THE FRONT BRAKES HAVE SHUDDERED WHEN APPLIED SINCE PURCHASING THE TRUCK NEW. AS A RESULT OF THIS SHUDDER, THE ROTORS HAVE WARPED AND WORN SO THIN THEY NOW HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IF WE HAD NOT JUST BOUGHT NEW TIRES, WE WOULD NEVER HAD KNOWN THAT THE BRAKES WERE READY TO FAIL. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE SHUDDER PROBLEM SINCE 2004 AND IN FACT, MADE A DESIGN CHANGE TO THE FRONT BRAKES BEGINNING ON NOVEMBER 29, 2004. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO COVER THE WORK UNDER WARRANTY OR SEND OUT A RECALL FOR THIS DEFECT. *TR
RIGHT REAR WINDOW INOPERABLE GLASS FELL INTO DOOR. *TR
LEFT REAR WINDSHIELD CONTINUES TO FALL, AFTER HAVING IT SERVICED 4 TIMES, AND REPLACING THE REGULATOR (SMALL MOTOR). NOW THIS IS THE 5 TIME I WILL HAVE THIS SERVICED AGAIN, AND I HAVE ONLY HAD THE TRUCK FOR 2 YEARS. *TR
ALL FIVE ELECTRIC WINDOW MECHANISMS IN OUR F150 FX4 SUPERCREW HAVE FAILED AND HAVE HAD TO BE REPAIRED, INCLUDING THE POWER REAR WINDOW. NOT SURE IF IT IS THE HEAT THAT KILLS THE PLASTIC GEARS OR WHAT. REAR WINDOW MECHANISM FAILED AFTER LEAKING WHEN IT RAINED (2X). ALL EXCEPT LAST WINDOW COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OF 3 YEARS/36K MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS AT ANY SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARS AN UNUSUAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE MAKES LEFT TURNS, HE HEARS NOTHING. THE FAILURE WORSENED TO THE POINT THAT THE UNUSUAL SOUND OCCURRED WHEN HE WOULD ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THAT THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,200. UPDATED 7/3/08 *CN UPDATED 07/03/08 *JB
OUT OF THE BLUE THE TRUCK JUST STARTS SHAKING, NEVER KNOW WHEN OR WHERE. I HAVE TO PULL OFF ROAD AND SHUT IT OFF ,WAIT A BIT, THEN START AND LEAVE AND SEEMS TO BE OK TILL NEXT TIME. IT HAS 37,800 MILES . LAST TIME ON I-94 AT 65MPH IT SCARED ME TO DEATH IT STARTED SHAKING SO BAD . I ALSO HAD A 2005 F150 THAT DID THIS. ITS NOT THE TIRES, OR ENGINE BUT I THINK THE DRIVETRAIN . VERY BAD SAFETY ISSUE AS I AM FINDING I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE FORD ADMIT WHAT THIS IS AND FIX THESE TRUCKS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. THE POWER BEGAN DECREASING SIMULTANEOUSLY AND PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM TRAVELING ABOVE 35 MPH. THE DEALER REPLACED THE COIL PACK AND SPARK PLUGS IN THE NUMBER FIVE CYLINDER. THE CONTACT HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN HE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS BLEW OUT OF THE ALUMINUM HEAD. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THERE WERE ONLY FIVE THREADS HOLDING THE PLUGS TO THE ALUMINUM HEAD, AND, EVEN IF THEY MADE THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE COULD STILL FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSUME ANY LIABILITY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 44,000. UPDATED 03/25/08. *LJ
FINGER CRUSHED UNDER DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE. THE LEVER THAT OPENS THE REAR DOOR OF THE 2004 - F150 WHILE TRYING TO OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE PASSENGER SEAT. SURGERY NEEDED TO PLACE TIP OF FINGER BONE BACK INTO PLACE. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2004 FORD F150 SUPERCREW FX4 IN DECEMBER OF 2007. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE I HAVE FOUND THAT THE HOOD SHAKES VIOLENTLY ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS OF OVER 50 MPH, OFTEN SCARING EACH INDIVIDUAL IN THE TRUCK. I HAVE NOTICED A LOUD IRRITATING NOISE COMING FROM THE WINDSHIELD AREA, UNABLE TO PIN POINT EXACTLY WHAT IS CAUSING IT., ALSO CAUSING ME TO BE A LITTLE NERVOUS THAT ONE DAY IT WILL COME FLYING IN AT ME. THESE ARE THE TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE, THE MINOR ISSUE IS THE 12V OUTLET NOT WORKING AT ALL. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO HAVE THESE ISSUES LOOKED INTO. MY LAST VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP RESULTED IN THEM KEEPING THE TRUCK AND SUPPLYING US WITH A RENTAL WHILE THEY LOOKED INTO THE ISSUES AND RESOLVED THEM. SINCE HAVING THE TRUCK BACK THE WINDSHIELD OR WHATEVER IS CAUSING THE IRRITATING NOISE HAS ONLY GOTTEN LOUDER, THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE CONCERNING THE HOODS VIOLENT SHAKING, AND THE 12V OUTLET STILL DOES NOT WORK. I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP IS A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY ONLY CAUSING MORE STRESS TO MY LIFE WITH HIGHER INSECURITIES CONCERNING MY TRUCK. