2004 FORD F150 LARIAT CREW CAB (FOUR-DOUR) PICK-UP. HEARD A LOUD "POP" INSIDE THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW JUST FELL FROM THE UP POSITION BACK INSIDE THE DOOR LEAVING ME WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO CLOSE IT. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE DRIVERSIDE FRONT WINDOW A ABOUT A YEAR PRIOR. I CURRENTLY HAVE 40000 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND THE PREVIOUS EVENT HAPPENED AROUND 32000 MILES. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND SCARED THE CRICKETS OUT OF ME!!! *TR
DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW FAILED ON MY 2004 FORD F150, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO RAISE WINDOW. INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE IN RURAL AREA OF MISSOURI OVER 60 MILES FROM HOME, LUCKILY MY WIFE AND I WEREN'T DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 44 IN THE RAIN. IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH, SOMEONE COULD EASILY HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THE GLASS FALLS INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL, BECAUSE OF SOME TYPE OF WINDOW FAILURE. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR MANY OWNERS OF FORD F-150'S TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THREE OF THE WINDOWS FELL OFF TRACK AND WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE FIRST WINDOW FELL IN THE SUMMER OF 2009, THE SECOND ONE FELL IN FEBRUARY 2010, AND THE MOST RECENT ONE FELL IN SEPTEMBER 2010. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT USED A STICK TO HOLD THE WINDOWS UP. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

2004 FORD F-150 DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW MADE "POP" SOUND AND WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO DOOR FRAME - WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED WITHOUT NOTICE WHEN DRIVING. *TR
THE PAINT ON MY 2004 FORD F150 IS BUBBLING AND RUSTING ON THE REAR QUARTER PANEL AND FORD REFUSES TO FIX IT DESPITE THE FACT THAT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE. *TR
I WAS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, 3 HOUSES AWAY, WHEN AN ONCOMING CAR CAME. I SWERVED MY PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR THEN STRUCK A MAILBOX. THE PASSENGER WINDOW WAS DOWN. IN THE PROCESS, ON IMPACT, THE GLASS FROM THE MIRROR EXPLODED. WHEN THE MIRROR EXPLODED, ONLY THEN, THE SHATTERED GLASS FLEW INTO THE WINDOW CUTTING A VANE IN MY RIGHT ARM. I BLEED PROFUSELY FOR 20 MIN. I MANAGED TO SLOW DOWN THE BLEEDING BUT EVENTUALLY WENT TO MEDICAL CENTER THEN TO THE HOSPITAL. GLASS FLEW INTO AND FRAGMENTS OF GLASS PENETRATED THE SEATS IN THE VEHICLE AND CLOTHING ON THE BODY. *TR
WINDOW ON THE FORD F150 2004 MODEL. WINDOW FELL DOWN AND WILL NOT ROLL UP, GRINDING NOISE. NEEDS A NEW REGULATOR BUT YOU MUST BUY THE MOTOR ALSO. CANNOT FIND A USED ONE BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED TO NUMEROUS TRUCKS AND YOU HAVE TO BUY BRAND NEW. COST $400 TO HAVE FIXED! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT AND REAR WINDOW WOULD SUDDENLY FALL WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY HAVE NOT DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
ALL FOUR OF THE WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE BROKEN IN THIS VEHICLE LETTING THE WINDOWS FALL DOWN AND SOMETIMES I HAVE BEEN PARKED AT AND NOT AROUND THE VEHICLE, ALSO HAVE BEEN SITTING IN THE TRUCK AND THEY FALL DOWN WHILE TRAVELING DOWN ROAD. *TR
MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. AFTER INVESTIGATING THE POWER WINDOW UNIT HAD BROKEN. 7 DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW. THE DEALER TOLD ME THIS IS COMMON AND IS A DEFECT BUT FORD REFUSES TO RECALL THEM. THE DEALER SAID IT WILL MOST LIKELY HAPPEN TO YOUR OTHER 2 WINDOWS AS WELL! $400 EACH TO REPAIR. *TR
PASSENGER WINDOW WAS GRINDING WHEN GOING UP OR DOWN. FINALLY, IT CAME CRASHING DOWN WHILE DRIVING THIS MORNING. STARTLED ME TO A POINT I COULD HAVE BEEN DISTRACTED ENOUGH TO LOSE CONTROL. *TR
THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ON MY 2004 F-150 TRUCK FAILED WHILE DRIVING. VERY DISHEARTENING TO FIND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE, AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND YET NEITHER FORD OR THE NHTSA HAS DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 WITH 39000 MILES ON IT , ONE DAY LAST WEEK I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR . THIS IS THE SECOND WINDOW THAT FAILED SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW , I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHER FRIENDS THAT THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THERE 04 AND 06 MODEL TRUCKS . THIS COULD BE A SAFETY PROBLEM IF IT WAS RAINING OR SNOW . I HAVE READ ON WEB SITES THAT THIS HAPPENS TO ALL FORD F150 TRUCKS AND FORD REFUSES TO START A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM , PLUS THEY CHARGE OVER $300 TO REPAIR THE REGULATOR. *TR
2004 F-150 FX4 - DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FALL DOWN DUE TO CABLE - REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY . REAR PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOWS FELL DOWN WITHIN A WEEK APART DUE TO CABLE COMING OFF TRACKS, OR ROLLERS. NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR COMPANY OF THIS PROBLEM AND I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE IT TO A LOCAL DEALER TO SEE IF IT COULD BE A MALFUNCTION. DEALERS CHARGE TO DIAGNOSE GENERALLY AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT MY FAULT, AS THEY ARE RARELY USED, ESPECIALLY AT THE PRICE THEY CHARGE. I NOTICED A LOT OF COMPLAINTS TO FORD FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, OR IS THIS A CLUNKER THEY WANT YOU TO TRADE FOR A NEW CLUNKER. *TR
2004 F150 FX4 5.4L ENGINE. BOTH OF MY WINDOW REGULATORS WENT OUT WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. THE TRUCK HAD AROUND 50,000 MILES ON IT. THE WINDOWS JUST "FELL" AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. *TR

TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR THEY TOLD ME THEY SEE THIS ALOT INSTALLED INSERT FOR REPAIR 534.00 TOLD ME NOT TO USE TRUCK FOR TOWING ANYTHING ANYMORE. CALLED FORD ABOUT PROBLEM WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A SERVICE PROBLEM. FOUND OVER 1000 COMPLAINTS ON LINE FOR SAME THING SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IF THIS IS NOT RESOLVED A LOSS OF POWER LIKE THIS OR FIRE FROM FUEL BLOWING OUT OF THE CYLINDER AND NHTSA CALLING THIS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM. SOMEONE NEEDS TO WAKE UP! *TR
I BOUGHT A 2004 FORD F-150 LAST YEAR WITH 36K MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL THREE WINDOWS BECAUSE I KEEP COMING OUT TO MY TRUCK AND THE WINDOWS ARE DOWN. I CHECKED NO RECALL THIS MORNING DRIVING TO WORK ANOTHER WINDOW FELL DOWN AND I ONLY HAVE 46K MILES ON THIS TRUCK. I DO BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THIS. FROM SOMETIME LAST YEAR WILL CHECK RECORDS FOR CONFIRMED DATE EVERY THREE MONTHS I AM LOOSING A WINDOW JUNE 10. *TR
I WAS RAISING THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW ON MY 2004 FORD F150 WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. AT FIRST THE WINDOW STAYED IN PLACE ABOUT 3/4 CLOSED THEN IT DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER WHO TOLD ME IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND HE WAS HAPPY TO REPLACE IT FOR $388.32 + TAX. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO REPLACE IT. AFTER I GOT HOME AND DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I LEARNED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON BOTH THE 2004 AND 2005 MODELS AND I CAN EXPECT THE REMAINING THREE WINDOWS TO FOLLOW SHORTLY. AS COMMON AS THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE I FEEL FORD SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL ON THE PART. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 LARIAT SUPERCREW. ON 6/11/09 I ROLLED ALL THE WINDOWS DOWN TO AIR OUT THE VEHICLE AND THEN ROLLED THEM BACK UP AND HEARD A LOUD POP COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW. THEN THE GLASS JUST FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. ON 6/22/09, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE LEFT REAR WINDOW. AFTER SEARCHING ON-LINE I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH OTHER OWNERS OF FORD F-150S. I THEN CALLED FORD AND THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN MAKE THEM BEAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE OBVIOUS DEFECTS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE HAS BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL TA TIRES, SIZE 275/65/R18 (NA). WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE DRASTICALLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BELT INSIDE THE TIRE HAD ROTTED AND BEGAN SEPARATING FROM THE TIRE. THE TIRES HAD NOT YET BEEN REPLACED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 40,000.
