Walmart Auto Center installed the incorrect tire size 255/70R17 on my factory setup with factory wheels. Westlake SU318 All Season 255/70R17 112T SUV/crossover tires were installed in place of the correct size 245/70R17 tires. Walmart is refusing to fix my truck and I had the brake lines blow out 3 weeks after installing the tires. I am a current threat to the public and myself driving with these incorrect tires. Walmart will not replace the tires. Walmart is attempting to coverup this by not providing the information to carfax. I have submitted a carfax update case#XXX. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150 EQUIPPED WITH CAPITOL PRECISION TRAC II TIRES, SIZE: 255/70R16. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RUBBER SEPARATED FROM THE INNER CORE OF THE TIRES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT IT EXPIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000 AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
NEW SET OF 4 FEDERAL COURAGIA MUD TIRES (35X12.50X20) PURCHASED JUNE 2015- AT 60 MPH TRUCK WOBBLES/SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY. FINALLY FOUND WALMART AUTO/TIRE CENTER (NOT PURCHASED FROM WALMART).TECH STATED THAT THE STEEL BELT HAD SHIFTED. WENT BACK TO ORIGINAL TIRE DEALER , NO REPLACE NO REFUND. PURCHASED 2 MORE FEDERAL COURAGIA TIRES FROM A DIFFERENT TIRE DEALER APRIL 2016 THINKING MAYBE IT WAS A FAULTY SET FROM OTHER DEALER, BUT STEEL BELT SHIFTING IN 1 OF THE 2 NEWEST TIRES AS OF 10/04/16. SAME FIERCE WOBBLE/SHAKE AT 60-MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE RIM FRACTURED. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE RIMS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RIMS FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE BRAKES TO MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
TIRE TREAD SEPARATION ON FRONT DRIVE SIDE TIRE. I WAS ABLE TO CATCH IN TIME AND HAD TIRE REPLACED BUT WOULD LIKE COMPANY TO REIMBURSE ME BECAUSE THIS BRAND OF TIRE WAS RECALLED LAST YEAR FOR THE SAME REASON BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THE P265/70R17. I OWN A 2008 FORD F-150 LARIAT WHICH IS LIGHTLY USED AND NEVER CARRIES A LOAD.THE TIRES ON MY TRUCK DRY ROTTED BY 5/19/11 AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. MILEAGE WAS 18369, COST TO ME WAS $362.00. NOW THE NEW TIRES HAVE DONE THE SAME THING. I DO NOT HAUL CARGO OR DRIVE AT EXCESSIVE SPEEDS. MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 31944 WHICH MEANS THIS SET LASTED JUST OVER TWO YEARS AND 13575 MILES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE ISSUE OF A BLOWOUT AND LOSING CONTROL OF THE TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE ROLLOVERS WITH PICKUP TRUCKS. I JUST WATCHED AN EPISODE OF MOTORWEEK THAT STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING THE STEEL BELTS OUT OF THE ELEMENTS OR THEY WILL FAIL BADLY AND THESE TIRES ARE CRACKED IN THE TREAD WHERE THERE IS LITTLE TO KEEP THE STEEL COVERED. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS TIRE, BUT I'M NOT GETTING ANY SERVICE LIFE OUT OF A VERY EXPENSIVE TIRE. TIRE IS PRONE TO TINY PUNCTURES ON THE SIDEWALL ABOUT ONE INCH (1") BELOW THE TREAD. TWO TIRES ON MY 2008 F-150 SUFFERED THE SAME DAMAGE. BOTH PUNCTURES WERE ABOUT AT THE SAME LOCATION,THE FIRST AT ABOUT 2,000 MILES. THE SECOND AT ABOUT 20,500 MILES. THE TIRES WERE ON DIFFERENT WHEEL POSITIONS ON THE VEHICLE WHEN PUNCTURES OCCURRED. 2008 FORD F150, RIGHT FRONT TIRE AND RIM CAME OFF DAMAGING THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WELL AND CAUSED THE UNDERCARRIAGE TO STRIKE THE GROUND. *BF ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT, THE STUDS WERE MISSING. THE ROTOR WAS GROUND DOWN IN SEVERAL AREAS WITH IT STRIKING THE ASPHALT SURFACE. THEIR HOLDING ABILITY IS LIMITED AND IN TWO WHEEL DRIVE ON RAIN SLICK STREET ANY POWER APPLIED FOR CLIMBING HILLS, COMING OUT OF TURNS, OR ENTERING FWYS CAN RESULT IN REAR END DRIFT AND SKIDDING. I BOUGHT A NEW FORD F 150 4X4 PICKUP 5/1/08 AND HAVE HAD 2 TIRES BLOW OUT. 1 TURNING AROUND IN A FOREST SERVICE CAMP GROUND AND 1 ON THE FREEWAY AT 75 MPH. THESE TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN ABUSED OR MISTREATED IN ANY WAY. THE WORST USE THEY HAVE SEEN IS 20 MILES AT 35 MPH ON AN IMPROVED COUNTY GRAVEL ROAD.. I FEEL FORD MOTOR COMPANY MADE AN ERROR PUTTING PASSENGER RATED TIRES ON A LIGHT TRUCK. ESPECIALLY A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. OUT OF SAFETY CONCERN, AND JUST PLAIN GOT TIRED OF BUYING REPLACEMENTS, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 5 TIRES WITH LT TIRES RATED FOR PICKUP USE AT A COST OF $800.