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO FIND AS MUCH INFORMATION CONCERNING THE HOOD AND WINDSHIELD ISSUES SO I CAN ENSURE MY SAFETY AND THOSE OF WHOM ARE RIDING WITH ME. I WAS REARENDED WHILE SITTING STILL AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT A RATE OF 55+ MPH. THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT CAUSED MY TRUCK TO STRIKE THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHICH CAUSED A CHAIN REACTION OF 5 CARS IN FRONT OF THE ONE I HIT. THE VEHICLE CRASH CAUSED SEVERE INJURIES TO ME BECAUSE MY FACE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR
2004 F150 4DR DEFECTIVE WINDOWS. ALL THREE WINDOWS HAVE FALLEN DOWN INTO THE DOOR IN THE PAST 3 YEAR. FORD DEALERSHIP QUOTED US EACH WINDOW WOULD COST $500 PER DOOR. AT THIS POINT WE HAVE PLACE A BAR IN THE WINDOW TO KEEP THEM CLOSED. *TR
MAY 07 REAR BRAKE PADS REPLACED. JANUARY 08 A VIOLENT SHAKING OCCURS AT 50MPH NEARLY CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP AND FOUND THAT A BROKEN CLIP ON THE PARKING BRAKE ALLOWED THE PARKING BRAKE SHOES (ON THE INSIDE OF THE ROTORS) TO BIND NEARLY LOCKING THE WHEELS. NEEDED TO REPLACE PARKING BRAKE, BOTH ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS DUE TO DAMAGE. SHOP DID NOT KEEP THE PARTS. CONCERN IS THE A BROKEN PARKING BRAKE CLIP CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE. COST WAS OVER $800. FORD CLAIMED THAT BRAKE ABUSE WAS AT FAULT. *TR
AT 37K MILES AND 35 MONTH OLD, THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL OUT OF THE TRACK. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REGULATOR FREE OF CHARGE EVEN THOUGH THE WARRANTY WAS UP AT 36K. AT 39K MILES, THE DRIVER SIDE REGULATOR FAILED. DEALER SHIP HAD BEEN SOLD AND NEW OWNERSHIP WOULD NOT CONSIDER HELPING WITH THE PREMATURE FAILURE. *TR
BOUGHT A USED VEHICLE 2004 FORD F150 HAS A SHUDDER/VIBRATION IN THE REAR AXLE. TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER FOR SERVICE. IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THEY WILL FIX IT TO "LESSEN THE CONCERN," NOT COMPLETELY GET RID OF IT. MY AFTERMARKET WARRANTY WILL COVER IT AFTER DEDUCTIBLE AND TAXES. BUT I DON'T LIKE THE SOUND OF LESSEN THE CONCERN. AND IT SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
TWO POWER WINDOWS HAVE FALLEN AND WON'T ROLL BACK UP. THE REGULATORS SEEM TO BE BROKEN. THE FIRST ONE TO GO WAS THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR, THEN 6 WEEKS LATER, THE DRIVER DOOR. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE DRIVING/FOG LIGHT REFLECTOR LOOKS RUSTED/ FAST FORWARD TO JULY 9TH, 2014 THE WHOLE REFLECTOR BRACKET IS RUSTED SITTING ON THE BOTTOM OF THIS LIGHTING HOUSING. ITEM WAS REPORTED JUST AFTER WARRANTY PERIOD WAS OVER AND ITEM WAS NEVER CORRECTED WITH FORD. THIS HOUSING WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW. *TR
F-150 - 2004 FORD. EXPERIENCING TWO MECHANICAL ISSUES. THE MOST CONCERTING IS THE FUEL FUMES/TOXIC SMELL THAT ENTERS THE CAB. SECONDARY IS ENGINE KNOCK. THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY EXPIRES IN APPROX. 5K MILES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AND ODOR CONFIRMED, HOWEVER, NO TROUBLE CODE WAS GIVEN, THEREFORE, FORD DEALERSHIP CAN'T MAKE REPAIRS WITHOUT APPROVAL OF FORD, WHO WON'T APPROVE WITHOUT VALID TROUBLE CODES. THE FUMES ARE TOXIC AND MUST BE HAZARDOUS TO THE HEALTH OF OUR FAMILY.*CN
I DROVE THE TRUCK HOME FROM THE AUTOMATIC CAR WASH (WITH UNDERFLUSH) AND I PARKED IT IN MY GARAGE. I LEFT FOR A 10 DAY VACATION AN HOUR AFTER I PARKED IT. WHEN I CAME HOME 10 DAYS LATER I FOUND THE TRUCK HOOD AND CAB COVERED IN BLACK SOOT. THE ENTIRE GARAGE ALSO HAD A THIN FILM OF BLACK SOOT. AS IT TURNS OUT, THE ANTILOCK BRAKE CONTROL MODULE CAUGHT ON FIRE SOME TIME AFTER I PARKED THE TRUCK. IT CAUSED $4000 DAMAGE BETWEEN THE BRAKE CONTROL MODULE AND OTHER RELATED COMPONENTS. I HAVE A FULL EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH COVERED THE REPAIRS (INITIALLY THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR, BUT I CHALLENGED THAT DECISION, AND THE ESP PEOPLE AGREED WITH ME). *TR