WINDOW ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES HAVE FALLEN WHILE DRIVING. FORD F150 2004. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP (SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT) THAT MADE ME SWERVE. AFTER STABILIZING MY TRUCK, I REALIZED THAT THE CAUSE OF THE LOUD POP WAS A BROKEN WINDOW REGULATOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THEN YESTERDAY AGAIN I WAS DRIVING AND THE OTHER WINDOW DID THE SAME THING, THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES!!!!!!! *TR
SINCE APPROX JUNE OF 2009, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATORS. ALL 4 FELL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2004 F-150 AND THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN IN TO THE DOOR. I HAD A FRIEND WITH THE SAME YEAR F-150 THAT HAD THIS HAPPEN SO I CALL HIM. HE SAID IT WOULD COST ME $450 TO REPAIR AT THE FORD PLACE AND THAT IS WAS A FAULTY WINDOW REGULATOR. IN ADDITION, HE SAID THE MECHANIC AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD HIM THIS WAS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE AND HE DID NOT KNOW WHY THERE HAD NOT BEEN A RECALL. HE ALSO SAID THAT THIS WOULD VERY LIKELY HAPPEN TO THE OTHER WINDOWS IN THE TRUCK AND THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT IT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR
HAVE HAD 2 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURES ON ONE OF MY FORD TRUCKS AND 2 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURES ON MY OTHER FORD TRUCK THAT MY DAUGHTER DRIVES. I AM DOWN TO 50% WORKING WINDOWS AND MY DAUGHTER IS AT 0%! HER LAST ONE OCCURRED 2 DAYS AGO WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING AND IT SCARED HER SO BAD, SHE ALMOST DROVE OFF THE ROAD! MINE HAPPENED YESTERDAY! FIRST NOTICED TICKING NOISE IN MY 2004 5.4L 3V V8 ENGINE. OIL WAS AT CORRECT LEVEL. I WENT DOWN A ROAD I ROUTINELY GO, AND STARTED HEARING A VERY LOUD CLANKING. SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HOLE AND NOW TRYING TO FIX. HOPEFULLY WONT HAVE TO REPLACE THE HEAD. APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS ENGINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!! THIS IS JUST THE ONE CYLINDER, BUT I HAVE 7 MORE! AM I GOING TO HAVE TO DO THIS WITH ALL OF THEM? I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WILL TRY TO FIX IT. OTHER REPAIR STATIONS SAY THEY WOULDN'T TOUCH IT AND THAT THEY HAD, OR HAVE BEEN THREATENED BY, A LAWSUIT FROM THE VEHICLES OWNER. THIS HAS ALREADY COST ME THE REPLACEMENT OF THE IGNITION COIL, A AN EXPENSIVE SPARK PLUG, AND A LOT OF DOWN TIME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE HAS BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL T/A TIRES, SIZE P245/65R17. WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE ROTTING AN INCH DOWN FROM THE TREAD. HE EMAILED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE TIRES TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER DID NOT STATE WHY THE TIRES WERE ROTTING. ANOTHER DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED TO NUMEROUS BF GOODRICH TIRES. THE TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED AT THIS TIME. FORD 2004 SUPERCREW PICKUP WITH 5.4L ENGINE. FACTORY SPARK PLUGS BREAK OFF WHEN TRYING TO DO NORMAL FACTORY SERVICE AND FORD WANTS CUSTOMER TO PAY LABOR CHARGES FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE BROKEN SPARK PLUGS. I WAS QUOTED $800. SPARK PLUGS SHOULD NOT BREAK OFF FROM THE FACTORY. *TR
FORD 2004 SUPERCREW PICKUP HAS NOW HAD 2 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURES WITHIN MONTHS APART. LAST ONE WAS THE REAR WINDOW WHICH HAS PROBABLY NOT BEEN LOWERED MORE THAN 5 TIMES IF THAT MANY IN THE LIFE OF THE TRUCK. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK AT ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN I FELT THE ENGINE "MISSING". I ROLLED DOWN MY WINDOW AND COULD HEAR THE ENGINE MISSING AND RUNNING VERY ROUGH. I WAS ABOUT 30 SECONDS FROM MY HOUSE, SO I CONTINUED. RIGHT BEFORE I GOT TO MY HOUSE I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND COASTED INTO MY DRIVEWAY. I TRIED CRANKING THE TRUCK THE NEXT MORNING AND IT IDLED ROUGH FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND THEN THE ENGINE FAILED. I TOWED IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT IT HYDROLOCKED. THERE WAS A LOT OF GAS AND WATER IN THE OIL PAN (THE ENTIRE COOLANT SYSTEM HAD DUMPED THERE). IT WAS THEN THAT I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2005 F150'S FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, A FAULTY FUEL INJECTOR THAT CAUSED HYDROLOCKING. I CALLED FORD AND ASKED IF I WAS COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL SINCE I HAD THE SAME PART. THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS ONLY FOR 2005, NOT FOR 2004 REGARDLESS OF THE PART #. THEY OFFERED ME NO HELP SINCE MY TRUCK WAS AT 72K MILES. THE TRUCK WAS IMPECCABLY MAINTAINED WITH THE OIL BEING CHANGED EVERY 3K MILES. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F-150. JUST YESTERDAY I GOT INTO MY TRUCK AND WENT TO PUT THE WINDOW DOWN AND HEARD A POP AND THE WINDOW FELL COMPLETELY DOWN INTO THE DOOR. I WENT ONLINE TO RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE F-150. I WOULD HOPE THAT A RECALL SHOULD TAKE PLACE GIVEN THE AMOUNT OF CLAIMS FROM F-150 OWNERS. *TR
2004 FORD F150 CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING. BURNED TO A TOTAL LOSS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE SITTING IN THE PARKED POSITION, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW INVOLUNTARILY FELL OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED. THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AT EACH FAILURE WHERE THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THERE WERE NO ADDITIONAL COMPLAINTS OF THE FAILURE AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
2004 FORD F-150 4.6L V8 REGULAR PICKUP TRUCK, 39,000 MILES ON ODOMETER - DRIVING 50 MPH AND THE TRUCK STARTS VIBRATING HORRIBLY LIKE DRIVING OVER A WASHBOARD ROAD. NOTHING WILL CAUSE THE VIBRATION TO STOP, EVEN THROWING THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL. MUST STOP COMPLETELY, AND SOMETIMES PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE FOR A MOMENT, THEN PUT IT BACK INTO FORWARD DRIVE, TO MAKE THE PROBLEM GO AWAY. THIS HAPPENS PERIODICALLY, ABOUT ONCE EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS. SEARCH ON GOOGLE REVEALS HUNDREDS OF OTHERS COMPLAINING OF THE EXACT SAME THING WITH THEIR 2004 F-150 TRUCKS. MOST CLAIM IT IS AN EXPENSIVE DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEM, AND CAUSED BY SOME TOOLING ERROR AT THE MANUFACTURING PLANT. FORD HAS NOT INITIATED A RECALL, AND THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM JUST HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2010, AND I NOW HAVE 43,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK. IT'S USED FOR GETTING GROCERIES. NO HEAVY USE, EVER. ALSO, THE DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER 2004 FORD F-150 OWNERS SAID THEIR TRUCKS ONLY HAD 35,000 TO 45,000 MILES ON THEM WHEN THE PROBLEM SURFACED. *TR

I HAVE A 2004 F150 TRUCK THAT MY DECEASED HUSBAND OWNED. HE PASSED IN 2006, THEREFORE THE TRUCK SITS IN MY GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME. IT ONLY HAS 28,000 MILES ON IT. I DRIVE A 2004 MUSTANG. I WAS ROLLING THE WINDOW DOWN OVER THE WEEKEND, AND IT STARTED GRAVELING AND SUDDENTLY JUST FELL IN THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK AND IT COST $390.79 FOR THEM TO REPAIR THE REGULATOR AND GIVE IT AN OIL CHANGE. I KEEP THE OIL CHANGED IN IT EVEN THOUGH I DON'T DRIVE IT MUCH. WHY IS THIS REGULATOR NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND I SEE THAT A LOT OF FOLKS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2004 FORD F350. THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR MELTED. THE WIRES AND THE CPS SENSOR WERE REPLACED. THE FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL MODULE WILL ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE ESTIMATED COST FOR THE REPAIRS WERE $653.00. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 05V270000 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: WIRING. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,005 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,589.
