CONSUMER WASN'T ABLE TO INCREASE VEHICLE'S SPEED DUE TO TRANSMISSION, AND GEAR STAYED IN FIRST GEAR. ALSO, BACK WINDOW WAS LEAKING WHEN IT WAS RAINING. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THERE IS A VIBRATION IN THE PERFORMANCE OF VEHICLE, DUE TO POSSIBLE SUSPENSION PROBLEMS, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND WAS ADVISED THEY DID ALL THEY COULD REGARDING THE VIBRATIONS, AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS TO DELAERSHIP IT WAS THEN DECIDED THAT CONSUMER WOULD GET ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS A BRAND NEW MODEL, AFTER DRIVING NEW VEHICLE AND REACHING SPEEDS OF 40 TO 65 MPH CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE SAME TYPE OF VIBRATIONS AS HE DID WITH HIS OLD VEHICLE, CONSUMER WAS THEN ADVISED BY AN ENGINEER THAT THE VIBRATION IS NORMAL AND THAT 90% OF THE PROBLEM IS BETTER, CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS NOT TRUE AND AS OF 04/03/01 PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. *JB
ENGINE KEEPS FAILING. CONSUMER HAS REPLACED ENGINE 3 TIMES ,CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFROMATION.*AK
WOULD BE DRIVING AND WOULD SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR, AND IT WOULD MAKE GRINDING NOISES. THEN, LOCKED OUT OTHER GEARS. WOULD EITHER STOP OR SLOW DOWN VEHICLE AND SHIFT INTO ANOTHER GEAR. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED BY MECHANIC ENGINE NOT LONG ENOUGH TO TURN GEARS IN TRANSMISSION. NOT ABLE TO REPAIR PROBLEM. A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ON TRANSMISSION GEARS. *AK
FRONT SEAT BELTS FAILS TO RETRACT AFTER USAGE. DRIVER'S WOULD HANG DOWN, OUT THE DOOR WHILE PASSENGER'S WOULD BE PARTIALLY DOWN. HAD TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR RETRACTOR PROBLEMS. MECHANIC INDICATED WORK WILL NOT BE DONE ON SAFETY EQUIPMENT.*AK *SLC
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE SHEET METAL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WHICH HAS STARTED TO RUST THE FORD MOTOR CO. DENIES ANY PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO COVER COST OF REPAIR, BECAUSE IT HAS 53,000 MILES AND I DID NOT PURCHASE THE TRUCK NEW.
WINDSHIELD WIPER SUDDENLY COMES ON WITHOUT BEING SWITCHED BY THE DRIVER. THIS IS VERY STARTLING AND DISTRACTING TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE. I FEEL IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IT FRIGHTENS THE OPERATOR
BRAKE PEDAL FAILURE, NO ADVANCE WARNING OF THE PROBLEM, FAILURE THEN TO REAR RESULTING IN PEDAL GOING TO FLOOR.
I HAVE REPLACED THESE TIRES..I HAVE SENT FORD MOTOR CO. ALL THE PAPERS AND FORMS...NOW THEY KEEP GIVING ME A COMPLETE RUN AROUND..THEY SENT ME BACK TO THE DEALER..THE DEALER DON'T KNOW WHY THEY SENNT ME TO THEM...ALL I AM ASKING IS MY REFUND WHEN I BOUGHT THE TIRES..I CAN SEE WHY PEOPLE GET MAD AND SAY THE HELL WITH THE WHOLE DEAL...THANK YOU...MARTIN NOYES. *AK (TIRESIZE: 235/70-16)
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL CRASH WHEN IT HIT A CEMENT BARRIER TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THIS INCIDENT. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN EXAMINED TO DETERMINE A REASON FOR THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / DOCUMENTATION.*AK
THIS VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH OUTSIDE "SIGNAL" MIRRORS (RED LEDS BEHIND GLASS). THE RIGHT SIDE MIRROR HAS SUFFERED A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF REFLECTANT MATERIAL FROM THE SURFACE, REDUCING VISIBILITY TO ABOUT 40% OF ORIGINAL (SATISFACTORY ONLY IN BRIGHT DAYLIGHT). THE LEFT SIDE MIRROR HAS BEGUN TO LOSE REFLECTANT (CURRENTLY ABOUT 10%). THIS WAS POINTED OUT TO THE SHOP FOREMAN AT THE DEALER, BUT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, HE OFFFERED NO SOLUTION. REPLACEMENT WOULD COST SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF $ AT FORD PRICES, DIFFICULT TO FIND NON-OEM REPLACEMENTS. SHOP FOREMENA MENTIONED THAT HE HAD HEARD OF OR SEEN THIS S FEW TIOMES IN PAST. I HAVE OWNED NUMEROUS VEHICLES INCLUDING SEVERAL FORD AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A FREAK OCCURRENCE UNTIL THE RIGHT SIDE MIRROR BEGAN TO FAIL. I BELIEVE THAT TIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY DEFECT AND THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS. EXCEPT FOR MILEAGE, MY VEHICLE WOULD STILL BE WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD OF 36 MONTHS. THANK YOU.*AK