I HAVE A 2004 FORD F-150, SUPERCREW, PICKUP I PURCHASED NEW FROM A DEALER. I HAVE REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR 2 TIMES ALREADY, AND RIGHT NOW IT IS FAILING AGAIN. *TR
I WANT TO PREFACE THIS BY SAYING THAT BEFORE THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED I HAD MY F-150 IAT A FORD DEALERSHIP IN RALEIGH NC TWO SAYS BEFORE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT ABOUT 600 MILES BEFORE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS UP. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT SO I WAS FORCED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM MY PARENTS HOUSE IN OHIO ON CHRISTMAS DAY. AS I WAS HEADING THROUGH VIRGINIA TO NORTH CAROLINA I HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I STOPPED TO SEE WHAT IT WAS AND EVENTUALLY FOUND OUT THAT THE SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN AWAY FROM THE HEAD. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS. AFTER HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I WAS FORCED TO PAY ALMOST 3500 DOLLARS IN ORDER TO GET MY TRUCK BACK. FORD SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. 1D *TR
REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS CHATTERING/SHUDDERING ON SLOW TAKE OFF TURNS. PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED BY CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. ISSUE FAULTY CLUTCH PACK IN THE POSITRACTION REAR. VEHICLE HAD 39,000 MILES SO OUT OF WARRANTY. BOTH DEALER AND FORD GAVE SOME ON REPAIR. ABOUT $400 TOWARD $900 REPAIR. HELPS SOME BUT STILL CAN'T GET PAST WHY A MECHANICAL FAILURE ON A PART THAT SHOULD LAST 100,000 MILES. *TR
TSB 050621. THIS IS WHERE YOUR BRAKES SHUDDER VERY HARSHLY WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHER RATES OF SPEED. THIS IS A PROBLEM ON EVERY FORD F150 BUILT BEFORE MID NOVEMBER 2004. UNFORTUNATELY FORD HAS MADE THIS ONLY A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN BUT THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND NOT COVERED IF THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY. IT IS TOO DANGEROUS OF A PROBLEM TO NOT GET REPAIRED. *TR
THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNATTENDED. THE FAILURE IS THE WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY 2004 FORD F-150 CREW CAB. THE FAILURE LEFT MY VEHICLE UNSECURED WITH NEWLY PURCHASED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS INSIDE. MY MAJOR CONCERN NOW IS IF ANOTHER FAILS FOR THE SAME WINDOW OR ANOTHER WINDOW WHILE MY PREGNANT WIFE IS DRIVING AND THE WINDOW JUST STARTS FALLING INTO THE DOOR, HOW IS SHE GOING TO REACT AND MAYBE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN WORSE IT HAPPENS WHILE TRAVELING IN COLD WEATHER AND HAVING NO WAY TO SECURE THE COLD WEATHER OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. I UNDERSTAND FROM THE MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THAT THEY CARRY THESE PARTS IN STOCK BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF FAILURES AND "THEY KEEP IN STOCK WHAT MOVES". THE ONLY THING DONE FOR ME TO CORRECT THE FAILURE WAS TO HAVE THE PARTS REPLACED, FORD'S REPAIR ON THIS PART IS CLOSE TO $500 BEFORE ANY TAXES. AFTER HAVING THE PARTS REPLACED, THE TECH SHOWED ME THE FAILED PART AND ITS WHERE A WIRE ROPE THAT CONTROLS THE MOVEMENT OF THE WINDOW ATTACHED TO THE WINDOW SUPPORT AND THAT WIRE ROPE ATTACHES TO A PIECE OF PLASTIC, THE PLASTIC IS WHAT BROKE AND TO MY EYE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT COULD EVER SURVIVE THE LIFE OF A VEHICLE. *TR
I NOTICED MY BRAKES PULSATING WHEN APPLIED. THE DEALERS SERVICE TECH TOLD ME THE FRONT BRAKES WERE NOT RELEASING FULLY AND HAD WARPED THE ROTORS BEYOND REPAIR. THE CALIPER PISTONS HAD "COCKED" IN THEIR HOUSINGS, DESTROYING THE FRONT CALIPERS. THE REPAIR COST OVER $1,400. THE RISK IS THAT THE BRAKES WOULD BIND, FAIL TO DISENGAGE WHEN APPLIED, AND CAUSE A CRASH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY MOVE FORWARD. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEARS FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE GEAR POSITION INDICATOR; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER THE REPAIR WAS MADE. THE CONTACT HAD TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, ON JUNE 16, 2008, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND CURRENT WAS MILEAGE 46,000.