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 WITH 3140 MILES. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FELL WITH NO WARNING, WHICH CAUSE ME TO ALMOST HIT ON COMING TRAFFIC. IT HAPPEN SO FAST THAT I THOUGHT I HAVE BEEN HIT THAT MADE ME LOSE MY BEEN ALERT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I ALMOST HIT A CAR HEAD ON AND FELT SICK. POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE: THIS IS THE SECOND POWER REGULATOR FAILURE ON MY 2004 F150. FIRST REGULATOR WAS ON FRONT DRIVER WINDOW LAST YEAR. SECOND REGULATOR FAILURE WAS LAST WEEK ON PASSENGER WINDOW. REPAIR COST IS APPROX. $450 PER FAILURE. I HAVE A CREW CAB WITH FOUR WINDOW. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THIS IS A VERY FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH F150 MODELS 2004 THROUGH 2008. THESE FAILURES CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. FIRST TIME WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DURING WINTER. THREE OF THE FOUR POWER WINDOWS IN MY 2004 FORD F150 HAVE HAD EXPERIENCED WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURES WHILE DRIVING. ALL THREE HAVE OCCURRED IN THE PAST YEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT AND THERE IS NO REASON THE REGULATORS SHOULD HAVE FAILED FROM REGULAR USE. I CHECKED WITH FORD AND THERE IS NO RECALL DESPITE THE FACT THAT THERE IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT IN DESIGN TO LOSE 3 OUT OF 4 WINDOW REGULATORS. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F150 SUPERCREW AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL DOWN AND WHEN I GOT IT TO THE SHOP TO HAVE IT WORKED ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW FELL DOWN AS WELL. THE SOUND OF THE WINDOW FALLING AND THE SUDDEN RUSH AIR DISTRACTED ME AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A LOSS OF CONTROL. THIS WAS THE 3RD WINDOW REGULATOR FAILURE IN 2 YEARS. THE WINDOW SLIP BACK DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME OR THE SECOND, THIS IS THE THIRD TIME AROUND. CHECK OUT ANY WEB SITE ON FORD TRUCKS AND THIS WILL BE THE TOP COMPLAINT. SOME MAY SAY THAT THE DOOR WINDOWS AREN'T A SAFETY ISSUE, ONLY ISSUES INVOLVING THE WINDSHIELD. FOR ME THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THEFT, I DIDN'T BUY THE TRUCK WITH AN ALARM SYSTEM FOR NOTHING. SO, WHEN THE WINDOW POPS AND YOU CAN'T ROLL THE THING UP I'D SAY THERE'S A SAFETY ISSUE. DRIVING IN THE RAIN WITH A MAKE SHIFT GARBAGE BAG WINDOW ISN'T SO SAFE EITHER. MY AFTERMARKET WARRANTY PAID FOR THE FIX THE FIRST TWO TIMES, BUT A HAVEN'T HAD THE PLEASURE OF INFORMING THEM THAT IT'S HAPPENED FOR A THIRD TIME IN TWO YEARS. I'LL BE SURE TO MENTION THE WEBSITE COMPLAINTS TO THEM AS WELL. I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF ANGRY FORD TRUCK OWNERS OUT THERE THAT WOULD APPRECIATE IF THIS SAFETY ISSUE WAS TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