VEHICLE EXPERIENCED REAR WHEEL LOCK UP DURING A PANIC STOP SITUATION, VEHICLE SLID AND CONSUMER NEARLY LOST CONTROL, DEALER STATED THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING REPLACEMENT OF THE REAR BRAKE SHOES, THIS WAS TO MAKE THE ABS FUNCTION, CONSUMER FEELS HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR THESE REPAIRS. *SLC
BOTH MIRRORS ARE PEALING, I'VE LOST 90 % OF MY VIEW. I HAVE THE MIRRORS WITH THE LIGHTED TURNS SIGNALS IN THEM. FORD HAS USED A FILM LIKE TINT ON THEM AND THEY ARE NOT HOLDING UP. THEY HAVE GONE TO A NEW STYLE MIRROR ON THE NEWER TRUCKS USING A REGULAR MIRROR WITH THE LIGHTED TURN SIGNALS ON THE OUT SIDE. I HAVE CONTACTED BRANDON FORD ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO RECALL AND THEY WON'T COVER IT WITH MY ESP PLAN.*AK

THE BACKING ON BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS IS SEPERATING FROM THE GLASS MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF. THIS IS DEFINITETLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. MR
CONSUMER STATES THE TIRE INFLATION TIRES WILL NOT HOLD AIR. CONSUMER HAS TO RE-INFLATE TIRES EVERY SIX DAYS. DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. MR
HAD A FLAT TIRE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE WE PURCHASED VEHICLE. THE SPARE HAS BEEN IN THE CARRIER SINCE THE PICK UP WAS NEW, WE BOUGHT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, WE KNOW THEM PERSONALLY. THE SPARE TIRE HAD 8 RIBS CUT INTO THE TIRE FROM THE CARRIER. THE TIRE WAS IN THE CORRECT POSITION, WITH THE CORRECT AIR PRESSURE, AND TIGHT IN THE CARRIER. THE TIRE WAS WORN BADLY ENOUGH THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO USE. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED UNTIL YOU HAVE A FLAT TIRE AND HAVE TO USE THE SPARE. THE TIRE WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. WE ARE GOING TO CONTACT FORD OR A DEALER AND SEE WHAT THEY WILL DO TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. DT

THE SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED TWO OF THE BRAKE ROTORS HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED AND TWO OF THE LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JG *JB

THE TIE ROD FAILED, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO STEER. *JB
BRAKES LOCK UP IF THE VEHICLE SITS A COUPLE DAYS OR WHEN IT RAINS. *TS
FUSE CONNECTED TO THE BRAKE LIGHTS BLEW OUT THREE TIMES. DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT CIRCUIT #13 CONTROLLED THE STOP LAMP, TURN SIGNALS, HAZARDS LIGHTS AND SPEED CONTROL MODULE. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THIS IS A DANGEROUS COMBINATION. *AK *NLM
WHILE DRIVING SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD AND A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD. THE NOISE STARTLED THE DRIVER WHO LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MOMENTARILY. THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS REPLACED. *AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT ENGINE HEAD GASKET LEAKING OIL. *AK
WATER WAS GETTING DOWN INTO THE DASHBOARD AND CAUSING WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO STOP. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK NORMAL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. *AK THE WIPERS WOULD ONLY WORK ON LOW, THE RADIO WOULD CUT OFF WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN WHICH WOULD HAPPEN AFTER 10 MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T TURN OVER. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT HARNESS ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED AT THE STARTER ASSEMBLY. THERE WAS A CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH, AND THE THEFT LIGHT FLASHED. THE MECHANIC FOUND A BAD GEM MODULE WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE BLOWER TO STAY ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY. THE HEATER BOWER WOUND NOT SHUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHEN SHUTTING THE TRUNK OFF AND HAD TO BE MANUALLY SHUT OFF. *SC
EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRRORS ARE ERODING. DRIVER CAN SEE CLEAR THROUGH MIRROR AS IF IT WERE A WINDOW. THIS PROPOSES A SAFETY CONCERN, DRIVER IS NOT ABLE TO SEE ONCOMING VEHICLES. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK *MR
DOORS DEVELOPED CRACKS ABOVE THE INSIDE HANDLES. A KIT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM COSTS $600.00 PER DOOR.*AK *MR