OFFICIALLY LOGGING A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2004 F150 DRIVELINE. IT HAS DONE THIS TO THE POINT OF TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT DUE TO WEAR ON THE SHAFT. THE DRIVESHAFT IS NOT SERVICEABLE AT ALL AND WAS NEVER LUBED FROM THE FACTORY CAUSING BINDING ON THE SLIP YOKES WHICH IN TURN CAUSES SWING BEARING WEAR, U JOINT FAILURE AND TO THE POINT OF TRANSMISSION STUB SHAFT WEAR ULTIMATELY CAUSING FAILURE. THERE SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THESE DUE TO THE SEVERITY AND LIABILITY. WE OWNED THE TRUCK NEW AND HAVE DRIVEN WITH THIS PROBLEM UNTIL NOW. I HOPE TO SEE A RECALL SOON AS TSBS ARE NO HELP TO THE CUSTOMER AND MOST DEALERS DO NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THESE PARTS ARE UNSERVICEABLE. AS A LIFE LONG CUSTOMER, THUMBS DOWN ON FORD TO ALLOW THIS TO GO ON. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-50 MPH, THE FRONT BRAKES WOULD GRIND AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD PULSATE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PISTONS IN THE CALIPERS WERE MISALIGNED AND FAILED TO RELEASE THE BRAKE ROTOR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ROTORS AND CALIPERS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 27,288.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ONE DAY AND MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW STARTS GOING DOWN AND I CANNOT GET IT BACK UP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE PLASTIC PART HOLDING UP THE WINDOW HAD BROKEN. COST APPROX $330 TO FIX. YESTERDAY I TURN ON MY CAR AND THE DRIVERS FRONT WINDOW HAS NOW DONE THE SAME THING. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND MANY HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
ENGINE HAS HAD A TICKING NOISE IN ENGINE SINCE DAY I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. TALKED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID NORMAL NOISE FROM 04 F-150 TRITION THEY HAVE SINCE CLOSED. WENT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD SAME THING. BROKE DOWN WENT TO HOMETOWN MECHANIC REPLACED CAM GEARS AFTER ANOTHER DEALERSHIP ASKED IF IT SOUNDED LIKE A DIESEL. ALSO PULLED VALVE COVER OFF TO FIND VALVE SPRING AND ROCKER ARM ON CAM. TOTAL DISCOUNTED COST FROM FRIEND WAS $2400 NOT COUNTING MACHINING HEADS. *TR
FORD RECOMMENDS CHANGING THE SPARK PLUGS ON MY 2004 F150 5.4 3-VALVE AT 100,000 MILES. MILEAGE WAS GETTING CLOSE SO I TRIED TO CHANGE THEM. UNFORTUNATELY FORD DID NOT TELL OWNERS THAT THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THE SPARK PLUGS BREAKING-OFF IN THE CYLINDER CAUSING A MASSIVE REPAIR BILL. ENGINE HAD MUST BE REMOVED TO TAKE OUT BROKEN PLUG. FORD DID PRODUCE A TSB, BUT DID NOT INFORM OWNERS THAT THIS ROUTINE SERVICE SHOULD BE DONE BY DEALER. UPON CHECKING INTERNET, THERE ARE SCORES OF REPORTS OF THE PLUGS BREAKING WHEN BOTH OWNERS AND DEALERS ATTEMPT THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW ROLLED DOWN INTO THE POCKET OF THE DOOR. THE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THE CONTACT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING THE WINDOW. