM; STILL HAVE OLD PARTS.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE 35 MPH THE LEAF SPRING ON THE RIGHT REAR BROKE NEAR THE WHEEL. THE LEAF SPRING ON THE LEFT SIDE HAS TWISTED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. MECHANIC STATED THAT VEHICLE IS NOT UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION. *AK
DURING FRONTAL COLLISION DUAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND NO RESPONSE FROM THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. INJURIES: BRUISES (SHOULDER AND KNEE). *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THERE IS VIBRATION WITHIN THE STEERING. ALSO, MASTER CYLINDER FAILED, AND BUMPER ASSEMBLY IS SHIFTING AND COMING OFF. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALER FOR REPAIR SERVICE, AND DEALER CAN'T DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *AK
ALTERNATOR WIRING FAILURE.
VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED; GOT IN & STARTED VEHICLE; DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON; THERE WAS NO SIGN OF TAMPERING OR BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE; NOTIFIED THE FORD DEALER OF PROBLEM. *AK
IVE HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR BOX,THE CLUTCH,AND TWO ALTENATORS IN WHICH ONE ENDED IN A FIRE WHICH COST A CONSIDERABLE ABOUT OF DAMAGE,THE PARTS STORE HAD TOLD ME THAT FORD WAS HAVING THIS PROBLEM IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE CONSUMER WASN'T NOTIFIED OF THIS ,IN THE END RESULTS IT ALMOST BURNED MY VEHICLE UP. *AK
WHILE DRIVING APLLIED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP, ALMOST SENDING THE DRIVER INTO THE WINDSHIELD. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT THEY HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM, THE BRAKES STILL LOCK UP. *AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER TRIED TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP. PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND VEHICLE CONTINUED TO TRAVEL, SLOWLY IT CAME TO A STOP. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPER DOES NOT WORK WHEN TURN SIGNAL IS ENGAGED, CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY.
DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 25MPH, IMPACT 12:00 POSITION, DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
FRONT BUMPER IS SHIFTING ON THE TRUCK. THE MANUFACTURER/DEALERSHIP ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE BUMPER HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. *AK
WITH CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED AND TRANSMISSION IN GEAR, VEHICLE MOVES WITHOUT WARNING. FAILURE IS DUT TO THE CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER LEAKING FLUID WHICH ALLOWS CLUTCH TO ENGAGE EVEN WITH THE PEDAL DEPRESSED. PROBLEM APPEARS WORSE IN COLD WEATHER.
RADIUS ARM BRACKET WELDED TO CHASSIS TO STOP THE FRONT END FROM MAKING A POPPING NOISE.
DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN 11:00 POSITION ACCIDENT, 45MPH, THE SENSOR WAS CONTACTED. *AK CONSUMER STATES IT WAS RAINING AND VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM MADE AN ABRUT STOP WHICH CAUSED HIM TO HIT THAT VEHCILE AND ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT THE CONSUMER.*JB
UPON BRAKING ON WET PAVEMENT THE ABS BRAKES LOCKED UP, BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT PULSATE, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *AK CONSUMER STATES BRAKES HAVE LOCKED UP ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, ALSO WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE ON, DASH LIGHTS ARE OUT FUSE WAS REPLACED. *JB
BRAKES FAILED 8 TIMES, ONCE RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT.