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD A CLUNKING SOUND UNDER MY 2004 F150 4X4. PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND FOUND OUT THAT THE CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ON MY DRIVE SHAFT HAD WORN OUT. LUCKILY I FOUND OUT BEFORE GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR A LONG TRIP OR THE SHAFT WOULD HAVE EVENTUALLY EATEN THROUGH AND CAUSED MAJOR HARM TO THE TRUCK AND POSSIBLY OURSELVES AND ANY OTHERS INVOLVED FROM AN ACCIDENT. I CANNOT FIND ANY PARTS TO REPLACE THE CENTER SUPPORT BEARING (CSB). ALL AFTER MARKET PARTS SUPPLIERS CANNOT FIND A REPLACEMENT PART THAT IS EVEN MADE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WANTS TO SELL ME THE ENTIRE DRIVE SHAFT FOR $700 WHEN THE CSB IS ONLY A $20-30 PART - IF FORD WOULD SUPPLY/MAKE THE PART. 2004 FORD F-150... TRUCK STARTS TO SHAKE HORRIBLY WHEN ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM IS RANDOM (ONCE EVERY 2-3 DAYS?), BUT ONLY STOP S AFTER THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IT WAS THE WINDOW REGULATOR. COST AROUND $500 TO FIX IT. A YEAR LATER THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL OF TRACK WHEN SHUTTING THE DOOR AND FELL DOWN INTO IT. DON'T REALLY HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT, SO WE RIGGED IT TO STAY UP, HOWEVER IT FALLS SLOWLY WHILE DRIVING AND WE HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING IT UP. NOW THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW HAS FALLEN DOWN- WHERE OUR CHILD SITS AND THIS IS BECOMING A PROBLEM. $1500 TO FIX 3 WINDOWS IN 2 YEARS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE ON SOMETHING THAT IS CLEARLY A DEFECT. FORD CLAIMS THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE NHTSA TO REQUIRE THE RECALL FROM FORD, UNTIL THAT HAPPENS THEY WONT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS A CONSUMER ISSUE. I WAS SITTING IN MY HOME OFFICE WITH MY 2004 FORD F 150 PARKED RIGHT OUTSIDE WHERE I COULD SEE IT. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE V-8 5.4 ENGINE STARTED MISSING, DEALER IN WINSLOW AZ SAID THEY HAD A LOT OFTROUBLE WITH THAT ENGINE SHOOTING THE SPARK PLUGS OUT. SITTING AT A LIGHT WITH DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW IN THE UP POSITION. HEARD A HUGE BANG AND SAW WINDOWING DROPPING INTO DOOR. IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE TRUCK WAS MOVING IT WOULD BE VERY DISTRACTING POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.

THIRTEEN MONTHS LATER, THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW FAILED TO ROLL UP, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I HAVE A 2004 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW CAB LARIAT. SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 OF THE WINDOW REGULATORS. ON TWO OCCASIONS, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I HEARD A LOUD POP. AS I TURNED TO SEE WHAT THE NOISE WAS, I OBSERVED MY WINDOWS FALLING INTO THE DOOR FRAMES. THE NOISE WAS SO LOUD, I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD THROWN SOMETHING AT MY VEHICLE AND HIT IT. IT WAS A SCARY SITUATION, DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS DRIVING AND THE LOUD NOISE WAS EXTREMELY STARTLING. THE OTHER TWO WINDOW REGULATORS, WHICH BROKE ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS AS WELL, HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I CAME OUTSIDE THE FIRST TIME AND THOUGHT THAT I HAD ACCIDENTALLY LEFT ONE OF MY WINDOWS DOWN....ONLY TO REALIZE THAT I HAD YET ANOTHER BROKEN WINDOW REGULATOR. THE LAST ONE THAT BROKE, WAS EASILY RECOGNIZED AS A BROKEN REGULATOR, DUE TO MY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRIOR 3. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE ALL 4 OF MY REGULATORS REPAIRED AT EXTREMELY HIGH COSTS. THESE REGULATORS THAT JUST BREAK FOR NO APPARENT REASON ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, NOT ONLY TO THE VEHICLE OPERATOR, BUT OTHER VEHICLE OPERATORS AS WELL. IF I DID NOT HAVE THE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE REGARDING VEHICLES, I COULD HAVE EASILY INADVERTENTLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS ON MY VEHICLE. *TR
